After a few minutes, the protests he heard soon died down. In curiosity, Takano stole a glance at Ritsu. Noticing his face turning red as he looked at his phone, Takano grew curious. ' Hey Ritsu,' he called, ' What are you doing?'
Hearing his voice, Ritsu widened his eyes considerably and hurriedly shut his phone, stowing it away in his pocket. ' N-nothing!' Ritsu yelled, sitting up straight, with his chest tucked out.
Amused by his sudden movement, Takano resisted the urge to laugh out loud, knowing how much of a fuss Ritsu will put up later. Suppressing his urge, Takano simply shook his head and schooled his features to a serious look. 'Now Ritsu, who was that?' Asking gently yet sternly, Takano inclined his head slightly towards Ritsu's direction.
'T-that? Um… that was no one! Really!' Ritsu hurriedly stated.
Despite our brunette's insistence, he still couldn't help but shrink slightly at the frustrated glare Takano threw over at him.
'Okay Ritsu, I'm not playing anymore. Who the hell was that?' Takano asked, his attention partially divided between his lover and the road.
Noticing Takano's attention wavering slightly towards him, Ritsu panicked. ' Takano-san, eyes on the road!'
However, Takano took no action as to what was said, and instead did the opposite. Peeling his eyes away from the road, Takano looked at Ritsu and simply stared, knowing that he'll break down sooner or later due to the pressure he was giving him.
However, Ritsu was also adamant not to let Takano realize anything. So, instead Ritsu tried convincing him to look at the road. ' Takano-san, look. Later, when we arrive back home, we can talk. So, now, please look at the road?'
Seeing that his soft attempt had made no reaction to Takano, Ritsu sighed and looked to the side, and got struck by inspiration. Right there, on the side of the road was a poster which showed a couple yet the word seduction was the one that stood out. Ritsu took a deep gulp and mentally prepared himself before turning over to look at Takano, however the moment he did so, he saw a car headed straight for them! 'Ah! Takano-san, be careful!' Ritsu yelled, pointing towards the car that was right in front of them.
Fortunately, the moment Takano turned his attention back to the car, he managed to swerve in the nick of time preventing a major accident from occurring. Finally when the event was over, they were both looking at each other with a look of disbelief, still being unable to accept the fact that they were both alive and breathing. Soon, Ritsu was able to regain his composure and smacked Masamune over the head. ' You idiot!' Ritsu yelled, his face flushed. ' Did you just realize what you did?' Ritsu continued his reproachful attitude.
Takano simply nodded, his head bowed down in shame, thinking of the danger that he caused to his uke. His Ritsu could have died in that accident earlier. Simply thinking of the thought caused Takano to begin shivering and shuddering. Mentally scolding himself for the trouble caused, he quickly bent down and wanted to apologize to Ritsu. Tilting his head downwards, Takano was about to apologize when he noticed Ritsu's tears. ' Ritsu?' He hurriedly asked, thinking that he was injured.
However, Ritsu simply hugged him tightly, whispering brokenly, ' I could have lost you, baka! Take better care of yourself!'
Upon hearing those words, Takano felt his eyes widen. Repeating what Ritsu had said to him in his head, Takano felt his mouth dry, in his mind those words that Ritsu had told him kept on repeating and repeating in him mind. ' H-he wants me? Even after all the hurt he's been through, even after how I put his life in danger, he still wants me? H-he still wants me.. He completely doesn't care about his own safety.. only mine?' Those were the only thoughts he was able of thinking right now, until finally, he could not contain the happiness and frustration bubbling from within him. Holding Ritsu tightly to his chest, Takano breathed in his Ritsu's hair, fresh tears at the thought of Ritsu's concern towards him glistening at the sides of his eyes ' Ritsu, Ritsu, Ritsu.'
All throughout the entire time of their interaction, Ritsu shuddered at the thought of losing Takano, whereas Takano took comfort in the thought of his uke caring about him so much. During which both had the same thought in mind, the insecurity and guilt of losing each other.
Finally, the silence was broken by Ritsu's words, ' T-Takano-san? I-If you really wanted to know who messaged me, it was my mother. She wanted me to meet An-chan next week during dinner. But I promise I don't feel anything for her!'
Once he heard that, Takano's initial reaction was jealousy. However, the moment he heard how adorable Ritsu explained himself to make him feel better, Takano smiled. Bearing a wide grin on his face, Takano chuckled, 'You're seriously adorable, you know?'
Naturally, Ritsu blushed and turned away, leaving a comfortable silence between the duo all throughout the journey to their house.
