Welcome back everyone! Now that part 1 is out of the way, it's time for part 2. I know what you're wondering right this moment: What is he writing about? The answer is simple. I am taking the Digimon Tamers series and breaking them up into four parts. NO, this is not the start of a new Fanfiction, but the continuation. Much like YuGiOh Gx Season 1 can be broken into two parts, the Fall semester in getting used to life on campus and the Spring semester where they face off against the Shadow Riders. The breakdown for Tamers will be as follows (at least for my view on the show):
First part: beginning until Mihiramon arrives.
Second Part: Mihiramon's arrival to Calumon's capture.
Third Part: Entering the Digital World until the D-Reaper is properly introduced.
Fourth Part: Return to the Real World and the war with the D-Reaper.
Now that we are on part two, let us begin the Deva Saga (part one, as we only see most of the Devas and not all of them).
Dx: That was a long explanation.
RDF1: Shoot, I thought I could start this without them showing up!
Jenny: Don't even bother! We won't be leaving your side until you get a Lobotomy or die.
RDF1: That's NOT cheering me up!
Lone Raindrop: Whoever said we HAD to be helpful.
Warriormon: We're OCs, not even real, except in your head.
Dragomon: And that doesn't count for much.
RDF1: Are you guys gonna let me start the fic or do you want to bug me some more!?
(slaps forehead)
RDF1: Shouldn't have said that… START THE FIC!
Disclaimer: RDF1 doesn't own Digimon, read the previous chapters!
Note: Some inspiration, but NOT ALL, for the latter part of this chapter is from Ruki44's story of Digimon Tamers from Rika's POV with AU along the way. Don't worry, you'll read what I mean. By the way, check out her story, it's pretty good. Also, Chapter 7 is the one I'm talking about.
Note2: There is a reason why I'm not deleting the Devas. It will become clear soon!
(Chapter Begin)
(Recap)
As WarGrowlmon landed on the ground below, the Tamers knew that the general public was now aware of Digital Monsters that can attack if they reached the Human World.
"So, how are we going to explain this one again?" asked Henry.
"Well, if Hypnos decides to do damage control and gives us the offer of alliance, I'd say it won't be necessary."
"That's a pretty big 'if', Takato," said Rika, getting closer to him, "And what's this about wanting an alliance with these guys?"
"Well," said Takato, surprising Rika by sneaking an arm around her back, "I'm trying to convince Yamaki to work with us against the Devas, cause it would really be nice to have some backup and some extra help when it came to the Public view."
"I still don't like him," said Rika, glancing away, "His attitude for a long time still bothered me."
"We better get out of here," said Henry, as WarGrowlmon finally focused enough energy back into Megidramon to revert back to Rookie.
"I would suggest caution, but that's not really my style, Takato," spoke up Megidramon, who had been strangely focused during the fight.
"If Mihiramon is able to deliver our message AND, miracle of miracles, we can get an audience with Azulongmon in the Digital World," said Takato, as they started heading out, "Then we can start in on the real threat…"
The other five nodded as they walked, only to be confronted by the three people who would become their teammates in the future.
"Follow us if you want an explanation," said Rika, leaving no room for arguments.
With that, the six humans and three Digimon continued on their way, no one either noticing them or stopping them.
Meanwhile, Yamaki was watching them from a helicopter that had picked him up less than ten minutes ago. Having watched the majority of the battle, he came to a single conclusion.
"Looks like I'll be taking up 'The Hazardous One's' offer. That was too much power to outright challenge, even for us."
(Recap End)
While Hypnos was busy cleaning up the battle with Mihiramon, the Tamers met up the next evening to discuss their next move.
"So, think things will work out like you planned?" asked Henry.
"Not really. Zhuqiaomon is REALLY stubborn. Even IF he's aware of us changing time, not to mention my Hazard Powers. Heck, he's probably angrier that I made Guilmon go to Ultimate level," shrugged Takato, "It'll probably take at least three more Devas for him to even begin to consider something going wrong."
"Well, as long as we can get the message through to Zhuqiaomon, then our city won't have to suffer as much," spoke up Rika, "I never really liked the fact that until our fights with the Devas, we got off virtually scot-free or only had minor damage that Hypnos easily covered up without any problem."
"Well, except for a train, Sandiramon didn't do too much," informed Henry.
(AN1)
"Yeah, so be sure to get the word out when he shows up tomorrow, Rika," added Takato, "Besides, I'm not gonna miss the chance to show the Devas AND that 'Chicken' Sovereign the debut of our flag!"
"You gotta be kidding me, Goggles," sighed Rika, "That thing was ridiculous last time! You can't be serious…"
Rika was cut off when Guilmon pulled out the very flag she despised last time. Eventually, she accepted that it served its purpose, but it was still pretty much unnecessary.
"Hey, this is just the prototype! I'm already working on the finished product with all twenty of us!" replied Takato, slightly miffed that she STILL didn't like the flag, though it was one of the best works of art he ever made. He put his heart and soul into this project, for Azulongmon's sake!
"Wait, twenty?" asked Henry, confused, "You don't mean…?"
"Yep," smiled Takato, "I'm gonna have every Tamer that actually had a Digimon partner last time, including Alice because Dobermon's sacrifice won't be necessary, as well as the twins and Impmon." He then adopted a more sober look, "Look, every team, super powers or not, had a banner or emblem to represent them. I wanted to make something to represent 'us'."
"I know that," said Rika, in a caring tone, "And that's wonderful, but I don't like to lie and I think that it's unnecessary. But just because I think that doesn't mean I'm right or you're wrong. It's just a personal preference for me."
Takato could understand where she was coming from, but at the same time, he wasn't going to back down on this, so as she said, she'll just not like it.
"Okay, it's getting late, and we all got plans tomorrow, right?" proposed Henry.
The other two agreed, and they each headed their separate ways.
(AN2)
The following morning, Takato got dressed in his usual clothes and had just finished breakfast when his mother called out.
"Takato, you're friends are here to see you," called out Yoshie.
"Be right there!" called back Takato, before finishing up, cleaning up as well, and heading out to the front door of the family bakery, "Hey guys."
Takato wasn't surprised to see about half his class there, but he was disappointed in the fact that ONLY the half that talked about the soccer field showed up. You just can't get enough kids interested these days.
"Hey, Takato," said Kazu, "We were just in the neighborhood… and uh…"
"Now, why don't I believe that?" smirked Takato with a raised eyebrow.
"Takato," said Jeri, trying to be a bit stern, especially after meeting Guilmon with Kazu and Kenta after the battle with Mihiramon, but not succeeding as Takato wasn't affected, "Be nice!"
"Yeah," said Kazu, agreeing with Jeri, as he didn't want to get into a losing argument with her, something all boys learned around this age Takato noticed, "We just brought them over to meet Guilmon."
"Well," shrugged Takato, "Since I have nothing better to do…" he poked his head back inside the automatic door for a moment, "MOM! I'm heading to the park with my friends. I'll be back later!"
"Okay," replied Yoshie, "Just be sure to be back by three for your shift!"
"Understood!" finished Takato, before heading back out again, "Alright, follow me."
About ten minutes later, they found an empty section of the park where Takato mentally informed Guilmon on the way over.
"Okay, everyone…" introduced Takato, "meet Guilmon. Guilmon… meet half my classmates."
"It's a pleasure to meet you," said Guilmon, bowing slightly.
"See guys," boasted Kazu, "I told you Digimon existed! And you guys didn't believe me!"
"I'm gonna go ahead and call 'Hypocrite'," countered Takato, smirking, "Because not too long ago, you weren't a believer yourself!"
(AN3)
"Oh come on! You're gonna bring THAT little misunderstanding, buddy!" attempted Kazu to brush it off.
"Yeah," continued Takato, still smirking, "A misunderstanding that could have been avoided if 'someone' was patient by about 2 more seconds!"
This got everyone to laugh at Kazu, except Jeri, who didn't like the fact that Takato was making fun of one of his friends, and Kenta, who was in the same situation as Kazu.
"Okay guys, before we get started having fun," said Takato, "Anyone shares this without my express permission will suffer dire consequences, alright?"
Takato was bluffing to be sure, but the fact that he had gained a TON of confidence in taking the lead over the past year, no one really questioned him anyways. While individual introductions were happening, Kenta headed out to 'borrow' a grocery cart and everyone started on having some real fun.
Awhile later, their fun was interrupted by a familiar voice, at least to Takato and Guilmon it was familiar.
"You are so pathetic!" called out Impmon, "You call yourself a Digimon? What, no action lately since that Juggernaut thing happened?"
"How do you know about the Juggernaut?" asked Takato, intrigued by his knowledge.
"Seriously? I eavesdropped on your little conversation with that Blondie government human," replied Impmon, and it sounded credible too, "You humans don't really pay attention to your surroundings, even in a crisis! BA-BOOM!"
"Takato, who's he?" asked Jeri, curious, but also slightly intimidated by Impmon's attitude.
(AN4)
"His name is Impmon," informed Takato, "He's the prankster in the park from a few weeks ago. And he's promised not to prank that often."
"HEY! I've kept my promise!" countered Impmon, offended, "It hasn't been easy, but I've only pulled three pranks the past two weeks."
"Well, if you ever decide to join us for some fun, we'll be here," said Takato, as he turned the other way and everyone started to move their playtime towards the other end of the field.
"Oh great," said Impmon, to no one in particular, "Now I'm getting INVITES from these kids."
"Missing someone?" came a query from a familiar voice.
"What do you mean!?" demanded Impmon, feeling offended by that remark, even if it WAS somewhat true.
"I could tell part of you WANTED to get in on their fun," said Renamon, from another tree over.
"Well, your 'fox instincts' are wrong on this one!" countered Impmon, and Renamon could tell he was trying to convince himself as much as her.
Renamon decided to leave Impmon be, as she headed off to meet up with Rika, as they were due for some 'shopping' soon.
Meanwhile, Rika was smiling, having enjoyed a decent play, even IF a monkey wrote it, while waiting for the train that would take her and her grandmother to the station nearest home. Suddenly, a chill went down Rika's spine as her Digivice activated. At first glance, she noticed her Digivice reacting to Calumon, which put her at ease. Having him around would be a big help. Suddenly, fog started entering the area.
"Calumon! Over here!" called out Rika putting on her sunglasses, getting Calumon's attention.
"Rika? What's going on?" asked her grandmother.
"I'll explain later," replied Rika, "Get to safety!"
"'Safety'? But what about you?" asked her grandmother.
"I'll be fine! We'll talk later!" replied Rika, handing her off to a guard before running back in without being seen.
After the smoke cleared, Rika was looking directly into the face of the second Deva: Sandiramon.
"Okay, got it," said Rika, as Renamon phased in, "Glad Goggles updated my Digivice."
Sandiramon
Level: Ultimate
Type: Virus
Class: Deva
Attacks: Viper Lance, Viral Data Corruption
(AN5)
"I guess that explains what he does to the train," said Rika, "Renamon, let's keep him busy!"
"With pleasure," replied Renamon.
DIGI-MODIFY: MAMEMON'S SMIRK BOMB ATTACK ACTIVATE!
"Smirk Bomb Barrage!" shouted Renamon, launching a flurry of Energy Bombs at the giant snake, only for the snake to disperse the energy with minimal effort.
"Okay, time to do this the RIGHT way!" said Rika, turning to smile at Calumon, who smiled back as he activated his Crystal Matrix.
Renamon Digivolve to…
Kyuubimon!
Sandiramon used that time to head down the tracks and avoid an escalating situation.
"This is what I've been waiting for!" exclaimed Rika as she and Calumon got on Kyuubimon's back as they charged after Sandiramon, "Riding into battle on the back of a Nine-Tailed Fox! You can't beat that!"
"Looks like Takato's not the only one that has similarities to Naruto," teased Kyuubimon.
"Shut up and prepare for a speed up," blushed Rika, as she brought out her next card.
DIGI-MODIFY: HYPER SPEED ACTIVATE!
Soon, they came upon a train coming from the opposite direction. Coincidentally enough, Henry was on this train with Terriermon.
"VIRAL DATA CORRUPTION!" shouted Sandiramon, turning the train into data molecules, before noticing a small child on the floor in the middle and added, "VIPER LANCE!"
"I DON'T THINK SO!" came Henry's voice from the station ahead.
DIGI-MODIFY: WARGREYMON'S BRAVE SHIELD ACTIVATE!
Using the Digi-Chrome shield, Terriermon blocked the attack while Henry picked up the child and all three of them left before the train completely dispersed into Data, which Sandiramon absorbed. After returning the child to his mother, they looked back to see Kyuubimon heading by with a streak of flame behind her.
"HEY! WATCH OUT FOR THAT THIRD RAIL!" called out Henry.
"FIND GOGGLEHEAD! HE SHOULD BE AT THE PARK ABOVE THE NEXT STATION!" replied Rika, ignoring the comment for the most part, as Kyuubimon had been taking extra care, even with the added speed factored in.
"Fine then…" scoffed Henry, "But don't blame me if you get shocked."
Henry headed up to find the quickest way to the park. Upon getting there, he noticed Impmon resting in a tree.
"HEY IMPMON!" called out Henry, noting the entrance to the Subway a couple blocks away, "TELL TAKATO RIKA AND I WILL BE SHOPPING FOR SOME SNAKE BOOTS AND A NEW HANDBAG DOWN BELOW!"
"Oh you gotta be kidding me!" sighed Impmon, "Now I'm reduced to Messenger boy! THERE'S A REASON WHY I DON'T LIKE HUMANS!"
He grumbled, but complied as he headed out across the trees to find the humans still playing their game.
"YO! DINOBOY!" called out Impmon, getting Takato's attention.
"What is it this time, Impmon?" asked Takato, who had gotten caught up in the fun they were having.
"Brainiac just told me he's getting with your girl and they were buying some snake-skinned items, if you catch my drift!"
"Oh you gotta be kidding me!" exclaimed Takato in disgust.
"What is it, Takato?" asked Jeri.
"I completely forgot about this! I was going to meet up with them around this time!" explained Takato, easily covering the time traveling aspect, "Excuse me for a few minutes guys."
Everyone backed up as Takato and Guilmon found the right spot. Takato pulled out a card, "You guys need to stay back, cause this is the real deal. Time to show you what a Tamer's truly about."
DIGI-MODIFY: DIGMON'S DRILLS ACTIVATE!
Guilmon's hands turned into drills and he started digging.
"Um, isn't that a little excessive? I mean, the nearest entrance is only a few blocks away?" asked Kenta.
"Don't care, this is really cool," replied Kazu, not really caring why Takato was doing this.
"Sometimes it doesn't pay to actually bother these people," said Impmon to himself, "I'm going back to bed."
With that Impmon left the humans and tried to find a secluded area to continue his nap.
Things weren't looking good, Gargomon and Kyuubimon were at a disadvantage, mainly because neither was ready to reveal their ability to go Ultimate themselves, and they were kinda stalling for time until the third member of their trio showed up. Luckily, or rather unluckily if you were Sandiramon, Takato and Guilmon showed up right above Sandiramon, canceling out his attack.
"ROCK CRACKIN'!" called out Guilmon, using his drills one last time.
It didn't do much as the drills broke against the tough scales. Takato and Guilmon jumped down to join the others.
"It's not nice to keep your girlfriend waiting, Goggles," remarked Rika.
"Yeah, yeah," said Takato, "this was my first day of fun since traveling back. I got caught up in it, so sorry!"
"You made a great entrance though," added Henry, "A decent bit of flashiness I might add."
"Thanks," replied Takato, feeling better, before focusing on the snake, "Shall we?"
"Let's do it!" agreed Guilmon.
Guilmon Digivolve to…
GROWLMON!
'Giving you Hazard Power at 28 percent,' chimed in Megidramon.
'Thanks, and where have you been today?' replied back Takato.
'Resting,' informed Megidramon, 'I gave you nearly 40% of my power in one go after Guilmon got all the way to WarGrowlmon. You may not realize it, but using that much power after the previous times, which was about 5-10% except for the Devidramon fight, which was 20%, I needed a bit of rest. Don't get used to it. By the time we reach the Digital World, I could give you a full 75% boost at once and the next day do nearly the same thing. It's just yours and Guilmon's body adjusting to my power.'
'Good to know,' finished Takato, before adding out loud, "This snake isn't worth catching, better throw him back!"
"I agree," said Rika, "Triple combo strike, GO!
"DRAGON WHEEL!"
"GARGO LASERS!"
"PYRO BLASTER!"
Sandiramon summoned another lance to try and block the triple assault, but it broke before the combination attack knocked him back. Even still, he snickered.
"Very impressive indeed, Hazard barer," informed Sandiramon.
"Finally got you to speak up, huh?" said Rika, "Now talk! Why didn't Mihiramon deliver our message!"
"Oh, we got your little message, but the thing is… Zhuqiaomon is holding all three of you accountable for the Timeline disruption you have caused! Until you are defeated or present your case directly in front of the Sovereign Four, you will be hunted down by each of the 12 Devas!"
"Figures as much," said Takato, "Never knew Zhuqiaomon as a forgiving Mon."
"Quite true, Hazard barer," replied Sandiramon, "You especially because of your active use of the Hazard Power, including against me. You will be punished for allowing that power to survive! We, the Devas, will NOT stop until you and the Hazard are destroyed!"
With that, a fog bank appeared around Sandiramon. When it lifted, Sandiramon had disappeared, back to the Digital World.
"Well that explains that," said Henry, "Looks like we'll just have to send back every Deva that comes our way until they get a clue we're not ones to be messed with."
"Indeed," said Rika, "However, I can understand why they'll be after us now. I mean, it may not have been our fault, but we still did make decisions to change our world based on that."
"Hey, it's made some things better, that's for sure," replied Takato, kissing Rika on the cheek.
"Oh, I won't deny that," replied Rika, giving one back.
"So…" said Henry, after a moment, "Shall we make a grand entrance?"
"Well, Takato DID give us a tunnel to work with," remarked Gargomon, getting a smirk out of Kyuubimon.
All six of them headed up the tunnel and entered the park. All the kids were there from before and they were amazed at the sight before them. Gargo was a favorite from the Digimon Series, while Kyuubimon had a good impression, even if some Naruto Fans in the group said it was a potential rip-off. It was something no one brought up again. But Growlmon, a one-of-a-kind Digimon was the real prize. Having seen a real Digimon that NO ONE has ever heard of before definitely was up there on the list of rare and unique events that happened in one's life.
"Well, you guys know the drill. Unless we give the okay, you can't share this with ANYONE. Not even our classmates, understand?" prompted Takato.
(AN6)
"Yes sir!" replied the group.
Suddenly, Rika's Cell phone went off.
"Rika here," answered Rika.
"Rika, it's grandma! Are you alright!" came the worried voice of Rika's Grandmother.
"I'm fine Grandma. I met up with my friends and got to safety," replied Rika, "Look, we'll talk tonight, I promise."
"Okay. But be good and be home by dinnertime. You're mother's able to be home tonight."
"Sure thing, Grandma. Goodbye," finished Rika, before turning to Takato, "There's no two ways about it, I'm gonna tell Grandma about Renamon. At least this way Renamon will be free to roam the house most days instead of just staying out of sight."
"Sounds good," said Takato.
"Um, guys," said Kenta, "Not to rain on this parade, but we might want to get out of here before the police start investigating."
"Come on guys," said Takato, "To my secret base!"
"Last one there has to hang out with Impmon!" teased Kazu, getting everyone a running start.
(Digital World – Sovereign Level)
Sandiramon appeared before Zhuqiaomon, bowing low with respect.
"The charges have been stated, my lord!" said Sandiramon.
"Good," said Zhuqiaomon, "Those wretched humans have done enough damage as it is. Should the Hazard ever be fully released… Should HE ever return, then all the Quadrants are in Danger, not just my own."
(AN7)
(Real World – Rika's House)
That evening, after supper was finished and Rumiko headed off to get a bath for the evening, Rika led her grandmother out back, away from Rumiko. Not to long afterwards did Renamon appear, already bowing before Rika's grandmother. She was a kind woman with a heart of gold, and passionate spirit that would qualify her as a Digital World Chosen one should she be of the right age now.
"Oh my goodness," said Rika's grandmother, Seiko, "Is SHE the one you've been talking to all this time?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" asked Rika.
"I don't mean to eavesdrop, but I do like to take a walk here in the garden every now and again," explained Seiko, as Renamon stood up, "and sometimes I overhear you talking with someone, or just another voice entirely when you have been sleeping."
Rika turned to Renamon in curiosity, who held a similar look. Renamon took many precautions in hiding herself, but this woman managed to notice her anyways.
"Yes, actually," said Rika, "Her name is Renamon and she's my partner Digimon."
"When a Digimon and a Human partner up, it is the Digimon's job to protect their Human Partners while Humans give strength to their Digimon partners to better protect others," explained Renamon, trying to get the bulk of the information over with.
"Well, this also certainly explains you're 'afternoon walks', I believe," replied Seiko.
"Actually, some of them ARE just walks. I enjoy wandering a bit here and there to get more familiar with this territory."
"Territory?" exclaimed Seiko, confused that Rika would choose such a word.
Luckily, Rika already had this covered ages ago.
"Yeah, most Digimon, for some reason or another, seem to keep popping up around this city, and this city alone. I walk around the city to get a feel for all the shortcuts I might need in order to get to where the Digimon appear and help Renamon as quick as I can."
"I see," said Seiko, mulling it over, "Well, I'm not happy about you heading into danger, and I want you to promise me that you will be as careful as you can…"
"Yes, ma'am," replied Rika immediately, she knew her grandmother was more accepting of her tomboy nature than her mother, but even still, she wanted to let this go right early, so she could still be a Digimon Tamer without disobeying her family.
"Same goes to you Renamon," added Seiko, "I want you to protect my granddaughter. She means the world to me…"
"Of course," replied Renamon, moving back into her bowing position, "It is an oath I took upon becoming her Digimon Partner. I would rather face deletion than see Rika harmed in any way by another Digimon."
"Good. Now then, before your mother finishes her bath, I want you to know, Renamon, that you are free to join us whenever Rumiko isn't around, at least until you tell her yourself," finished Seiko, as she turned to head back into the house to get started on the supper dishes.
(AN8)
"Well, that takes care of that. Be sure to join us tomorrow for breakfast after my mom heads out," said Rika.
"Sure thing," replied Renamon, "But I'm assuming there's a reason why we're not including your mother now?"
"I don't feel ready yet, even with the changes I've made, and the progress I've made with her," said Rika, "Heck, even with Grandma, it was a bit forced back in the subway. I don't know HOW she let that go last time."
"Either way, things will be different now," finished Renamon.
Rika nodded, and they headed their separate ways for the night.
The next morning, after Rumiko left for the next photo shoot session, Renamon appeared and sat down at the table, where Seiko and Rika were still enjoying breakfast. This was the first meal in quite a long time that Renamon didn't find for herself or given to her by Rika, and she was very grateful. She may be fox, but even SHE couldn't resist a wonderful homemade meal like this forever.
"So, Rika, I was talking with your mother last night," spoke up Seiko, "And she has signed the permission form for your trip this weekend. Here you go."
"Thank you, Grandma," said Rika, who was actually excited about this adventure.
Last time, she felt a bit cheated when Takato and Henry told her about this, while she had been at school, followed by spending time alone at home, as there was no Digimon attacks all weekend, which wasn't a big deal in the long run, but that battle was definitely one she would have liked to have been apart of. Thankfully, she inadvertently allowed herself to go there this time.
(AN9)
The next day, the class was getting ready for their trip to nature when Rika met up with Henry.
"So, I heard Takato snuck Guilmon on the bus last time," remarked Rika as they looked around at all the kids allowed on the trip, "My question is, with what we defined for our classmates, how is Takato gonna keep the secret?"
"That was just for show," replied Henry, "Not to mention, last time, he had his classmates hid Guilmon from clear view until they got on the bus, and then we sat on him until the teachers went to sleep. Strangely enough, the Bus Driver didn't mind it one bit."
"This I gotta see," smirked Rika, as he saw Takato approach from the park.
Interestingly enough, Takato didn't have Guilmon; he had Gigimon in his arms.
"Points for ingenuity," commented Rika.
"Yeah, a lot of people were involved last time," added Henry, "Though, last time we had no clue how to De-Digivolve our partners."
"Well that would have been good to know," said Rika, "Viximon would have been a better choice, but this works as well."
Rika opened up her book bag to reveal Calumon. He jumped out and Rika closed her bag up and picked up Calumon. Takato joined the two of them after seeing Ms. Asaji for a few moments and they boarded the bus and headed to the back, where they waited for Ms. Asaji to fall asleep. Gigimon Digivolved back into Guilmon shortly afterwards.
"By the way, Takato," asked Jeri, who was sitting next to Rika, "What did you give Ms. Asaji?"
"Extra Strength sleeping pills crushed into powder and then baked into a loaf that I gave Ms. Asaji just before we got on the bus," replied Takato, "Trust me, she will NOT be waking up until we get to the campsite."
"Nice work, Takato," said Rika, "You're seriously getting devious!"
"Meh," shrugged Takato, "I just hope you brought earplugs."
"Got one better," replied Rika, pulling out her headphones.
Luckily, the headphones worked and Rika was spared the brunt of Kenta's awful singing. Upon reaching the campsite, everyone immediately separated for lunch, where everyone first privy to the secret sat together with Takato and Guilmon. When Ms. Asaji, feeling a bit more rejuvenated after her 'nap', reminded the group to get their tent(s) set up. Kazu let the tamers go have fun while they fixed everything up. As the tamers headed out, Renamon appearing, the others got out four sleeping tents, two for the girls and two for the guys.
(AN10)
The Tamers were walking across the bridge shortly after sunset when they heard a flock of birds flew by with a Digital Field created as they were flying. They looked up and noticed it as the Cloud moved to the forest across the bridge away from the Campsite.
"Oh boy," sighed Rika, "Why us?"
"You really got to ask?" quipped Takato.
"Meh, someone's got to every now and again," shrugged Henry.
"Want to head back before curfew or stay out late, letting the others cover for us?" asked Takato.
Both of them gave him a look: let the others handle the Teachers.
Meanwhile, back at camp, Jeri and the girls managed to convince the teachers that Rika had gone to bed early, while Kazu and the boys managed to do the same for Takato and Henry. They just hoped the Tamers would be back soon, otherwise EVERYONE would get in trouble.
Meanwhile, back in the City, at Hypnos to be precise, Riley and Tally were tracking the movements of the new Digimon. Once it grew in power by draining most of the City did they contact Yamaki. When he got there, he looked up at the signal just as it finished its growth.
"Hmm," mused Yamaki, "That Digimon was growing in strength. I have a bad feeling if those tamers don't keep it in check, it'll absorb power from the entire Country before the end of the week!"
"Sir," said Riley, "I'm picking readings from the Hazard signal. It's Guilmon, along with five other readings."
"That must be the 'Hazardous One's' team. These Tamers should have it under control by tomorrow night; otherwise I'm calling him. In the mean time, finish preparing the contract. I'm not leaving anything to chance."
"Yes sir!" came the reply.
The next morning, the Tamers managed to sneak away during swim time to be able to play with their Digmon. Rika, much to her embarrassment, agreed to take a bikini as part of a previous agreement. Rika didn't mind AS much, since it was a style she herself chose; however, having her boyfriend see her at THIS age in a Bikini is a bit much. To her happiness and amusement, Takato couldn't keep his face from blushing whenever he looked at her, something she enjoyed. Renamon, not one for water, opted for Sun-tanning in a clearing not too far from the other Digimon.
(AN11)
'By the way, Rika,' informed Renamon, 'Impmon tagged along, just like they said he did last time.'
'Good to know,' replied Rika, "You-know-who should be showing up soon."
"Yep, we got it," replied Takato, before taking a rock and throwing it at a seemingly random tree.
"Ow!" came Impmon's voice, "Can you STOP trying to injure me, especially when I'm keeping my word?"
"Do you HAVE to stalk us?" asked Rika, giving him a slight glare, nothing too serious, but just enough to scare him a bit.
"Oh come on, you know as well as I do about the Digimon nearby!" countered Impmon.
"Yeah, and…?" deadpanned Takato.
"What, you're gonna leave a Digimon to free roam in this area? Especially a Deva!?" demanded Impmon.
"The DEVA has arrived!" came the completely UNWELCOMED owl.
"Yeah, we know," said Henry, disinterested.
"The DEVA!" continued the owl, before being knocked out by Renamon.
"He is disturbing my tanning," explained Renamon, "Also, Sinduramon is here."
"That was rude," said Sinduramon.
"Yeah, just like you guys listening to Zhuqiaomon over your OWN leaders!" countered Takato.
"The other Sovereigns have more important business to attend to and Lord Zhuqiaomon has need of us to punish you!" replied Sinduramon.
Sinduramon took to the air, with the Digimon heading after it, minus Impmon and Calumon, since they couldn't Digivolve.
"You guys, ready?" asked Henry.
"One moment," said Takato, pulling out a small notepad and scribbling a small note on it, "Calumon, can you take this to Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, and the others? We should be back in about an hour."
Calumon nodded, taking the note, and flew off. The Tamers got dressed with the extra set of clothes they carried for this emergency situation.
"You sure that's okay?" asked Rika as Henry led the way.
"It buys us some time while we take care of this chicken/Rooster," said Takato as they ran, "Besides, Gargomon and Growlmon took him on with minimal help, courtesy of convenient water at the 'HYDRO-Electric' dam."
"Makes sense," noted Rika, as they got to the road with an oh-so-convenient bus stopping by.
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the plant to see Sinduramon attempting to hit the Digimon, but nothing could connect. Renamon was as graceful as ever, while Terriermon's size and use of ears allowed him to us the air to his advantage. Guilmon, however, was using a portion of Hazard Strength Takato sent him earlier and using is as a substitute for Hyper-speed.
"What took you three so long?" asked Renamon, gracefully dodging another attack.
"We had to take the bus, so sue us!" countered Rika, pulling out a card.
Takato and Henry also pulled out a card, while Takato channeled a bit more power into Guilmon.
DIGI-MODIFY: POWER(x3) ACTIVATE!
"Our turn," said Guilmon, glowing red.
PYRO SPHERE!
BUNNY BLAST!
DIAMOND STORM!
The Hazardous Red Sphere was surrounded by energy bubbles and glowing white shards of light as the combo attack collided with Sinduramon, knocking him off his perch.
DIGI-MODIFY: DIGIVOLUTION ACTIVATE!
Guilmon DIGIVOLVE TO…
Growlmon!
Terriermon DIGIVOLVE TO…
Gargomon!
Renamon DIGIVOLVE TO…
Kyuubimon!
PYRO BLASTER!
GARGO LASERS!
FOX TAIL INFERNO!
The Champion-level combination attack hit Sinduramon dead on, causing a small warp to appear, sending Sinduramon back to the Digital World.
"And that's oddly Anti-Climatic," spoke a slightly confused Rika.
"Well, we were pretty much in sync during this fight," commented Henry as the Digimon De-Digivolved back to Rookie.
(AN12)
"You guys better get back to camp your own way. Don't want the teachers seeing you three!" added Takato, as the Tamers headed back to the road to catch a ride back to camp.
The Renamon grabbed on the other two as the three of them disappeared.
"Sir, the Wild one has been forced back through the barrier," informed Riley.
"Good," said Yamaki, "Another one for the Tamers' records. Keep me informed of any other Bio-Emergence, and let me know when that contract is finished. I'm going for coffee."
The Tamers returned, and none too soon, as it was time for supper and a headcount was being done. Luckily things worked out and the rest of the camping trip was a success. The Tamers shared a smile at a good vacation, even if they had to deal with a Deva. They were ready for the next one, or two.
(Chapter End)
WOW! That was LONG overdue! BUT DON'T ABANDON ME PEOPLE! IT'S READERS LIKE YOU THAT KEEP ME GOING, EVEN AFTER MONTHS BETWEEN UPDATES!
But seriously, Life can get in the way and many, many interruptions keep me from dedicating myself to this all the time. So, after this chapter, it will be LoS: DotS! Happy Holidays!
And, in the spirit of Christmas Tradition, as I have with the past two December Digimon Updates: A Christmas Carol, but this one is for Rika!
Rika: Do I HAVE to!?
RDF1: Not really, but you'll be disappointing a LOT of fans!
Rika: Fine… I'll just rip off Kari's version for myself.
T'was a Digimon Christmas, and there was Shopping a Plenta.
Especially from the likes of Kazu and Kenta
Ai played with Mako, Henry and Terriermon ate
Dobermon saw Alice, isn't that great?
Suzie and Lopmon tried a little sushi
While Calumon sat on Jeri's tushi
Guilmon went caroling, while Impmon's thankful for the Twins
And in Takato's dreams, the fun never ends
Rika: I'm only disappointed I couldn't add in Leomon and Renamon, but since Gatomon wasn't in Kari's version, I think that can slide.
Kari: I had to leave Sora and Biyomon out of it, mainly cause it wouldn't be able to rhyme AND be the same length. I had to work with what I got.
RDF1: Well, I am glad that things worked out. If anyone can add in ALL the Tamers and their Digimon, feel free to send it to me! I will welcome ALL versions. If there's enough before Christmas, I may put it as a separate chapter by Christmas Eve Day. Looking forward to it!
Rika/Kari: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Now, AUTHOR NOTES!
AN1: Running theme: Until the Devas came the damage was relatively light. I know the Devas are powerful, especially the Pig Deva, Vikaralamon, but still…
AN2: Yeah, never really find out what Henry during this particular episode. It seems kinda random/convenient that he's on that particular train.
AN3: Seriously, Takato should have called Kazu out on this in the original. Luckily, there is Fanfiction, where Fanfic writers can say 'we're not letting this go'! LOLZ!
AN4: DEEP SCARRING MEMORIES! Too bad Jeri doesn't know that. She just knows he's a mini-devil… I.E. Imp and imps cause trouble wherever they go!
AN5: Yeah, needed SOMETHING to explain about the Train, because as we all know, THIS IS THE REASON WHY… 'THE TRAIN IS LATE'! (Chuggaa reference!)
AN6: Takato is really stepping up as a leader, huh?
AN7: This needs a scene because… my fanfic!
AN8: Seiko is more than likely retired and being a Super Model DOES pay well. (I just don't like reading people putting her in a VERY demeaning and derogatory position JUST because she's around thirty and Rika over ten.)
AN9: Yes, I was aware of this, and this is intentional. I DID state that this chapter had partial inspiration from Ruki44.
AN10: With Rika there, they need more space to compensate the extra people.
AN11: Well, as a fox, she doesn't like getting wet that often. Do you know how hard it is to dry off fur!?
AN12: Get it… N-SYNC!? LOLZ! I know; I'm terrible! But you have to admit, that was pretty well coordinated.
Okay, until next time…
Later,
RDF1
