Yusei walked along the hallways of Akiza's extensive home nervously, tip toeing from room to room quietly, checking for any signs of life.
Even though the Izinski's were nothing but nice to him, their panic still made him nervous. Maybe it was because he had a little crush on their daughter, and that made him feel a little intimidated whenever they were around.
Maybe it was the fact that he was completely nervous as to what he would find, noting the hysterics that Akiza's parents had called him in, begging for his help.
"It's happening again." Mrs Izinski had whispered. "We can't return home. You have to help, stop her. You're the only person who will listen to her when she's like this."
And so, Yusei flew over to their house, almost falling off his duel runner as he flew into their driveway, unlodging himself from the vehicle without eve turning it off, leaving the engine running as he barged his way through the front door. She was no-where to be seen, but Yusei knew she was around, the sharp pain and glow of his arm confirming it for him.
"Akiza!" he called out gently. "It's Yusei! Where are you?"
A cry echoed from down the hallway, followed by a sickening shatter of glass. Yusei had no time to think, spinning on the spot and running for the sound, realising that he was already much too late and damage was already done.
Opening the door, Yusei stepped back in shock, eyes widening as he took in all of what the image of Akiza's frail and broken body lying in the pile of shattered glass, blood running like rivers down her arms, petering off down each finger, collecting into droplets and falling off each fingernail into a puddle on the floor with a sickening echo that resonated throughout the whole room.
"Akiza!" he cried, shoving at the glass and dropping to his knees next to her. "Are you okay?"
"..No…" she moaned quietly, rolling her head back, and Yusei caught it before it collided with the harsh tiled flooring. "W...where am I?"
"In your bathroom." he muttered. "Don't move, there's glass everywhere. You're bleeding."
Yusei picked up Akiza's right arm gently, looking to locate the source of the puncture, cringing as he saw the reflection of shimmering light dance along the shard of glass lodged in her wrist.
"Akiza, there's glass in your arm. You have to go to the hospital." he whispered, placing her arm gently in her lap and using his other arm with as much force as he could muster without hurting her more to push the frail teenager into sitting position, using his now free hand to wipe the tears from her bloodshot, but still strikingly beautiful round brown eyes. She shook her head gently, trying to free herself from Yusei's iron grasp.
"Not again." she whispered. "They know me on a first name basis in there now."
"Akiza, did you just listen to what I just said!" Yusei cried, and she cringed. "There's glass in your arm!"
Looking down at her broken and battered body, Akiza's expression contorted as she realised what Yusei had meant, and what she had done to herself, yet again.
"ahh!" she cried, falling back into Yusei's grasp as the tears danced their way down her cheeks again. "How did this happen to me?"
"The Black Rose did this." he said, gently taking the Black Rose's rose from Akiza's hair and crushing it into the ground in bitter resentment. He looked all around for something he could use to stop the bleeding, and after coming up short, he gripped at his stomach and ripped at his singlet, cringing as the fabric from his favourite shirt unstitched with a loud rip, reminding himself that he can always get another shirt, but not another Akiza. He tied the fabric tightly around the shard in her arm, tying it just like he learnt to do in this situation during his first aid course.
"This should stop the bleeding, for now anyway." he said through clenched teeth, trying to figure out how he was going to get Akiza to the hospital when all he had was his duel runner.
"I'm sorry Yusei." she whispered, closing her eyes as he shook his head sadly, placing his arms under the small of her back and her knees and hoisting her up, carrying her bridal style out of the bathroom.
"Don't worry about it, Akiza." he cooed gently to her. "It's what I'm here for. Now let's get you to the hospital."
"I love you, Yusei." Akiza muttered, leaning into his body for support, right arm facing upwards in her lap, eyes still clenched tightly closed.
"I know." he said quietly. "I feel the same."
But, he thought to himself, closing his eyes and taking in the whole bitter situation for just one second. Before you think of anyone else, you need to think about yourself, and get the help you need. And this includes destroying the Black Rose, once and for all.
"You can do it, Akiza." Yusei said, leaning down and kissing Akiza's forehead gently, lips barely caressing the burgundy haired heroine's soft face. 'I believe in you."

Firingshootingstar: I can't imagine anyone not liking having Yusei's attention to be honest... haha
DancingQueen21: thank you again! I really appreciate your continued support. And I do see Martha as a very teasing person, in a caring way. She's so adorable.
Rashelle: thank you for reviewing!
