Chapter 7: Ladydevimon Vs Santamon

Authors Note: Well good news is that Ladydevimon will still be...um well Ladydevimon. She isn't the one you find in the cards or T.V series completely fan made here. Want to use her? Go ahead. Enjoy the chapter!

The bright light stopped and I felt taller but a lot more powerful. With no time to spare, I needed to attack Santamon and free my friends. I felt like I remembered these attacks for a long time as I called out one.

"Dark Wind!" I flew…wait flew? I could fly! My wings flapped hard and a dark wind came out smacking the Christmas Digimon around. He grunted as he was distracted from keeping a grip on the others. This was a big mistake on his part as I saw out of the corner of my eye Beelzemon breaking free and destroying the wrap that was choking the rookies. While the Mega was escorting the others, I needed to buy them a few more moments of time.

That was going to be hard as Santamon got smart and started to jump after me. I flew into some of the rebar construction navigating through pipes and steel. For being taller, I was a lot faster! However, Santamon had other ideas as he just crashed through the bars-not even flinching! Crap! Bars flew past me, as I felt him catching up with me. I needed to change directions! I took a sharp left going through a maze of construction gear and flying down a floor where a tub of wet concrete was. I had an idea as I floated on top of the tub waiting for Santamon to come crashing after me. He growled and fell faster towards me. I waited for it..and at the last second I moved aside to see the robot smash into the concrete.

I grinned. He was going to have a hard time to get out of that one! I was about to shout to the others I did it, when the robot spouted out like a rocket covered in wet cement. I growling at him brandishing my fangs. He needs to quit while he's ahead. I flew out of the building.

"Yo toots, over here!" Beelzemon waved aiming his gun towards me-well hopefully behind me as Santamon was jumping around trying to keep the cement wet and moveable. I did a barrel roll and felt two bullets graze past me and into Santamon. I landed ungracefully into Beelzemon and groaned. That was something I needed to work on. Note to self: How to land gracefully.

I looked around to see the damage it had caused during our battle. Machines were smashed from when Santamon tried to grab me, turning once trucks into pieces of metal scrap flown all over the place. The building under construction was half obliterated with floors gone and metal rebar smashed into dents. Whoops, I did a little more damage than I intended to.

"Ladydevimon, champion level. Her special attack, Whip of Kindness will choke you out easily." Takato read out of his D-Ark and looked at me bewildered.

"Gft, euff, meh." Mumbled Beelzemon underneath me. I gasped and flew myself up right, apologizing. Terriermon snickered saying I should cut out the chocolate. I rolled my eyes.

"You okay?" Rika asked and I gave her a thumbs up.

"You Digivolved..." Henry looked at me with a dumbfounded expression. I nodded. I couldn't just let everyone get hurt and I was the only one who wasn't tangled in that stupid wrapping paper!

"Incredible."

"Takatomon, how could she Digivolve with no partner?"

"I was going to ask the same thing." Renamon appeared narrowing her ice blue eyes at me. I shrugged.

I decided to examine myself, now that no one was attacking me. I had a black tank top made of leather, and a matching skirt on with long, sleek, black boots. I touched my face and found that I was somewhat normal expect with the ears turned into long horns and my hair was now dark blue and down to my legs flowing freely. I had a mask on my face but my eyes were visible to everyone which was a blood red when I asked how I looked. My tail was still thin but it grew longer and had a metal tip on the end that I could poke someone's eye out. My whip which was attached to my side was a black thin piece of material which was almost metal like but felt sleek and smooth. My skin was also a dark blue color still-like my fur when I'm Impmon. My wings were the most impressive and what I loved the most. They were completely black like a bat's wing but with a few holes in them. I wasn't quite sure how they still worked but I could care less, I could fly!

"So…how do I change back?" I asked Beelzemon laughing a little uneasy. He grinned an evil smile-the kind I didn't like.

"Ya gunna need to loose enough energy to do that." He said leaving the area. I followed him.

"What? No, you're kiddin' right?" I asked towards the other Tamers. They shook their heads as a no. Something told me they were very familiar with this whole De-Digivolving process.

"Hey, I got an idea!" Takato said. The others looked like they knew what it was and sighed. Rika looked at me with almost...sympathetic eyes.

"What..." I asked and was told of the plan.

A half an hour passed and I hadn't changed a bit. Correction, I had blood rushing to my head. I wanted to go to sleep. It was about two in the morning Christmas morning and I was getting cranky. Doing headstands did not work and everyone except Takato knew it.

"It's not working!" I screamed once again falling down. Impmon laughed at me.

"This is what ya get for tryin' to Digivolve and not listening to me!" he snapped and crossed his arms.

"You're just jealous that I Digivolved sooner than you. Didn't you take like a million years?" I yelled. I was pissed and I wasn't going to keep it contained.

"You wanna go?" he asked putting up his hands into fists and giving a pissed off look. I got up and agreed.

"Oh boy, this ought to be good. Fight to the death!" Terriermon cried out but Henry shushed him.

"Whoa! Guys, wait!" Henry cried but it was too late. The battle between Impmon and I (Ladydevimon I guess I was now) had begun. It was not like I was going to kill the guy, just maybe tie him up with my whip and dunk him in water. Very cold water.

"Badaboom!" he cried throwing the small fireballs but I simply dodged them and grabbed him. Just as I was about to beat the stuffing out of him, I started to turn back into my old self. Oh now I go back to normal! Perfect! Thanks Digivolving God or whatever!

Since we were in mid air we started to fall and I started to scream. I fell first to the ground then Impmon and I groaned. He suddenly got up and put a foot on me and cried in victory. I felt my face pushed into the snow.

"I won. I'm the best!" he cried smiling. I growled, glaring daggers at the purple trouble maker.

"Just you wait until I'm human again Impmon!" I replied. At this point the others started to leave telling us to get home safe. I said "Merry Christmas" to them as they left.

The walk home was exhausting and I could barley walk. I felt my head pounding and my legs going numb. Battling Digimon does take a lot out of you I thought looking at the sky. I guess Impmon noticed I was several feet behind him and he picked me up, bridal style. I didn't dare say anything but let out a gasp.

"Shut up and say nothing about this ya hear me?" he mumbled. I kept quiet and blushed while closing my eyes. Tonight, I guess he kinda cared about me in his own little way. Still that didn't mean he could stand on top of me doing a victory dance! I fell asleep dreaming of flying with my wings into the winter sky. Some Christmas this was turning out to be...

I woke up to find Impmon curled up beside me snoring away peacefully. I saw that I was back to my normal human self. The sun was shining through the window and it felt too comfortable to get up out of the bed. I smiled at the little guy for his kindness and got up.

I went to take a shower and found Impmon still sleeping in my bed. He looked so peaceful and cute...Um okay, why can't I get this guy out of my head? Stupid hormones, stupid me for becoming a Digimon. I twisted my head away from him and tried to think positive. I should cheer up it's Christmas. I needed to wake everyone up to get them ready to go to my house after we opened presents.

"Hey Impy, wake up." I shook him lightly and he opened his eyes slightly.

"Hey, why are ya waking me up so early?" he asked stretching and getting off the bed with ease. I couldn't tell if he was trying to sneer at me or just asking because he kept yawing.

"It's Christmas day and your Tamers are waiting on the stairs for us." I replied walking out of the room while tying my messy blond hair up. I had neglected my bright, blonde hair the past few days and it was starting to get tangled easily. Tying it into a messy bun was the best I could manage and looked at the mirror for a second. I looked like I had an hour of sleep. Deep bags were starting to appear under my eyes. I wore a simple red sweater with skinny jeans. My expression was one between high strung and exhaustion. I could use a cup of coffee. Brushing that aside, I went forward and looked at the twins sitting on the stairs patiently.

"Present time?" Mako asked with a small hint of hope in his voice. I smiled and nodded. The two children screamed and ran downstairs getting their presents.

"Let's check our stockings first." I suggested to Impmon and his Tamers. They nodded and looked into their red sock like bags. I waited for Impmon to look in his and got my revenge for last night, as he blushed and threw the thing at me.

"Stop mocking me!" he yelled. I replied with a loud laugh and looked in my own. There were a couple of drawings from Ai and Mako, some chocolate, and to my surprise, some pencil crayons. I said thanks and the twins replied with another thanks because of my gifts. They looked so enthusiastic and joyful so far.

"Okay, how about Impmon goes first, then Mako then Ai then myself?" I suggested and they responded with an 'alright' and one grumbled 'whatever'.

Impmon opened his gift and saw the present I had gave him. The I-pod with Beelzemon cover. He looked at me and said thanks. I even saw a little twitch of a smile on his face. I could tell that he was experiencing the Christmas feeling. I saw Mako open his and rejoiced when he got some Digimon cards, same with Ai.

"Now, we can be a real help with Impmon." Ai cheered while Impmon smiled weakly and laughed. I remember Impmon telling me about the cards-how certain ones could help him do certain things. Takato also told me that using too much cards just hinders them and causes trouble. Maybe giving some kids the power to change Impmon was not the greatest idea...Nah! They'll be fine!

"Here you go Lindy!" Ai cried shoving a present in front of me. I opened it and smiled. It was a pair of goalie gloves with small biohazard symbols. For some odd reason, I loved those symbols. Impmon got a black jacket; Mako got a new video game while Ai got a makeup kit. Finally, I saw the one present that surprised me awhile ago. The small box with delicate red ribbon on it.

"Who is it from?" Mako asked. I read the tag.

"Who's Yamaki?" I asked looking up. Impmon stopped gorging into his chocolate and begin to think, putting a gloved finger on his lips.

"He's that creepy blonde dude who launched the Juggernaut program I think." He replied. "Why? Did he give ya that?"

"Yeah, he did." I opened it carefully and found a card taped to the box.

Dear Lindy Rose or I should say Impmon now.

You may be wondering a million questions but now is not the good time. I saw you become a Digimon and I grow curious as to how you are doing. So on December 26, I would like you to come down to the office on the corner of Ying and Yang streets. You can't miss it.

Also, Merry Christmas.

M. Yamaki

"Hmph! I ain't Impmon. I'm still Lindy." I muttered, crumpling up the paper and throwing it. Impmon incinerated it. "Who does this guy think he is? But if he has answers..."

"He sounds like a bad man." Mako chimed in. I laughed, ruffling his hair and saying that's how government agents work usually.

I opened the box and looked at the gift with a warm smile. It was a rabbit's foot which meant to be good luck. It was on a silver chain with some gold strands running off of it. It did look very beautiful.

I slipped it around my neck carefully and asked what everyone thought of it. Impmon shrugged along with Ai and Mako. I sighed and suggested breakfast ideas. I'll leave this 'Yamaki' guy until tomorrow. Mako wanted my pancakes, Ai wanted some eggs and Impmon wanted some beer. I gave him a look.

"You are one twisted Digimon." I said and he replied.

"Takes one to know one toots." In moments, we were running around the house cursing each other in English.

"If I could right now. I would turn into Ladydevimon and whip you to pieces!" I suddenly knew my mistake of what I just said and I looked at Mako and Ai who had their eyes wide.

"Wait…you Digivolved?" Ai asked. I sighed and replied with a small 'yea'.

"Is it safe to come out of the bathroom?" Impmon called. "Because I don't want to stay here until we go over to the kid's house!"

"What did you call me?!" I banged the door and he shut up.

"Impmon, you had something to do with this didn't you?" Ai cried running up to the bathroom door. Mako followed.

"I guess I did, but all I did was get stuck in some stinkin' wrapping paper and she had to go and save the day!"

"Stop blaming this at me." I replied putting my hands on my hips. "I didn't suddenly feel like Digivolving-wait, yea I kinda did but that's not the point! You needed my help. We got rid of that guy anyways, what's the big deal?"

"You do know that this is Christmas and we should be happy and stuff." Mako said tugging on my shirt. I sighed and replied with a sorry. Impmon did too as he crawled out of the bathroom unsure I was about to unleash some of my wrath on him. I refrained and focused on the fact that twins wanted a happy Christmas.

So, I explained the story to Mako and Ai who were listening carefully and smiled with I described the experience of Digivolving. It was like an adrenaline rush combined with a growth spurt. I felt so powerful and so alive when I changed it was sort of addicting. As well, I described the feeling of flying-I loved it so much. After the story, I started to prepare breakfast and we all ate like a family. Impmon decided to be good, as he complained how bad my cooking was. I suddenly realized that this was his way of being nice to me.

"Thanks Impy." I smirked as he blushed. "You know, if you keep on doing that you will stay like that forever."

In the next few hours we were walking to my home and I smiled when I came to it. It was not as nice as Ai and Mako's house but it was my home. The front porch was painted dark blue. It was a little messy with art pieces and my soccer stuff. The driveway was packed with a few cars and I assumed my family came to Japan for the Christmas season. The yard was covered in snow and ice so thankfully no one can see how dead our grass was. The neighbourhood was not the nicest, but it was better than the down town sector where robberies happened almost every night. I wouldn't say it was as nice as our home back in Canada, but I still loved how close everything was to it. There were some red and green Christmas lights on the roof, a Canadian flag, and a small Santa waving and in Japanese it was saying hello. Uneasy, the twins kept behind me and Impmon was in their arms. I gave them a smile for assurance everything was alright, however I was nervous as well.

"Home sweet home!" I chimed and opened the door, letting myself in to one of the most craziest nights ever.
