Hey guys. So I know that Into Kingdom Hearts was supposed to be updated next, but just like this story I was having a hard time putting it together. But I have finalized the poll for that story, and I will announce the three new worlds.
Anyways, back to this story, we have the battle between the Shadow Creatures (for a new basic description, just imagine a giant raven with long, sharp feathers, a beak that bends at a ninety degree angle downward at the end, and a long tail with feathers like polished stone) and David. R&R, PM, and Enjoy!
Chapter 7
"Alright, let's go!" David shouted as he flew into the air. The bird like creatures screeched as they flapped their wings to become airborne again. David stopped mid-air and looked around. These things were a lot bigger than he had thought, and the amount of dark energy they were putting out was almost overwhelming.
"David", a feminine voice said. David was a little surprised because the voice sounded a lot like Solaria's.
"Solaria, is that you? Where are you?"
"Yes, it's me," she replied, "and, to answer your second question, I'm now a part of you." David looked to his left and saw a ghostly image of Solaria next to him. "These beasts are particularly sensitive to sunlight. So all we need to do is expose them to the light."
"Okay, but slight problem," David said, looking around at the now airborne birds, "there's a giant thundercloud overhead that's blocking the sunlight."
"Yes, which means there is only one solution." The creatures screeched again, and David looked up at the thundercloud.
"Up?"
"Up."
David flew straight up and, just as he thought, the creatures followed. They were fast, getting closer and closer as they ascended further and further into the clouds. David looked down, and saw he was staring down the throat of one of the creatures. He pointed two fingers at the creature and shouted, "Stormaka boltar!"
A bolt of lightning arced from one of the clouds, to his fingertips, and down the mouth of the creature. It screeched in pain and faltered back down.
Another creature appeared to David's right, and he shot another bolt at the creature. It didn't falter as much as the first creature, but it seemed to be stunned and disoriented a little.
Another screech from above and David turned to his right to see another creature heading straight for him. He swerved to the right and the creature flew by, almost taking his arm with it. David kept going, and eventually found himself inside an air pocket in the clouds. He stopped halfway up as a searing pain entered his head.
"Well, well, well," a dark, menacing voice said. To David, it sounded like it the voice was coming from all around him. "Little David has finally found one of the three sisters." David opened his eyes and saw all of the creatures hovering around him. The creature in front of him had eyes that glowed red like rubies, "You might have found one, young Astral-talent, but darkness will eventually consume your light." David saw the creature move its beak as the voice spoke, like the voice was speaking through it.
"I'm wondering something," it said, "how many friends will you sacrifice, before you succumb to the darkness?"
"David, don't listen to him," Solaria said. He couldn't see her this time, but he knew she was there. "The clouds end right above us, all you have to do is make a break in the clouds and I can tell you how to defeat them." David looked straight up and saw the clouds were lighter than the surrounding ones. "David! Now!" Solaria shouted.
Without hesitation, he quickly raised his arm and snapped his fingers. The clouds quickly began to part and sunlight streamed into the empty space. The creatures, as well as the voice, cried out in pain as the sun hit them and they retreated into the side areas where the sun couldn't reach them. "Okay, here's what you need to do," Solaria said, appearing next to him. "Just do what I do."
She put her hands together in front of her chest, palms opened, as if she were praying. Then, she raised her arms up, and pulled her hand apart, spreading her arms outward so she looked like a tree. David copied her movements, and Solaria said, "Good, now feel the sun's light against your skin and direct that warmth to your heart." She lowered her arms back to their original position with her hands spread apart, and David copied her once again. As he did, he could really feel the heat coming from the sun move across his skin and towards his chest.
"Now, gather that heat between your palms. The rest should come to you naturally." David concentrated on the heat, and felt it leave his chest. As it did, the heat began to return, this time in his hands. He saw a faint glow form between his hands, but also noticed it was starting to get slightly darker. He looked up, and saw the hole in the clouds was beginning to close.
"Yes, David," the voice said, "you doubt yourself. You feel unable to do anything. You feel afraid that you'll fail everyone, and that you won't be strong enough." The words stung David like needles, and he felt some of the heat turn cold. "I feel your pain, David, I really do. As an Astral-talent, I was expected to do so much. The pressure got to me, and I finally cracked under the weight. If you give in now, give in to the pressure, I will spare your firends and those you care about. But refuse, and I will make every one of them suffer."
At that last word, David shouted in anger, and threw his hands outward towards the voice. A brilliant light shone from his hand, bright as the sun, and the creature and voice cried out in agony. Where the light touched, the creature's feathers and skin began to burn. David looked at the light in his hand, and concentrated it into his palm. In no time, a miniature ball of light had formed in his hands. He dulled the light down a little and saw what it really was. It was an orb of fire, red, orange, and black, with flares coming up from its surface and going back down.
It was a miniature sun in the palm of his hand.
The gap in the clouds closed completely and the creatures screeched as they rushed forward. David snapped back into reality, and threw the miniature sun at the same creature. As soon as it made contact, the creature cried out and turned into black dust. The miniature sun was still floating in the air, and David moved his hand over to the next creature. The sun followed his hand and slammed into the second creature, turning it into dust as well. David dropped down a few feet as the third creature attempted to ram him in the back, then flew to his right to avoid the fourth and fifth.
David moved his hand around, as if he were tying a knot, and the mini sun followed, smashing into the third, fourth, and final creature creature. David looked around, in case another surprise creature showed up. He heard something behind him, and whirled around to see some of the black dust swirling in a vortex. He brought the mini sun over to him and aimed it at the swirl, watching as it clumped together into the shape of a sparrow man.
"You," David said, now face-to-face with the Outcast.
"Yes, it seems I underestimated your abilities. Just letting you know that, since you refused my offer," his face twisted in rage, "I will take great pride in taking all that you love away from you. Starting, with that young fairy. Tinker Bell, was it?" David shouted and shot the miniature sun at the Outcast, causing him to shatter into black dust.
"Oh, sorry," he heard him say, turning around to see him reform from the black dust. "I'm not really here." He chuckled, turning his back to him, "Sorry to disappoint. I'll be seeing you again."
The Outcast began laughing as he dissolved into black dust once again, and the cloud began to disperse. David felt the heat leave his body, and he quickly began his descent back down to where Tinker Bell was. As he neared her, he saw that she was beginning to wake up. David landed next to her, and placed a hand on her back.
"Tinker Bell, you feeling alright?" She coughed a bit, and tried standing up, only to fall back down into David's arms.
"David?" She asked, her eyes fluttering open. "The last thing I remember was a painful screech, and then it all went black."
"It's okay, Tink, everything's fine now."
Tinker Bell's eyes opened completely, and she looked around, "Where's Sunbeam? She was here too."
"She's alright, too. She's safe." Tinker Bell nodded, and David helped her stand up.
"Alright, let's get going." Tinker Bell barely had any pixie dust left, so she agreed to let David carry her. He picked her up and flew out of the basin. The moment he passed the rim, he heard a loud rumbling sound from behind, and turned to see the obelisk crumble and fall. David readjusted his hold on Tinkerbell and began to make his way back to Pixie Hollow.
Alright, that was chapter 7 of Astral. Don't worry, the excitement doesn't stop there. He still has to find the Moon and Celestial talents. R&R, PM, and Good night.
