Something was wrong, Aya could sense it. Helix had gone silent, no longer swinging back and forth on her chain, no longer cackling with each threat she made, each menacing little comment. She simply hung limp, eyes wide in surprise as she turned to face the other girl, the maddening red swirl within her coal black eyes rapidly receding back to normal. The insanity had ended? But how? it had only been twenty minutes, there should have been another ten to go of her power, and most concerning was that Helix seemed completely sane after the experience. She usually suffered from her mania for a good hour after using her gift.

"What the hell is going on Helix? Why did you stop?"

The red headed girl's hands flew up to clutch at her head. This was wrong, her mind was completely clear, the insanity seeming to have disappeared, leaving her mind in a territory it had not been in for a long time. Complete and utter peace. She began to panic, it had been whilst looking into Caius' eyes through the mind of another, seeing him defenceless and vulnerable that had made her retreat so suddenly, made the voices screaming for bloodshed fall quiet. Why had they left her? It should have been nice to have her mind too herself once more, not having to share it with the multiple voices, urging her to use her strange gift to destroy everything around her and not having to rely upon Aya to save her from the ever present darkness of insanity. It felt strange to only have one personality within her head.

"I don't know! But they're coming Aya and I don't know what to do. I'm chained and I can't fight... Think of something!"

Aya began to think desperately, she'd never seen Helix so worried about the consequences of their actions before now, it was not the most encouraging of sights. But what could they do to save their asses now? If those two realised that Helix was completely sane, for the first time in three years, then they would probably kill them both, payment for mutinous behaviour that could not possibly have been anything other than of their own free will. However, if Helix pretended to still be under the impression of her gift, pretended to still be insane and made it convincing enough, then perhaps they could manipulate the situation to their own advantage, make the two vampires believe that in a fit of rage induced by finding herself in chains, Helix had lost control of her gift and her mind, hopefully then they would get away with a slightly severe punishment than death.

"Helix, listen to my plan and listen good... Otherwise, we're fucked"

Aro and Caius flitted through the corridors towards the furthest wing of the castle, the most enclosed section of the royal quarters where the two girls were being kept. It was an understatement to say that the two were angry, they were fuming. Aro was certain that, if it were possible, Caius would be spitting fire. Not that he was much better himself. Yes, he was pleased to see that the demon child also possessed a gift, just like his own precious little pet, but it was clear that his brother would need to teach her some discipline on how to use it.

The brothers stopped as they turned the final corner, the door that lead to where their captives were being held was only a few quick steps away. Yet, for a moment, they remained motionless as they listened carefully. There was laughter coming from within, distorted and unsettling in its sound, starting slowly as a giggle before becoming a full blown explosion of mania as a voice followed behind.

"We know you're there... Enter if you dare"

Aya's voice, melding with the continuous and deranged laughter of Helix, sounded nothing like Aro would have thought the girl capable of. She sounded sinister, like she knew too much and took the greatest of pleasures in the knowledge. Aro pushed the door open, his expression remaining livid as his mind reeled with what he saw within the room, taking a few steps in and waiting as Caius moved to his side, their gazes on their separate charges.

Aya was sat within the wingback armchair beside the coffee table, her legs neatly crossed as she sipped daintily at her tea, the occasional giggle passing her lips as she watched Helix swing back and forth on the chain that Caius had bound her with, eyes hawk like as they flickered between himself and the other girl, seeming to take great amusement from that moment as Helix began to chant a dirty little limerick too herself.

" There once was a woman named Jill,

Who swallowed an exploding pill,

They found her Vagina,

In north Carolina,

And her tits up a tree in Brazil"

Helix began cackling madly once more, clutching the empty tea cup in her hand as she began to swing with more force as Aya gave a gentle clearing of her throat to gain the demon's scattered attention. Her words were soft spoken, like she was speaking with a young child and, although Aro would never admit it out loud, it sent a strange chill up his spine at how creepy she seemed in that moment, what had happened to his little pet in the few hours since her capture? From hyperactive to spine chilling freak.

"Come now Helix, behave yourself when we have company to our little tea party"

Aya raised her tea cup in mock welcome as Helix began to swing more vigorously upon her chain, pulling her arm back as she screamed at the top of her voice, launching the cup with all her strength.

"YOU'RE LATE FOR TEA, YA BASTARDS!"

The cup shattered into fragments as it collided with Caius' face, His expression becoming murderous as he began to advance closer to the demon. He took in her features more closely in that moment, seeming to see for the first time the bloody red shading of her long hair, the Cheshire cat like grin that stretched across her face to reveal razor sharp teeth, those eyes that seemed to draw him in with how deep they seemed and that sumptuous hour glass figure, her hips and breasts beautifully rounded. A glorious looking young woman in his opinion, enchanting even in her clear insanity. Such a shame that she was born a demon, the pale tinge of her blue skin and the twisting black horns a clear reminder. He sneered as he came closer, only an arm's reach away from the swinging demon as she seemed intent on reaching him.

"Filth, learn your place before I beat you into it"

His threats were met only with more insanity, her eyes widening as the pupils dilated and her grin expanding to almost impossible width, a menacing chuckle breaking loose. And, for a split second, he felt a shudder may have run through him. Such madness, such beautiful madness.

Aro had taken his chance to move closer to Aya as the wolf seemed fascinated by the interaction between her best friend and the vampire. Something seemed different about Helix. Not vastly noticeable but to Aya, who prided herself on knowing the other completely, it was like a blinding light in the darkness. There was a strange gleam in her eyes, almost tender and warm. Thank god Helix was a good enough actor to keep up her performance.

"I'm curious, little pet, she seemed the sanest of you both only hours before. What could possibly induce such a change of personality?"

Aya flicked her eyes to the side, a vampire like him was not even worthy of her full attention, not when Helix seemed on the verge of a beating. She noted the raven black hair that hung to his shoulders, the ruby red eyes that stared at her as he analysed her in return, and the sharp features of his face. He was quite handsome for such a colossal prick. She slapped herself mentally, feeling a strange sensation running through her at the thought. She shouldn't be thinking such a thing about him of all people.

"She woke up hung upside down on a chain, got pissed off and lost control of her gift. Not to sound funny, but I think that anyone would be angry to wake up in that situation after being knocked out. It's just unfortunate that, when she uses her gift, she suffers from its effects for a period of time after... And seriously, cut the 'pet' crap, it's getting old"

So the girl had simply lost control of her gift and, therefore, her senses? Making it a high possibility that she had not known of her actions when she was committing them. What a strange gift to induce madness and to suffer from it yourself. He chuckled before looking back at Aya, noticing that she was paying him no attention, staring only at the demon. It irked him greatly, her attention should have been his and his alone, no matter how close the two girls were. He turned his gaze back towards Helix, just as she began chanting.

"Dead body, cold body, little pool of blood. Zombie body, angry body. Thud, thud, THUD"

Aya nearly choked on her laughter as, on the final shout of 'thud', Helix had built up the momentum needed to reach Caius fully, her hand rigid as she slapped him with all her might. She'd expected Helix to do something, but not quite that.

"Oh my... I think she likes you"

Aya's words fell on deaf ears as Caius gripped the demon's chain, pulling it clean from the ceiling before turning his eyes towards Aro, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of emotions. They shone with murderous intent, a promise that punishment would be brutal, yet at the same time glistened with an excitement that Aro had not seen for many years.

"I shall be keeping my new plaything Aro, but she stays in my chambers, away from the child of the moons influence"

Aro didn't miss the way that both girls seemed to go paler than before at Caius' hissed words, their eyes going wide in panic as Helix was dragged out of the room, Aya trying to reach her once more as Aro held her back and in place. So this was the best punishment, to separate the two friends? Not that he would keep them parted forever, they were too entertaining as a pair. They just required taming before they could be trusted. Plus, if he knew Caius as well as he thought and judging by how protective both girls seemed of each other, it may have been for the best if Aya didn't see Helix for a few days. She would not be in a pretty state after Caius had finished her punishment.

"You son of a bitch! get your hands off my demon!"

"Aya! Get this bitch Barbie off me!"

Aro gave an un-needed sigh before taking the wrist of his own little pet, forcing her from the room and towards his private study. Why did he get the impression that taming them may take longer than it did with normal people?
