Kid was still trying to write his name when the bell rang. He sighed and decided to give it a rest. He gathered his things together and stood up. He was going to see Flander at work today, just for a little while. There was supposed to be a wicked concert, so he didn't plan on staying long.

Flander was dressed in an old blue school uniform and she put up two tiny pigtails at the top of her head. Kid searched for her when he got there with the others, but she was nowhere to be seen. It looked like the concert was late, and people were starting to file out.

"I wonder what happened," Tsubaki questioned.

"Did it get cancelled?" Maka asked.

Two girls were already on the stage, a drummer and a bass guitarist.

"Yeah, sorry about the wait, guys," the guitarist apologized for possibly the hundredth time. "But we'll be starting now!"

She nodded to someone off stage and another figure walked out. Kid was hardly surprised to see his sister with a guitar around her shoulders walk out to the center of the stage and stand in front of a microphone.

"Hey, everybody!" she greeted. She seemed kind of nervous. "So this is the band you've all been waiting for. We're gonna just start off with an easy one, so psych yourselves up, okay?"

The song started with a simple drum beat before Flander and the other guitarist joined in. Flander actually owned it; who would have thought she was so versatile? She leaned forward and began singing.

Haigo ni wa shatta ano kabe
yubisaki wa tetsu no nioi
susume hajike dono michi komu desho
find a way koko kara
found out mitsukeru
rock o kanadero
tooku o misuero
ikitsugi sae dekinai machi no naka

Her voice was beautiful. The crowd that was gathering loved her. She looked like she was having fun too.

Itsumade datte koko ni iru yo
toorisugite iku hito no naka
yami ni tozasareta suteeji de
ima kibou no uta utau yo
anata datte tsukareteru desho
sono senaka ni mo todoketai yo
konna kurayami no naka kara no
kibou terasu hikari no uta o
sono uta o

The song ended and Flander grinned as the crowd began to quiet down again.

"So, um…" she giggled slightly. "We're Death's Angels. I'm actually a fill-in for the lead vocalist; she got sick and couldn't perform today. I'm sorry that I'm not very good, but we're going to play one more song for you. I know it's probably not what you were hoping for, but we're singing our hearts out up here."

Another song began and Flander began singing again.

Blazing on by

There's nothing more that I could do

I'm sorry that I'll never be with you again

Even though

My hear is parched with pain

I know somehow

Your sorrow's something I won't see

It's my life

I'm moving on and never going back there

The future's turned away

And leave me on the lonely rail

God knows that I will follow you if that is what you wanted

Take me into your darkest shadows

And you'll see that

I'm even stronger than you could know

God knows that

I am standing here and you could disappear

Slipping right over the edge of the future

If I had my way

We'd be together forever

Eternally God blessed…

Kid wasn't sure why, but the song spoke to him somehow. He suddenly had this… uneasy feeling in his stomach, as if something bad was going to happen to try and separate the two. No, that couldn't be right. The witch was dead, Flan was happy… everything's fine.

After returning to the kitchen, also known as the backstage for all the guest performers, Flander returned the guitar to the other band members.

"Thanks a bunch for filling in for us, Flander," the bass guitarist said. "Just tell us if you need a favor and we'd be glad to help!"

"Yeah, thanks…" Flander sighed, smiling slightly.

"You look kind of tired, are you alright?" the drummer asked.

"Preforming can really take it out of you, yeah?" the bass guitarist asked.

"I can't breathe!" Flander gasped, collapsing on the spot.

"Flander!"

Soul Eater

The victim was hacked into six pieces. Head, arms, legs, and torso…

No…

I'll take away all that was precious to that reaper, even if it kills me. Starting with her.

Please… mother…

The parasites were found in the victim's blood. Apparently, it was some kind of freak accident.

The Queen Carrier

Behave, otherwise Oyashiro-sama will curse you….

When Flander awoke, she was in her bedroom. Kid was standing over her, putting a cool cloth on her forehead. She blinked once.

"Nii-nii?" she whispered.

"I'm so glad you're awake," he sighed. "You're working too hard; you collapsed at the café today."

"Oh, that…"

"What do you mean 'oh, that'?" Kid demanded, suddenly sounding angry. "Do you have any idea how scared I was?! Why didn't you tell me you weren't feeling well? We fought a witch yesterday; I'm surprised you were even able to pull off that performance. Flander, if you work too hard, you could kill yourself. You need to learn to take a break when you need it."

"I… I just didn't—"

"Don't tell me you didn't notice until you feinted!" Kid yelled. "What if something had happened to you? Damn it, Flander…."

"I-I'm sorry," Flander whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. "I just—I didn't want to disappoint anybody. I'm really sorry…."

Kid sighed, unclenching his fists and sitting on the bed next to her. "I just don't know what I would do if anything happened to you. You need to be more careful, okay?"

"Okay…"

If only he knew. Anyway, sorry I haven't updated or written authors notes for a while. It's just SUPER busy with playing videogames and my birthday is actually tomorrow, so as a little unbirthday present to all of you wonderful viewers, I will try to consult with my helpers and write the next couple of chapters.

Songs are the Crow Song from Angel Beats and God Knows (Official English Version) from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
