POV-Ahsoka Tano
I stared at Yoda in disbelief. Our code says we are forbidden to love, yet the force has bound us together within the force as if we're destined to fall in-love with one another. I cast a gaze towards Anakin in utter shock. He was in deep thought as was Obi wan. Yoda glanced at us all and began to chuckle to himself.
"Master Yoda, I don't see how this is a laughing matter," I stated.
"Apologise I do, but a deep connection between you and your master, been forged it has been. Sense I do, also have what is forbidden, you and your master do. Tied together in the force you are, stronger you both have become," Yoda said, finishing on a more serious note.
My heart dropped, and I began to panic. I couldn't lose Anakin, not now. My breathing became erratic and my eyes widened. I could feel Anakin's warmth snake around me as he pulled me close to him.
"Master Yoda-," Anakin began before Obi wan cut him off.
"Calm down, Anakin, Ahsoka," he said calmly putting his hands on both our shoulders, "Master Yoda?"
"Your attachment, continue with caution you must. Treading lightly, you should be."
Confusion filled my thoughts as Yoda chuckled again, bouncing out of the room in what seemed to be an amused and happy mood.
"We just got told off, right?" I asked no one in particular.
"He means you must be careful. The force has bound you together for a reason. To watch each-others backs and keep them from the temptation of the dark side. To do this you must have a deeper connection than just the force," Obi wan explained.
"And the rest of it?" Anakin asked
"The rest I am unsure about. I'm sure he'll reveal it all in good time. Go get some rest we'll debrief between us another time".
We said our good byes to Obi wan and began walking down the corridor with Rex.
"Everything okay?" Rex enquired softly, unsure if he should've said anything or not.
I simply just nodded at him and gave him the 'talk later' look as Mace Windu walked around.
We walked past and out of the living quarters and into the main corridor, away from prying eyes and ears of Jedi Masters and other Jedi. It wasn't uncommon for us to be coming out of Obi wans' quarters. I think Rex made Windu suspicious.
"Ahsoka and I are going to head to our rooms to rest, and don't worry about everything it's all under control. You are to tell no one about your little trip into the temple or anything connected to it okay, Rex that's an Order," Anakin said in his 'General Skywalker' tone of voice.
"Yes Sir, will you be at drill training tomorrow?"
"Sadly I have other matters to attend to but General Kenobi will be there".
We stopped momentarily in our tracks and said our goodbyes to Rex before he trotted off back to the garrison.
We walked for a while in silence. Few words were shared between us. I have two crystals one that is azure and the other, one I completely do not understand. We continued walking in the direction of the elevator just as Master Fisto rounded the corner, making a b-line towards us.
"Ahhh, there you are," he called to us in his usual laid-back voice, "Master Skywalker, Knight Tano, I was just about to come and find you".
"Greetings Master," I greeted politely, bowing my head slightly.
"How may we help you?" Anakin asked, smiling.
"I have news on your lightsabers, Ahsoka. We have found them".
My hearted flooded with joy but at the same time my stomach felt heavy.
I swallowed, freezing and batting my eyes, not believing or sure if I wanted them back in my possession or not.
Anakin stepped forward, grabbing my shoulder he replied to Master Fisto, "That's fantastic news, when can we go and get them?"
"Come, I'll take you to them"
We got in the elevator and dropped down a few floors. I wasn't sure how many, my mind was beginning to wander. I tuned out to what Anakin and Master Fisto were talking about. Something about finding them in the lower levels on sale by a black market vender. The other recovered by Fox and his team in the pipe district.
I stood in the frozen elevator, eyes wide and gaze directed to the crack between the door and the floor, before blindly following the two of them out.
All the memories started to come back as I continued to walk.
The constant running…Ahsoka, you need to come back with me…the heartache...we can sort this out…the fear of being caught…you're cloak please…
I continued to walk, hugging myself, staring at the back of Anakins' boots. My heart wrenching in my chest, my heartbeat increasing the more I immersed into the memories, tears, bubbling and trying to force themselves down my face.
My breathing quickened… just as it had when I was running…my pulse increasing… just as it had when I was…betrayed by the Jedi and the clones, my own friends and men, chasing me…hunted like a criminal…Ahsoka I do trust you…my world falling apart right before my eyes and everyone I have ever cared about…I'm asking you to trust me now…
Everything I knew, gone. The trust and friendships, hanging by a thread. I don't know who to trust.
The sound. The sound of my crystal was resounding in my ears as I looked around to see where I was. Anakin had his back to me, waiting for the door to be unlocked. I looked through the glass window. There they were. My old lightsabers.
We walked inside and I stopped dead in my tracks, my crystal from my back pocket still singing out to me as if to warn me, its' ringing got louder. And there they were. Not only my lightsabers but the two crimson blade hilts and Barriss'.
POV: Anakin Skywalker
We had reached the labs and were brought to an examination room. I looked over my shoulder and saw Ahsoka look through the window. She must have a lot going through her head, all her memory of that fateful day coming back. I wanted to hold her but alas I could not. I drew my attention back to the now unlocked door and walked inside.
Ahsoka followed in right behind me as I followed Master Fisto. I visually scanned the table and gulped and sure enough I could no longer hear Ahsoka's footsteps behind me.
I spun around and looked at her. She looked at the table before her eyes dove into mine like ice cold daggers. Nothing but fear encaged her eyes as she stared up at me, her bod frozen in my place. The sound of her crystal filled my head as I stared into her eyes.
Flashbacks of memory flooded my head as she stood there alarmed and traumatized.
I could see through her eyes everything that had happened over the course of her terrible ordeal. The running, the fear, the betrayal and the heartache as she watched and endured what most Jedi would never experience in their life. Her emotions a torrent of confusion, fear and love, every time she saw me continue to chase after her, I could physically feel everything she was feeling at that time. The adrenaline, muscles screaming out to be given a break, her heart breaking every time she had to rip her gaze away from me in order to escape. The betrayal of Barriss.
The flashbacks stopped as did the calling from her crystal. I stood there frozen in-place, watching her intently.
"Anakin…" she called barely above a whisper, her eyes rolling into the back of her head.
Reaching out to catch her limp form adrenaline shot through my veins as I instantly spun my head to look at Master Fisto.
"To the med-wing, go!" he ordered as I picked her body up.
"Please be okay, Ahsoka," I mumbled as I got into the elevator.
I glanced over her still body once before refocusing, watching the doors close and the lift begin to.
Apologises for it being over a year since I have updated. A lot has happened and I am finally feeling like my old self. May there be more updates to come soon!
