I do not own Star Wars Rebels! That is owned by Disney XD! I only own my OC character, Kairi Hando! Please review and favorite for more chapters! -Thanks! :)

Ezra and Kairi sat in the bridge, Kairi was showing Ezra how to levitate items. She was doing some easy things like an apple or even her saber, Ezra was so impressed he wanted to do it but had no luck what so ever. This made him feel discourage.

"I will never do it." Ezra said.

Kairi smiles and placed a hand on his shoulder, "It takes time. You think I woke up one morning and levitated my glass of water from the kitchen to me? No it took a lot of training." Kairi said.

Ezra glanced at her, "You make it look so easy."

Kairi lets out a soft laugh, "Because its so natural for me."

Ezra nods, "Was training hard- to be a jedi I mean?"

Kairi shrugs, "I guess- it was a challenge. There were times at the beginning I wondered if I could even do it, but I kept it together and somehow even survived this far in this dark galaxy." Kairi said.

Ezra looks at her, "How do you do it? Manage to live and be out even though the Empire could find you and kill you?"

Kairi pondered over it, "Its kinda like you guys. You want to make a difference right?"

Ezra nods, "We want to stop the Empire."

Kairi nods, "Okay well that's kinda like what I'm doing. I am that person who hates to hide away, I hate to run away so instead of pretending I'm no jedi- I kinda paint a giant target sign on me by going out in the open. Why else explain why I still use my original name, I want them to know I'm a threat." Kairi said.

"You're taunting them?" Ezra asked.

Kairi nods, "I have a bone to pick with them. It's kinda personal."

Ezra nods, "Oh okay."

-Flashback thirteen years ago-

Sixteen year old Kairi stood in front of an enemy, an old friend, a forgotten face. She sees this dark figure come toward her, his presence so dark and so cold it was almost of ice. Kairi kept her expression calm and remained unaffected by any of this, even while being cuffed.

"Kairi, we meet again." The dark voice said.

The dark lord motioned for the officers to leave them alone, which they did. Kairi watched them do so and then looked at him with a slight glare. She had been captured because of her crimes against the empire they'd likely be set to death.

"It's nice to see you're still alive." The voice said again.

"Cut the act Anakin, you don't care about my well-being." Kairi replied with violently.

This made the dark lord tense up, "That name- is not my name anymore."

Kairi made a face, "Of course it isn't. But hey, Ani sounds a lot better than Vader."

Darth Vader turns to face her completely, "Are you testing my powers?"

Kairi rolled her eyes, "I'm not afraid of you."

Darth Vader moved forward toward her, "You should be."

Kairi stared into his helmet with a grin, "No. I don't have to fear you, because I do not see you as something scary."

"Why is that?" Vader spoke.

"You're scared and don't want anyone to know. You gave it all up, Anakin. Your love, your friends, your way of life for what- this Empire? This false enjoyment, do you really enjoy tearing apart families and murdering others who appose you?" Kairi asked.

Vader did not reply.

"If you feel that way, then you'll have to kill me." Kairi said.

Vader touched her shoulders, "Or you could join me Kai."

Kairi snickered, "Didn't I tell you back at the temple never to call me 'Kai' again."

Vader nods, "Very well. A death sentence you will have. This time no escapes will be made."

Kairi raised her eyebrow, "Where would the fun in that be?"

-REBELS-

Kairi wondered through the halls of the Ghost when she stopped to hear voices coming from the common room, it was the others. They were talking about something that seemed to be secretive because Kairi had to get closer in order to listen in, it wasn't about a mission no it was about her.

"She knows more than she's tell us, Kanan." Zeb said.

Sabine nods, "I'd hate to admit it and I really like her but she is holding something from us."

Kanan groans, "It's not in our place to force her to tell us everything."

Zeb groans, "Come on Kanan. How much do you really know about her?"

Ezra slammed his hands on a table, "She saved Kanan's life."

Hera nods, "That's true. She wouldn't have if there wasn't something charming and selfless about her."

Ezra nods, "And that space pirate- um Han. He said she was always putting them before her."

Kanan nods, "I know Ezra."

Zeb growls, "I am getting tired of being in the dark of things. The Empire is getting powerful and they aren't waiting on no one to stop them, they are getting down to business and what are we doing?"

"The same thing," Kanan said.

Kairi stood by the door and huffed in a deep breathe and then was about to say something but stopped for a second, 'Is it- really in my place to say it?'

Kairi shakes her head and begins to leave the hallway, she walks down until she made it to her quarters. She throws herself onto her bed and then groans a semi-loud groan. She heard a faint beep coming from her communicator that was in her pocket, she pulled it out to see a message from someone who made her smile. It was a hologram, from Han.

"Hey there, its me. Well of course you'd know its me, I just thought I- or so Chewie and I thought to send you a message to tell you we're alright. I miss you- but so does the big furr loaf, he won't stop talking about you. Heh heh, I know you're busy with stuff and said you'd come back soon but- I feel like it was what I said that pushed you away."

There was some static in the message, which made Kairi sit up right to listen onward.

"But maybe its because you found someone much cooler than Chewie or I. Heh, could be. I mean those two "bounty hunters" looking for you were actually jedi, and I understand if you want to stay close to what's left of the jedi. I'm down with that- I just want to hear back from you. Yeah, I know I'm not the worry type and I am not worried- its Chewie. He just wanted to know you were still alive and I knew you were fine, you're always fine."

Kairi couldn't help but laugh at that comment.

"Anyways, don't feel like a stranger. If you ever want to find us, you know where we'll be. I lo- later jedi." Han's message ended.

Kairi went from some light from the hologram to no light, she laid with her back against the wall and her letting out a deep breathe. She looked up at the ceiling and curled her legs up into a ball.

"Han," Kairi said to herself.

-Flashback thirteen years ago-

Kairi sat in her cell block, awaiting an officer to come in to take her to her death. When the doors opened for her to see a familiar face, she stands up with disbelief.

"Hey sweetie, I'm here to save your ass." Said a charming voice.

Kairi hugged him tightly, "Han."

Han struggled to get her to release him, "Hey we need to go now."

Kairi let go of him, "Got my sabers?"

Han nods, "Do I ever mess up?"

Kairi smiles, "You have your highlights."

The two exit the cell to see troopers coming over, they were firing at them. Kairi blocked them with her saber and Han fired back with his blaster. Kairi noticed a vent on the wall, she cut a hole in it and motioned him to it.

"Here's our exit." Kairi said.

Han nods, "Ladies first."

Kairi rolls her eyes, "Fine."

Kairi jumped in and then he did too. The vent exit outside of the Imperial base on Coruscant, Han and Kairi were running through the base and Han was shouting something into his comm. Kairi blocked the blasts from the Strom Troopers, Han turned and nudged her to
follow him.

"This way," Han said and ran.

Kairi followed, "Where?"

Han blasted at a trooper who fell to the ground, "This way! Chewie has our escape in the docking bay."

Kairi smiles, "I love you two."

Han grins and fires again, "Save the sappy love stuff after our butts are saved."

Kairi rolls her eyes, "Yeah yeah."

"Hurry!" Han shouted.

Kairi ran up the ramp and watched Han fire a few more shots before following right behind her, Chewie pulled up the ramp and began to take off. Han ran to the cockpit with Kairi right behind him, Han took his seat and began piloting their spaceship away from that planet. Kairi hugged the Wookie, who growled a joyful growl.

"Oh I love you both!" Kairi said and grabbed Han now.

"Yeah thanks, diva." Han said.

Kairi made a face, "And to think I was going to kiss you."

Han turns, "Oh well maybe you still can."

Kairi snickers, "Nope."

-REBELS-

Ezra found Kairi sitting outside on the ramp, he sits next to her and that gained her attention. He formed a small smile at her and she did the same as she turned her head back to the beautiful sky before them.

"I bet you heard everyone shouting earlier?" Ezra asked.

"You assumed right." Kairi said.

Ezra frowned, "Oh."

Kairi nods, "I don't know if this is going to work out."

"What?" Ezra asked.

"This, I don't a team anymore." Kairi says.

"How come?" Ezra asked.

Kairi glanced at him, "Kid when you've been through the things I've been through you'd understand why."

Ezra looks at her, "But I've been on my own since my parents were taken from me by the Empire. I use to think I needed to be alone and I was dead wrong, I was afraid of being close to people because I thought they'd be taken away from me." Ezra said.

Kairi remained silent.

"Is that why you're unable to stay with the ones you care the most?" Ezra asked.

Kairi made a grin, "What could you possibly understand kid?"

"I know enough," Ezra said.

Kairi sighs, "Yeah I guess that's it. Maybe."

Ezra glanced at her waiting for her to say something.

Kairi let out a deep breathe, "After my last time seeing my master fourteen years ago I went out into hiding alone. Though I really wasn't very good at it, only a few months being on the run I was almost caught but I was saved by Rex. He took me to his base, being led by Ahsoka. We were a team for a year and then I just left."

"Why?" Ezra asked.

Kairi formed a grin, "Because on a mission of mine I met a guy- he was involved in the Empire but left. He- was who I wanted to be with. So I spent a good while with him. He saved me from a death sentence by the Empire, I saved him from nearly getting his head shot off by a Storm Trooper. We had each others back, all three of us."

"Three?" Ezra asked.

"Yeah it was him, myself, and the Wookie." Kairi said.

"Oh," Ezra said.

"After a couple of good years traveling together, it was getting more dangerous for me to be with them so I had them leave me on the planet of Tattooine. I managed to stay on the down low, until I came across of Ahsoka again. I spent a few more years with her until I left yet again. I spent my time in between fighting off Imperial soldiers getting closer to me and protecting the ones I held close. That's about it until Kanan and you guys found me." Kairi said.

Ezra was a bit shocked, "Whoa."

Kairi grins, "My life now seems to be always running. It seems to be a pattern, get away before they get hurt."

Ezra touched her hand, "But we're all in this together. You can't keep running away when things get difficult."

Kairi nods, "Yeah."

Ezra stands up, "In the end the choice is yours to stay or not- but I'd really like it if you stayed around a little bit longer. I know Kanan would."

Ezra walked up the ramp and into the Ghost, Kairi watched him leave. Kairi pulled her legs up to her chest, curling herself in a ball. She exhaled deeply and stared at the sky.

"Master, what would you do?" Kairi mutters to herself.
