A/N - At long last...I'm back bitches! Life got in the way but I'm good now. Looking back at the last six chapters, I kind of cringe at times, but the important thing is (obviously) that you guys were really enjoying the story. I will try not to go on a nearly yearlong break from now on. I also decided to abandon the playlist thing, instead, at the end of the chapter I will list a song or two I had in mind at a certain part of the chapter. Music always helps you envision the scene. Anyway, I have many ideas floating around in my brain...lots of comedy, lots of bloodshed, lots of badass-ness, and maybe even little love ;) Forgive me if I mess up a lot since it's been a while... let's continue this shit.

I am the stone that builder refused
I am the visual
The inspiration
That made lady sing the blues

I'm the spark that makes your idea bright
The same spark
that lights the dark
So that you can know your left from your right

I am the ballot in your box
The bullet in your gun
The inner glow that lets you know
To call your brother son
The story that just begun
The promise of what's to come
And I'm 'a remain a soldier till the war is won

Chapter 7 - Jazmine

Jazmine slowly opened the passenger door and stepped outside. As she did that, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye... a paper airplane. She timidly walked into the middle of the street and picked it up.

Walking back towards the car, Jaz opened it up and read:

"Consider yourself lucky"

She looked around for a few seconds... no one there.

LRC

The crew made their way out of the rotting cave, the sunlight hitting their squinting eyes. Riley and Cindy were holding a couple of black textbooks which Huey had instructed them not to open.

"Ok guys," Huey said, "let's go about our business."

They walked for about three minutes before Riley asked, "Hey fat ass, what that ol' bitch do to you?"

Lamilton looked up, a rope was still tied around his neck, "Nothin'. She was just tryin' to scare me."

A huge stomach grumbled.

"You got anything to eat?" asked Lamilton.

"Pick something off the trees," answered Huey.

The fat boy looked up… fruit. He walked over and rammed his body into the tree, causing a couple of apples to fall.

"... Well, shit." Thugnificent said.

Lamilton snatched an apple from the lowest branch and took a big bite out of it. What happened next was unexpected.

Jazmine

Jazmine made her way over to the police line, peeking over it and fearfully observed what looked like one hundred feet of dirt leading into a forest down below.

"It's easy Jaz," she thought, "just pretend you're…. at a park... rolling down a hill. A really big hill."

She wiped her tears away with her sweater and climbed under the tape.

Jazmine ducked under the tape and stepped on the wet dirt, nearly slipping. She breathed heavily, thinking, "Ok, on three...one, two...two and half..."

Her teeth grinded together and her eyes opened in fear.

"Three."

She shut her eyes as hard as she could, sat down, and let go of the tape.

"I'm OK, I'm OK, I'm OK..."

Rummy and Jack

Jack Flowers and Gin Rummy stepped into a black car just outside of the FBI building Rummy had his nuts kicked in

"So how did you convince them to let me go?" asked Rummy as Jack started the car.

"I only know one method of persuasion."

The car went sped towards the freeway entrance and towards Woodcrest. The streets were slowly returning to normal.

"And you knew about this shit all along?"

"Let's just say I have seen things that have destroyed my faith in humanity. Huey thinks Ronald Reagan is the devil? He doesn't have a clue."

Rummy nodded; confident he would be the one to pop a cap in Obama's bitch ass.

"So what are we gonna do about this?" he asked, "I ain't bendin' over and takin' it from any mothafucka."

"First...call your homie."

LRC

Lamilton was writhing in pain on the floor, holding his mouth. Everyone surrounded him but did nothing to help.

"Ahhhh! Ain't no one gonna help me?"

"Nope." said Riley.

"It must be the spell the lady did," Huey said.

"Eating food gives him uncontwollable pain?" Ming suggested, to which Doomis added, "no one help help this spawn of Satan, it's for his own good."

Lamilton began to calm down and now laid on the floor, panting and sweating.

"Get cho' ass up nigga," said Thugnificent as he hauled him up by his sweater, "we got places to be."

The crew began walking as Doomis spoke up again, "Well...I guess I'm not needed here anymore if you have everything under control, Huey."

"Well..." Huey began, "you do know a lot about Lamilton."

"Not that you people listen to me," Doomis replied, taking out a card and handing it to Huey. "There's my number if or when you ever need me."

With that Dr. Doomis walked into the woods, leaving Lamilton there with the crew. Then, Ed's phone rang.

"Oh shit." Ed answered the phone.

Ed: What happened ma-

Gin: Man, shut the fuck up.

Ed: ...

Gin: Good. Now where are you?

Ed: We headed towards uhhh...

"What's the name if the ranch?" Ed asked.

Sergio answered, "De Carlo."

Ed: De Carlo Ranch.

There was a short pause.

Gin: Well get on yo' road runner shit and get over there A.S.A.P. We'll be there in a little while.

Click.

Jazmine

Jaz laid on the cold mud at the bottom of the hill, her pink sweater now mostly covered in brown. What was she thinking? She couldn't move, tears streamed down her face. She was pretty sure her left arm was broken. She had numerous cuts and bruises that she didn't even want to look at.

After a few minutes, she slowly stood up and began limping into the forest, holding her arm at a 90 degree angle. "Where could they have gone?" she thought. There were no footprints, no friends, no parents. Nothing but trees and mud. All she could do was eenie meenie, miney, mo. So she picked a direction and limped on.

"Huey!"... "Anyone!?"

...

After a couple of hours of walking, her stomach began to growl. Looking around the place, she spotted apples in the trees, although they were too high for her to reach. She also spotted a squirrel which froze with a nut in its hands. That brought a smile to her face. That smile then gave way to her inner thoughts. "Feed me some food!" her stomach screamed at her. With a whimper, she watched the squirrel run up a nearby tree and onto a branch as she walked past it.

"C'mon, Mr. Squirrel. Can you drop some food, please?"

The squirrel continued to stare at her, then it began to gnaw on its nut. The forest turned into a bright orange color as the sun started to set. Doubt began to creep into Jazmine's mind. As she continued to walk to nowhere in particular, she spotted another animal, this time it a mockingbird. This would have brought another smile to her face, had it not been for her aching stomach. So, she simply looked up at it, and it looked back at her.

"...Have you seen a boy with an afro walk by here?"

The mockingbird then began to sing a little serenade as Jaz sat against a tree and closed her eyes. She tried to relax and think "happy thoughts". She thought of Huey, Riley, Mr. Freeman...Mr. Freeman? The image of him got stuck in her head for some reason as the mockingbird continued to sing. That image then began to talk.

"What is a sweet, delicate girl like you doing out here by yourself?" asked Mr. Freeman.

"I..." she thought, "I don't know."

"Oh, you're trying to find my two grand kids and the band of misfits, aren't you?"

"Mhhm."

"Yeah, I thought so. Do you know where they are?"

She shook her head as tears ran down her face.

"Now, now. Don't cry little baby, you have to stay strong. You know where they are."

"I do?"

"Yeah, they're...uhh, you know... in your heart."

"...Can you please tell me where they are, Mr. Freeman?"

"Sorry baby. I'm just here to say something uplifting and you do the rest, haven't you watched any movies?"

Jazmine nodded.

"Yeah well, remember what they did and you'll find what you're looking for."

"OK."

"Yeah, just-"

"Whoa, let me get in on this!"

Riley bumped Mr. Freeman out of the way and looked around.

"This is some trippy shit, Jazmine. If I were you I would- Ow!"

Mr. Freeman chased Riley away as he whipped him with his belt.

"I'll teach you to interrupt my God damn speech!"

They both slowly faded opened her eyes, it was almost dark. The mockingbird was still there... singing. She somehow stood up and began walking again.

"Thank you!"

Jazmine tried to keep her mind occupied with things other than food. She looked around, hearing all the little sounds of nature. Leaves blowing in the wind, crickets, and a bird sitting pretty on a low branch. Right underneath the bird was the biggest apple she had ever seen. Her stomach called to her.

A rock was sitting next to a bush. "Pick me up," the rock said, "you know you want to." Jazmine carefully walked over to the rock and picked it, staring at it. Arguing with it. "What if I hit the bird?" she thought. She looked up at the other apples, "I don't think I can hit them all the way up there." Her focus then shifted to the big apple as her hand started to involuntarily cock back. "Stop, stop, stop, stop..." The rock flew through the air, as if in slow motion. It hit the apple as the bird flapped away. It dropped onto the floor.

LRC

Most of the crew was eating at the large dining table of the De Carlo house. Jack and Rummy had joined them earlier in the day and were brought up to speed on the situation. Huey let Mr. and Mrs. De Carlo know they only needed some horses, but they insisted that the crew spent the night to rest and eat. Lamilton force fed himself.

Mr. and Mrs. De Carlo had a twelve year old daughter who was showing Riley, Cindy, Ming, and Huey where they would be spending the night. She had long black hair and a pink sweatshirt. Her name was Georgia.

"So this your room?" Riley began, stepping inside the wooden cube with two sleeping bags. There was a book shelf, a small desk with a lamp, an amateur painting on the wall, and a bunk bed. "Where the T.V. at?"

"Sorry," Georgia began, "the only T.V. is in the living room. I have uhhh some books you can read."

Georgia walked over to her book shelf and grabbed a random one. Turning around, she noticed Riley and Cindy rolling on the ground, presumably wrestling over who would get the top bunk.

"Didn't you ever hear of ladies first!?"

"Didn't you ever hear real niggas don't give a shit!? 'Sides, you's a bitch."

"Hey, why don't you set up the sleeping bags, Ming?" Huey suggested. Ming nodded and tried to avoid Riley and Cindy. Huey walked over to the surprised Georgia and sat down in the chair by the desk.

"Did you paint that?" he asked, looking up at the painting of a rose in a desert.

Georgia giggled, "yeah, I uhhh... finished it last week." Her cheeks turned bright red.

"What does it symbolize?"

"Oh ummm... I don't know. I just thought it was something cool to do, I guess."

It didn't look like she had much friends, if at all. Not that she was "nerdy" or "uncool" but Huey knew it must have sucked living here for more than a day. He should at least be nice.

"Oh yeah!" Cindy boasted as she stood on the top bunk with her arms up, "C-Murph delivers in the clutch again!"

Riley dusted himself off, "Yeah, whatever." He then started setting up the other two sleeping bags and bed sheets Georgia's parents let them borrow.

"So what did you say your name was?" Georgia asked Huey.

"Huey."

Ming walked over to join the conversation.

"So why are you wearing that?" she asked again.

"It lets us be more agile and-"

"Man, just say it makes you look badass," Riley interrupted, "that's why you wearin' it."

Ming and Georgia laughed a little. The sun had set over the farm and everyone in the house started to go to sleep. Thugnificent, Leonard, Jack, Rummy, Ed, and Sergio took up the living room while Ruckus kept an eye on Lamilton outside.

Cindy grabbed her blanket and laid down on the top bunk while Ming, Riley, and Huey all laid down on the sleeping bags. Georgia took up the bottom bunk.

"Hey," Georgia began, "any of you guys wanna switch spots? I don't wanna be-"

"Right here!" Riley shouted, bouncing up and running over as Georgia got her blanket and stood up.

"See, Cindy?" Riley threw himself onto the bottom bunk. "She a lady, you's a-"

"If that makes you feel better," Cindy teased.

Georgia walked over to the spot in between Ming and Huey and made herself comfortable. A little closer to Huey than she was to Ming.

Huey had his eyes closed and turned away from everyone.

"Man, this is comfortable," Riley joked, "I'm actually glad I let you win now."

"Mmhmm."

Everything was silent for a moment. Then, Huey heard someone running up the steps quickly. He grasped his staff as the door busted open.

Jazmine

Jazmine chewed on the juicy apple as she limped on. The last flicker of sun light shined through the trees. "I have to find somewhere to sleep," she thought, looking around. There were some bushes that made a half circle several feet away... "yeah, I should stop here."

So she got as comfortable as she could in the grass and dirt. She finished her apple and threw it into the darkness. Jazmine closed her eyes and tried to ignore her left arm that cried out for a doctor. She shed a water fountain for her parents. She tried to ignore the fact that she may never find Huey but she could still- no. She would find him... somehow.

"They have to be close, right? Yeah, I can feel it... wait..."

She felt something else. Something... on her sock? She reached down to flick that something but...

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

Jazmine's screech bounced off of the moon and back as she stood up and jogged like a stupid teenager running from Jason. She held her good arm out, feeling for any trees she could have ran into. Something had bit her right leg.

"HUEY!...RILEY!...SOMEONE HELP!"

"No, no, no, I don't wanna die..."

More tears ran down her face as her panic meter hit eleven. She continued to call out for help as her lower leg began to feel numb.

"Jazmine!?"

It was barely audible, but she heard it.

"I'M OVER HERE!..."

"... Where!?"

"HELP!"

She ran towards the voice. She kept running until her leg gave out on her and she fell on her injured arm.

The agony was unbearable to the point where she opened her mouth but didn't scream. The numbness was halfway to her waist. She didn't have any energy left.

"Jazmine!?"

The voice was very close now, she heard many footsteps running in her direction. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a bright light.

"..."

"She's over here!" a famiar voice screamed out. Jazmine's eyes were closed halfway as she saw them approach with flashlights. Huey and... an Asian girl? Huey scooped her up into his arms. As they turned around she saw what looked like Riley and a cowboy.

"What happened?" Huey asked, running back towards them.

"...my right l-leg...my arm..."

She somehow managed to force those words out as as eyes gave out.

"Hey Jazmine, you wanna play hopscotch?"

One of Jazmine's classmates drew a hopscotch course on the otherwise clean pavement. Jazmine finished sipping on her juice box and stood up off the bench. She happily walked over and stood in line behind three other kids.

The first kid hopped. One foot, two feet, one, one, two, one, one, two. After the others went, it was Jazmine's turn.

One foot, one foot, one...wait. She tried as hard as she could to put her right foot down on the numbers but kept hopping on one foot all the way to the end.

"Don't you know how to play the game?" one girl asked.

"Yeah, I do. It's just-"

"It's probably the black in her," a fat kid joked, "the game's too complicated for her."

All of the kids bursted out laughing, many rolling on the floor and spitting out whatever they were drinking.

"No! I can do it!" Jazmine protested, hopping back over to the hopscotch course. She looked down at her feet. They were fine.

"Ok," she said to herself, hooping on the first box, "just put your-"

Smack!

Jazmine quickly opened her eyes, breathing heavily. Yep, she fell on her face.

She looked around the room. The walls were wooden, there was a pretty painting of a flower on the wall, and she was laying down on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed. The sun was shining bright today.

The bed sheet she was under was navy blue and had a picture of a grey wolf on it. She noticed that her injured arm was in a cast and the pain was one hundred times more tolerable. She was also wearing brand new clothes. Well, they were wrinkled but at least they fit.

After taking a deep breath, her attention shifted to her lower body. "Calm down Jazmine, everything's fine."

She continued to stare at the bed sheet, right where her right leg would be... is.

"..."

She grasped the bed sheet and slowly moved it out of the way.
