Hi.

Long time no see guys… it's just that a lot of problems have occurred in the past few months.

I'm here for a bit though! The Jisbon scenes have been killing me every Sunday so I decided to get back into writing for them :P

So…

Here's the outcome of my tremendous hiatus from writing.

Enjoy this one-shot about my own take on what Jane might do when Lisbon tells him about the possible move.

(BTW: I am not continuing with the date in the last chapter… I lost the flow from there)

Lisbon hadn't been like herself all day. On their most recent case her thoughts were elsewhere, perhaps Pike, but Jane flinched at the thought of the two of them together and tried to rack his brain for other reasons. She missed the important details on the Jane Doe that usually never escaped her keen eye, and when she came in to work this morning, her hair more frazzled than usual and her makeup applied in a hurry, the blonde haired man could only hope that Pike hadn't done anything to hurt her at their date the night before.

He was glad that he didn't see her all dressed up like that first date the two of them went to, so his heart didn't have to constrict and no harming words to their friendship would sputter out of his dry mouth at the sight of the beautiful sight in front of him.

Which is why he was so surprised when said woman stood in front of him, biting her lip in a way that showed she was nervous but only made him want her more. She looked up at him, that slight height difference still rather obvious, and he sighed, for once impatient with her nerves.

"Lisbon, what's wrong?" He asked, and puts a hand on her shoulder, and tries to avoid the fact she left it there get to his head.

She looks down before motioning him to follow her to his couch on the other side of the room. It takes a few moments, but he sees that having a place to sit calms her down slightly.

"Last night, on my date with Pike," she pauses, and he hopes she doesn't see his grimace at the mention of her… friend… before nodding and gesturing for her to continue. "... Um... he asked me to move to DC with him because he got a job offer." She rushes through the rest of the sentence and leans back, calm now that she got out what she's been wanting to the whole day.

He gapes open mouthed for a second, before closing it, at a loss for words. He clears his throat, and attempts to sort through his thoughts before leaning back and closing his eyes.

"What did you say?" Even he can hear the tinge of nervousness that colors his voice as he speaks the question.

"I said I'll have to think about it."

"Then why are you asking me?"

She sighed. "I don't know what to do."

For once, Jane was at a loss for words and stood up abruptly, and leaned down to smooth a stray hair on the top of her head. He felt his heart break slowly but surely, because he knew, once and for all, he had waited too long.

"I'm not much help, then, am I?" He smiled ruefully and walked off, leaving both of them surprised and feeling like something just broke between the two of them.

Believe me when I say I want Jisbon together so much. But I don't see how they can get together after or if Jane declares his love for her, because that would seem too rushed.

I can only hope.

Thanks for reading : )
