Author's note:
Hello, fellow humans (and other assorted beings). I can't say enough how sorry I am that I haven't updated in so long!
Well anymahoozy, enough talk. Here it is, enjoy!
Chapter 7
She awoke the next morning, the light shining through her thin curtains and onto her face. She groaned and rolled over onto her side to face away from the blinding light, hoping to catch a few more precious minutes of sleep, but to no avail.
"GAZ!" Dib screamed, pounding his fist on her door.. "GAZ GET UP! WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!"
Gaz growled and momentarily considered tearing her door open and sending her security after him, but the thought was dismissed. Had she been more awake, had her mind not been clouded and groggy with torpor, perhaps she would have done it. But alas, she found that she could not think clearly, and thus the thought was cast aside.
She arose, changing from her night attire to a suitable outfit for the day ahead. Her eyes slowly drifted to the journal that sat atop her nightstand. She retrieved the violet book, flipping through the pages until she got to the entry that she had left off on.
Entry #26
So, I have yet ANOTHER ingenious plan. I shall build a suit, one that resembles this "Iron Man's" suit. However, mine shall be very much better. It shall be equipped with the latest Irken technology, something that this "Stark" can never even hope to achieve. The Tallest will be so pleased. Everything that belongs to Earth will belong to TheTallest, save the moon; I have already promised that to Gir. Once again, I am SO relieved that I'm not a defect! That would be shameful… I'm SO glad I'm not defective.
The Tallest are calling me, I must go now. Until my next entry, farewell.
Gaz looked at the clock. It was about time to leave. She grabbed her backpack and stuffed the journal into it, noticing the box-baby thing had an orange face. She pulled it out and rocked it for a few moments, earning a green face from the contraption. She stuffed it back into the pack, looking around the room. If she was going to read the journal at skool, she would need to hide it, and hide it well. She snatched a random book from her shelf (It, by Stephen King which she had received from her father on her 5th birthday) and shoved it into the backpack as well. And with that, she turned and left the room.
When she got downstairs, she grabbed a piece of toast, (pre-made by Dib, he wanted to stay on her good side) and shuffled out the door. It was evident that Dib had left without her, so she walked alone, munching on the toast as she went. She finished it shortly after she left the house and upon passing Zim's house, she noticed the door opening. Zim stepped out, slamming the door behind him. He glared at the ground, trudging along the sidewalk. He didn't even notice Gaz until he was right beside her And even then, she had to say something for him to notice her presence.
"What's up with you?" she asked, trying her best to sound disinterested.
"Nothing." he growled, his eyes glowing a deep blood red behind his contacts. She stared at him for a moment, taking in his image. He was wearing a red-violet jacket with the Irken Invader symbol on the shoulder, and a pair of baggy jeans. On his feet was a pair of sneakers, and his hands surprisingly only had black fingerless gloves covering them. His red-violet backpack slung over his shoulder.
She noted that by the way he respond, everything she said was gonna go into one… ear? Antenna? And out the other. He probably didn't even realize that he was talking to HER. She shrugged, pretending to not care. She glanced at him again, his facial expression had changed from angry, to worried, and he appeared to be deep in thought. She decided to attempt to speak to him, walking side by side in silence was becoming somewhat annoying.
"You seem angry." she said in a monotone voice trying to get him talking.
He glanced up at her. "It's nothing." he said through gritted teeth.
She glared at him. This was going to be a long walk.
Upon arriving at skool, Gaz went straight to her locker. She reached into her backpack, taking out anything she would need for the day. She then grasped the journal, pulling it out and hiding it inside the book which she had plucked from her shelf randomly, only now noticing that it was the famous book "It", by Stephen King. The very last thing she needed was for Zim to see her with the journal. And with that, she began to read. She noted that the words were smudged, as if something had dripped onto the page.
Entry # 27
As I said in my last entry, the Tallest called. It was not a message I enjoyed. It turns out that I AM defective. I do not know what to do now. I suppose there is no point to destroying the earth now. Perhaps I will let the Dib capture me now, it doesn't matter anymore. I feel so ashamed. They informed me that they gave me this "secret mission" just to get rid of me, to banish me… they said that a great feast was held as soon as I left, to celebrate my leaving. They told me that I was to die here, and that I was forbidden to return. Perhaps the Gaz-human will speak with me now. I have nothing to lose, if she kills me that would be a simple act of kindness, possibly the ONLY act of kindness I will ever receive from her.
I must go. Gir is screaming about how tacos are going to kill him.
Until my next entry…
She stopped for a moment and read it again. He was a defect? His life didn't matter to his Tallest? The leaders that he had so much respect and loyalty for? She felt a small percentage of her heart break, only now realizing why the words were smudged.
Gaz had the sudden impulse to run to Zim and squeeze him to death in a comforting hug, but she quickly dismissed the thought, mentally slapping herself for even considering something so stupid.
She was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of Dib suddenly crying out in pain. She looked over curiously, immediately noticing the reason for her brothers sudden yelp.
Before her, her brother was slammed against a locker, glaring at the person responsible.
None other than Zim.
"Where. Is. It." he snarled, his eyes glowing a deep blood red behind his blue contacts.
"I don't know what your talking about." Dib growled back, balling his fists in preparation for the inevitable battle.
Zim responded to this by delivering a swift right hook to Dib's ribs.
"Where. Is. It." he repeated, his voice dangerously low.
Dib growled, his fist traveling through the air in an attempt to cause the alien extreme pain, but it did not reach it's target. He blinked, his fist was stopped by Zim's hand, the alien's claws dug into the boy's skin, causing his blood to surface and drip to the floor.
Dib gasped in pain, attempting to pull his hand away, but to no avail. Zim only dug his claws further into Dib's skin, which was now stained red.
"WHERE. IS. IT." Zim demanded again, his eyes burning so brightly that if anyone looked they would see his true eyes through his contacts, though it was obvious he did not care.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Dib pleaded, still attempting to free his hand, but Zim's grip was far too strong. "I swear I don't know!" He grasped his wrist, falling to the floor and trying desperately to get away.
Gaz stared. She had never seen Zim this angry, or this violent. His voice was so low it made her blood run cold, and she wasn't even the one being threatened. She knew exactly what he was looking for. She sighed, knowing that she couldn't let her brother take the fall for this one.
"I don't think he has whatever you're looking for, Zim." she tried, taking a few steps forward.
Zim's gaze never left the cowering boy, but he regarded Gaz with a slight shake of his head.
"This pathetic human knows what he has taken from me, and I'm afraid I must insist that he return it to me. Now." Zim growled, his claws digging deeper into Dib's flesh, causing the boy to whimper and attempt to wrench his hand free, though he knew it was of no use.
"Zim, he doesn't have it. Look at him. If he had whatever it is you want he would be using it against you right now. Let him go." Gaz said in a monotone voice. She watched as his blood-red eyes slowly dimmed behind his contacts, and he released Dib's bloodied hand. The young boy scrambled to get up off the floor, and hurried away, taking advantage of the distraction.
He turned to Gaz, not paying attention to Dib's shouts of "This isn't over, alien!" and "I'll get you for this!"
With a curt nod and a glance in his enemy's direction, he turned and left, heading to class.
Author's Note: Welp, there's that. Again, I'm SUPER sorry I haven't updated. I bet you all thought I had given up on it. Forgotten it. Well, think again! I'm back and I'm going to attempt to continue this story! However, I cannot promise anything. It may be completed, then again… it may
