The following morning, Tiana sat on her computer replying to countless Facebook messages about Sofia's arrest the night before. Most of the questions were coming from people she hardly spoke to or people she didn't know at all. Laura and Heidi sat watching Jersey Shore reruns with idle looks on their faces.
Heidi broke the silence. "I bet the second I get onto that toilet, Sofia's gonna show up!"
"So what are you gonna do?" Tiana turned towards her. "Wet yourself?"
Heidi rolled her eyes and walked out of Tiana's living room towards the toilet. "Whatever!"
"Sofia's so lucky. Roseford is like the only place in the world where your dad can buy you outta jail." Laura picked up a nail file and started working on her hands. Just then, the loud chime of the doorbell prompted Tiana to run towards the front door. A dishevelled Sofia stood before her when she opened it.
Sofia pushed past her into the Winters' hallway. "Thank God for my dad because my mom and Paul would've left me in there to rot." Paul was Sofia's new stepfather. Sofia's dad had left Roseford when she was very young and Tiana and the others never knew him. Sofia did visit him in New York regularly and they seemed to have a good father-daughter relationship.
"Did they ask you anything about where your car was?" Tiana followed Sofia into the living room and Heidi was on her way down the stairs at the same time.
"No they just asked me about the drugs. Where I got them, stuff like that." Sofia sat down. "I've already sorted things out though. A few allies of mine are spreading a little rumour for me."
"What kind of rumour?" Laura asked.
"I can't have people thinking I'm an addict so...I kinda told people that it was Danielle's drugs." Sofia brightened up. "But don't worry, she won't ever find out I started the rumour!"
"That's crazy she's your friend!" Heidi yelled. "I'm guessing it is true then."
"Guys!" Spencer stood in the doorway of the living room with her arms crossed. "Chill out. You're all coming for a drive with me. No arguments. It'll do you good to get out of town for a while. Sofia, you especially."
Tiana spent most of the journey to Rosewood playing Candy Crush on her phone and wondering if Sofia really was a druggie. Rosewood was extremely similar to Roseford-it just had different people.
"Guys I just need to stop by the car garage." Spencer said. "Toby said he helps out there whenever he's in Rosewood and he wanted some information on applying to college."
"And he couldn't do his own research?" Laura raised an eyebrow. "Clearly he just wants to see you!"
"It's not like that at all." Spencer shrugged. "Besides, I have Wren."
"But you like Toby...just a little bit." Tiana teased.
When they arrived at the garage, they all immediately saw Toby and Tiana could've sworn she saw Spencer's face light up. "Wanna come?" Spencer asked. When they all shook their heads, she closed her door and went over to Toby.
Sofia gasped. "Wait, that's the guy who works at Starbucks. The one Clarissa's been crushing on!"
Tiana froze. "Sofia?"
"Yeah?" Sofia replied.
"You took a picture of the van that hit Anna right?" Tiana turned towards her slowly.
"Uh...yeah." Sofia flicked through the pictures on her phone until she found the one she was looking for. She showed Tiana the picture of the van again.
Tiana swallowed hard. "Look over there in the corner of the garage. It's the same van that hit Anna! Look at the plate!"
Heidi squinted. "Yeah...I think you're right."
"We need Spencer to ask Toby if she can find out who brought that van in. Then we'll know who hit Anna and we might find out who A is!" Laura exclaimed.
"But we don't need Spencer's help." Tiana thought for a second. "They just went into the office. If I go in there and tell Toby one of you needs him I can check their records. It shouldn't be too hard seeing as the van was either brought in yesterday or this morning."
"I could tell Toby about how much Clarissa adores him." Sofia suggested.
"Perfect." Tiana stepped out of the car walked towards the office. She shivered as she walked past the van.
Spencer smiled as she opened the door. "What's up?"
"Sofia wanted to ask Toby about something." Tiana shrugged.
"Okay." He frowned. "I'll be back Spence."
When he left Tiana shut the blinds. "I need to find something." She walked over to a filing cabinet next to the desk and opened the top draw.
"What are you looking for? You can't just do that without permission." Spencer whispered.
September 2013 was right at the front of the draw and Tiana looked through the files for cars that were brought in within the last 24 hours. "It's important." Bingo. She picked up the file that had the same number plate as the van written on it and placed it into her bag.
Just then Tiana's phone bleeped. She took it out and read the new text straight away.
I see you're already causing trouble in Rosewood. Good thing I'm here to make sure you don't do anything you'll regret! Oh, and there's one huge surprise on it's way. -A
