Chapter 6: Primal Theory, The Snape's Request

Harmony began sorting the potion into several vials and just as she was labeling the all along with a sample of the antidote the Headmaster approached the group with a smile, "Are they ready Miss Snape?" Harmony smiled beautifully at the older man, "Yes, they are ready and bottled. Blue labels are the potion; Red labels are the antidotes in the event of an adverse reaction." The Headmaster was gesturing for the people to follow him into the room.

Harmony had quickly stacked her notes to keep them hidden from the greedy eyes of Horace Slughorn who was showing a disappointed slump when her notes weren't on display. She looked to the headmaster and asked, "Hello Headmaster, who is everyone here?" Albus gestured to Horace, "You know Professor Slughorn, to his left is Potions Master Alfera Burblebough, to his right is Siegfried Von Virvant a Potions Master from Germany, to Master Virvant's right is Damocles Belby a Potions Master who was also working on a way to help werewolves. He is curious to see about you cure with a friend of his who volunteered to test it."

Harmony's eyes widened, "Oh that's why you wanted to make sure I had enough doses! Of course, I would be honored to allow you and your friends to participate in the trial." She winced though, "Are any of you an animagus by chance?" The German Master moved forward and kissed her hand in greeting, "I am an animagus young fraulin. Why do you ask?" Harmony smiled and began retelling her multiple theories on the werewolf behavior basing them against more common wolves. She saw comprehension in the man's eyes, "You wish to see if a wolf can make a pack or peaceful bond during the full moon with an animagus? Clever Fraulin, very clever indeed, there is much to this theory that can help many."

Harmony gave a clear curtsy, "That's my hope. My main goal is to lessen the pain they suffer during the transformation. Realistically removing the pain completely isn't possible, their bones literally break and reform into the wolf. I can lessen the pain and allow both the wolf and the man to remain alert. I hope to bridge the gap between wolf instinct and human consciousness."

The Masters each took their copies of the potion and antidote, "Please remember to take notes on any reactions positive or adverse. Blue is the potion, red is an antidote in the event of any negative reactions. Give all of your friends my best wishes and good luck for tonight everyone!" Harmony smiled as each Potion Master took great care with handling her work to not waste any of it. Each had a hopeful gaze on their face, hopes for a friend, hope for success, and even some hope for fame." The German took a look at the young witch, "When this potion succeeds know you will have a Master willing to take you on as his apprentice, Miss Snape." She shared a gaze with her brother who smiled, "I hope you don't mind taking two apprentices on. My brother and I have a habit of working together on most projects. This just happened to be my solitary project."

The Masters all nodded to each other, "Your Headmaster, he mentioned you would say something along those lines and it would be a pleasure." The siblings shared a thrilled glance and nodded at their Headmaster who gave them a wink. "Yes but only after tonight we will know if this potion is viable." Harmony clasped her hands together and looked out of the enchanted window to see the animals around the edges of the forest playing with the centaur foals. "Keep all werewolves in your prayers tonight brother. I pray this works for all their sakes."

The Masters took their leave along with the marauders while Harmony and Severus went to approach Professor McGonagall during her office hours. As they knocked they heard her stern voice, "Enter." Both siblings stepped up to the desk nodding in respect as their teacher warmly smiled and gestured for them to sit. "Mr. and Miss Snape, how can I help you two?" Harmony looked to Severus who gestured with a smile, "This idea is yours, you should ask."

The Professor looked intrigued, "Oh, what idea can I help you with?" Harmony smiled up at the Scottish woman. "Professor I would like to take any spare time you can offer to guide me into becoming an animagus. I want to not only provide werewolves with a potion but, I want to keep them company throughout their change." The woman looked surprised, "Why do you think this would help them? Werewolves are volatile and sometimes dangerous," she stared down at the siblings who smiled. Severus moved to speak, "Harmony did a study on the habits of normal wolves. Wolves are normally passive and pack oriented creatures, a wolf who loses their pack either remains alone and slowly becomes feral and unstable or they join a new pack."

Harmony nodded, "Wolves are pack oriented, and they need company or the long to try to create it. They don't react adversely to animals in the case of werewolves, only humans are in danger. So, by this theory is the human could shift into animal form, the animal may become recognized as a form of pack."

They watched as their professor stood from her desk to begin pacing in front of the window as she though over their idea. She gave a smug smile, "I have an offer, the two of you apprentice with me for the remainder of your time in Hogwarts. If you pass your Mastery Exams I will have successfully already taught both of you how to become animagi together." Harmony and Severus shared a glance not expecting such an extensive offer. "Professor we would love to accept but, you may end up sharing us as apprentices with Master Siegfried Von Virvant. He stated that he would wait for us after school but, something tells me that might change."

Minerva gave a chuckle, "Of course the German battle axe would claim you already, and lucky for you both we are old friends and learned to share apprentices long ago." She pulled out the paperwork from her desk and set it in front of both of them, "I wish you to complete these here. Know this an apprenticeship is a dedicated study of all arts of magic I can teach you, not just Transfiguration. As this journey continues you will gain a status not seen in Hogwarts since I myself apprenticed under Albus Dumbledore." Harmony looked excited while Severus nodded in acknowledgment, "I know as school moves forward pieces that are negative may fall into place. Is there anyone else you think may benefit from this arrangement?"

Harmony looked at Severus, "What was the name of Sirius' younger brother? He's in your house right?" Severus looked pleasantly surprised, "Yes, Regulus Black and Narcissa Black are both very studious and would greatly benefit from your guidance." Minerva looked pleased at the suggestions and called for a house elf. "Mipsy," a young female elf appeared, "Yes Mistress Minnie, how can I be of service?" the woman smiled, "Can you please ask Mr. Regulus Black and Narcissa Black to join us in my office?" Mipsy hopped up happily to serve the professor's request, "It's being my pleasure!" Mipsy then disappeared with a pop. Severus looked inquiring, "I thought we couldn't apparate inside Hogwarts?"

Harmony smirked, "Brother Dear, the magic of house elves isn't limited by our wards. We can discuss theories of it another time." Severus intrigued and Minerva surprised looked to Harmony and eagerly agreed to return to the topic another time.
