Chapter 6

It was hard to tell who has been more shocked when she slapped his hand away from her. Ayato never had thought that his little plaything would ever deny him. But then again, he realized, that she had denied him quite often lately, not to mention how she had left the mansion together with his half brother. Ayato narrowed his eyes, he was as pissed off as he was shocked. Yui had never pushed him away before, not like this. In the other hand, Yui was also shocked. Never had crossed in her mind that she would slapped him. She had never meant to. Sure she didn't want him to touch her so casually, not when he was engaged to another woman, but she had never meant to hurt him. She bit her lower lip and looked away from him. No, she shouldn't feel bad. It was his fault, she just didnt want him to do as he pleased.

Ayato was really angry when she looked away from him. What was it? After slapping him now she refused to look at him? This stupid woman didn't know to whom she belonged, did she.

"Stupid woman, not only you have no boobs but also no brain," he hissed, "who do you think you are? I came here to take you back with me."

Yui frowned, "what for? I left you for a reason! I dont want to see you again!"

Ayato's face turned bright red. She had raised her voiced against him. Lately she had done so many shocking things which somehow made him desperate, though he would never admit it. Maybe the white haired bastard had influenced her, yeah it must have been Subaru's doing. He had kidnapped her and now he also had brainwashed her. Ayato hated this and he would not leave it like this. After all of this time he had used to think that Yui was his possession and only him may do anything to her.

"Where is that bastard?" his voice was shaking and demanding, actually it scared her to see him like this but she had decided that she wouldn't let him affected her in any way. Not anymore after how he had played with her feeling.

"What do you want? Subaru is not here. It is not his fault. I left by my own will." Yui shook her head, this time she sounded more tired than ever, "Ayato-kun, please leave me alone. You not good for me, you have a fiance and you would marry her, why would you need me? I am a human. I am not good for you, I am sorry if I had hurt your feeling, but..."

Yui could not finish her words as Ayato quickly grabbed her and put her on his shoulder, ready to take her away from this place. Yui was too surprised to react for the first few seconds, she let him took her away, leaving the house.

"PUT ME DOWN!"

Ayato gritted his teeth, there was no way he would obey her, "Shut up! I would take you home. Listen, you could never leave the mansion ever again without me permission, understand?!"

Yui bit her lower lip. The tears were ready to fall as she felt more and more frustrated. How selfish a vampire could be? Why couldn't Ayato understand her feeling? He kept treating her like a thing, maybe his personal belonging, and that wasn't what she want.

When she stopped shouting and fighting, Ayato smirked, maybe she had finally given up? He was about to say something but to his surprised he heard her start sobbing. She was crying.

When she opened her mouth, she was trembling and even Ayato could hear how hurt she was from her voice, "put me down... I beg you, please put me down, don't make me hate you anymore than this."

Her word stung him badly. He had heard her calling him stupid and pervert, he had her slapped him, running away from him, but hearing to those words felt much worse than anything else she had ever done to him. He stopped but said nothing, he couldn't think at the time. Dod he really said that?

"I hate you, please leave me alone... I hate you very much."

There were something deep inside him, breaking.

.

"Where is Ayato-sama?"

Maria frowned when instead of the man she was looking for, it was Laito Sakamaki who was laying in the couch, reading a magazine. The beautiful woman folded her skinny arms and lift an eyebrow, demanding for an answer from her soon-to-be-brother-in-love. Laito didn't seem to be interested with the female vampire or her question, he ignored her question purposely and continued reading the magazine. It made Maria lost her patience, she walked toward the couch and pulled the magazine away forcedfully from the green eyed vampire.

"What the fuck!" Laito hissed, he sat up quickly and glared at her angrily, "give it back to me!"

She shook her head and snorted, "later, now you have to tell me where is my husband."

Laito rolled his eyes, "you're not married yet."

"So what?" Maria narrowed her eyes, even though Laito is Ayato's brother, Maria didn't think that she needs to pretend to be nice to him. She could see that the brown haired vampire didn't really fond of her and she returned the sentiment, "we will be, soon."

Laito sighed and smiled, he lifted his shoulder and shook his head, this woman definitely knew nothing about his brother. Laito hadn't heard anything about Ayato's plan but he had known him for so long that he knew that there was no way his brother would really marry her.

"Listen, I will only say this because I pity you," Maria glared at him at the word 'pity' but Laito didn't seem to be scared at all, "you know nothing about my brother. You gotta stop now. Maybe you really love my brother, I don't care, but let me advice you: don't bite more than what you can chew. You will never have his heart."

"What do you mean?!" Maria's face turned red in anger as she clenched her hands, "you mean someone else had his heart?!"

Laito shrugghed, "you're not as stupid as what I thought..."

"You!"

Both of them paused as the sound of someone slamming the door open. Ayato entered the room in hurried he didn't say anything as he walked to the stair, he didn't even look at them but Laito had a feeling that something had just happened to his brother.

"Ayato-sama, where have you been?" When he saw Maria tried to follow Ayato to his room, Laito tried to remind the woman.

"Wait, don't!"

But he was too late. Maria had caught up with Ayato and touched his arms. What happened next had been predicted by Laito. Ayato shoved her away roughly without even bother to look at her. Her body fell down from the last stair case to the floor with a loud cracking sound. Laito grimmaced when he saw blood from her head as she tried to sat up. He didn't help her. He knew that vampire wouldn't be dead that easily and he had warned her before. Besides, to be honest, he didn't care even if she died.

Laito was about to leave when he heard the woman cursing under her breath.

"Kill... I will kill that girl..."

Laito turned and narrowed his eyes. His words were full of venom when he opened his mouth, "Listen, I don't know really why Ayato still let you alive but if you still wanna live for another few hundreds years, it's better for you to stay away from that girl. It's for your own good."

"I don't need your opinion." She spat.

She always got what she wanted and nobody might stand in her way.

.

Ayato locked his room as soon as he was in. He didn't want to see anyone at the time, not his stupid brothers or stupid fiancee. Especially his stupid fiancee.

How could it turned out like this, so far his plan had been perfect. His plan was flawless. He would use Maria to gain more power. Then he could be the vampire king, after he got all the power he needed, then... Ayato growled frustratedly. This was not what he had planned. Why couldn't that stupid girl understand his intention? Why couldn't she wait for him to work on his plan patiently, and after that...

After that...

There was a weird feeling in his chest right now. It hurt so bad that he thought he might have become a human. This kind of feeling didn't suit him at all. That human girl didn't understand. All the reason behind his plan was for her. Everything he had done was done for her. She just needed to wait patiently. She was his, and his only, he would never let anyone else touched her. She had always been his, why couldn't she understand? Why did she choose to runaway with that damn Subaru? Couldn't she see that he was trying?

His plan had seemed so perfect until he realized he had miscalculate something.

At first he thought, Yui would understand that the way he acted toward her in front of Maria was necessary, or else, that vampire wouldn't trust him and it would ruin his perfect plan. He thought that even without him telling her out loud his feeling, she would understand that he... That he...

Now he had screwed everything up.

He had to do something to win her back no matter how.

.

Subaru knew that something had just happened to Yui but he didn't know what. During the dinner time Yui had been awfully quiet. He tried to start a conversation, even though he was bad at it, but she would only forced a smile to answer. He didn't know how to make Yui talk about it, he really wanted to ask but he wasn't sure if it was a good idea.

Yui knew that she made Subaru worried about her. She did try to smile and act as if nothing had happened but she couldn't. Her head had been full of Ayato and what had happened earlier that day. Even though she forced a smile as something he said, her heart wasn't into it and what made her feeling even worse was because she realized that Subaru knew. He knew that she was thinking about Ayato and she felt really bad about it.

After dinner Yui returned to the room she had been stayed in these past week. She had just tried to close her eyes when Subaru knocked on the door and entered the room. The white haired man asked her if she wanted to take a walk for a while in the forest. From the way he asked, she knew he wanted to talk about something with her so she smiled and nodded. She grabbed her jumper before they both left to take a walk in the forest.

The moon was beautiful.

As they walked near the lake, Yui could see the full moon was reflected on the lake's surface. She kicked a peble as they walked. For a reason she was nervous. She waited for Subaru to say something because she couldn't find anything to talk about.

"Did Ayato come to see you today?"

Yui was surprised when the first question came from Subaru was about Ayato. She knew he knew about it, so why asked? Did he want to hear it directly from her.

She sighed.

"Yes, he did."

SUbaru frowned, "did he... do something that hurt you?"

Yes.

"No," Yui lied despite she knew he could see through her lies, "He just wanted me to return to the Manor but I refuse. I... well, that woman lives there, I don't want to see her..."

Subaru stopped, he touched her shoulder gently, his words were so soft, almost weird, comeing from a tall guy like him, "you don't have to return to the manor. You can stay with me, here, forever..."

Yui tilted her face ans smiled, Subaru was really nice, "Thank you..."

"I am not being nice with you," Subaru scowled, his voice was trembling, so was his hand on her shoulder, "Ayato planned to marry that woman to get power, just like our father, he wants more power. If you returned to him, he would only hurt you... Just like my father hurt my mother, I... I don't want you to become like my mother..."

Yui felt his grip on her shoulder tightened.

Slowly she touched his cheek and smiled softly, "Thank you, Subaru-kun, really... I..."

"Marry me."

Yui startled. She wanted to pull her hand but he caught it. Subaru kissed her palm gently, ignoring Yui's red face. His eyes were gentle as he looked into her magenta eyes.

"I know you already said no once but I don't want to give up. I still want to marry you. I promise I will make you happy. This time, I didn't want you to turn me down..." He smiled gently, something he almost never do, "Would you marry me?"

Yui gasped. She had never seen him smiling like that. He knew that he was serious and he really meant it...

He loves me.

She just wanted to be happy...

Yui closed her eyes.

A flash of someone's face appeared as she closed her eyes.

Slowly she opened her eyes and smiled.

"Ok, I will marry you, Subaru-kun..."
