It was midnight when Dean sat himself up at the edge of Cas's bed. He honestly didn't plan to sleep or at least if he did not so late. He wished that he could stay but he couldn't. That right was for Cas's real Alpha which Dean wasn't. Sometimes he wished that he could be but he wasn't right for Cas. Cas deserved someone better than him. Arms wrapped around the middle of his body attempting to pull him back in. He wanted to let those arms drag him back to the warm and comfy bed. For a second he didn't resist and just let the arms drag him down. It would be so easy to let them.

No he couldn't. It would mess things up Dean thought. It was one thing to give orders to Cas to replace the hole that Balthazar left. It was one thing to have sex with him because that way it would show Cas that he is loved. Somebody loves him enough to be that intimate and vulnerable with him. He could spend all day in bed with Cas because they were friends and he was just trying to get Cas to realize how awesome he really is. Plus sometimes it's nice to just fall asleep with a warm body next to yours. It was a quite different thing to kiss him on the lips and snuggle with him all night because that implies that he cares about in a romantical way. Which he doesn't so with a struggle he got of Cas's embrace. . Even though he looked so cute all curled up like a little cat. He wanted to pat Cas on the head so badly to see if he would purr. That would probably wake him up though and that was the last thing he wanted. Cas started to whine and his arms started to move frantically looking for Dean's body.

"I have to go now, Cas." Dean whispered into his ear.

Cas started shaking his head and tried again to capture Dean into a warm embrace.

"No, Cas. I seriously have to go."

"No, you can't." Cas said his eyes still closed.

"Oh yeah and why can't I?"

"Because I need you."

"No, you don't Cas. You just think that you do."

"I need you." Cas said again.

Dean ignored him as he kissed him on the forehead. "I have to go."

"No." Cas said angrily "I need you."

"Cas, I really have to go."

"No please don't go." Cas begged.

You clever little bastard Dean thought you saw that telling me that I couldn't leave wasn't working. So now you think you can get me to stay by begging me. At least he was still somewhat asleep because Dean know if Cas pulled the puppy-dog eyes out on him. Then he would stay. He couldn't resist those.

"I'm sorry Cas but I really have to. I promise I'll be back tomorrow."

"No don't leave me."

"I'm not going to leave you."

"No don't go. Don't leave me."

"Cas, I just told you that I'm not going to leave you."

"Please Balthazar don't leave me."

Crap, Cas didn't want him to stay. He wanted Balthazar to stay. He was having a nightmare about that day that Balthazar left him. He tried to shake him, trying to get him to get wake up. He knows that Cas needs his sleep but he couldn't stand him to have him cry and beg for a man that he probably still loved that treated him like dirt.

"I'll let you do anything you want to me. You can ever whip me if that's want to do."

"Cas you need to wake up to now."

"Don't leave me Balthazar. I promise that I'll be good."

"CAS! WAKE UP!" Dean shouted

"Balthazar please." Cas said starting to sob.

Dean didn't bother to wake him up when he started to cry. He just held him hoping that would comfort him. Cas just cried and cried. When he stopped crying he didn't wake up. As much as Dean wanted to leave. He didn't dare because he was scared that if he left Cas would start crying again. Thankfully he didn't and they peacefully slept through the night.
