Chapter 7

It was 12:00 in the afternoon and Melanie and Caroline had spent the day together not talking about what happened when Melanie decided she should go. Caroline only objected a little before letting her go. Melanie took a shower at Caroline's then got dressed into some ripped faded skinny jeans and a white t-shirt with a leather half-jacket. Caroline insisted on straightening her hair so Mel let her. It actually looked really cute. Melanie left awhile after and went to her house after texting Bonnie seeing if she was home or not, which she wasn't. It seemed as though she ended up staying home by herself most of the time anyways.

She pulled up and grabbed her stuff then walked in putting it away. She sighed leaning on the kitchen counter, thinking about everything. As much as she's happy her friend was a witch she didn't like the things she was finding out with it. Like Caroline's mysteriously burning and supernatural healing fuck buddy and the strong weird feeling she gets around him or Stefan. She didn't like the fact that she was still mad at Elena but wanted to call her right now and ask her what she thought about it. She sighed and figured she'd try to get some more answers about herself. She went back up to the attic and looked at the 3 big untouched boxes and started opening them. She cut opened the first and saw it was filled to the brim with books. Tons and tons of books. She sighed slumping. "This, is gonna take awhile…" She muttered to herself.

Melanie put on some music since she hated the silence and played some Paramore. She bobbed her head to 'Misery Business' singing along as she went through the first box. She skimmed through all of the books that were clearly from her mother's study, and found only books on how the Yukara's were 'special' and go way way back to the freakin' 1400s and were a secretive type of weird 'clan' or 'cult' or something she couldn't remember but it was always cryptic. Like it was a secret or like each book was hiding something. Like it told you who the Yukara's were, but not really. Melanie was determined to find out though. She reached the bottom of the box when she found a really thick dusty leather book. She blew dust off the cover and saw the word 'BEASTIARY' written in a creepy font. "Beastiary? What the hell kind of name is that?" She said to herself opening it. She looked at the table of contents and saw all these names of mythical supernatural creatures but the whole book was in a different language. Japanese. Which she knew well and easily translated seeing as she was half Japanese half-Latino. She went down the list randomly naming all the creatures getting more and more interested, "Druids, Vampires, Werewolves, witches, Hybrids, Oni, Kanima, Shapshifters, Banshees, Reapers, Purgatory, Croats, Kitsune, Nogitsune, Hellhounds, Fairies- What in the world is this?!" Melanie yelled flipping through the book frantically finding highlights all over the pages and notes saying cryptic things like, 'Dangerous' 'Don't get too close' 'Burn in sunlight without magic ring' 'Takes over human Body' or even weird things like 'Has purple tongue' She shook her head and slammed the book closed. She closed her eyes and took a breath. She looked on the back seeing nothing then skimmed through trying to find an author or something but nothing came up but the very last page as ripped out. She furrowed her brows wandering what it could have been. She sighed then figured some other book could help clear things up. She looked down at all the other books and started going through them again seeing that everything else was in Japanese.

Melanie frowned then shook her head. She heard her house phone ring and jumped in surprise. She let out a breath then quickly grabbed the leather book and put everything back where she found it. She ran down the steps, book in hand, and rushed to answer the phone, "Hah-hah-hah, Hello?" She answered breathing heavily into the phone. "Not gonna ask. Hey look how fast can you get down here?" Jeremy whispered frantically sounding as if he was moving around. "Fast. Why? Whats wrong Jer?" She asked already worried. She ran upstairs with the house phone and started putting on her boots. "It's Vicki. I already called Matt but she's acting crazy. I think she's really messed up this time and I don't know what to do!" He said frantically sounding so scared for Vicki. "Okay, Okay Calm down Jer. She'll be fine. I'm on my way." She said then hung up. She hid her book in the fake fire place in her room across from her bed. She rushed and grabbed her keys then left the house in record time.

Meanwhile, Elena now knows the truth and Stefan took her to his and Damon's old home and told her the story of how him and Damon had been the best of friends and how Katherine Peirce had controlled their feelings and made them keep secrets from each other and go against each other. Meanwhile, Damon had taken Vicki Donovan to the boarding house and partied with her before deciding to kill her then he let her go while she was still in transition. She stumbled all the way to Jeremy and Elena's house.

Melanie walked in without knocking and went up to Jeremy giving him a hug. "Where is she?" She asked seriously. "In here." He said leading her to the kitchen. She sighed seeing the hot mess that is Vicki Donovan sitting on the floor in the door way of the kitchen with messed up hair and big dark shades over her eyes even though she was inside. "Great…" Melanie muttered under her breath. The heard a knock and Jeremy went to go get it, "That's Matt!" He opened the door and it was Matt. He led him to the Kitchen as well. "Mel? You're here too?" Matt asked looking at her confused Mel nodded," Yeah but I think we have bigger and better questions to be asking…" She trailed off looking to Vicki. He nodded and tried to talk some sense into her not succeeding at all. She spazzed out, "Just turn it off!" She yelled getting up and storming away. "Turn what off?" Jeremy asked her. "The voices! Just shut up!" She yelled back going into the living room seeing the Tv on low. Her eyes widened seeing the news was on. "There was a fire last night and three bodies turned up. Locals are saying it was a bad drug deal gone wrong." Logan Fells said in his weird reporter voice.

"Hey, we were there last night." Jeremy stated looking to Vicki. "What happened after I left Vick?" He asked with disbelief on his face. Vicki didn't say anything, "I'm calling the police." Melanie said going to the phone. "NO!" Vicki yelled grabbing her arm. "Hey! Let go!" Melanie said trying to yank her arm away. 'Damn she's strong.' Mel thought off handedly. Jeremy grabbed Vicki, "Vicki just stop it. Calm down." He said caringly trying to get through to her. "No! Just leave me alone!" She yelled pushing Jeremy sending him flying into the couch, he landed harshly. "Jer!" Mel yelled running up to him just as the side door opened and Elena and Stefan walked in.

"What the hell is wrong with you Vick?" Matt said angrily.

"What's going on?" Elena asked looking around her eyes lingering on Melanie and Vicki.

"It's Vicki she's acting crazy."Jeremy said getting up. Melanie nodded, "Yeah she just showed up here out of nowhere." She said helping out Jeremy.

Stefan walked up to Vicki with narrowed eyes and everyone watched him suspiciously, "Vicki? Vicki look at me." He said grabbing her chin to face him. "Focus. You're gonna be fine." He said looking her in the eyes. "Alright guys, take her upstairs and lay her down and close the blinds, she's gonna be fine." He ordered. Jeremy and Matt immediately did what he said seeing as they didn't know what to do.

Melanie looked at him with a brow lifted suspiciously, "And how exactly did you know what to do?" She asked looking at him expectantly.

Elena looked unsure and a bit shaken up as well, "I just have seen this before. Y'know. Too much drugs and all." He explained lamely in Melanie's opinion.

She nodded taking it anyways. Elena looked at her in question, "What are you doing here, Mel?" She asked curiously.

"Your brother called me all types of frantic about how Vicki was messed up on something and messing up the house." She answered plainly not liking talking or being around Stefan. Elena looked down sadly and nodded feeling sad that Jeremy was more open with Melanie than his own sister, "Oh." She said softly.

It was awkward for a moment before they heard a yell, "NO!" and Vicki ran downstairs. Melanie rushed to stop her from leaving h=in her drug induced mind, "Vicki, wait!" She yelled grabbing her wrist. Vicki growled then yelled, "Let me go!" Before pushing her roughly into the table next to the door making her fly into it and break the vase on top of it. "Melanie!" Jeremy and Elena yelled as she hit the floor and passed out from the force. Matt ran out the door after Vicki along with Jeremy after he took a long stare at Melanie. Elena ran up to Melanie and shook her trying to get her to wake up, "Melanie?" She sobbed out sniffling. She looked up trying to see where Stefan was but he was gripping the counter roughly and shaking. Elena set Melanie's bleeding head down gently on a pillow. "Stefan?" She asked wearily still scared of him. His breathing was uneven as he refused to face her. His face was vamped out completely without control. "Stefan, what is it?" Elena asked getting closer. "Blood. Her-her blood." He forced out through his fangs.

Elena gasped, "What? I thought you could control this?" She said accusingly backing away. "No-No Elena. I can!" He said turning to face her, big mistake. Elena gasped at the sight of his faced and backed up even farther, "Y-Your face…" She said scared. He took a deep breath to try and calm himself but settled on holding his breath seeing as breathing was making it worse. His face slowly went back to normal, "Elena…I-" He started but was cut off.

"We cant find Vicki!" Jeremy said coming back in, "Matt went to go look for her in his car. Mel!" He informed before rushing to Melanie and pulling her into the couch. Stefan whispered to Elena, "I can track her." Elena kept looking at her friend who was passed out, "Go." Stefan nodded and left quickly eager to get away from Melanie's blood.

When Stefan got outside he ran at supernatural speed to get away from Mel's blood. He felt as if it was suffocating him. It was the strongest blood he had ever smelt but it didn't make him want to kill her, strangely, or rip her head off. He didn't know what it was but he knew he shouldn't be around it for long or he would really lose it. He wasn't able to track Vicki until he was a whole mile away from Elena's house and Melanie's blood because it clouded his senses and it was intensely strong making him want to go back and suck her dry. He shook his head and caught onto Vicki's scent distracting his mind from the blood that threatened his years of restraint on human blood.

Melanie's P.O.V

I started to wake up seeing Elena sitting in front of me with her head in her hands and I heard rustling in the kitchen who I assumed was Jeremy. "Elena?" I croaked out my throat feeling dry.

"Melanie? How are you feeling? Are you okay?" She asked in a quick voice. Jeremy came over hearing I was awake and asked the same.

I nodded, "Guys, guys! I'm fine." I said with a reassuring smile. My head hurt a little and I remember cutting my arm too but I was fine for the most part. "Where's Vicki?" I asked looking around for the lunatic who pushed me. "Damn that bitch is strong…" I muttered grabbing my arm where I got cut expecting it to be wrapped like my head was but it wasn't and neither was the gash! Elena explained how she ran away and Stefan and Matt were looking for her, but I was focused staring at my right forearm.

"What's wrong Mel? Does your arm hurt?" Jeremy asked looking at me weird.

I shook my head dazed, "Um no… Did I have a cut on my arm?" I asked looking to them. They both looked to my arm then each other before shaking their heads no.

I furrowed my brows, "There was blood on your arm but I'm sure it was just from your head." Elena said softly. I nodded slowly, "Yeah…" I put that in the back of my mind then decided to lay back down. "I think I'll just sleep it off if that's okay?" I asked them seeing as it was their house. The both nodded, "Yeah you should, your head was pretty bad earlier I thought for sure you had a concussion or something. You should go get that checked out tomorrow." Jeremy said looking down at me with a worried face. I smiled and nodded, "Sure Jer."

I was only a little mad at Elena still but I realize she can't control who she falls in love with. I guess if she trusts Stefan so much and relies on him like she does then I should give him a chance. But there's not enough chances in the world for me to ever be civilized with Damon for even a second. I I decided to wait for her to apologize first. I ignored my childishness and went to sleep.

Running… I was running. Running fast. I looked around and I was in a graveyard forest. It was dark and the full moon was high. My breathing was erratic and I kept looking back constantly for a reason I'm not sure of and I was on the verge of screaming and crying. I didn't know what was happening. How did I get here? When did I leave Elena's house? Where is everyone? WHY am I here? The questions were endless but there was no answer except for the constant rustling in the trees and bushes the reminded me I was being followed and not by one but several people and should get out as soon as possible. I furrowed my brows and thought to myself, 'since when am I afraid of the unknown? Since when was I, a damsel in distress?' I fisted my hands and came to a stop planting my feet abruptly. I held my head high with my chin up bravely, turning around I saw a building. I looked around hearing and seeing nothing out of the ordinary, which made me nervous. I gulped and straightened up going towards it. It looked so familiar… "Where have I seen this before…?" I asked no one as I walked towards it. The feeling I got from it was dark. It was dangerous. It screamed death. It called for blood. But for some reason I wasn't afraid. I wasn't scared, like I should've been. I gulped and bravely put my hand against the grey brick wall. I closed my eyes and took a breath… I concentrated on the feeling I had and eased myself… It was quiet for a long all of a sudden, "AHHHHHHHH!" dozens of loud screams of agony and calls for help invaded my mind. They were in pain and dying but somehow already dead. I yelped and jumped back snatching my hand from the wall but the screams kept coming. I was shaking in fear by now and the screams and yells for help soon turned into murderous threats if I didn't help them. I let a tear fall from my eye before I started sprinting away as fast as I could. "This is just a dream… It's not real! WAKE UP!" I yelled to myself sobbing as I ran away from the building but the voices and rustling stayed on me as if I was still in front of it .'Help me!' 'Save me!' 'I'll kill you!' I shut my eyes tightly as I ran regretting being so damn curious and stupid. I shook my head then opened my eyes again but everything was gone.

I stopped running immediately. The forest was gone. The voices were gone. The rustling, gone. All I saw was darkness, nothingness. There was nothing around me but just darkness. I could see myself so I knew it wasn't dark because it was dark outside. It was just, dark. I tried to squint my eyes… nothing. "Hello?!" I called out as I walked around slowly. "Anyone out there!?"

There was a deep and loud threatening drawled out growl that vibrated through my whole body and threatened to tear me apart. I looked around and out of nowhere a pair of huge slanted glowing bright golden fiery orange-red eyes that literally had fire in the irises that moved violently through them with a sort of grace it had black pupils that were like black holes that sucked you in and the whites of it's eyes where the same type of black. I was lost and taken in by them before another growl reminded me that this was not a kind ghost-type-thing. This one was louder and it came closer to me I couldn't though. I couldn't run away but when it got too close I screamed and before I knew it…

I had jumped myself awake. I breathed loudly wheezing and whimpering and crying. I put my face in my hands and tried to calm down but ended up going to Elena's bathroom. I shut the door and locked it. I gripped the sink and looked into the mirror. I calmed my breathing and splashed cold water on my face and looked into the mirror. I saw I got the bandage on my head wet and sighed looking at it. There was blood seeped through from the obvious bad gash on my head. I reached up and peeled it off very slowly as to not hurt myself. It started to come off and for some reason it didn't sting like it should of. I furrowed my brows and took it off quickly and looked at my forehead with shock… Nothing. I touched my forehead where the gash was supposed to be but there was nothing. Just, skin. Healed skin. I must've been staring for such a long time when the door handle jiggled, "Melanie?" I heard Jeremy from outside.

I fumbled around quickly, dropping some things making a lot of noise. "Hey, Mel you okay?" He asked most likely hearing my struggle.

"I-I'm fine Jer. Just renewing my bandage!" I called back rummaging through their cabinets for a bandage to cover the magic disappearing gash.

"What's that noise?" He asked jiggling the handle once more.

I cursed when I dropped the new bandage and leaned in to pick it up only to hit my head on the sink, "Damnit!" I muttered. "Um, nothing Jer just a sec!" I called with a nervous chuckle. I put it on where it was supposed to be and fixed everything throwing away the old bandage. I opened the door and smiled at him big and suspiciously, "See? All fine." I said then ducked away from him and walked away without waiting for his response.

It was dark out and Elena had been sitting outside for basically all evening. I wanted to go out there with her but when I started to I heard her talking with Stefan and changed my mind. I waited patiently getting lost in my thoughts when I heard the door open then close then sobbing. I jumped up immediately and saw Elena slumped on the floor leaning on the door holding her head in her hands. I looked at her sadly and rushed over, conflict forgotten. I held her in a hug and le her cry on my shoulder no saying anything. "C'mon Elena." I said pulling her up carefully to take her up stairs. We got upstairs and I closed her door.

"Mel I-" She started but I cut her off shaking my head with a smile, "Elena. You're my sister and I care about you. So whatever your going to say, forget it. I'm over it. I just hate to see you all sobbed up over him so I'm staying with you tonight. No objections." I said firmly the smiled softly when silent tears fell down her eyes again. I walked over a hugged her and we both ended up asleep not long after.

I woke up at 6:00am and groaned rolling over seeing Elena was already up and in the bathroom talking with Jeremy about trying to get him to go to school and not go looking for Vicki, which I agreed with. "You know, your lips keep moving and I don't know why." I he said before walking away. I shook my head and got up deciding I should go as well and see how Caroline and Bonnie were, but only if Elena was okay first. "Hey Elena." I said popping up behind her brushing her teeth. She jumped and closed her eyes sighing. I grinned, "Thanks for almost making me choke Mel. Nothing like dying before I have my coffee." She joked. I laughed at her, "Don't be dramatic. Are you coming to school today?" I asked grabbing my bag. She thought for a moment before shaking her head, "Uh, no. I think I'll just stay here and…y'know." She said trailing off. I nodded, "Okay. Well I'll see ya later boo." I said giving her a hug and leaving. She nodded and stopped me as I opened the front door, "Oh and Mel?" I turned around, "Thank you. For last night." She said sincerely.

I smiled back and winked, "Anytime girl."

I walked into school all refreshed and newly clothed after stopping by Bonnie's for a better outfit. I went to my locker and saw Bonnie and Caroline there I walked up just in time to see Caroline give Bonnie a Halloween costume and it be a witched outfit. "Really?" Bonnie said looking at her. Caroline leaned against the locker, "C'mon can't we just have some fun? I just wanna party, have a good time, and have some fun. Some Damon-free fun." She said exasperatedly.

I giggled and walked up, "Sounds like a plan." I said grinning.

"Mellie!" Caroline chirped giving me a big hug. "Hey Care hows it going?" I asked parting then giving Bonnie a hug too.

"Better once you show up to the Halloween party." She said suggestively. I sighed, "Sorry no can do. I don't have a costume." I said with fake sadness.

Bonnie smirked shaking her head and I realized my mistake as Caroline smirked. "Hehehe! I was counting on that!" She said going back into her locker and handing me a bag similar to Bonnie's.

"Why?" I asked looking up at the roof groaning. I looked down into it and groaned once again, "Really Care?" I said looking at her pouting.

She smiled confidently, "Yes 'really', I'm serious. Don't be afraid to show off that hot body off yours Mel!" She said confident.

I sighed pulling it out to show Bonnie it was a sexy cop outfit. It had the cop hat and the button-up shirt with the golden badges and markings on it with the words 'Agent 69' on the right of my chest. It came with a baton stick and some really short, black short shorts and some black high heel pumps. It even came with a necklace badge! Bonnie laughed loudly, "Shut up Bonnie!" I said stuffing the costume back into my bag and snatching hers looking at the witches costume and giggling at the irony. Bonnie instantly pouted and I rolled my eyes.

"You'll thank me later." Caroline said smirking knowingly. I pulled out a necklace and lifted a brow at it curiously. "Doubt it." I grumbled.

Bonnie took it and looked at it closer, "Isn't this the necklace Damon gave you?" Bonnie asked and we both looked to Caroline.

She nodded, "Yup. Keep it, wear it, toss it I don't care. I just don't want to look at it anymore." Me and Bonnie exchanged glances before Caroline bounced up, "Where's Elena? Do we know what she's wearing?" She asked eagerly.

I looked at her crazy and aid, "She's at home." I said protecting her. Bonnie shrugged, "Most likely with Stefan."

I looked at her in question seeing as I just left Elena, but then again, it couldn't be too outlandish. Then Caroline slumped against the locker with a sour face, "Probably off riding into the sunset with his white horse…" She grumbled sarcastically.

I smirked, "Don't be jealous. It provokes wrinkles." She rolled her eyes and we all went off to class together.

It was finally dark out and me and Bonnie rode together to the Halloween Party at school tonight. I straightened my hair with a middle part and I was all dressed up in my sexy cop outfit and I added some dark sunglasses that cops usually wear as well. I looked sexy to say the least. Bonnie and Caroline were both witches and right now we were handing out candy to kids. Tyler walked up to us with drinks in hand, "Anyone up for some tequila shots?" He asked smirking holding the drinks out.

Me and Caroline grinned at him. "No way, last time I was hungover till thanksgiving." Bonnie said shaking her head.

Caroline giggled grabbing a shot, "Lightweight." She commented shooting a shot back.

I did the same grabbing Bonnie's and drinking that as well. "Whoa there tiger!" Tyler said laughing. "Oh please, I'll have you know I can handle my liquor very well." I said cockily with a smirk. He only lifted a brow before chuckling and walking away. "God, he's hot." I said shaking my head looking at his ass as he walked away.

Bonnie and Caroline gasped, Bonnie hit my shoulder playfully, "I thought you didn't like Tyler." She said smiling. Care nodded, "Yeah, what happened to, 'Omg! Like, he's so annoying I hate him!'" Caroline fake intimated me, very badly might I add. I glared and Bonnie joined in, "Yeah, and 'I just hate everything that comes out of that jocky big mouth of his!'" Bonnie mimicked and glared at her too. "Oh shut up, will you!? Geez!" I yelled pouting at them which made them laugh, "God, I said he was hot, not that I liked him or wanted to jump his bones so chill!" I said defending myself. Bonnie and Caroline exchanged disbelieving looks and I rolled my eyes, "Whatever! I'm getting another drink." I grumbled walking away to the wine coolers.

I grabbed one and saw Matt not too far from me looking stressed in his surgeon outfit. I frowned at him and walked up to him after shooting back another shot of Tequila I decided on instead of a wine cooler, and bringing one with me. "Um, what are you doing?" I asked putting a hand on my hip. He looked at me with furrowed brows, "Melanie? Wow, you look-" He started but I cut him off getting into my fake officer mode, "I didn't come over here for chit chat!" I said with with authority.

He looked at me for a minute before sighing, "Mel, I'm not in the mood for th-" I cut him off again.

"Shut your face and drink this here shot, boy!" I said in my fake old western voice. He looked at me and sighed with a chuckle, shaking his head he grabbed the shot and drank it throwing his head back. He made a face then put it on the table he was leaning on, "There. Happy?"

I grinned the grabbed his hand leading him to the dancing crowd, "Not until I see you dancing." I said going back to my normal voice and I started dancing around him to the pumped up music. He wasn't moving so I grabbed his hands and moved the around with me, "C'mon Matty! Dance with me!" I said over the music. He sighed again before letting loose and we started dancing together after awhile we both found somewhere and sat down.

"So why are ya so down Matty?" I asked sipping a wine cooler. "You do know there are adults here right?" He asked taking my drink and sipping it. I gave him a smirk before snatching it back, "You do know I don't care right? Now spill it."

"Well, earlier I found Vick and she was acting all weird then Stefan and Elena showed up and-" "Wait, Elena's here? With Stefan?" I asked confused why she didn't come and find me. "Well, yeah I just ran into the not too long ago, like I was saying they were looking for Vicki and Jeremy, and then Stefan said he was trying to 'help' her. I don't know this whole thing has just got me stressed. I have no idea what's going on.." He said sadly looking distressed I frowned and hugged him.

"It'll be okay Matt. Vicki is your older sister, I know she's wild and all but she can take care of herself. She has to. Otherwise, day in and day out, you'll be here sitting and worrying and she'll be out doing god knows what. I know you care about her Matt, and I know she's all you have, but you gotta let her grow up." I said looking him in the eyes.

He stared at me for a moment before slumping his shoulders, "Yeah… You're right Mel."

I smiled, "I know." I got up and stretched, "Now, I have a certain couple to chew out, so if you'll excuse me sir!" I chirped before walking away.

I walked around asking around seeing if people had seen Elena and I only got some points and shrugs before I ended up out back by the buses, "I hope there not doing what I think they're doing…" I muttered before opening the heavy door seeing Jeremy and Elena run up to it frantically, "Mel! Run!" Elena screamed at me. I took a step forwards "What?" I asked but my thoughts were short-lived because soon Elena and Jeremy were flying out of the way and Vicki popped up out of nowhere! She grabbed me roughly and attacked my neck savagely. I screamed bloody murder from the pain until she was yanked back slightly then stabbed with a wooden stake through the heart. I dropped to the floor in shock holding my neck in pain. I whimpered from my spot on the floor and Elena ran up to me in panic, "Oh my god! Mel! Are you okay!?" She yelled grabbing me as I slumped against her loosing blood fast. I looked up to see Stefan with a shocked face holding the stake he used to kill Vicki and Vicki's face, that was covered in veins, started to turn grey and even more veiny and tears of blood streamed from her eyes as she turned to Jeremy, who was screaming her name, before she fell to the floor dead and Jeremy looked at her in disbelief, he rushed to go to her but Stefan held him back. This whole situation was so fucked up…

I was crying by now and trying to get up, not out of sadness or fear, but confusion. Elena and I looked at Jeremy as he was breaking down, "Get him out of here!" she yelled to Stefan. He looked to her then back at me apologetically before leaving and taking out his phone. "Elena, what going on?" I said weakly. Elena just shook her head repeating how sorry she was over and over which made me sad. 'Elena…"

I heard footsteps approaching and looked up to see the Devil that is Damon Salvatore. He looked down at me the Vicki and tsk'ed, "Elena, you can leave I got it from here." He said plainly with that hint of cockiness and amusement that was forever in his voice.

"You… You did this!" Elena said before going to push him but he didn't budge, she then tried to punch him but he caught her hand, "None of this matters to me. None of it."

He said looking her in the eyes pushing her back slightly, "People die around you! It matters and you know it!" She said slapping him finally landing a hit, at which I silently cheered for her.

He growled and told her to leave because her wounds were bleeding, "I'm not leaving without Melanie." She said firmly.

Damon looked me in the eyes and my breath caught in my throat. "I said. I'll take care of it. Now go." He said getting angry.

"No." She said crouching next to me.

Damon sighed annoyed, "Well, I didn't want to have to do this but…"

He ripped her necklace off her neck and she gasped, "Damon, don't!" She said getting up quickly and moving back.

",you leave me no choice." He finished before looking her in the eyes, "Go, you told me to compel her to forget this ever happened. And take her home." He told her looking her in the eyes. I watched unable to do anything while lying on the ground. But to my surprise she nodded and Damon put the necklace back on her, "Good. Now run along." He said shoo'ing her. She left without another word.

"Elena? Elena! Come back! Don't leave me with him!" I called to her frantically but she kept going. My breathing quickened and I used the rest of my strength to scot back away from Damon and lean against one of the buses. He shook his head muttering something before turning to me and walking to me in a predatory way. I glared his way, "Stay away from me, Damon." I said looking him in the eye.

He smirked and got uncomfortably close to my face, "….." he didn't say anything just stared at me intensely and I shifted under his gaze. Every encounter I have with him, dream or not, never ends well so I was a bit jumpy. He grabbed my chin, suddenly getting serious, and got closer until I could feel his breath on my face. I gasped looking into his eyes, "What is it about you…. That just makes me want to…" He whispered, clearly not talking to me. I looked at him in question and before I knew it his lips were brushing against mine in a chaste kiss before he applied pressure. I knew this was bad, and I shouldn't- he shouldn't be doing this but… I leaned in and kissed back enjoying and sinfully embracing his darkness and ignoring my bad and horrible feelings I got around him. He pulled away and stared at me then shook his head breaking the moment. He looked me in the eyes and his pupils became bigger, "This never happened, you came outside and didn't find anyone out here, so you went back in and some kid sprayed you with fake blood." He said compelling me and suddenly... What he said, was all I knew…. He bit his wrist and fed me his blood and then he said, "That didn't happen either." He added as a somewhat afterthought. And suddenly as far as I knew it really didn't. I was all healed and better so I got up feeling brand new and went back inside the high school.

OOHHH! Damon kissed Melanie then compelled her to forget! What do you think that means? Does he like her? Or is Damon just being Damon? What is it about her blood that made Stefan lose control like that anyways? And Beastiary? Just what the hell is Melanie's family into? (I do not own the Beastiary idea by the way. ;P) Also! Here's to the longest story I've ever written! Lol Chapter 7! Enjoy!
