Shirou was falling through the black abyss; formless and without any light.

'Is this…my heart?'

His thoughts were so…blurry. Or was it murky?

'Who am I…?'

He landed on a glass floor; although with no light he couldn't be sure. Suddenly with that thought the floor lit up as if curtains were burned away with black light.

It revealed a stain glass floor shaped in a perfect circle. In the circle there was a large picture of a drawn heart; pink and perfectly symmetrical. Yet what rested inside the heart was far more interesting.

It was a drawn picture of a resting Sakura; hands crossed over her breasts and eyes closed. Yet she was split in half; the right half showing the old Sakura in her school uniform. The left half showed the new Sakura; white hair and dressed in black robes that flared out like ribbons at the end.

Both were in the same position, as if they were the same body; both resting. The platform shook and three small pillars emerged in triangle formation.

In a flash of light three floating items appeared: A sword, a shield and a staff.

Sakura had retreated back to Matou Mansion in order to complete her research on familiars. Although she never would never have the amount of insect familiars that her Grandfather had; due to not becoming one of them; she still produced enough to be her eyes and ears over the mansion. This combined with the Matou family Bounded Field that she had finally fixed granted her a relative feeling of safety.

The Heartless she birthed from eating the heart of a Magus was far more fascinating to her. Once it was born Shirou had absorbed it into his Reality Marble to protect it from the Will of Gaia. Once it had made its home in My Heart of Darkness; they had experimented. Sakura found that she could summon and bind it like a spirit using her Magic Crest.

As far as they knew this type of linked Magic Crest, to an active Reality Marble, had never happened before. The Emiya Family Crest did something similar; however the Reality Marble was stored inside the Crest; rather then been used by someone else.

The new Heartless species had been labelled a 'Possessor' due to its ability to add the 'Heartless' attribute to any inanimate object it possessed. An almost purely spiritual entity, the Possessor in its gaseous form was immune to even Mystic Codes; yet its weakness lay in the fact that whatever it possessed became its body; allowing it to be hurt when interacting with the Material World.

In theory this was the perfect Heartless for her; whose Mysteries lay around the binding of spiritual creatures. In practice its ability made it almost completely useless to her; yet Shirou seemed ecstatic with its ability.

He had talked her ear off about creating a Mystic Code that it could possess; some sort of computer or machine. She wished her boyfriend luck with his endeavour.

Suddenly she felt a missile entre her Bounded Field; heading straight for her.

'What –'

*Boom!*

One minute ago…

Archer, also known as Counter Guardian Emiya; sighed as he watched the Matou household. 'How did this all go so wrong?'

He had been summoned by Kotomine; not exactly the first time this had happened; after all the man had access to one of the two reagents that could summon him. But everything was backwards in this world. Sakura was the Master of Berserker? Assassin eliminated early? This was looking more and more like it wasn't his world or any world close.

'But the main question I would like to ask is: who is Shirou?' One of the advantages of having Kotomine as his Master was that the man summoned him properly; meaning that his memories weren't damaged.

He saw Sakura enter the Matou Mansion in a completely carefree manner; followed by a dematerialised Servant.

'Interesting; let's see if this Berserker is the same as my one. At the very least I could eliminate that leach of a grandfather.'

He Traced his black bow from his armoury. Loading a mental trigger, he brought the hammer down.

"Trace, On."

The blueprint was modified before the sword was materialised.

'Caladbolg II.' A sword that in legends drilled through three mountains, it was altered into a more aerodynamic form to be fired from a bow. Prana was run through the blade; making it Broken; a Broken Phantasm. Broken Phantasms got a rank up and exploded after one use; at a higher Prana cost.

'Fly!' He fired Caladbolg II; which travelled at Mach 12 and drilled straight through space and time at its tip. Only for a black thing to appear the moment it broke through the window of the Mansion.

It spun around and caught the arrow before it could impact the mansion proper. Spinning the remaining one hundred and eighty degrees; Caladbolg II turned black and smoky before it was flung straight back at him.

"Shit!" Archer made a running dash off the building he fired from; just before the 'Unknown Noble Phantasm' made contact. The top part of the skyscraper was vaporised and Archer had to Trace an incomplete Rho Aias with one petal to protect him from the explosion.

'Why don't I remember the name of my own Noble Phantasm? I know I shot Caladbolg II at the black thing; that Berserker; and he threw something back at me. But what did he throw? Why can't I think about it?'

He saw it; for a split second before the Noble Phantasm faded away: Caladbolg II. 'Shit! That Servant is cursed! I can't remember what he was wielding until that black aura faded away. And he just caught something traveling at Mach 12? Well, whatever that thing is it sure as hell isn't Herakles.'

Archer dematerialised before he hit the pavement; scouting done for the night.

Shirou had chosen the staff because he wished to seek out all the mysteries of Darkness and his own Heart. He had thrown away the shield; since his Origin was, in part, Blade and thus there was no way he was throwing away the sword. He had also trained in it for two months with Saber.

Frankly the only reason he hadn't primarily chosen the sword was the fact that he wasn't going to engage Servant's in melee combat. That and the fact that Dark Heal saved the love of his life kind of made him biased.

The tiny world around him was once again shaking; only this time it was much worse.

Shirou looked up as the once clear and infinite blackness turned smoky. Above him a massive heart appeared; looking fully organic rather than the cartoonish drawing below his feet.

'Where did that come from?'

The giant heart sucked in the smoky darkness around them, and transformed in a pulse of darkness. A Darkside was formed; a colossal Heartless created from the most powerful of hearts. Yet this one wore a white mask, the shape of a human skull.

'What an immensely powerful heart, to retain some of its characteristics even through the transformation.'

Light shone out from his hands as the staff Shirou wielded turned back into his Keyblade. Grabbing it with two hands; Shirou threw away his fear and pointed the blade at the Darkside.

"Sakura is counting on me to come back to her! Illya has just found her home! You won't stop me; get the fuck out of the way!"

Suddenly a golden light shone forth from Shirou's body; taking the form of a golden aura radiating out from his skin. He moved his left hand away from Shirou's Keyblade (Master Xehanort's Keyblade) almost unconsciously; before a new Keyblade was called to his left hand.

'Oathkeeper…'

The next day all four members of the alliance met on the roof of the school building; to discuss strategy and share information.

"So the Archer of this war is a sniper without honour; or at the very least uncaring for it." Saber was still dressed in her Goth Lolita outfit supplied by Illya, who snuck her in by using her daily command seal; saying "Come, Saber!" to summon her. In Shirou's opinion daily command seals were hax.

"Don't sound so critical Saber; you would do the same thing." Shirou couldn't help teasing her. Turning to look at Rin he simply asked her, "Was it worth it?"

Rin got the silent message and nodded; smirking all the while.

Shirou smiled before dropping the bombshell; "I killed Assassin last night."

Everyone had different reaction. "Shirou!" "Senpai!" "Emiya-kun!" "Damn it Emiya you got the first kill!"

The last one was Saber; who blushed when everyone turned to look at her. "What; Shirou always looked competent to me!" Saber blushed and got a deadly aura around her; signifying the tsundere mode activating.

Illya giggled at her Servant's reaction whilst Rin once again looked wary at the seemingly ordinary Shirou. 'A human killing a Servant? Impossible…'

"Master, that man isn't human. At least; not completely. I have never encountered his species before." Rin's eyes widened at the news Caster told her. 'Could he be a Homunculus like Illya?'

"I have fought and defeated the Knight of the Lance; although his identity eludes me. You were right Shirou; the pair is by far the most competent we have seen." Saber reported on the battle in military fashion.

Shirou smiled warmly at the news. "That's fine guys; two dead Servants in one night is a wonderful dream; yet was probably too much to hope for. Sakura; do you and Berserker want to pair off against the Archer? If this was a proper assassination attempt then he will try again. If he was just scouting however; then we are in a bit more trouble."

Rin watched the entire group dynamics with a growing feeling of awe and dread. 'These are heroes from the Age of Gods; why are they all listening to Shirou?! Who are you, Emiya Shirou? I guess it's time to pull my weight in this alliance.'

"Emiya-kun, I summoned a powerful Caster thanks to you. Although we spent last night repairing and reinforcing my Bounded Fields; I could have Caster scout for Archer and his or her Master with a Remote Viewing Sphere tonight."

"Master; you never told me he was the one who gave you my reagent. What a nice, handsome man to know my perfection!"

Rin shivered. 'Oh god, I forgot that this Medea hasn't been betrayed by men yet. My own Servant betrays me!' Rin took a shot through the heart; anime style.

Shirou smiled warmly at Rin. "Great thinking Rin! I knew I could count on you!"

She felt an aura of dread behind her; and saw Caster seething with jealousy.

'Oh crap! I pissed of the world's first yandere; who cut her brother to pieces to be with the man she loved! Ahhhhhh!' None of these thoughts broke through Rin's mask however, sans the bit of sweat travelling down her neck.

"Don't worry Senpai. Berserker will slaughter them all." Sakura had a blood red aura around her; freaking out Rin even more. 'Oh crap there's two of them!'

Far away; this little meeting was been spied upon by two Archers: one red, the other; gold.

"So these Mongrels are teaming up against you, Faker. Whatever will you do?" Gilgamesh asked in his arrogant tone; verbally attacking the 'lesser' Archer.

Archer chuckled in a self-deprecating manner. "Aren't you worried about yourself; King of Heroes? All of those Servants are full of Mana and all have superb Masters. You may even lose against them."

Gilgamesh glared at the Faker; for no one could doubt the King. To do so meant death.

"Such a thing will never happen. But I am disappointed in Saber; for she got corrupted whilst I stayed pure. Her holy virgin light is no more." Gilgamesh walked off the building and dematerialised.

Archer sighed and shook his head at his old foe's arrogance.

In direct battle Gilgamesh could be beaten by him so long as Ea wasn't drawn. And it was almost guaranteed that Gilgamesh wouldn't draw it; since he would never acknowledge a Faker as a legitimate threat until far too late.

'But this current alliance is strange. I've heard of two Masters teaming up but not four. On the other hand each of these three girls has relationships with me in the past. Maybe this version of Shirou just befriended them before the War.' Archer dematerialised after adding and discarding his plots and plans.

In the church, Kotomine Kirei watched it all through his Servant's eyes; intrigued despite the bad feeling in his gut. It wasn't as if a bad feeling ever stopped him from exploring and seeing things through to the end. Rather it encouraged him; because he was feeling something.

That night was the first night Rin and Caster truly went active. Rin had given Caster ten of her twenty filled jewels along with her Azoth Dagger; for Caster to utilize with her A-rank Item Creation.

"Caster, can I use up a Command Seal in order for you to craft items above your normal abilities?" Rin, ever the evil genius; was aiming high.

Caster frowned. "Not necessarily Master, although exceptions could be made if I had the right resources. If they were available and I had a blueprint or a set of instructions; I could theoretically create something above my skill level by allowing my body to move like a puppet and me not remembering the process. Master?"

Rin had started chuckling like a cartoon witch and brought Caster along with her; as they moved into a secret area of the mansion. In it there was a magically reinforced chest; locked obviously.

"Caster, please lift the protections." Rin moved over to the chest and waited for Caster to unlock the chest.

Medea frowned minutely before muttering words in the language of the Gods and waving her arm over the chest. The magical protections shuddered before falling away. Rin opened the chest and retrieved a scroll; before walking back up to her workshop. Caster now had a sweat drop at the sound of evil laughter bubbling out of Rin's throat.

Carrying the scroll back to the workshop; Rin placed it reverently down onto the table, along with the jewels and the Azoth Dagger. She turned to Caster and asked her some very specific questions as well as giving her specific information.

"Caster; can you access the Lay Lines from this location?"

"Yes Master."

"Caster, my blood samples are in the icebox over there."

"Ok…?"

"Caster, by the grace of my Command Seal; I order you to make use of every available resource in this workshop to create a Second Magic Jewel Sword for me alone." Rin fed Caster every scrap of her not inconsiderable Prana before closing the door. A second later Caster exploded into action.

Rin panted in the hallway; exhausted but mentally exhilarated. Why did none of her ancestors try this in the first place?

'I mean; we spend our lives trying to recreate a Mystic Code on the level of the strongest Noble Phantasms yet no one considered using a Caster for help?'

Well now she had a night to look forward to. 'If this works I'm going to kiss you Shirou!'

Said man was finally moving out; accompanied by Rider; and heading towards the Church to register and patrol. He was accompanied by a manifested Rider; who was curious about her Masters new aura of power. Her monster senses told her that he had taken another step away from humanity whilst she was gone.

Speaking of which; she was mad at Shirou for doing battle with Assassin of all people whilst she was gone. More than that; he failed to use a Command Seal whilst in a situation that it was pretty much designed for.

Shirou couldn't tell her how he killed Assassin as he himself didn't know. Once he had killed that massive Heartless inside himself he only received flashes.

He knew that it was Assassin's Heartless that he had defeated; and that it had now integrated with and upgraded his body. However normal Heartless were almost the definition of mindless; thus he didn't exactly absorb the guy's life story.

Anyway; all he really wanted to do was finish this patrol and go to sleep. Tomorrow he was off patrol duty and he was looking forward to sparing with Rider; both of them duel wielding. It was going to be messy and dirty fighting; add to it the fact that the Keyblade could be thrown and would instantly return to his hand when he wished it.

Shirou knew that he would never learn or master duel wielding in one night; or learn to do some from Rider. What he was looking for was how to move with two weapons in hand. It also seemed that the Keyblade downloaded knowledge on how to wield it over time into the wielder's brain.

As he got better at wielding them; Shirou wanted to master Alteration; to alter their shape mid fight in order to gain an advantage against opponents.

'Whoops; I guess I should have been paying attention to the priest talking my ear off. Oh well, it's not like this will ever come back to bite me in the ass… Better not tempt fate.'

Shirou spun around and walked off; mid speech from Kotomine. Rider was silent as usual and followed from behind.

Kotomine frowned at the young man; who if he didn't know better had completely ignored him.

"Archer, kill them."
