Happily Ever After

Chapter 7

Once Jeff had everyone organised, he made his way to the hanger with Robyn holding onto his hand. As Jeff was about to board the jet he heard TinTin calling him.

"Mr Tracy?"

"Yes TinTin?"

"Do you mind if I come along with you? You can't fly and keep an eye on Robyn at the same time. I will read her a story and hopefully she will sleep. From what Jo has been telling me Robyn doesn't like being on her own. She always likes to have someone there."

"I don't know TinTin I could really do with you here in case the boys get a call out and they need an extra set of hands." It was a risk really. Of course having her keep an eye of Robyn would be much better for both of them but what if she was needed here? What if something happened?

"Please Granddad let TinTin come with us." said Robyn, using her puppy dog eyes on her Grandfather.

"Ok Robyn she can come along with you." said Jeff as everyone boarded the jet, against those eyes there was never any chance.

"Tracy Two looking for clearance for take-off."

"Loud and clear Dad, you are all set for take-off. Tell Virgil and Jo that we are asking for them and missing them." Scott's voice came through loud and clear.

"I will Tracy Two out." As he took off the familiar pang of worry settled in his stomach. Every time he left the Island, every time he left his sons alone he worried about it.

As Jeff was flying, TinTin was busy getting Robyn settled and reading her a story. Having her come along really was a good idea. Jeff called Virgil to tell him that he is on his way over with Robyn.

"Jeff Tracy calling Virgil, come in."

"Hey Dad."

"I am just on my way over to you now with Robyn. TinTin is with me keeping her company. We should be with you around early morning, how is Jo doing now?" Virgil sounded exhausted, he probably hadn't slept in a while.

"Jo is doing fine now, it looks like she will be out in the morning. I am going to make sure that she gets some rest." A sigh of relief escaped his lips. Thank the lord.

"I am sure you will Virgil, Robyn is very excited to see you both. She may only be a child but she knows that something is wrong."

"So Robyn has been ok then, no more nightmares?" Virgil couldn't help but worry about his daughter. She'd never liked being on her own.

"She had one a couple of nights ago but as usual Gordon was there with her." Gordon had a special bond with his niece, she seemed to open up to him.

"Gordon called to let us know not long after it happened, we told him to keep Robyn in with him." He'd been worrying about it ever since. Of course he was glad to know that Gordon was with her but it didn't stop him worrying.

"Ok I will see you in a few hours, once I arrive I want to talk to you about a couple of things. Don't worry son it's nothing bad."

"No worries Dad, I am going to go back in and see Jo before I head back to the apartment for some rest. Mum told me that she didn't want me sleeping in a hospital chair. If I am honest Dad I don't want to leave her in case anything happens."

"Please Virgil do as your Mother says. Believe me you don't want to take her on when she is in this mood. Besides Jo is in the best place should anything happen." As Jeff is talking to Virgil he hears a shout from the back of the jet.

"Mr Tracy something is wrong with Robyn, she can hardly breathe." There was an edge of panic in TinTin's voice.

"Look Virgil I have to go here, we will see you both once we get there." He was glad that his son hadn't heard TinTin shouting, right now he had enough to worry about.

"Ok Dad Virgil Tracy out."

"Sorry Tin-Tin what's going on with Robyn?" Asked Jeff as he put the jet onto auto to join Tin-Tin in the back. It didn't take long to work out what was wrong. "Can you go and get the First Aid Kit, by the looks of it Robyn is having some sort of attack." said Jeff as he lifted Robyn onto his knee.

"You think she is having an Asthma attack?"

"It looks like it, hand me that mask hopefully this should set her breathing back to normal. I will get Virgil to get her checked out once we get there." It wasn't easy to keep calm when his granddaughter was having so much trouble but somehow Jeff managed it.

"Mr Tracy would you like me to fly the rest of the way while you get Robyn sorted? Maybe if she hears your voice she'll calm down." As much as she wanted to stay with Robyn, TinTin knew that the sooner they got there the sooner they could get her sorted out.

"That would be great Tin-Tin, could you also give Virgil a call and tell him about Robyn? I know he has a lot on his mind but he needs to know about this." said Jeff.

"Ok Mr Tracy will do."

"It's going to be fine sweet heart Grandpa is here."

In the cockpit Tin-Tin calls Virgil to let him know what has just happened with Robyn.

"This is Tracy Two calling Virgil Tracy come in Virgil." It took a minute for Virgil to answer but when he did he could instantly tell something was wrong.

"Virgil here. Tin-Tin what can I do for you?"

"We had a small problem with Robyn, she had a small attack as we were in the air. At the minute your Father has things under control. He wants you to get her checked over, we think that Robyn could be an asthmatic."

"She is ok right?" She could hear his voice shaking as he spoke.

"Yeah like I said your Father has things under control, I am flying the rest of the way while he takes care of Robyn."

"Ok Tin-Tin thanks for letting me know, tell Dad that I will get Robyn checked over once you arrive. Let me know if she gets any worse before you arrive." As much as he didn't want to he knew that distracting TinTin wouldn't help right now.

"How is Jo doing?"

"A lot better thanks, fingers crossed hopefully she'll be getting out in the morning. Things seem to be looking up now, ok Tin-Tin we will see you both in a few hours I will let Jo know what's happened." Said Virgil.

"We should be with you in about three and a half hours from now."

"Thanks for letting me know Tin-Tin. Virgil Tracy out." She hated how tired he sounded, why did bad things happen to such good people? It just isn't fair.

Back at the hospital Virgil had come back to tell Jo what had happened, thankfully she was looking a lot better now that she was being taken care of.

"Hey you are looking a lot better, do you feel it?" He asked placing a kiss on the top of her head.

"I feel lots better, anyway how did it go with Holly and Laura?" Asked Jo with a smile. She was bored.

"It went fine, wait a sec did you know about these two before we left the island?" He'd wondered before but hadn't had the time to ask.

"Well she had to tell someone and didn't want your Dad knowing about it, in a way she wanted to bring them over last minute."

"Boy that is going to go down well with Dad, speaking of which Dad he is on his way over with Robyn now. He had some trouble on the flight over." This wouldn't go down well.

"What happened?" Instantly she sat up, worry marring her features.

"Robyn had a small attack on the flight over, Tin-Tin thinks that she could be an asthmatic. I am going to get her checked once she arrives here. Tin-Tin had to take over for Dad so he could go and help Robyn."

"She is alright?"

"Yeah Dad is sorting her, they will be with us in about three hours from now. I think that Dad wants to talk to me about Tracy Crop, I think he wants me to take it over while we are over here. At least the office is only a few miles from here, which means if anything happens then I can be straight over here. I have also been thinking that maybe…" He wasn't sure how to approach this, what would she think.

"About what?"

"How would you feel about Mom and the girls moving in with us? It means if I have to work then there is someone there for you and Robyn. We can always do a trial run in school with Robyn and see how it goes."

"Would you let me think about this? If I am honest I really don't need babysitting and I know that you mean well. Your Mom did tell me that you would get like this." just as the couple were talking Lisa walked into the room with a smile on her face.

"Ok Lisa why are you smiling?"

"Well your blood test come back all clear, your blood pressure is back the way it should be. You still have some water around the babies which seems to be easing off now. I am pleased to say that, I can discharge you in a couple of hours. But you have got to take it easy, no stress, no nothing. I am going to bring your next appointment foreword because we want to keep an eye on things now." Explained Lisa as her eyes flicked over the chart in her hands.

"You know that I didn't have any problems with Robyn, I will just be glad to get these babies out and into my arms." Jo sighed as she placed her hands on her stomach.

"I take it that you are getting fed up already?"

"A bit, hey could you do something for us?"

"Sure what is it?" Lisa said as she replaced the chart.

"While on the flight over with my Dad, Robyn went into a small attack. We think that she could be asthmatic but we are not sure. Any chance you could have a look at her?"

"That's not a problem, has she had any attacks like this before?" Jo shook her head.

"No this is the first time that she has had one."

"How long till they get here?" Asked Lisa.

"About three hours from now, my Dad is bringing her over." Virgil explained, taking Jo's hand.

"No worries."

Back on Tracy Two Jeff had managed to calm Robyn down and somehow was able to get her to sleep. Jeff quietly made his way into the cockpit to join TinTin.

"Hey Mr Tracy did you get Robyn sorted?"

"Yeah I did, I wonder what brought that attack on? She seemed fine when Virgil was bringing them both over to the island for the first time." It was strange that it just came on out of the blue.

"I wouldn't worry about it Mr Tracy, let the hospital and her parents sort it. Remember you can't do anything you haven't already done." said Tin-Tin with a smile.

"If I am honest I still can't get over that fact that I am a grandfather, don't get me wrong I love it but I think that three will be enough for me." Just thinking about Robyn made him feel old.

"Do we know what they are having?"

"No they seem to be keeping that a secret for now, I get the feeling that my Mother knows because she is using her spare time doing some knitting. I've asked but she won't say a thing." TinTin stifled a laugh as Jeff pouted.

"Do you blame her? I bet she never thought that she would see great grandchildren and she is making the most of it." They were interrupted by a voice.

"Virgil Tracy calling Tracy Two."

"Go ahead Virgil."

"Just had a phone call from Mom she said that she would drop by and pick you up all up at the airport. Penny is with Jo so Mom volunteered." There was something in Virgil's voice, something off.

"Ok Virgil understood, how is Jo now?"

"Doing great Lisa is letting her go in a couple of hours, her blood work and everything came back clear. Anyway I am hoping that I could take Jo out for something to eat tonight. After all it is our one year anniversary."

"So you were wondering if your Mother and I could babysit for a couple of hours?"

"Please Dad that would be so helpful." Jeff could almost picture his sons pleading eyes.

"No worries son we should be with you in about an hour from now. Robyn is now settled and fast asleep."

"Thanks Dad for bringing her over, if I am honest I didn't want to leave Jo just yet. We've had a word with Lisa and she is going to check Robyn over for us."

"If Robyn is still a sleep I will carry her into you if need be." Said Jeff.

"Ok Dad will I better let you go, give Robyn a kiss from us both."

"I will see you both later."

An hour later Jeff landed at the airport to be met by Lucy, completely unaware that she had two surprises with her.
