Amelia simply sighed. She hadn't expected Kronos to come up with a genius move, but a small plan would've been nice. The pinkette rolled her eyes and walked up to the Durbes. They were still bickering with one another. When they started to scratch at one another. Amelia backed up very slowly. She gasped when they became entangled with one another, wrestling and clawing each other.
"Um, guys..." Amelia tried, in a more quiet-ish tone than she would've preferred. It didn't do any good. The Durbes continued to fight.
"Guys." Kronos tried this time, much louder than Amelia but still not enough to hold the Durbes attention for long. Now Amelia was becoming annoyed.
"ENOUGH!" The pinkette hollered and shot her Crest at the two identical Barians. They jolted up in alarm, then stared at Amelia with shocked facial expressions. She stepped foreword and yanked the two of them up, then stared into their gray eyes. "Stop this pointless bickering. I hate seeing guys fight. Now listen, I have a way to be able to tell you apart."
"How?" Kronos asked, staring at Amelia for an answer. She glanced back at him, then shrugged.
"I have one question in mind that only my Durbe could answer." The pink-haired girl turned back to the two identical Barians. She looked them each individually in the eye, then sighed and backed away. Amelia shut her eyes and snickered, then kept her smirk on. "Like I said, only my Durbe could know it. Okay, here goes. How did I get this scar?" She held up her arm, revealing a long, deep gash that had obviously been there a long time.
Kronos widened his eyes. This was the perfect question, true to its word of being answerable to only Amelia's Durbe. Both looked at each other, trying to figure out how and or what to answer. Amelia smirked. She knew this would work.
"Ten seconds," Amelia prompted. She watched as the Durbes began to freak out, then glanced back to see Kronos, who was trying to hide his laughter. Amelia was swaying back and forth now. She blinked innocently as one of the Durbes finally jumped up, then nodded at him for the answer.
"That scar came from Vector, when he took that knife and stabbed you with it. You also have one just like that across your stomach from him."
Amelia was stunned. She blinked, then smiled and nodded. "Correct! So that means I found my Durbe!" The pinkette jumped up and clung to him happily.
"You still need a way to tell them apart, duh," Kronos said, walking up to Amelia and staring at her. She shrugged and started going through her bag, then pulled out her gray, furry bracelet. Kronos raised an eyebrow, obviously not thinking that would work. Amelia grabbed her Durbe by the wrist, then slid it on.
"There. Now we can tell them apart," Amelia mused, smirking as she turned back to Kronos. He rolled his eyes.
"This is great and all, but what do we do now?" Kronos asked, staring at the three in front of him.
Silence swayed over the area. Kronos's Durbe eyed Amelia curiously, then took a few steps towards her. Before anyone could react, he grabbed her by the waist and yanked her away from Amelia's Durbe's grasp. She cried out in shock, then yelped when she was lifted into the air. Kronos and Amelia's Durbe gasped and stared. Amelia was not happy.
"Gah! What the hell? Get offa me!" Amelia wailed, trying to fling herself from Kronos's Durbe's grasp. It only tightened around her skinny waist, however. Amelia's Durbe had had enough. He raced up with Kronos and tried to grab Amelia, but missed. Thank god Kronos was right there. He was the one who grabbed Amelia, then dropped to the ground with her Durbe. Amelia huffed and brushed herself off.
There was silence for a few seconds afterwards. Soon, however, Amelia found herself scowling at Kronos's Durbe. She shook herself off, then clung to her own Durbe, feeling violated. Kronos shot a glare at his Durbe before walking away.
"Seriously, though," Kronos began. "What the hell are we going to do now?"
"This," Amelia said. She raised her hand, then opened a portal. Without giving them a chance to react, she grabbed both Durbes andKronos before leaping through. On the other side lay Damon, Trey, and Vetrix. Thankfully, they were still here. Amelia would've thrown a fit if they hadn't been.
So this is where she put them, Kronos thought. He strode over to Damon, watching him sleep. Amelia had patched his leg up. Kronos had to admit, the girl did a really good job with it. He turned his attention to Amelia, then watched as she made her way to where Trey and Vetrix lay. The pinkette sat on the edge of the bed, just watching her family members sleep.
"I bet you'd freak if something else happened to them. Right?" Kronos asked. Amelia nodded, looking up at him with dull emerald eyes.
"Yeah, I would. I know I haven't known them very long but..."
"But what?"
"But I'd hate myself for allowing something more to happen to them. They're my family. I love them dearly."
"Does that include Quinton, too?"
Amelia laughed. She nodded, keeping the smile on her face. "Of course it includes Quinton. Whatever's gotten into him is simply temporary, I know. I just hope we figure out what it is..." She trailed off once again. It was a nasty habit Amelia had accustomed herself to when she was little. This way, she didn't have to explain everything to Vector whenever something was broken. It made him think she forgot what she was saying or something.
And it worked, too.
Kronos sighed. He nodded and turned back to Damon. Amelia just stared at the floor. Though it was impossible to see it in her face, she was beyond angered with the Vectors. The pinkette let out a low, unbearable growl.
I swear, when I find those two morons, I'll pound them so hard that they won't even remember their own names, Amelia thought. She nodded to herself, satisfied with her thoughts as she lay down between Trey and Vetrix.
