Hiya, this is a bit of a nasty filler chapter sorry but things get better I promise just stick with it, only 3 chapters to go now. Let me know what you think, thank you.

Karma woke up in the middle of the night, her face still damp from the tears. Her sleep had been intermittent and not at all restful, stuck to the side of her face was her phone, she peeled it off and walked over to the mirror.

She looked at her reflection and saw the makeup stains that had dragged themselves across her face like tyre marks. Karma tugged at the t-shirt she was wearing and realised that it was Amy's, she lifted up the fabric to her face and inhaled the scent which reminded her faintly of Amy and she wished she was burying her face in the crook of her neck instead. Amy made her feel safe and now she wasn't here and she felt weirdly vulnerable, but she didn't deserve her. How could she have let Liam do that, she wanted Amy back.

She glanced down at her phone and saw the picture of her and Amy, they had taken a couple of days before. She couldn't believe Lauren had done this to her and Amy, Karma vowed to make her pay and nearly marched herself out of the door until she remembered the time. She collapsed back on the bed and unlocked her screen to her and Amy once again only to have her face splashed out of focus when another of her tears landed on the screen. But when she wiped it the photo closed and she saw the message again.

Hey, so sorry about this morning I really miss you already.

She really wanted to reply but something was stopping her, Karma could hardly bring her fingers close to the keypad without feeling the guilt about what had happened earlier wash over her once again.

The sun poked through the curtains like a nosey housewife and Karma felt much less affectionate towards the light when instead of highlighting Amy's presence it highlighted her absence. She felt like there were no tears left as her eyes were red and swollen, she walked over to the sink and splashed her face before changing into shorts and Amy's oversized jumper. It was warm in the Texas sun but Karma needed the comfort, she walked back over to the mirror and patted some foundation on to try and mask her pale complexion. Karma grabbed the door handle and yanked it open ready to confront Lauren about what she'd done.

Amy hadn't got much sleep at all, instead she had been incessantly checking her phone waiting and hoping for a reply from Karma but to no avail. Her phone lay empty with just the photo of them as the background, she turned it on and off in a desperate hope that like many things she could fix the situation by turning something on and off. It'll be fine she's probably asleep, Amy repeated it in her head but all she could think of was the kiss she saw between Liam and Karma, Karma told her it was a mistake but what if she'd lied just to save Amy's feelings? Now both of them were alone at the camp together and Amy wasn't there, why would Karma want to even check her phone when she was probably in Liam's arms?

Amy rolled out of her bed and onto her computer to try and distract herself, she would watch some TV or a movie. She couldn't even bare seeing those people who called themselves her family after they had taken her away from one of the best experiences of her life.

After watching an entire series of a programme Amy was still none the wiser about she concluded that being distracted was just an unattainable hope at the moment. She thought about texting Shane to ask him what was going on but they were all probably laughing at her and she didn't want to look even more stupid or desperate to them.

Back at the camp Karma had reached Lauren's cabin and took a deep breath before almost knocking the door down with her clenched fists. A groggy Lisbeth appeared behind the door and Karma pushed past her without mentioning a word. She looked frantically around the room at all the beds but there was no sign of Lauren.

"Where is she?"

"Where's who?" Lisbeth replied in a tone that showed her willingness to protect Lauren.

"You know who I'm talking about."

"I can't tell you."

Karma stormed up to Lisbeth and snarled in her face causing the other girl to drop her façade of innocence and whimper in reply.

"She's, she's with Liam."

This only led the fury in Karma's body to grow, if she'd have been in a cartoon steam would've been pouring out of her ears. Karma turned on her heels and marched towards the boys' cabin, when she reached the cabin she didn't even try knocking. She turned the handle with such force that it nearly came off and pushed the door so hard that it left a dent in the wall. The first thing she saw was Liam in bed with Lauren, there was no sign of Shane but the image of them both sleeping brought the sudden formation of a headache within Karma's brain. Her vision was clouded as she fell backwards against the wall, she'd felt used and taken advantage of after the previous day. She felt dirty and so sorry for Amy that Lauren had to be such a dirty hypocrite. By this time the two bodies began to stir with Lauren being the first to wake.

"What do you want Ashcroft?" the words dripped off her tongue.

"What do you mean what do I want?" Karma stormed over to the bed and pushed Lauren back into the headboard, "You've got Amy, your sister and my girlfriend taken away for doing nothing wrong and now you ask me what's wrong."

Lauren interrupted, not too keen to lose the battle of words about to commence. "You mean step-sister"

"I don't think you even deserve to call her that after the way you have treated her."

Karma pulled her phone out from her pocket and took a picture of the two together in the bed. "Everyone will see this and know what a nasty arrogant hypocrite you are, you do not deserve to have such a nice girl in your life at all, you bitch."

At this point Liam heard the voices and rose from his slumber leaning over to kiss Lauren without opening his eyes. He felt Lauren pull away and opened his eyes to try and plead with her when he turned around and saw Karma ashen faced and leant over Lauren almost foaming at the mouth.

Karma looked even more angry and turned to Liam before he had chance to muster up the courage to make something of sense come out of his mouth prised open with shock.

"And you, I can't even believe I let you get close to me. I can say without doubt that you don't deserve me and if Amy or I never had to see you again it would be a day too soon, you fucking scumbag."

The tears were streaming down Karma's face as she walked numbly back to her cabin, she was alone and she really felt it now. She pulled out her phone and vowed to text Amy, she needed to know she was thinking about her even if it was just for the moment that she glanced at the message.

I need to see you, I haven't stopped crying since you left and I want you back here beside me. I'm not in your arms and I don't feel safe anymore. I really miss you already, I'm not ready to say goodbye.

Karma thought about deleting it once more, she didn't want to seem hopeless or desperate but she needed Amy to know she was still thinking about her like she'd never gone out of her mind since she'd gone out of the door.

Amy was staring blankly at the ceiling and had reduced the times she checked her phone to twice a minute. She couldn't even bring herself to change or to go into her suitcase and pull out all the stuff that would remind her more of camp. A familiar ding came from her phone and she grasped it as quickly as possible almost falling out of her bed in the process and opened the message only to see a text from the woman who she was supposed to call her Mother.

We are going out tomorrow. I'm assuming you want to stay at home and think about what you've done.

Amy threw the phone at the floor and another tear slipped down her face, her Mother could see no wrong in what she had done to Amy but it was tearing her apart inside. Did it really take that much to just accept her daughter as she was.

Karma still hadn't sent the message, she was staring at it blankly, seemingly unable to press the send button and she didn't know why but she told herself to stop being such a coward, closed her eyes and clicked send.

Amy heard a ding again but felt reluctant to touch her phone after the burning sensation it had caused in her hands when she touched it again. After five minutes of debating whether or not to reach over and pick up the object she grasped over to her bedside table and swept it onto the bed.

1 new message Karma Ashcroft

Amy's heart jumped as she read the message. It was a wakeup call to her to stop being so pathetic and do something about the situation. It was hardly going to get any better if she left it, filled with new found determination she leapt back into the chair at her desk and began to do some hard thinking about how she could get back to Karma.
