AUTHOR's NOTE: Sorry for the long wait on this chapter, I got caught up in trying to update Give Up The Ghost, so yay me. Anyyywayyy, here it is!
wkCaA: I apologize, but I'm not entirely sure by what you meant on your review
EmperorOfTheSunFirstAndTheLast: Thank you! I'm glad you like it. :) Yeah, it's sometimes a little tricky trying to find how your OC can fit into the story but I'm happy I was able to do that in a way the readers enjoy. Lol, in the original story, Vade was the one who said the power rangers stuff, but c'mon, we all know Roach would be the one to do it. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Roach. ;) Here's the update!
...
"I can't get anyone on the line." Ghost mutters, agitated. MacTavish is pacing the area, while the rest of the team stands idly by. I'm sitting on the ground, leaning against a car while Roach leans against the hood. "They're killing a thousand Americans for every dead Russian. Looks like we're all out of friends." Ghost sighs. A couple of people on the team give me looks, but I ignore them, instead letting Roach pull me to my feet.
"I know a guy." MacTavish stops his pacing, looking over at Ghost. "Let's find a payphone, they still exist?"
"The only thing I got out of Rojas is that the only guy Makarov hates more than the Americans is locked up in a gulag." Ghost explains, as we start walking through the city.
"Does that ring a bell?" MacTavish asks me. I scrunch my face up, trying to remember.
"Maybe. I can't be sure." Ghost mutters something, and I glare at him. "Look, he hates the entire team who took down Zakhaev, but didn't they all die on the bridge? It doesn't make sense." I explain. MacTavish gets a far away look in his eye, nodding.
"Well, it's all we got. If this con is the bait we need to catch this son of a bitch, then let's hang him from a tree." MacTavish speaks, motioning for us to follow him. I glance at Roach.
"It's a figure of speech." He explains. I mouth an oh, continuing to follow after him.
"The militia is closing in, almost two hundred of them." Ozone notes, coming back from his over watch position.
"Looks like we're going to have to fight our way to the LZ then, let's go."
"Wait," I ask, looking around and noticing we were missing someone. "What about Rojas?"
"The state will pick him up." MacTavish tells me over his shoulder.
"Works for me," Ghost butts in. We continue to walk in silence, Roach staying by my side. I struggle to comprehend how he wanted to be friends with someone like the daughter of Makarov. You are the daughter of Makarov, I correct myself.
"Nikolai, we're at the top of the favela." MacTavish says, "the militia is closing in. We'll meet you at the top of the market, do you copy? Over."
"Okay, my friend. I am on my way." Nikolai replies through the comms. I heard MacTavish call him something offending to my people, and I let it go. I usually would have responded, but I could tell he meant it as a joke to Nikolai. I hear MacTavish yell for us to take cover just as gunshots ring out over the favela. It looks like the militia has finally caught up to us. Roach lays down cover fire as I change cover and I yell my thanks to him, quickly sliding behind another wall.
"Keep pushing to the evac point!" MacTavish yells. "Don't stop, go! Go!" Ghost mutters something, just as Roach gets a mischievous look in his eye.
"Go, go power rangers!" Roach screams as he darts to the next piece of sturdy cover. Ghost smacks the back of Roach's head, and I can't help but too laugh when Roach gives me a pitiful look. The has seemed to only increase, and I tighten the straps on my protective vest, seeing as they've come loose during all the running we've done. Next time, I'll have to have someone check me to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"Lay down fire on the intersection!" I lean out from cover to check, but quickly pop back in once rounds whiz past my head. I clench my weapon tightly against my chest, trying to catch my breathe. That was close. MacTavish kneels by me, quickly glancing me over even after I assured him I wasn't hit. Soon, the intersection is clear and we make our way into an alley.
We make our way out of the alley, where we're greeted by more militia. Roach quickly takes cover into a large patch of full grown sun flowers, and I have to stifle a laugh. Something about the scene just seems so funny to me.
"I see Nikolai's pave low!" MacTavish points it out to the rest of us, and I kneel behind a broken crate as I scan the area for more enemies. "Nikolai, ETA is twenty seconds, prepare for immediate dust off!"
"That may not be fast enough, my friend. More militia are heading into the market."
"Then wave off, wave off!" MacTavish yells, waving his hand for emphasis. I sigh as I see Nikolai raise the helicopter and head further away. "We'll meet you at the secondary LZ!" I readjust my grip on my weapon, before leaning out and hitting two of the militia. They just don't seem to be thinning out, and for every one we kill, there seems to be another two more to replace him.
"Very well. I'll meet you there. Good luck." Nikolai says, before falling silent. Ozone and Scarecrow lay down covering fire as the rest of the us make our way to a wall. Ghost goes over it first, yelling out a "Clear!" before his boots even hit the ground. Roach goes to help me over, but I give him a smug grin, shaking my head as I quickly scale over it. Soon, everyone is over the wall and we make our way up to the rooftops as more militia turn the corner behind us.
"My friends, from up here it looks like the whole village is trying to kill you."
"Это вопрос очевидного." I mutter, agitated as we begin to sprint away from our pursuer's. Ghost gives me a questioning look. "That's a matter of the obvious," I explain.
"We're running out of rooftop!" Ghost yells.
"Prime example, thank you." I growl. Ghost glares at me and I cover it up with a cough. MacTavish is the first one to make the jump, followed by Ghost. I'm one of the last ones to jump, my feet narrowly missing the edge. I get a safe distance back from the edge, and turn to see Roach struggling to hang on as he dangles over the side. "No!" I yell, dropping my rifle and sliding over to him to reach him in time. My leg burns from rubbing over the concrete roofs, and I grab Roach's arm just as he's about to fall but I'm not strong enough to hold on. My hands are starting to slip, and MacTavish soon lays right next to me as he grabs Roach's arm as well and helps me pull him up.
"Tha-" Roach starts, but is soon cut off.
"There's no time!" MacTavish yells, pushing us towards the others. "Keep moving!" He turns to fire at the approaching militia, before taking off after us and keeping on our heels. We keep running, Nikolai already beginning to take off. MacTavish jumps to the ladder first, quickly climbing up and in as me and Roach follow suit. I collapse into one of the seats, and Roach immediately falls onto the ground, closing his eyes as he fights to catch his breathe.
"Roach, from now on I don't want you going anywhere unless if you're bloody jumping, mate." Ghost tells him, reaching down to slap his shoulder. Roach opens his eyes, groaning before giving me a thankful grin. I quickly return it, before leaning back and getting as comfortable as I can.
...
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry this was so late, I got caught up doing school work so I hope you understand that. I uh, kinda changed that last bit where Roach falls, deciding to do something else. I don't want Roach's and Vade's relationship to be as rushed as it was before, because yugh. Instead, have this weird little moment between them where they share a cute smile. I don't know what's going on. I never do.
Anyyywayy, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. I tried to go a little more in depth and in detail but that can still use some work. I have lots of ideas for this re-write and ugh. Anyway, feel free to point out errors or tips, it really does help knowing how I can improve. Leave a review if you want too and if not, leave a few. (Kidding). But thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day/night.

PS- I'm probably going to change the title, as Take Two isn't really a good one and you can tell by the description that this is a re-write, so I'll let y'all know what I decide to do.
