Recap: "He's quite lucky. Chris, that is." Rukia commented, looking at the happy family inside.
"Lucky?" Both of them asked her, curious to know what she means by that.
"Usually when a child has busy parents, the child ends up depressed and lonely. In Chris's case, he does have busy parents, however they are very loving and caring towards him unlike other busy parents who don't pay too much attention to their own child." Rukia explained.
Sonic and his friends were eating a rather good breakfast this morning. With Chris having to go to school today, he couldn't hang out with his friends until he got back. Though, he did get to spend time with his mother. His father had to go back to work, but they still had a great time yesterday. Rukia finished her breakfast and looks around. No Cream and Cheese around. Chris did say that Cream and Cheese would be staying in his room.
"Hm..." Rukia hummed to herself, thinking about what she should do.
While Amy and Tails were busy having a chat on the bean bags, Sonic was sitting in a chair just relaxing away. He noticed Rukia walking over to a window and opening it up. Sonic didn't say anything as she climbs out and onto the roof. She gently closes it and looks over at the mansion. She runs on top of the roof and then jumps up really high. Once Rukia was high enough, she glides over to the mansion. With the wind on her side, she was able to reach the mansion quickly without being spotted. Once her feet landed on the roof, she runs over to a certain spot and then stops. Blue eyes glanced down at a certain balcony and she jumps down. Seeing Cream and Cheese's back to her, her hand raised up to knock on the glass. Alarmed, both of them look back to see Rukia slightly waving at them. They were quite ecstatic about seeing her as Cream slides open the glass door.
"Rukia-san!" Cream greeted her happily in which Rukia returned the greeting with a small smile.
"Hello you two. Thought I give you company." Rukia said, as she pats Cheese on the head.
He gave his usual reply with a 'Chao!' and she just chuckles a little. Given the small amount of time she has spent with Sonic and his friends, Rukia couldn't help but be a little attached to them. Of course, Rukia still keeps her distance from them unless they tell her to or when she wants to join them. Ever since she was twleve years old, Rukia had only thoughts about traveling around to find a certain man. Four years have passed by and she still hasn't defeated him. Rukia did find him at least once, but couldn't defeat him. Let's just say, she was able to cheat death when she confronted him. This might be her last chance. Just thinking about it made her sigh and Cream looks at her with a concern expression.
"Is something wrong, Rukia-san?" Cream asked her.
"No. Nothing's wrong." Rukia answered with a shake of her head.
Cream regains her smile and nodded. Cream walks over to Rukia's side and looks out at the scenery. Rukia noticed she had a thoughtful look on her face before she looks up at her. Cream then gives her the best kitty eyes she could muster. Rukia was taken back by this and lightly sweat drops.
"W-what is it, Cream?" Rukia asked her, seeing how cute her kitty eyes are.
"I want to collect flowers. I was wondering if you can come with me? Please?" Cream asked, still giving the kitty eyes and now the pout.
"I'm not sure...if we should..." Rukia started off as she was slowly unable to resist her cute charms.
Rukia looks to the side and lightly sighs, unable to say no to those eyes. Rukia just nodded, not trusting her voice at the moment. Cream beams up at her and takes her hand as she runs out the room with Cheese right beside them. Since they were running across the hallway and down the stairs, Rukia had to make sure that no one was around. They reached the entrance and opened the door to go outside. Once the two of them were out, they made their way over to some flowers. Incidentally, it was also in front of the garage. Cream lets go of Rukia's hand and bends down to collect the small flowers. Sensing Tails and Amy coming closer to the window, Rukia looks up at them and gave a slight wave. The two of them waved back at her, a little dumbstruck that they saw her outside. She saw them talk to each other for a moment before a small amount of sadness filled their eyes. Rukia wondered why before looking down at Cream as she continues to collect the small flowers. At the corner of her eye, she saw Sonic speeding off quickly until she can no longer see him.
'Wonder where he's going...' Rukia thought to herself.
Looking quite content, Cream stands up with a bouquet of flowers and looks up at Rukia. She smiles at her and runs back to the mansion. Rukia followed after her quickly, making sure that nobody saw them. As soon as they entered the mansion, Cream noticed Ella opening a door and running in. She runs over to see what's up. Rukia was right behind her.
"Tonight we're going to have a party!" Chris's mother informed him.
"Party?" Chris questioned.
"We're going to invite your favorite uncle and there will be lots of food. How's that?" Chris's mother asked him with a smile.
"Great! Let's do it mama! I haven't seen him in a while! It's gonna be a lot of fun!" Chris answered enthusiastically.
"Yay! I made him smile! I'm happy as long as your happy." Chris's mother exclaimed as she gives him a big hug.
"Well as long as it's decided let's start preparations. Better hurry up! Got lots of cleaning to do." Ella decided as she quickly walks away to start cleaning.
"A party! What fun!" Cream cheered with Cheese cheering along side her. "Let's help out too!"
Rukia looks up sharply and picks Cream up before hiding behind the door. Chris's mother looked up since she thought she heard voices. Rukia waits a moment before Chris's mother went back to hugging Chris. Rukia continues to carry Cream as she runs to the stairs and went up with Cheese beside them. Her feet guides her to Chris's room and she went inside. Rukia puts Cream down and closes the door gently.
"You're going to have to be a bit more careful, Cream." Rukia told Cream.
"Okay." Cream said as she walks over to the bed and sits on it with the bouquet.
Cheese was flying beside her, watching Cream start making a flower crown. Rukia was over by a nearby wall, looking outside. If someone were to come in the room and it wasn't Chris, she would hide Cream, Cheese, and herself somewhere in this room. Luckily, no one came in this room for the time being.
"I don't think this will be enough..." Cream suddenly said after an hour or so have passed by.
Rukia looks over to see Cream holding multiple of stems that had flowers wrapped around them. The stems were also wrapped around each other to hold the flowers in place. Cream was examining it and looked a little displeased when she realized she didn't have enough.
"I better go and collect some more flowers!" Cream decided as she jumps down from the bed and runs over to the door.
'Something tells me we're going to be discovered soon...' Rukia thought with a small frown as she follows after her.
After closing the door behind her, the two head off down the hallway and down the stairs. Cream had noticed something as she stops at the bottom of the stairs and peeks out from behind a small pillar. Rukia peeks from behind Cream and saw Chris's mother hanging up decorations.
"I want to help too." Cream admitted, wanting to help put decorations up and prepare for the party.
"Chao~" Cheese was in agreement with Cream, wanting to help out too,
"Cream..." Rukia warned, but Cream looks back at her and gives her the same kitty eyes.
Rukia pauses and had her head down immediately. 'I hope Chris will forgive me...'
"Alright, but make sure nobody is around..." Rukia said with a sigh.
Cream just brightens up at her response and waited for Chris's mother to leave the room. Once she left the room while Rukia made sure she wasn't around, the two of them went into the living room. Noticing some colorful paper around, Cream started making her own decoration. Cheese would help out by passing the scissors and tape to her. Rukia was busy sensing the presence around her. Since they weren't suppose to be here, it just made her cautious and made her muscle tense. With the time passing by quickly, Rukia heard a door opening and then shutting.
"Mama! Mama!" Chris's voice calls out to his mother.
"Welcome home, young master." Mr. Tanaka greets him politely.
"Thanks, Mr. Tanaka." Chris thanked him.
Rukia saw Chris's mother run towards the door and listened some more.
"Welcome home, Chris!" Chris's mother greets him back.
"Mama, today, at nine the teacher is going to come over! He said he was a huge fan of yours." Chris told his mother.
"Oh how nice! Oh what should I wear to greet him?" Chris's mother wondered, deciding what dress would be nice to wear in front of his teacher.
"Oh good grief. What's with everyone coming over here today?" Chuck's voice asked, slightly annoyed.
Rukia notice Chuck wearing a blue suit with a green undershirt and black shoes. He was pulling on the tie around his neck, as if it was too tight.
"Grandpa? What's with the suit?" Chris asked him while walking up to him.
"Tanaka made me wear it because of the party. It's too damn tight." Chuck complained as he continues to pull on the tie.
Soon, the two start whispering to each other and Rukia saw Cream hanging up her creative decoration around a lamp. It was one of those colorful circles that are bind together one after the other. With Cheese help, they successfully decorated the lamp. Suddenly, there were panic shouts behind her and she saw Chuck with Chris trying to distract Chris's mother.
"Oh! What's going on?" Chris's mother asked, worried and surprised by their sudden panic.
"Nothing, mama. Well you better hurry up and change because Mr. Stuart is looking forward to seeing you!" Chris lied and rushed her to go get ready right now.
"But it's still early." Chris's mother protested.
"Oh, but I wanna see you dressed up, mama! Right, grandpa?" Chris asked him, desperate for her to walk away without seeing Cream, Cheese, or Rukia.
"Oh? Oh yeah right! I wanna see too!" Chuck backs up Chris nervously, hoping she buys it.
"Oh really? Okay then I'll go change." Chris's mother was doubtful, but she then agreed and walked off to get ready.
Both of them sigh in relief as Chris rushes to Rukia and Cream. "Cream, what are you doing?"
Rukia tensed up as she quickly picks up Cream and goes behind the couch when Ella started coming in. Chris quickly joins her and waits for her to leave.
"AH! Busy busy! Oh! The mistress is so sweet!" Ella commented on Cream's decoration before she walks away while humming.
"Cream, Rukia, if you hang out here everyone will find you!" Chris told them.
"But it looked like fun and I want to stay here and help out with the party." Cream protested.
"She seems like a nice person. A friend of yours?"
Rukia tensed up before looking up to see Mr. Tanaka. 'Dammit. I knew we were going to be found out.'
"Tanaka? You knew about them?" Chris asked him, still surprised that Cream, Cheese, and Rukia were found out.
"Yes." Tanaka simply answered.
'So...he knew about us the whole time. He has a good eye.' Rukia thought, impressed.
"Oh really...then will you please keep them a secret from mama and Ella?" Chris asked him, not wanting anybody else to know about them.
"Yes."
"That's a relief." Chris sighs, content with Tanaka's answer as he places a hand on his chest.
Rukia slowly stood up and looks up at Chris. "I apologize, Chris."
"Eh? Why are you apologizing?" Chris questioned.
"One, for not being in Chuck-san's room. Two, for being found out by Tanaka-san." Rukia explained.
Chris shakes his head before he replied, "No. It's okay. Just hope no one else finds out about you guys."
Chris then took notice of Cream and Cheese disappearance and started panicking.
"ACK! She's gone!" Chris panicked.
"It is fine, Chris. I know where she is." Rukia said, walking off to find her.
"Really? Then, when you find her, please take her to my room. My teacher will be here soon and I don't want him to find you two." Chris told her, still worried.
Rukia merely nodded to him as she left the room and closes the door behind her. Rukia's eyes glowed a bit before she walks over to a certain spot. Sensing Ella coming towards her, Rukia hides behind a huge vase and waits for her to pass by. Once she passes by, Rukia quickly runs to the kitchen to see Cream and Cheese pressing certain buttons. As soon as they do so, the little machines started acting crazy and the food was spilling all over the place. The pink cream hit Rukia dead on in the face. She pauses for a moment and looks over at Cream who was running all over the place in panic. Rukia runs over to her, picks her up with Cheese in Cream's arms, and ran off before anyone came on by to check what happened. As she ran off, she heard a loud yell and it belonged to Ella for sure. Poor woman went through a lot of cooking and now the food is ruined. Rukia runs up the stairs and stops in the middle of a hallway. She puts Cream down and starts wiping off the pink cream off her cheeks.
"I believe it's best if we return now." Rukia told her, wanting to make sure nothing else happens.
Rukia then licks off the cream and her eyes brighten up a bit, finding the cream to be quite delicious. Too bad it had to go to waste.
"This should do it? A little overboard but..." Chris's mother voice spoke up from a room.
The phone soon then rang and Cream walks over with curiosity. Rukia follows close behind, making sure she doesn't run off anywhere else. The two of them peek in the room and saw Chris's mother wearing a dashing red dress with blue earrings and pearl necklace with matching bracelets.
"Who could that be? Hello? … Oh! A movie? The head role! … Wow really? … Oh but... I have a party at my house tonight. Can't I leave later? … What? A reception at the hotel tonight? … I see. Okay. I understand. Okay then I will leave right away. Good night." Chris's mother finished the conversation with a sad look and hangs up.
Chris's mother then turns off the lights and her sad expression only deepened.
"It's always like this. Sorry Chris. I guess I have to leave again. I didn't get to do anything mother like. I am such a terrible mother. Forgive me." Chris's mother blamed herself as she was crying silently to herself, hiding her face with her face to prevent the tears from falling down her cheeks.
Cream, Cheese and Rukia could only watch a sad mother cry helplessly. Rukia looks away and started walking off. Cream saw this and follows her with a sad expression as well.
"... Let's go find Chris..." Rukia told her quietly.
Both Cream and Cheese nod at this before the three of them quietly walk off to locate Chris. They had to hide from Ella whenever they saw her walking around. It looks like she was trying to find Chris to tell him the news. The three of them look out the window to see Chris's mother wearing her regular clothes and Mr. Tanaka putting her things in the trunk. Ella walked up to her and the two of them spoke to each other. After a while, Chris's mother had to go and went into the car. The purple limo drove off and out of sight.
'It must be hard on the parents. Never having a chance to spend time with Chris.' Rukia thought to herself.
Rukia found herself having to hide again and she covers the three of them with the curtains. Luckily, they were long and wide enough for the three of them. Ella walked in and then walked out, doing something at the moment. Rukia then looks over her shoulder when she felt a familiar spirit and noticed a green car parked in front of the water fountain. Rukia narrowed her eyes at him.
'That's the same man that followed Chris on that day.' Rukia observed, watching as he came up to the door and rang the bell.
Tanaka went to the door and answered it. Chris ran in the room to reach the door to greet the man. Well, there was no point in coming out now when everyone was coming in the living room.
"Here you go." Ella told the guest.
The man had blond hair with teal glasses in front of his eyes. He wore a dark blue jacket with a teal shirt underneath and had on a pair of light blue jeans. The man was examining the decorations that Cream placed on the lamp.
"The mistress made that for her party." Ella said with a laugh.
"I see. I was just thinking how cute it was." The man complimented.
"I'm sorry you came all the way out here but the mistress had to leave suddenly on business." Ella informed him and apparently Chris as well, since he had a surprised expression on his face.
"What! Again?" Chris asked, looking pretty bummed out after hearing the news.
"Oh that's too bad. I was looking forward to meeting her. Well then, these are for you." The man presented Ella with a bouquet of roses.
"Oh, they are absolutely lovely! Thank you so much! I'll get the tea." Ella thanked him, gladly accepting the bouquet and walking off to make tea.
The man sat right next to Chris and put a comforting hand on his shoulder. All of a sudden, there was a loud crash and everyone was alarmed. Rukia looks behind her to see Chuck on the ground with broken flowers pots all over him. Rukia just sweat drops at this, finding the old man quite clumsy. Placing the bouquet down, Ella walks over to the window where Rukia, Cream, and Cheese were hiding behind a curtain. She looks outside and saw Chuck.
"Ack...ouch! Oh sorry about that! I was looking for something and they fell." Chuck apologized, though what he was looking for was a mystery to Rukia.
"Master! Chris' teacher is here so...!" Ella informed him.
'So, that's his teacher? Hm...' Rukia thought, looking at the man sneaking around the painting.
Her eyes narrowed at this as she saw a small like chip in his hands. Rukia's eyes glowed a bit, making the man shiver. He looked around nervously, wondering where that came from. Rukia just chuckles quietly to herself, making Cream look at her questioningly.
"What? I better introduce myself." Chuck hastily climbs up the window to introduce himself.
"Master! Use the door like everyone else!" Ella persisted.
"Oh, no one saw me!" Chuck argued, getting into the house.
"Good grief." Ella sighed, shaking her head at Chuck's behavior.
Chris then shouted out of nowhere, which alarmed everyone in the room. The teacher closed the painting quickly and the other two looked at Chris, wondering what was wrong.
"What's wrong, young master!?" Ella quickly asked him, worry filling up her eyes.
"Oh no! Nothing at all!" Chris told her quickly before sitting back down.
"Oh what a fabulous painting!" The teacher complimented.
Rukia looks behind her when she felt Sonic's presence and noticed he had a bouquet of flowers. He waved the bouquet at Cream and then points to another location before jumping away.
"Oh thank you so much, Sonic-san! Oh, Sonic went out and found some flowers for me!" Cream suddenly thanked him out loud before walking out from behind the curtains.
Both Chuck and Rukia slap their hands on their forehead, not expecting this to happen. Chris was freaking out that Cream was discovered. Ella, stunned, picks Cream up.
"Oh! What are you doing?" Cream asked her, holding Cheese in her arms.
"What the heck...this giant animal just talked!" Ella said in disbelief.
"Talked you say?" Chuck questioned, pretending to be in doubt.
"It's just your imagination, Ella." Mr. Tanaka backed him up.
"Yes, this painting really is wonderful!" The teacher complimented the painting once again.
'Oi...it's quite obvious that you found out.' Rukia thought to herself with a shake of her head.
"Oh Ella! That's a doll father got me! Can I have it back?" Chris asked her.
"A doll? Oh he should have told me he was going to give this to you before leaving!" Ella huffed.
Soon, a door opened up and revealed the same man Rukia met on the first day she got here. Rukia tensed up and remained very quiet. Well, she was quiet at the beginning, but still...what kind of relation does he have with Chris?
"Yo guys! How's everyone?" The man greeted them all.
"Hi uncle! This is my teacher, Mr. Stuart." Chris introduced his teacher to his uncle.
'Uncle!? Ah geez...' Rukia thought with a mental sigh.
"Nice to meet you. I am Chris's teacher." The teacher, now known as Mr. Stuart, introduced himself.
"Hello, call me Sonic Boom." The man, now Chris's uncle, introduced himself.
'… Is he serious?' Rukia thought with doubt.
He looked pretty serious to her and some of the family members didn't look faze at his new name.
"Sonic Boom today, huh?" Chuck said with a shake of his head.
"Today?" Mr. Stuart questioned, wondering what he meant by that.
"The highway star! Fastest man in Station Square! Faster than a storm, speed king! That's what it is today, right uncle?" Chris listed off some names and looks to his uncle for an answer.
"Yup. And today I am also Sonic Boom." Chris's uncle laughed before he got serious. "By the way Ella, hasn't the party started?"
"It's too early!" Ella huffed, looking away from him while Chris smiles at her nervously.
Chris's uncle just laughs and sits down on one of the comfy chairs.
"I do everything fast though. Fall in love fast, engage fast, marry fast, divorce fast!" Chris's uncle admitted.
'There's something wrong with this guy.' Rukia rolled her eyes as she listens some more.
"Anyway, if I don't do everything fast I feel weird. I fall asleep fast, I wake up fast, I talk faster than everyone else. No one can catch up with my jaw." Chris's uncle laughed once again.
Nobody in the room was amused since they look already tired from his explanation. It's like they heard it before and it was getting old.
"...But there is one person faster than me! He was so fast. An unbelievable speed. He looked like a giant blue hedgehog." Chris's uncle finished as he was remembering the first time he met Sonic.
"Blue! What kind of creature was this!?" Mr. Stuart asked him seriously.
"He was fairly big and had big spikes and red shoes..." Chris's uncle started off before he noticed something outside.
Rukia lightly rolled her eyes when she saw Sonic on a tree branch, just waving at Chris's uncle. He was certainly enjoying himself that was for sure. Surprised, Chris's uncle stood up and pointed.
"Ack! It's him!" Chris's uncle shouted out.
Chris, Mr. Tanaka, and Chuck look over their shoulders to see Sonic on the branch. However, when Ella looks back, Sonic disappeared. Everyone else looked away, pretending to have not seen Sonic.
"You saw him right? Right? Didn't you see him sitting on the tree?!" Chris's uncle asked them all.
"What a gorgeous composition." Mr. Stuart, once again, complimented the painting.
'Oi oi...enough with the painting already.' Rukia sweat dropped and shakes her head.
"What are you talking about?" Chuck asked, pretending to be in doubt.
"I didn't see anything." Mr. Tanaka answered with no expression.
"You didn't see anything? What about you, Chris?" Chris's uncle asked him, wondering if he saw Sonic.
Chris merely shakes his head, not trusting his voice at the moment. Chris's uncle blinks a couple of times before he rubs his eyes.
"An illusion. Yes, that's what it was. I am the fastest." Chris's uncle convinced himself.
"You aren't talking about a giant animal are you?" Ella questioned, still in doubt.
"What are you talking about? Oh, did you see something like that too? So it wasn't an illusion. He must be real! I was the first to see him!" Chris's uncle felt proud of himself.
"I mean, there is one in here." Ella points at Cream, who was still as a doll.
"Uncle! I thought mama was going to stay but she left again for work! Don't you think that's mean? Teacher was so looking forward to meeting her. He's a big fan and all. I can't believe mama." Chris suddenly said this, sounding quite disappointed.
"She's not at home much is she?" Chris's uncle asked him.
All of a sudden, Cream pushed Chris away from her and lands on the floor. She looks quite angry at what Chris said.
"How cruel! Apologize right now! She loves you very much! How could you say anything bad about your mother! I hate you! I HATE YOU!" Cream shouts at Chris, running away crying.
Everyone was in shock at what happened, but Tanaka spoke up to break the silence.
"Surprised, everyone? Well, I have been meaning to tell you about them, but..." Tanaka started off, but then coughed.
"What a great picture!" Mr. Stuart again compliments the picture.
'Someone...hand me a book...' Rukia thought with annoyance.
Soon Tails and Amy ran in the room to follow after Cream. Everyone was silent once again before Ella looked quite dizzy.
"I feel faint!" Ella exclaimed, but then Chuck ran up to her and was in a dance pose.
"Ella! Shall we dance?" Chuck suggested as the two of them began to dance.
"Oh uncle! You are the fastest in everything right?" Chris curiously asked him, not wanting him to think about what just happened.
"Yes! I remember fast and I forget fast." Chris's uncle told him as the two of them laugh together.
Seeing this is her chance to escape, Rukia climbs out the window and runs off to find Cream with the others. She did find Cream, however she was crying a river right now with Tails and Amy to comfort her. All Rukia could do is watch the poor young rabbit cry. Hours have pass on by and now everyone in the mansion knows about their existence. No more hiding anymore, unless guests were to arrive. It was late at night and almost everyone was in the living room, hanging out. Cream was in the kitchen with Ella while Sonic was with Chris. Rukia was in the living room, sitting on the couch just reading a book.
"Rukia-san!" Cream suddenly called out to her.
Rukia looks up from her book and looks over at Cream. She noticed her carrying a flower crown in her arms.
"I made this for you!" Cream said, holding up a flower crown.
Rukia puts her book down and climbs down. She lightly bends down and Cream places the flower crown on her head. She lightly touches the flower crown and lightly smiles down at her.
"Thank you, Cream."
