Welcome back guys, I'm sorry I had to delay the chapter a whole week. Rest assured! I will give you an awesome chapter. I promised my Rise of the Ancients readers that I would make their chapter awesome, and so I will now do the same for you all! (If you're wondering what happened in the RoTA chapter, I killed a main character and brought back another).
ON WITH THE STORY!
Some Surprises
"Raiden, this is Boris. What's your status?" The Russian man asked.
The cyborg was slowly walking through the short hallways as quiet as he could be. He had his HF Blade out and ready in case he needed to subdue a guard.
"I'm still inside the base. These hallways are endless; I can't seem to find anything like a server room." The black cyborg said as he peered around the corner into the next hallway.
Boris nodded, "Copy that, just try to stay undetected."
Kevin then cut in, "Hm, you know Raiden, always trying to get some action."
Raiden chuckled slightly, "You know me too well Kev."
The black cyborg then continued down the hall until he reached yet another adjacent way. He looked down both and saw nothing but dead ends. He went down the right and saw only one door on the left wall; he then went down the left and saw the same thing. Raiden then walked back the way he came and found a door he hadn't noticed before. It was down a smaller hallway that only went down around ten feet. The black cyborg felt his curiosity kick in and began to walk towards the door.
"Careful Raiden," Boris said, "we don't know what's behind that door."
The door was a large metallic behemoth with yellow and black surrounding the edges, as if to warn those who look at it that the room on the other end was dangerous.
As Raiden neared the door, he heard a soft noise emit from above him. He froze solid and looked up. Above him was a ventilation shaft. From the shaft came what sounded like footsteps.
The black cyborg activated his face mask and readied himself.
"I think I just found our bounty." He said before quickly slicing through the shaft. The wait of whomever was inside was enough to cause the entire thing to fall down. As it fell, the perpetrator fell out of it as well. He came out the cut end and landed on the floor in a roll. The being stopped rolling and slowly stood to his feet.
"Well well" Raiden said, "If it isn't X. I was looking for you when you disappeared in San Diego."
X looked at the cyborg with disgust, "You probably shouldn't have. I'm a lot more dangerous than you are. Looking for me is just risking your life."
Raiden slowly nodded, "So you're letting all your power go to your head. Good, that'll make killing you a lot easier. A cocky enemy lets his mind get in the way of his skill."
X shook his head, "I don't think so. I'm not a power hungry fool like Shunji is."
Raiden shrugged, "Power hungry?"
X then held his arms out to his sides, "Look at me! You're telling me that him creating me wasn't power hungry? Why else would he make something so powerful and so dangerous?"
Raiden looked at the cyborg with caution, "What are you getting at?"
X lowered his hands and shifted into his slim form, the Blaze form. He had named it so due to his increased speed and agility. He then activated his arm blades. The blades weren't swords, they were blades that ran up his forearm, making the weapon used with his Blaze from even more deadly.
"I'm saying that my mission is what's best." X said. He then got into his battle stance, "You are in my way, and I will not let anyone keep me from completing what I was forced into." he paused, "This is the last time I will see you."
Raiden shook his head, "I don't think so."
X lunged towards Raiden and brought his left arm up, slashing at the cyborg. Raiden deflected the attempt and slashed back, only to be deflected as well. X jumped back and let out a battle cry as he was pumped with the elektrolytes, activating Zandatsu. He was beyond quick and slashed at Raiden, landing two clean hits and perfect spin kick to the head. Raiden fell back and saw two large gashes on his abdomen. Thankfully, his pain inhibitors were in place, keeping him from feeling anything.
Raiden chuckled, "Nice hit" he smiled, "Now it's my turn!"
Now Raiden pumped himself with the elektrolytes, activating his own Zandatsu. The black cyborg let out a fury of slashes that X could hardly keep up with. The rouge cyborg did the best he could and deflected every slash he could see. Raiden was fast, almost too fast, but X was able to hold firm. The cyborg deflected each attack until Raiden ceased. The two jumped back and went right back at it.
"I'm done with this shit!" X yelled as he shifted into Tank. The cyborg grabbed Raiden's HF Blade and threw the black cyborg right through the wall that had the metallic door. Raiden hit it with such force that the wall collapsed entirely, as it did, the alarms began to sound.
Kevin looked back as he heard a loud crash. X was standing in the hallway while Raiden was on the floor getting back to his feet.
"What in the hell?!" Kevin yelled as he realized who it was.
X looked over at the white and black cyborg, "YOU!" The large cyborg began to dash for the new enemy. He threw his fist out and landed a clean hit to Kevin's face, throwing him off of his feet. He then looked back and found Raiden charging for him. X grabbed his own blade and parried Raiden's slash with great force and ended in a strong punch to his abdomen. He was so bulky that he couldn't come back in time for a clean hit.
X then looked back over at Kevin, who was still on the ground. The black cyborg then shifted to Blaze and jumped up. As he brought his blade down, Kevin rolled out of the way and up to his feet. X quickly parried Kevin's counter attack and slashed, missing Kevin by centimeters. The white and black cyborg jumped back twice and readied himself, as X was still running for him.
"ENOUGH!" X yelled as he let out a fury of swings. "I'm DONE WITH YOU!"
X managed to land several hits on Kevin. The cyborg slashed at Kevin once. Kevin stopped immediately as he felt pain surge through his body. X then came back and slashed at Kevin once more. The cyborg stepped back as he nearly lost his balance and felt his abdomen. X then ended it with a final slash to the chest. Kevin then fell back in pain.
X lowered his blade and cleaned it off by swinging it to the side. Raiden got back up to his feet and saw X standing over the cyborg. The cyborg then crouched down as he scanned Kevin's body.
Boris spoke quickly, "Raiden, get out of there RIGHT NOW!"
Raiden shook his head, "No, I can take him."
Kevin then cut in, "He just killed the unknown cyborg and threw you through a security wall. I get what you're saying, but there's no way you can fight this guy."
Boris cut back in, "Raiden, leave now. A transport is on it's way right now."
The black cyborg got up to his feet and cracked his neck, "I think you guys forgot something." he smiled devilishly, "X!" He suddenly yelled, "You're missing one more." He said as he signaled to himself.
X looked back, stood up, and shifted into Tank smiling, "You're right, how could I miss you?" he chuckled, "I already got your friend, Kevin, now I need to get you."
Raiden shook his head, "He's no friend of mine."
X tilted his head, "Really? You expect me to believe that?" he paused, "This intel I just stole off of him says he was hired by Shunji to kill me, just like you. Don't try to hide it."
Raiden was shocked, "Are you guys hearing this?" He asked.
Boris spoke in awe, "Find out more"
Raiden continued, "What else does that intel say?"
X read through the intel he had stole from Kevin in his head, "Storm Industries… the PMC Shunji hired… you're part of it… right?"
Raiden then turned a bit, revealing the Maverick logo on his shoulder, "Does it look like I'm a Storm cyborg."
Boris then snapped, "Impossible!"
Kevin then cut in, "Shunji is allied with them?!"
Raiden shook his head, "This isn't good."
X then went wide eyed as he found a crucial piece of evidence, "Son of a bitch!" He said, "I'm sorry to tell you, but Shunji seems to have backstabbed you and your little PMC."
"What?" Raiden asked.
X nodded, "Storm Industries hired to eliminate both X and Raiden. Once both are done, plan to move forward for the removal of Maverick and Storm." he read, "This fucker is trying to created a PMC monopoly!"
Boris shook his head, "I knew it!"
X was shocked. He didn't have a hard time believing Shunji doing something like this, but was still shocked it happened. Shunji was doing the same thing to Maverick and Storm just as he was doing to him; using him and then eliminating him. Because of this, he felt something arise within him, the feeling of resentment.
"Listen" X said, "I'm trying to kill Shunji for this reason exactly. He made me, intended to use me, and now is trying to kill me. We have a common enemy now."
Raiden looked at X with caution, "What are you getting at?"
X then slowly began to walk towards Raiden. He sheathed his blade and shifted back to his normal form. Once he reached Raiden, he extended his hand, "Both of us can defeat Shunji. All we need to do is work together, and we'll stop him and hopefully Storm."
Kevin then spoke, "Storm has been somewhat of an issue lately. They're just like Desperado, only they don't want to steal brains and train an entire army."
Raiden looked at X's hand and thought hard about the decision he was facing. The cyborg thought in the past about the allies he made, one that hit his mind was his close ally Snake. Snake had done so much and helped Raiden with a lot.
"Hmm" Raiden said. He then extended his hand and shook X's, "You've got yourself a deal."
X nodded once, "Good, I have a feeling Shunji has got some tricks up his sleeve."
All of the sudden, an explosion was heard from behind them. The two ran out of the server room and looked down the hall. Multiple cyborg guards were sprinting towards the two.
Raiden looked up and saw the air vent was still usable, "Up here!" He said.
X looked up as well and shifted into Blaze. He jumped up and began to crawl after Raiden. Both of them were quick and they easily reached the outside of the base, right where X had cut through to get into the vent when he first arrived.
Raiden jumped out, followed by X. The two then began to run down the mountainside towards the city. A new partnership was formed and X knew that his mission would be completed a whole lot easier with some new allies by his side.
To Be Continued…
Crap! I'm sorry for the late posting guys. I was out of town on Saturday and wasn't able to finish until today. I'm really sorry for that and also for this chapter being so short. I wanted to make this one good, but I just couldn't with the time constraint (remember, I have another book i write that's much bigger than this one).
So, leave a review and tell me what you thought. As you can tell, I have some twists planned for this book in the future. I can't wait to implement them and surprise you all.
Anyway…
Until Next Time…
