Chapter 7

Percy POV

As we got back to our rooms I heard shouts of joy from my fellow demigods. I opened my door and Nico was already sitting on his bed with his wand in hand.

"What is it made of?" I asked Nico as I started to open my wand box up.

"Poplar tree from the Fields of Asphodel with a core of a hair from Cerberus." Nico said excitedly.

I opened mine up slowly trying to anticipate what was in there. Mine was blue made from a chunk of the outside of Poseidon's trident with a core of salt water. I showed it to Nico.

"That's sweet!" Nico exclaimed.

Then we both got up and walked next door to see what the others got.

Annabeth was staring at hers in awe when we walked in and Thalia was twirling hers in her fingers.

"What did you two get?" I asked wondrously.

"Mine is carved out of an old piece of Zeus' throne and it has a core of lightning!" Thalia said excitedly.

"Cool," Nico said. "How about you Annabeth?"

"Mine is made from an olive tree with the core of an owl's feather. Not just any owl thought. The one that Athena turns herself into!" Annabeth said quietly but excitedly.

Then the four of us walked over to Clarisse's room to see what she had gotten.

Clarisse was an oak tree with a boar's hair core. Clarisse looked disappointed as she was looking at it. Then she gave it a wave and a blast of red light came out the end and my wand flew out of my hand and Clarisse caught it with a gleam in her eyes.

"Give it back!" I said angrily.

"Fat chance!" Clarisse yelled back.

Then, I realized that my wand had a core of water which meant I could control it. I just smiled at Clarisse and then my wand shot out of her hand and back into mine.

"What the Hades?" Clarisse yelled.

"Perks of having a core of water." I said back happily.

Then Chiron walked in the room and told everyone to go back to their rooms and start packing up their things.

"We leave right away tomorrow morning." Chiron said. "I expect you all to bed right after supper."

"Yes, Chiron." Everyone said in unison.

I smiled to myself. I had no plans of going to bed after supper. I was going to go look at the brooms that I had seen earlier. I might not have enough money to buy one, but...I have my ways.
