AN: Okay, I decided since I've been watching a certain movie series lately, and that since I'm on this fictional places kick (Atlantis, The Mysterious Island), I'd add one more fictional place to the mix. Anyone who is a fan of dinosaurs and knows this series will know that the series has 5 islands off the coast of Costa Rica that are nicknamed the 'The Five Deaths'. The island is going to be in the next chapter and I don't know how many chapters will be on the island, probably two at most, I don't know, I'll know when I finish chapter 8.

This chapter is dedicated to Musical Cake and Songorita.

Hope everyone likes the addition, and to those who celebrate it: I hope you have a happy Easter.

Happy Reading!

Chapter Seven: Costa Rica

"What island are we landing on?" I asked Killian as we made our way into the south pacific.

"Isla de Muerta." Killian replied, "It's off the coast of Costa Rica."

"Lovely." I replied sarcastically, "Will we be expecting dinosaurs or living skeletons?"

"I was hoping dinosaurs." He replied smirking.

"You've gotta be kidding." I groaned, "They're extinct."

"I don't know; my father wouldn't let me come on this leg of the journey. I met up with them later. The guys they replaced me with were gone when I met up with them. They weren't really talkative about it. They were all bruised and bloody though. So I thought it was dinosaurs."

"Why do we have to land in Jurassic Park?"

"Actually, Jurassic Park is on Isla Nublar and the Lost World is Isla Sorna."

"Great."

"One more thing you should know, this was the island your parent s were placed on."

"How did you know?"

"Heard Riley mention it."

"My mother didn't come back from that island."

"Bianca vaguely mentioned that when they came back and she understood why." Killian replied, "By the looks of the group, they barely made it out themselves."

"Why are we landing here, Killian?" I glared.

"We have to get the map."

"What map?"

"They left the clues behind so if people came to find them, they would have the means to find them."

"And if the map isn't there?"

"Then we won't find how to get to the Mysterious Island, which leads to Atlantis."

"And all of our efforts would be for nothing."

"You sure about the dinos?"

"I don't know. My father gave me this though." Killian pulled out something from his pocket.

"He gave you a bear claw?" I guessed, not really getting what it had to do with the island.

"Not a bear, mate." Killian replied.

"What is it then?"

"According to my uncle, it's from a raptor."

"Bullshit."

"It is."

"Then it's a fossil."

"Does this look fossilized to you?"

It didn't. It looked new.

"Should we tell them?" I asked him unsure.

"I wouldn't." He replied, "Got any weapons on you?"

"I personally don't, but Henry does. Carissa borrowed some from home as well. There might be some on the plane." I tried to think of who would have some. It was hard to say. "You got any?"

"Some."

"Did their parents have any?"
"Only Bianca, Riley, Aaron, and John."

"So we have a good chance of getting out of this?"

"Maybe. Hard to say."

"How do you explain Jurassic Park being real?"

"Crichton explored the Isla de Muerta with its creator and a group of other people and wrote a book on it. Changed the names, made up a few people, came up with a few extra plot points and came up with a book."

"Four people died in the first one alone."

"Yeah…Anyone we can afford to lose out of all of them if one of us has to die?"

"None that I can think of."

"Let's see, can't lose you, you're our way off. Blondie, she's kinda hot and I owe her a favor, so she's gotta stay. Jeanette's smart, she could be useful. Zach's technologically inclined, that'll come in handy. Carissa's in charge, so she stays. Tristan has archeological knowledge; he may come in handy later. The twins are con-artists, it would be easier to have them with us than dead…I don't know anything about Porter other than she needs to loosen up a bit. And then Henry, he could keep us out of jail."

"You really don't care who lives or dies, do you?"

"When you've seen as much as I have, you tend to care less and less as time goes on about those things."

"How did you get involved in this?"

"My dad owed Bianca a favor and when the deal was struck, a few weeks before they had to leave, he came to me going 'you're leaving with me in a couple of weeks. We're going on an expedition. If you ever want me to nod off on this crazy venture of yours, you will come with me no questions asked.' And so without a choice really, I went along. If this was the way to get his approval, I had to go. So I-"

"What was your crazy venture?" I asked him, "What did you want to do?"

"I want to leave Ireland for good. I want to teach literature in the United States and write books."

"What level?"

"Secondary school."

"You want to teach High School English?!" I asked him incredulously, "Are you crazy?! You have the ability to do something crazy and exciting and you choose to do High School English?! You want to make shit poor money and be around sex crazed teenagers for the rest of your life?! Why?!"

"You do know almost half the group are teenagers?"

"They're different though."

"They're your family."

"Hopefully one day." I smiled softly.

I guess we all were a little off the norm. We were all forced to grow up a little earlier than we were supposed to. Seth grew up the fastest. He started to grow up the moment his father was declared missing. He had Henry teach him everything he could to start becoming a man. The twins grew more intellectually than in maturity and Elizabeth, Henry, and Tristan were pretty much adults already when I met them. Carissa and her siblings grew up before their time, but in a different way. Jeanette, I always thought she grew up before she was even in double digits. Around the time her parents disappeared was probably when she grew up. Taking care of everything became a three man job for them, and it caused her to grow up. Zach was the man of the house. He was around to help Carissa take care of Jeanette. Carissa started growing up before her parents gave her the okay to go on expeditions. She was already in some ways like a grown up when I met her. She just understood more than kids our age did. She was the person in the most logical sense should have made me her enemy, but instead became my closest friend. It was very easy to say we had a lot of history.

I shook off the old memories and observed the area.

"Where do we land?" I asked Killian

"How much do you value this plane?" He replied.

"How much do you value your life?" I asked him in return.

"We land in Costa Rica and take a boat over to the Isla de Muerta."

I nodded, and made our course to Costa Rica.

Carissa's POV

"Why didn't you just say we were headed to Costa Rica?" I asked Killian after we landed.

"Because this was not where we were headed, it was the safest place to land." Killian replied, "We have to take a boat over."

"You" I pointed to Killian, "And you," I pointed to Will, "Come with me. Now."

We went out of hearing range.

"What's going on?" I asked them seriously, "Where are we going?"

"Isla de Muerta." Killian replied.

"What?" I asked confused.

"You remember the movie Jurassic Park?" Will asked.

"Yeah." I replied not really get his point.

"That's where we're going." They stated.

"Great." I replied unenthusiastically, and then stated seriously, "We're not taking everyone with us."

"What do you propose?" Killian asked.

"Elizabeth, Tristan, and Alice stay behind with Jeanette, Zach, and the twins." I stated, "We talk a four man team on to the island, get what we need, then get off."

They both nodded.

"Will, you get Henry and tell the rest that they're staying here till we return. Make sure they know to lay low and stick to their aliases. Killian and I will get a boat, meet us by the harbor." I instructed. Will nodded and we went our separate ways.

Zach's POV

"What the hell do you mean we're stuck here while you four are gallivanting on some damn island?" I asked annoyed. The whole reason we all came on this trip was so we could work together.

"Look, these are Carissa's orders. The island's not safe, so you guys are staying here." Will replied. It was only Charlotte, Thomas, Will, Henry, and I. Jeanette, Alice, and Elizabeth went to go get food. Tristan and Seth went to go find somewhere to stay.

"If the island's not safe, why are you guys going?" Thomas asked.

"What's on the island?" Charlotte asked.

"There are man-eating monsters on the island, so anyone under-aged can't go, and since you guys can't get anywhere without an adult, Miss Porter, Elizabeth, and Tristan are staying with you. Charlotte and Thomas, you're staying with Tristan. Seth's staying with Elizabeth. Zach, I need you and Jeanette to stay with Miss Porter make she doesn't get the coppers involved."

We nodded knowing that it was the only thing we were going to get out of him. He and Henry left and I got on the phone with Tristan and Elizabeth to tell them what was going on. Thank god for three way calling, saves the hassle.

"Yeah, hey it's Oliver. Anna and Jake are going with Nick and um…" I quickly thought of a name for Killian, "Collin over to an island on the coast. Jane and Michael are staying with" I sighed not really wanting to call Tristan what I was going to call him, "dad. Terrence is staying with Roxanne. Olivia and I are staying with…" I quickly thought of a name for Alice, "Gemma. We are to stay here until they return." I hung up the phone and we went and found something to do until we heard something from one of them.
