Chapter 6:

'Okay now let me assess the situation,' the Doctor said, nervously, 'the Daleks took the TARDIS from where it landed on earth, but why bring Ianto here?'
'The human has knowledge of the Doctor and the TARDIS,' a Dalek screamed as it moved closer and the Doctor backed away. Hitting the extrapolator field the Doctor spun around and felt it, 'Oh I see, you brought him on board to open the TARDIS doors, which he did but before you could kill him and take your prize he activated the extrapolator. I'm impressed,' the Doctor turned and gave a thumbs up towards the TARDIS, 'nice job Ianto, I can take it from here.'

Inside the TARDIS Ianto was yelling at the screen, 'Doctor! You have to do something!' Ianto turned and kicked the console, which hurt but he didn't care, the Doctor couldn't here him and there was nothing he could... wait! 'Of course!' Ianto exclaimed, remember what Jack had told him once: 'If you ever find yourself in a hopeless situation, when there is literally no way out, call this number, don't put it on your phone, just memorise it'
'Whose number is it?' Gwen asked
'A friends, you've met her actually, Martha Jones'
'What can she do that we can't?' I asked
'I said it was her phone, I didn't say she still had it'

'Alright you got me now, I surrender, I'm your prisoner,' the Doctor, not sounding the least bit scared but determined, 'now let Ianto go, let the TARDIS take him back to his own time'
'We know what you have done Doctor,' the Dalek screamed back, 'you have taken that man from the moment before his death.' Ianto in the TARDIS knew it was true, but it still shook him to the core to here it, the 456 would have killed him if the Doctor hadn't intervened, and when the Doctor returned him that was what awaited him. He reached for the TARDIS' phone.

'Why would do you care then, he's no threat to you either way, let him die when he is meant to,' the Doctor pleaded, he didn't want Ianto to die in either time but if it was a choice then he would prefer him to die without ripping the universe apart via a masive paradox. 'The death of Ianto Jones here would cause a larger paradox than Joan of Arc surviving her execution,' the Dalek screamed back, 'then we will use new technologgies and convert that energy to pure time power'
'What!' the Doctor said, confused, 'what the Daleks need with time energy?' before they could answer the Doctor's phone went of again, 'sorry one moment, have to take this call. Hello? I'm sort of busy at the moment'
'Doctor its me!' Ianto almost yelled through the phone, glad he had got the right number after three tries
'Oh hello Ianto, are you alright in there? comfortable I hope because the Daleks aren't going to let you go anytime soon'
'Doctor I think I know what they are doing'
'Do you? Good because I don't' Ianto ignored him and kept talking
'Back at Torchwood we once had a space ship come into orbit, they seemed peaceful enough but then we noticed irregularities with the rift. Long story short Doctor they were siphoning the energy from the rift into a... a bomb Doctor, they were going to use it to wipe out an entire planet they were at war with.'

The Doctor had considered the posssibility but didn't think the Daleks would resort to such methods, 'so basically by keeping Joan alive through her execution, and by killing Ianto you're going to create paradox energy, clean it, and siphon it into a vessel and blow it up, am I correct?'
'With our paradox destroyer we will destroy the earth before the Humans colonate othe planetys, creating more paradox energy to power more destroyers, we will destory all worlds until nothing is left but those controlled by the Daleks,' the Dalek screamed
'The paradox destroyer is the Daleks new ultimate weapon,' screamed another
'And what about me? What are you going to do with me? If your going to kill you would have done it by now,' the Doctor paused, but Ianto thought it was more for dramatic effect than for thought, 'unless you're afraid, afraid I have something up my sleeve, because lets face it I always do.' The Daleks didn't answer but looked at him, slightly adjusting their eye stalks every few seconds and the Doctor knew he was right. 'But thats where you made a mistake,' the Doctor said, almost dancing to the edge of the extrapolator field, 'because just like you and your paradox destroyer, theres nothing I can't do with time.' The Doctor whizzed his sonic screwdriver at the force field which glimmered, grew stronger, and then expanded to include him.

'What have you done?' the Daleks screamed
'Expanded the extrapolator field, charged it with more power and increased its maximum output, now you can't shoot me and it'll take you about 1 more hour to breach it.' The Doctor grinned looking quite pleased with himself as he ran to the TARDIS doors and burst through. 'Doctor!' Ianto yelled, running over to hug him, but the Doctor stopped him and ran to the console quickly flicking switches. The screen showing the Daleks shut off. 'Sorry Ianto we don't have much time,' the Doctor explained as the TARDIS left the Dalek ship
'But i thought the shield would hold for another hour?' Ianto asked
'Yeah, maybe a small lie there, more around ten minutes, but we're out of there now so no need to worry'
'Well we may be out of immediate danger but the Daleks are still going to blow up the earth'
'Don't worry,' the Doctor said in a tone that only made Ianto worry more

'I've got a plan.'
