Mitchum sat in the chair next to Logan after he finished his phone calls. "There will be three bodyguards here within an hour, son. How are you holding up?"
Logan ran a hand through his hair as he sighed. "I would be a hell of a lot better if I could see Rory with my own two eyes, dad. I hate that she has been hurt and that I can't take that hurt away from her. I really do wish that I had done more than punch Bowman once because he deserves a beat down for what he did to my sister and that is what Rory is to me. I never thought I would or could love someone as much as I love Rory but damn if I don't. Don't get me wrong I do love Paris but even with loving her it doesn't compare to how much I love Rory if that makes sense."
Mitchum squeezed Logan's shoulder. "I know what you mean, Logan. I wasn't prepared for meeting Rory and she stole my heart at first glance. She doesn't ask for anything except for us to love her and even then, she doesn't push for it or expect it. I don't understand how Richard can let Emily do the things that she has been doing to that girl but regardless of that fact it ends now. I won't have Emily, Richard, Hayden, or anyone else hurting her just because they think that they have a right to. I won't stand back and let their actions and/or inactions tear apart a girl that doesn't deserve it just because she isn't what they want or expect her to be."
Logan closed his eyes. "I knew the second I laid my eyes on Rory that she was going to become most of my world for one reason or another. It won't matter if Paris and I break up for some reason because even then I know that Rory would still be in my life, not that I think Paris and I will break up or anything. I hate seeing Rory feel like she has to be someone and/or something that she isn't just to make the people in her life love and/or care for her. I just don't get why they can't be happy for the person that she is. You know I do hope that Rory and Tristan get together because at least then I know that he will treat her like the Princess that she is. Today was the first time I have ever seen Tristan get that angry over something that has happened to someone he didn't know. If he hadn't had to drive us to the hospital I honestly believe that he would have walked into Chilton and killed Bowman or at least beat the boy until he was black and blue."
Mitchum chuckled lightly. "It's the Rory effect, Logan. It doesn't matter if you know Rory or not because as soon as you lay eyes on her you want to protect her from the world and if you can't then you will burn the world to the ground in avenging her. I think that you should know so that it doesn't blindside you I sent an email to Lorelai telling her that I want to change Rory's last name to our last name and that I want to adopt her as my daughter. I think that it is about time that Rory finds out what it is like to have the love of a father who wants her to have their last name."
Logan looked at his dad and smiled. "I think that Rory would enjoy being a Huntzberger, dad, but you should know that if things go the way that I think they will that eventually she will also be a DuGrey."
Mitchum smirked. "I don't see a problem with that at all, son. I do think that Tristan is just what Rory needs and I know that she is just what he needs. Rory will make sure that Tristan doesn't get caught up in work and he will make sure that she doesn't get caught up in all her studying. I think that if they ended up together that it would set Hartford Society on fire because nobody would know what hit them."
Logan laughed as he shook his head. "Hartford Society isn't going to know what hit them if we change Rory's last name to ours. In all honesty, I think the damn Hartford Society could use a fucking shake-up because maybe then people would learn to start thinking for their fucking selves instead of listening to everyone else. I think that if Rory were to become a Huntzberger that she would show the socialites just what they have been missing and besides it would piss Emily off that we got Rory to do something that she never could no matter how hard she tried or how much she forced Rory into situations."
Mitchum scowled. "Emily Gilmore is going to get what she has coming to her and then some because I am going to make sure of it and I know that Janlan, Annette, and Robert will help. If Tristan and Rory end up together that will eat away at Emily because she had no say in the match. Rory needs somebody who is strong and that has no problem putting her first when it is called for. She needs somebody who isn't afraid to show her that she is loveable and that will give her the world if she were to ask for it. If I didn't think of Rory as a daughter I would say that you two would be perfect for one another but I do think of her as a daughter and I know how much you love Paris."
Logan smiled sheepishly. "I never thought about Rory that way because in my mind I always knew that she was made for Tristan even if they hadn't met yet. When I first got to know her I realized that she would be perfect for him and him for her. Now if only they would both realize that once they actually meet one another because if they don't I will have to play matchmaker and I'm not so sure I'm up to doing that."
Mitchum laughed. "I don't think that will be a problem at least on Tristan's side, Logan. I don't think I have ever seen that boy as tightly wound as he is currently and he hasn't even officially met her yet."
Logan looked at Tristan and then back at his dad. "I know what you mean. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him what had happened before he drove us here to the hospital. He was ready to murder Bowman and there is no doubt in my mind that he would have done just that had we not had to get Rory to the hospital quickly. Don't get me wrong I have seen Tristan mad before but nowhere near as mad as he was when I told him what happened. I have a feeling he'll be staying at our house with us once Rory is released."
Mitchum shrugged his shoulders as he stood up. "If he stays in the bedroom he has at our house I don't care, son. Now the Nurse should be getting to us so that we can see Rory here soon."
Logan nodded as he stood up. He gave his dad a nod before he walked over to where Tristan was sitting in a chair on his own. He had some things he wanted to talk to Tristan about and figured that he wouldn't get the chance to do it anytime soon if he didn't do it right then and there.
A/N 2: *grins* And there is this chapter finished! I know that I could have made it longer, but I didn't want to detract from the father/son moment and conversation that Logan and Mitchum were having... Next up is Logan's talk with Tristan and both Logan and Tristan getting to see Rory... Hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Click the button and let me know what you think!
