Coconut:What would be your character's perfect vacation destination? What does that say about them?
"Why can't we just stay here? We could spend two weeks in our bedroom, turn off the phones and ignore anybody who knocks at the door."
Skye rolls her eyes, shakes her head and continues flipping through the magazine in front of her. Her fiance was stubborn and annoying, and apparently very childish.
"I know Coulson said he'd pay for the honeymoon," Grant reasons, leaning across the couch to take the magazine from her hand, "But honestly can't he just pay for room service if we hole ourselves away in a hotel?"
"Grant. We are going on a proper honeymoon. We are going to do ridiculous tourist-like things in a country that neither of us have been on a holiday in, and we are going free-of-charge because I have the best Dad ever," she tells him, reaching for the magazine that he's holding over his head, "And you, Agent Ward, won't complain. And the more you complain, the less time I allow for staying holed up in the hotel room."
He has a smirk on his face that makes her want to agree, honestly she does. Skye doesn't like going outside, there were other people who gave her weird looks when she acted like a child – which was 100% of the time that she wasn't on a mission for SHIELD – so the idea of staying locked in a room with him for the entire two weeks of their honeymoon, much like their time in Canada last year, was so very appealing. But she wanted to go on a proper holiday where she did all of the cliché touristy things that she was supposed to do on a holiday. And if that's what she wanted to do on their honeymoon, she was going to do it.
"Coulson would be okay with just paying for a hotel room and room service."
"He would also shoot you with an ICER before I get on the flight, because Phil Coulson doesn't want to think about the things you and I would be doing in that hotel room," Skye reminded him, placing a hand on his shoulder as leverage to reach up for the magazine.
With it in her grasp again, Skye tugs on her reading-material and the momentum sends her back into a sitting position in her original place on the couch. The SHIELD agent in front of her frowns, eyebrows creased, as he contemplates her reasoning.
"We'll go hiking, and swimming somewhere," she suggests, "It'll be warm, so you can get up at stupid-o'clock to go for a run in the morning."
Grant's mouth is open to say something when Antoine Triplett enters the living area and stops at the sight.
"Arguing about the honeymoon again?" the other Specialist questions with a smile.
"It doesn't matter," Skye shrugs, "We can talk about it later when he's being less childish, if you want to go get the others to start the debriefing now."
"Debriefing can wait, you two need to decide on a honeymoon destination."
Skye lets out a breath, her eyes closing for a moment before she opens them again and looks at the man at the door way, "Agent Triplett."
"Yes Madame Deputy Director?" he smirks.
"Get the others. Debrief in twenty."
The man mock salutes, and ducks out of the doorway as a couch cushion is thrown in his direction.
"He has a point," Grant murmurs, pulling the magazine back from her hands again and dropping it on the coffee table as he moves her to rest against him, "We do need to make a decision about this."
"You're being difficult, if you'd just agree with me then we wouldn't have to argue about it."
"Skye, I just want to spend two weeks with you. Without all of this SHIELD crap, and stupid missions that never seem to end. I just want to pretend none of this exists, for two weeks."
The hacktivist nods slowly, closing her eyes and leaning back against his shoulder.
"We can do touristy things," he tells her, "But as long as it's just you and me, you could take me anywhere you want."
"Tahiti?"
"Except for Tahiti."
A giggle escapes her as she hears footsteps coming in their direction, the sounds of voices breaking her away from their moment and she lets out a sigh.
"Only four months to go," Skye smiles, looking up at him.
"Four months to go."
