Author's Note: Holy crap! It's been, what, 9 months since I last updated? I surprised how busy my senior year has been! Working on my art portfolio, trying to earn scholarships for college, my job, this year has been crazy! I'm also graduating in two months! I'm so excited! Anyway, back to the reality of fanfiction, here is chapter 7 for all those who have been waiting. Hope you like it

It has been awhile, so I would recommend rereading previous chapters if you don't remember what happened last time.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything besides any OC character mentioned in the story.

Chapter 7

Why?

Thud!

Why?

Thud!

"Why did this happen!?"

There was nothing left for me to do. My powers no longer engulfed inside me, only sadness and failure. My head began to spin. My only reaction was taking the pain out on myself for how blind I was. With my hands bounded behind my back and my mind trapped within the confide cell, I felt my own will being washed away in the cell drain.

I trembled backwards and slid along the back of the windowless cell until I was rested on the cold, cement floor. My head was distressed and my legs quivered with uncertainly. I felt so powerless and weak. I wanted to scream out and cry, but that wouldn't have solved anything.

Even though I was burning with anxiety, I kept thinking about him. His betrayal was something that kept jumping up in my memories. His goofy grin and his supportive nature made our friendship seem so real. Visionless, I walked right up to him and he gave me his hand, only to deceive me and drag me to hell.

"…I just can't stand seeing this evo's face."

My heart sank even further. I was confused and lost in a world that I can't seem to remember. The FC Corporation would be here any moment and Ray was gone. He disappeared within seconds of my capture and looked disgusted in himself for his action. I tried hoping that there was some friendship we had…it couldn't have been all fake.

"Pshh…kid."

My head slowly lifted from my knees and I noticed across the prison, another human like evo with his sweaty face, leaning against the metal bars. He looked like a normal human wearing an old, torn up green shirt and a pair of jeans. However half of his body was covered in muscular purple colored skin, with long talons that stretched from his hands that were tied behind his back.

He looked up and down the hall and tried to lean in toward me. "Do…do…you know what they are going to do with us?"

I watched him as his breathing increased rapidly and his eyes almost looked blood shot, "I'm sorry, I don't."

He began to chuckle all of a sudden like a deranged sociopath which made me jump out of my own skin, "They're going to turn us into monsters! We'll be even bigger freaks than we already are!"

He fell over onto the floor with nonstop laughter that echoed through the hallway. He continued mumbling the word "monster" repeatedly which continued to echo to the back of my mind. His fears turned him into a lunatic and his every motion seemed unnatural.

"Stop." I mumbled.

He gave a light chuckle and began taunting me, "monster…monster…monster…."

"I said stop!" I began to notice my voice beginning to rise as well as myself.

"Monster…monster…monster."

I finally lost it, "Shut your damn mouth or I'll shut it for you!"

"Oh? I guess some evos are closer to transforming than others." He snickered and wobbled over to the corner of his cell, disappearing into the shadows.

I fell over again and my head lied against concrete wall. I tried to ignore the evo across from me. I kept telling myself that he was making up stories. He was deranged! There was no way…no way that I'd become a full evo.

Time felt frozen within the prison. Sunlight didn't exist and my lack of energy I had made everything stop. The only thing that would be heard was the mumbling evo, continuing to taunt me as if he wanted to see a monster emerge. The experience was even more painful when my stomach began clawing inside me. I was so hungry, that food almost sounded disgusting and my mouth was almost as dry as the dirt that lay across the floor. My wound across my abdomen reopened after the evos that brought me here beat me. Blood smeared across the new shirt that Holiday gave me and new wounds showed up across my face.

I began to close my eyes, trying to ignore the pain. I began taking slow breaths and tuning out sociopath evo. My eyes slowly opened again when I began hearing footsteps coming down the middle of the prison. Three men dressed up in expensive tuxes and sunglasses appeared by my cell. The FC symbol stitched over their darkened hearts seemed to be the only thing my eyes were drawn to. One reached in for the evo across from me, dragging him by the collar of his shirt.

"Monster! You hear me! We're getting devoured by a beast only to become one!"

"Shut the hell up!" The man took his foot and drove it into the evo's rib cage. The evo fell over and began coughing up blood. The man snickered and continued to drag him by his collar until he disappeared around the corner.

I began going into a cold sweat when the cell door opened. The men carried no facial expression and they gave me the chills. I noticed his hand reaching out toward me and the first thing that came to mind was escape. Before he could seize me, I gave a quick kick to his face and bolted as fast as I could.

"The evo is escaping!"

I didn't know where I was going. I knew I was still is the building that Ray brought me to, but I had no idea where I was running to. I kept hearing the cold breath of escape motioning me to run as fast as I could. I didn't turn around; I knew the men were not far behind me. As I made my way through the twist and turns, I found myself outside in the pouring rain. Lights flashed upon me from large ships circling the sky and the storm continued to crackle behind the dark atmosphere.

I felt like a deer stuck in the headlights. I felt my limbs tense up and unwilling to move. I tried to free my arms from the strange cuffs behind my back, but it was no use. I felt powerless and my heart beat continued to pound against the confines of my chest.

A group of FC agents and soldiers in biohazard suits suddenly appeared from the landed aircraft. They pointed their tranquilizer guns at me and I knew that my plan had come to a halt.

"Wow, is it my birthday? I didn't expect a surprise party?" I was completely shocked by the sarcastic tone my voice released even though I was terrified. However, the small joke made me feel slightly better. I wanted to fight for my survival and it pushed my confidence far more than I had anticipated.

The soldiers raced toward me, preparing to strike. I knew I couldn't use my powers, but I still tried to fight them off. My legs took a stance and I charged at them as well. The first soldier fired his gun and I flew across my back on the pavement, dogging the small tranquilizer. As my body grew closer to the soldier, I released a kick right in his lower abdomen, causing him to collapse on the wet pavement.

I jumped back on my two legs and raced toward the others. The storm continued to pour down on the lighten stage. One solider suddenly appeared behind me and grabbed me by the cuffs that held my twisted arms. My head turned behind me then spun forward when I noticed another agent racing toward me. He lifted his gun up and began to fire at me. The adrenaline was racing through me and the excitement lifted me off my feet. Before I knew it, I flipped over the soldier that was standing behind me and watched as he became my shield. His partner's ammo penetrated his suit and I watched the agent that charged at me, letting down his guard. I quickly took advantage of this. I pushed the drugged soldier off of me and into the unnoticing agent.

I continued to run as fast as I could, trying to dodge all the mercenaries standing around. I eventually came across a wired fence, standing almost ten feet tall, blocking my path. I knew I couldn't climb it because of my arms sealed tightly behind me, so I continued to run alongside the fence to try and find an opening.

I noticed an opening appear from the shadows and I noticed my legs were pushing me to run faster. The gate began to close in front of me and I continued to run, never thinking about failure. I closed my eyes and tried to push myself to run faster. Time slowed down again around me and the muffled soldiers disappeared from my mind. My foot finally took one step outside the prison when I felt my body being pulled in the opposite direction. I tried to fight it, but they eventually caught me. I was pulled back until I could feel the pavement dragging into my skin.

Lying on the soaked ground, I noticed a rope like device hooked onto the strange cuffs that prevented me from using my powers. Before I could even blink, a sharp jolt of electricity ran through me and I let out a loud scream. The pain burned through me and I began to feel dizzy when the shock settled.

I struggled to stand, but I was quickly grabbed by two, large evos that grabbed ahold of me. They kicked behind my knees, causing me to collapse onto my knees. I could no longer stand, but I was stubborn and tried to move the aching muscles in my legs, but it was no use.

Drake walked around the corner of the building, his four piercing eyes that seemed to mock me as I laid there on the ground. He bent down and tilted his head, "Sorry Rex, but it isn't going to be that easy. I need the money and you need to go with them."

"Dang, I thought I set the difficulty level to easy. Oh well, you're still not a difficult boss to defeat if you know the right combos." I tried to make a joke during the worst time ever, but for some reason I couldn't help it.

Drake reached behind his back and grabbed a hold of the spikes growing from his spine. He torn it off and held it in his tightened his fist, preparing to strike when one of the FC agents grabbed his arm.

"What are you doing!?" Drake fought aggressively against the agent, trying to take a swing at my already scared up face.

"We can't have the boy dead."

"Besides, we have a contract," said another agent, "we pay you and we take the evo off your hands."

Drake let out a small growl and placed the spike back into his spine. He walked up to me and immediately spat in my face. I leaned my face close to my left soldier, trying to wipe off the spit from my face. His four, glowing eyes watched me as I was dragged away by two of the agents. He never turned his head away from me until he disappeared into the shadows of the building.

While I was being dragged into the airship, I noticed one of the agents handing Drake an envelope. They were mumbling something and eventually shook hands. Drake watched as the agent walked away and immediately opened the envelope. He began to laugh and walked away. I could barely hear him, but I did here something about money and success. I was disgusted with the situation. I was being sold like an animal and was shown no respect. I was looked down upon, even by the other evos who acted as if they were superior to me.

It wasn't long before my feet dragged across the interior of the ship. It wasn't a very large airship, but it was big enough to carry quite a few soldiers to and from a destination. The evos walked me over to the right side of the ship and detached the wiring that held my two hands together. They then took my arms, still concealed in the cuffs, and attached them to shackle looking devices that spread my arms from apart from each other. I tried to move my arms around, but they were stiff and extremely sore. The muscles in my forearm felt like they were going to collapse, but the shackles prevented any movement.

My abdomen still was sore from the open wound and my shirt was soaked with blood and dirt. I noticed soldiers that were coming on board watched me carefully as they seated themselves across from me. They were still armed and I knew that any chance of escape was very slim.

What made the situation even more displeasing was the fact that the soldiers dressed as if they were apart of Providence. Their weapons and biohazard suits were nearly identical and the aircraft they used looked like they had stolen it from Providence's base.

"Where did you get these materials? Your suit? This ship?" I asked one of the soldiers.

He chuckled as if I had made a laughable joke, "wouldn't you like to know?"

"I'm should of know. Based off your naïve answer, I should have assumed you are to stupid enough to know."

The soldier let a boorish growl. He walked over and kicked me in my abdomen, where my open wound lied. I began to cough up some blood. I wanted to scream from the agonizing pain, but it would only satisfy the soldier instead of me.

"You should watch your tongue evo!" He spat.

"Rex."

"What?"

"My name isn't evo…its Rex."

As an expected result, the hateful solider simply ignored my comment. He wasn't interested in the fact that I had human characteristics. Most likely, he was taught that evos are simply monsters, wanting destruction and blood.

Hours past and I eventually felt the aircraft lowering itself to the earth. I could still here the pouring rain, bouncing off the top of the ship. The rear door of the ship finally opened and a cool breeze blew in that felt like the only blessing I would receive in a while. The same solider that kicked me stood up and detached my arms from the shackle like device, only to tie the strange cuffs behind my back.

"Get moving!" He barked.

As much as I just wanted to collapse and sit down, I began to walk outside. The rain continued to pour and the storm continued to crackle behind the darkened clouds. I stopped walking for a moment and tried to take in the scenery. The mountains and the woods that surrounded the unique looking base was almost breathtaking, however the nefarious looking building that stood proudly in the center destroyed whatever beauty these woods had to offer.

Again, the soldier pushed me through the guarded entrance. I was completely in shock to see all the cages lined up on the inside. Screams and cries came from one side and the others were monstrous roars that echoed in the building. The lights were fairly dim and some flickered with an eerie environment. The base had the same bland, white coloring as Providence had, but the base, however, was a mess. Claw marks scraped across the side of the walls and wiring dangled from the ceiling. Cameras loomed in every shadow and every corner of the base and blood and excrement smeared across the paved flooring.

After traveling through different hallways and doors, I was standing in a dark and smoky room with an office desk toward the back of the room. A large office chair was spun around toward a window that looked over a large stadium, where evos were fighting toward the death.

I began shaking and my pours soaked my entire body. My heart pounded loudly in my chest and my fears were fogging my mind. The chair slowly spun around and a man, who looked to be in his forties, stood up and walked toward me.

"Hello Rex. It has been a while hasn't it? Two years I believe?"

My head naturally turned to its side in confusion, "I'm sorry, who are you?"

"Ah, I forgot. The reports I've read said you suffered from amnesia again. Oh, well that won't matter soon. Once your nanites take on its true affect, memories will be a thing of the past. "

"What hell are you talking about? Who are you?"

The man walked over closer to me with a grin that reached ear to ear, "I use to work as the head scientist for Providence before you came along. I dissected captured E.V.O.s on a molecular level for study, trying to help find a cure for the world. However, I was fired soon after you came. I realize now that finding a cure is almost pointless and isn't nearly as profitable. Instead, I use the same molecular study and amplify the evos, where they are auctioned off to warlords with the deepest pockets."

"Wha…" I was almost too speechless for words.

"Of course I have had a little assistance from Dr. Brandon Moses as well…"

"Damn it! Who are you!?"

"My name?" He chuckled quietly to himself as he walked slowly back to the window, "I am Dr. James Fell, the owner of the FC Corporation."

If you don't remember who Dr. Fell is, he was a scientist who use to work for Providence. He appeared in the episode Promises, Promises in season 1. I thought it would be interesting to add him to the story because he never made reappearance, even after the flashback episode.

Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter! Stay tune for chapter 8!
