I do NOT own Teen Wolf.

Emma's POV

I pulled into the driveway of my new house. I know that mom likes working because then she is distracted from everything that went on but I really do not like being alone in the house. I'm contemplating just going for a walk when my phone rings.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Emma! What are you doing right now?" Stiles asked, out of breath.

"Um, sitting in my driveway. Why?"

"Do you want to help Scott and me with something? It could be dangerous."

"Danger is my middle name. Pick me up in 5 minutes."

"Great! Awesome! Okay, yeah, I'll see you soon. We I mean we will see you soon…yeah."

"Bye Stiles."

I hung up the phone and ran inside to put adventure clothes on. I threw on a pair of dark skinny jeans, a gray v-neck, my converse, and a black, Batman zip up hoodie. I ran back downstairs and saw the Jeep pull into the driveway.

Stiles got out as I approached the car so I could get in the back. His eyes were wide as he took in what I was wearing.

"You alright there Stiles?"

"What? Um, yeah. You like Batman?"

"Well I like Spiderman more but yes I like Batman. Why?"

"No reason, I just think that that is interesting."

Scott began to chuckle as Stiles turned bright red. I shook my head and went to get in the car. As if the situation couldn't get any more awkward, I missed the step into the cab and started to fall backwards. Stiles caught me before I hit the ground. We locked eyes for what seemed like forever. I thought that he might try to kiss me again and that this time I could let him and the moon wouldn't ruin anything. But Scott interrupted the moment we were having.

"As fun as this whole standing in Emma's driveway is, we have a body to find."

"Right, yeah. The body," Stiles said helping me get in the back.

"Wait. A body? What the hell are we doing exactly?" I asked.

"Well I think that Derek buried the other half of the body in his yard," Scott said.

"What body?" I asked still confused.

"The body that we were looking for when Scott was bit," Stiles explained.

"Oh…is Derek going to be there?" I asked getting nervous.

"No. Why?" Stiles asked.

"No reason."

"No. Tell us. Why?" Stiles asked again.

"Because if he is there then I shouldn't be there."

"Meaning what exactly…?" Stiles asked.

"It's fine if Scott knows about me because he can't do anything about it. No offense Scott."

"None taken," Scott said laughing.

"But if Derek, or any other werewolf that is not a newly turned one, knows about me, it could end very badly."

"Very badly? Like what you getting hurt or something?" Stiles asked.

"Or me dying, yeah. That's why I didn't tell you guys in the first place. I needed to know that I could trust you enough to not do anything to hurt me."

Both of the boys nodded and I sat back in my seat. I looked out the window at the trees as they passed. We pulled into a little driveway in between the trees. I looked up and realized that we were at the preserve entrance by the Hale house.

"So why are we looking for this body again?" I asked.

"For justice!" Stiles said.

I rolled my eyes at him and he just smiled, showing his adorable dimples. "If we figure this out, then Derek will get off my back and I can play the game on Saturday," Scott said.

"Okay. Sounds like a reasonable explanation for why we are digging up a dead body. You know cause a lacrosse game is that important," I said sarcastically. Stiles laughed at my response.

"It isn't just the game! I made first lane, I got a date with the girl of my dreams, and if I don't play then I could lose all of that!" Scott practically screamed.

I was taken aback by his response, "Scott, you honestly think that Allison wouldn't like you if you weren't on the lacrosse team?"

"Yeah…" Scott said.

"I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, Scott. Most girls don't care what sport guys play or if they even play a sport. Allison isn't like Lydia, she isn't going to stop being interested in you due to a change in social status. Okay?"

Stiles turned around and looked at me wide-eyed while Scott just shook his head. "Even if that is true, I don't want to chance it. I like her so much that I don't want to do anything that might ruin it."

I nodded. He must really like Allison. I looked over at Stiles who was still staring at me. "Dude. What is your problem today?"

"What? I don't have a problem, no problem at all. Problem free here," Stiles said blushing.

"Whatever," I mumbled.

We waited for Derek to leave in silence. When we finally saw his Camaro pull out of his yard, we all climbed out of the car hurrying to find the body before Derek comes back.

"It smells different," Scott said.

I sniffed the air and it definitely smelled like something dead but I couldn't figure out if it was human. "It smells weird."

"Stop smelling and start digging," Stiles said.

We did as he said, I don't know how long we were digging but it felt like hours. "Are we almost there?"

"Stop whining. I don't know how deep he buried it," Stiles snapped.

God, what is his problem tonight. I am going to have to ask him later. Right as I was thinking what I was going to talk to Stiles about, we hit something hard. We all looked at each other in shock. Stiles bent down to dig a little deeper and found knots. He started to untie the knots and I got a feeling that something was wrong. "Stiles wait –."

He screamed and I looked down. There was half a wolf buried where the body was supposed to be. I looked away to see if there was any other fresh dirt or anything. I saw a light purple flower a few feet away from the buried area. I started walking towards it.

"Emma! What are you doing?!" Stiles whisper-yelled.

"Just wait a second."

I bent down and grabbed the flower, it was stuck on something so I pulled a little harder and it came up with a rope tied to the end of it. I continued to pull the rope and walk with it. It was in a design and as I reached the end of it, Scott said, "Woah! It's a girl."

I looked at the boys and they looked back with wide eyes, "I think we have enough evidence for a conviction. What about you guys?"

Stiles called his dad to tell him what we had found. The sheriff didn't tell Stiles about when they were going to make the arrest so Stiles drove Scott and I to our houses. Even though I live past Scott's house, Stiles dropped me off first.

I got out of the car and closed the door, "Call me when you find out about the arrest. Goodnight boys."

"Goodnight Emma," Scott said. And Stiles didn't say anything.

I walked into my house and shook my head. What happened between Stiles and I to make him so mad at me? I will just have to talk to him tomorrow.

Stiles' POV

"Dude seriously? Why were you giving her the cold shoulder?" Scott asked as we headed to his house.

"I wasn't giving her the cold shoulder. I was just distracted."

"Bullshit. Even if I didn't have super hearing I would be able to tell that you were lying."

"I'm not lying! I just…I don't know."

"You just…oh my god! You like her don't you?!"

"No!"

"Yes you do!"

"Fine! I like her! Okay?"

"Then why were you giving her the cold shoulder?"

"That comment that she made about Lydia liking social status made me mad."

"Why?"

"Because it's true and then she basically said that she was the opposite which gave me hope and then I just got all confused."

"Does she know that you like Lydia?"

"I think so. She saw me embarrass myself at the hospital but even then she didn't make fun of me. She is so sweet and funny. She doesn't care what other people think of her. She likes Batman! But…" I trailed off.

"But she is half werewolf."

"Exactly! How do I know when she is being serious with me or just having wolf issues?"

"Well you could always ask her."

"I guess…"

"You aren't going to ask her are you?" Scott chuckled.

"No. Probably not."

"Just give it time. Everything will work out."

We pulled into Scott's driveway and he got out of the Jeep. "I'll pick you up tomorrow?"

"Yeah. See you then." Scott started to walk away then turned around, "Hey Stiles?"

"Yeah buddy?"

"Maybe you should ask Emma if she needs a ride tomorrow?"

"I'll think about it. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I pulled out of Scott's driveway. I don't know if I should give her a ride tomorrow or if I should call her when I find out about the arrest. All I know is that I can't keep being around Emma without knowing her intentions.
