Disclaimer- I do not own Twilight

It had been a week or so since I talked to Edward. Every once in a while, the image of him flits through my mind…but I've been trying to keep myself busy.

"Get out, Garret. Rose is coming over."

I delicately pulled the burning joint from between his lips, and snubbed it out in the glass ashtray that sat next to my bed.

He blew out small puffs of white smoke and turned his gaze in my direction. His dirty blonde hair fell in messy curls around his face. I couldn't help but quickly sweep my eyes over his lanky chiseled form. Tattooed on his chest was a beautiful dove that he had told me once was to honor his mother.

He never told me what happened to her, or if anything happened to her. I didn't ask though, we don't talk too much about our lives with each other.

Garret sat up, his movements slow with ease. I felt his fingers comb gently through my hair, then I closed my eyes as I felt his warm lips press against my shoulder. He nuzzled his scruffy face into my neck and then breathed a short, "Later" to me.

He pulled his fitted baby blue shirt back over his head, and swiftly pulled his torn up jeans over his cute checkered boxers.

"Nice seeing you." I told him.

"Yeah, it was nice seeing you too."

"Gar?"

"What?"

"You forgot your shoes." I tried to keep my face straight, but I couldn't help but giggle at the barefooted stoned boy in my room.

He cracked a small grin. The thought of leaning down to get them must have faced too much of a challenge for him though, because he gracefully scooped his shoes up by the laces and tossed them over his shoulder.

"Want me to close the door?" He asked, peaking at me once more before he left.

"Yes. Thanks." I answered, watching as his hazy blue eyes lingered on me for a second too long.

"Never a problem, Bella." And with that, I heard the click of the door being shut.

I met Garret at a party that I went to in Seattle. He had been the hottest guy there, also the most mysterious. He sat in a small group of friends in the back, and...Garr is just a sexy thing. Maybe I have a type. Tall and vague.

Of course I don't think about other tall and vague boys anymore though. Nope, not me.

And I defiantly do not think of the ones with crazy beautiful green eyes.

I got snapped out of my thoughts of how I am not thinking about that guy by the sound of someone rapping their knuckles against my door frame. Most specifically, ring clad fingers with little cheetah print stick on nail polish stickers.

"Seriously babes, Garret is still a VIP in the kitty committee?" Rose asked, rolling her eyes.

"Um yes. Have you seen him? He looks even better when he's fulfilling his VIP status." I answered, as she sat down in the chair next to my desk.

"Bella, you are a slut. Any who, there's this new girl Annita, and I heard she's like…abstinent." Rose said while looking at her nails. She gently began to rotate the ring on her middle finger around in a circle.

"Wow, I wonder how long that will last." I replied, not quite as interested as Rose wanted me to display.

"You wanna go shopping today? I want to relish in the freedom of no longer being grounded"

"Sure. Why were you even grounded?"

"I didn't tell you? Well, I walked into the house and mom was there. Shocker, right? Anyways, I was not prepared for her presence and I might have had a little bit too much to drink, and she was all, "Rosalie Lynn Hale, have you been drinking?" and I of course was like "Oh no, of course not mother, I'm just tired". Then I proceeded to throw up all over her new Gucci bag." Rose replayed, her face cringing a bit as she relived the memory.

"Shiiitttt, I would have smacked the fuck outta your drunk ass." I laughed, picking up my cell phone and wallet.

She laughed, "I probably would have to."

I walked down the steps with Rose trailing behind me.

Sadly I ran into a huge piece of plastic on my way down.

"Isabella, please watch where you're going." Tanya chastised, smoothing her white tank top down over her flat abdomen.

"Um, sorry." I muttered, attempting to ease my way around her without receiving any smart ass comments from her mouth.

Tanya's eyes swept down my attire with an unapproving glance, her face became pinched looking at she continued to evaluate me.

"Your father wants to have a nice family meal tonight." She said, pausing a moment so her cold eyes could meet mine, "So please try and look presentable…"

Tanya pursed her lips and glanced at Rose. "If Bella and I could have a minute, Rosalie? If you go sit in the kitchen, I just made a fresh batch of cookies that you can help yourself to", Tanya suggested in a seemingly sweet polite manner. She just sounded like a royal bitch from my prospective though.

"I'll be waiting in the car." Rosalie answered shortly, shooting me a sympathetic glace.

Tanya waited a moment until she heard the sound of the front door clicking shut until she turned back to look at me. A sickly sweet smile graced her face, but her eyes still looked as hard as cement.

"I know what it's like to be young. I was a teenager once too, and Isabella, you don't have to be so desperate for attention. How you dress yourself can come off a bit desperate looking at time. I know it's hard when your body and personality have quite some growing up to do. You don't need to use that as an excuse to put everything out there though, so people will notice you though. Quite frankly, it's demeaning to women, and not to sound harsh, but a tad bit pathetic. So tonight, for dinner, please take my advice into consideration." Tanya simpered to me, her voice taking on the effect of dripping black honey.

She gently took her clawed hand and grasped my shoulder. She squeezed a bit too hard to be counted as caring though.

Heat spread through my veins as her words processed through my mind. I wanted to yell at her tell her she's just jealous of my youth, or smack that fake simpering smile off her face. I could feel adrenaline course through my body, and the longer I stood there, I knew the more probable it was becoming that I was going to tackle her to the ground.

I'm not sure what I said to her. Maybe I grunted, or said some form of "okay", but I made sure to not let my eyes drop to the floor. I would not let her see any signs of weakness in me.

Just as I was seriously contemplating how much trouble I would get in if I told her to fuck off, the sound of her cell phone ringing sounded from upstairs.

As she turned with one last smug smile to walk up the stairs, I quickly headed out towards the front door.

When I got to the door, it took all the strength I could muster in myself not to yank it open and slam it hard enough to rattle the house. I didn't want to give Tanya that sense of satisfaction that she had managed to strike a nerve within my body.

Rosalie must have seen the war raging in my eyes, because when I got in her car, she immediately graced me with her kindest smile and began to pull out of the drive way.

After a few moments of silence, I opened her glove compartment and took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. I quickly lit one, and inhaled deeply.

How can someone be such a bitch? How did Charlie end up marrying such a cow? Is he oblivious or just stupid?

"It is so hard living with the one person you consider killing on a daily basis." I finally said.

"I'm sorry, sweetie." Rose sympathized. I could tell she wasn't sure what to say about the whole situation, but that's okay, because I really did not want to talk about it.

"Sorry to switch the subject hon, but do you want to go to Green Valley Mall?"

"Sounds goods."

"Hi, I'm Leah, would you like your measurements taken today?" a small tan skinned girl asked me. Her hair was cut into the style of a sleek blonde bob. Her eyes were dark, dark brown, and she had full pretty lips like the natives from the rez.

"No thanks." I answered, shooing her to get out of my way.

I felt a comfort well up in my chest as I watched color flood her cheeks as she quickly scampered out of my way. I watched her eyes nervously dart to an older women who looked like her manager maybe.

"Can I help you find anything?" she squeaked, keeping her eyes on the floor.

I waited until she glanced back up at me and replied, "If I need help with anything, I'll make sure to ask you." It sounded simple enough, but I heard my tone become icy, and felt my eyes frost.

She nodded and looked away again.

Maybe I should feel guilty for making someone lesser than me feel like shit just because I have the power to. Maybe I should feel even worse that it brings me a sick satisfaction to know that I can intimidate people. I don't though. I just feel proud.

I meandered away from the sale girl, and Rose snorted loudly at what just took place in front of her.

I walked up to the bras and began looking through them. I picked up a deep burgundy one and couldn't decide if I should get the dark satin blue one, or lacy black set.

In the middle of my decision I heard, "Edward, someone's already looking. I-I don't want to get in her way." A small voice said quietly from behind me.

Automatically my ears perked up at the name. I've only met one Edward.

I pivoted my shoulders slightly, and out of the corner of my eye I saw the glint of the eyebrow ring, and the dark hair.

"Don't worry about her." He reassured her.

I quickly picked up the black lacy bra and turned around. As I turned I met his eyes, his beautiful grass green eyes. My eyes slid over, next to him was a mousy little girl though. She couldn't have been more than 5 foot and had on thick rimmed glasses. Her mouth was too thin and her face a tad too wide.

I felt my lips curl up in a vicious smile. Looks like Edward has a type too. The weak and less fortunate ones seemed to be his type. It made me sick to my stomach.

"Hey, Edward" I smiled, "and who's this?" I questioned, giving the small girl a calculative once over. She noticed, and I watched as she hunched her tiny shoulders and crumbled into herself under my gaze.

His type is the weak pathetic ones.

"A-alice." She stuttered, bringing up her hand, that I noticed had a slight tremor in it.

Who shakes hands anymore, really? I smirked, and looked at her hand, to her face, and then my gaze drifted over to Edward, whose eyes were locked on me. His expression usually one of disinterest and calmness was now unrecognizable. His mouth was in a sharp line, and his eyes glared at me with disdain. He looked…disgusted.

I didn't let my own smirk waver, but I felt a little lurch in the center of my chest. Almost kind of a dropping feeling…

I quickly grabbed her hand, as if I was hoping I was grabbing relief from the sudden ache in my chest. My other hand pressed against my chest, trying to get rid of the horrible sensation.

"Hi, I'm Bella." I introduced, her small hand was hot and delicate.

Suddenly her eyes glazed over and she jerked her hand out of my grasp and gasped.

Hey! It's me, sorry for the long delay. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Thank you for the reviews(:
