IM NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS
Chapter 7: of lost fathers and good dogs
Back at home, Cosette's family was going crazy trying to find the girl. It was not working though, so Giselle decided that she would find her best friend by herself.
She started by going to the place where she last her, the treasure cave. In general, the cave looked the same, except it seamed to be a lot deeper than before.
"I don't remember it being this dark before..." Said Giselle.
Suddenly she tripped over something and fell face on the dirt, and that's when she found it.
"Wha-?" It was a stone, a very shiny white sorta blue one at that. She picked it up in her hands and felt how the light pulled her in completely.
? ﾟﾌﾸ? ﾟﾌﾸ? ﾟﾌﾸ? ﾟﾌﾸ? ﾟﾌﾸ? ﾟﾌﾸ?
Mean while, the company of Thorin Oakenshield was just about to enter the forest of Mirkwood. They were dismounting the ponies Beorn had given them to get there so they could go back to their master.
"I'm really gonna miss you Marzipan!" Said Cosette as she pet the ponies main before letting her go. Marzipan responded with a shake from her head.
She then noticed how Bilbo was looking at the start of the forest, it did look rather unpleasant and scary, most of all sick.
"So this is Mirkwood forest..." Said Cosette "i thought it be more... Colorful!"
"I hear your father lives here.." Said Bilbo trying to start a conversation.
"Oh...you know huh?" Cosette tried to avoid the subject, but sighed in defeat, there was no point in keeping it a secret anymore "maybe... I don't know... But if we do meet...I wonder if he will even recognize me.."
"A father never forgets his child Cosette... Even if they've bin apart for the longest of times" assured Bilbo, smiling as he did so.
"NO! Leave my horse! I'll be needing it" called Gandalf.
"What?!" Cosette screamed "are you leaving us?" She asked worried.
"Do not worry child, I will join you once you've reached the mountain." Assured Gandalf.
He turned around to speak to Bilbo,
and Bolt decided his owner needed some help getting that smile back on her face, and it worked...just a little.
"Oh Bolt..." She hugged the pup "Your a good boy... Your my good boy!"
"Don't you worry love!" Said Kili from behind and offering his hand "it will all be just fine!" And he gave the girl a smile, the one that always made her cheeks glow mad red.
She got up, picked Bolt up and followed the rest of the dwarves inside.
"Now remember! Don't ever loose the path! If you do...you will never find the way out" shouted Gandalf as he left.
The first few hours went as they should have, they followed the path like they were told, but there was something about the air in this place that made you almost delusional.
So when Nori suddenly stopped, they all knew they had lost the path.
'It was useless. None of the dwarves paid any mind to my barks, even Bilbo had stopped listening to me. The only way to get out of here was to make Cosette snap out of it! Suddenly she tripped over herself and dropped me. I called her and she looked at me and said
"Bolt...we need to find the sun..."
I looked around and in the top of the trees there was this batch of light, I pointed at it and she smiled "good job buddy!" She pat my head, stud up straight and she started to climb up the tree, then I went and pushed Bilbo over and made him climb it too. And if anything should happen I would be safe down here with everyone else...or so I thought'
She took a deep breath of clean air and sighed, "much better now!"
She looked over her shoulder to see Bilbo "you ok ?"she asked.
"I'm fine! Oh doesn't it feel amazing to get out of there?" Said Bilbo.
"It sure does!"
Suddenly both of them saw some of the trees moving, braking and falling.
"Something's not right.." Said Cosette and dived back in to the forest without a second glance, and what she saw terrified her.
Giant spiders had used they're webs to capture her friends. She hid herself behind a tree and felt as a spider crept behind her.
She was so scared, she started to panic and horrible moments of her life passed through her mind, her mother, her grandfather, Mitchell, Giselle...'they must all be worried sick for me... And now I won't even get to say...' "NO!" She shouted, and slashed the spider that was behind her. "I'm not saying goodbye just yet..."
She then heard Bolt barking, and saw Bilbo freeing the dwarves as quickly as possible before the spiders came back. She leaped down from the tree she was in and started freeing her friends. First was Thorin, then Balin,Dwalin,Ori,Nori,Dori and then Bifur, Bofur and Bombur and lastly Fili and Kili.
There was little time to check up on each other because the spiders came back and in larger numbers. The dwarves slashed and cut and ripped and smashed their attackers but they were still very much out numbered.
And that's when she saw him. A tall elf prince gliding through trees like a squirrel, with beautiful and long blond hair and bright sapphire eyes. He got closer to the company and drew an arrow at Thorin.
"Do not think I will not kill you dwarf! It would be my pleasure.." He said grinning. There was no doubt about it, this was Cosette's father, Legolas Greenleaf.
"Wait!" Shouted a small voice from behind the dwarf pack, that sounded strangely familiar to Legolas. And then he saw her, a girl that looked to be no more than 16 years old, with waist length golden hair and big bright sapphire eyes and her lips were the color of pink rose petals, just like...
"Winry?"
"Actually...she was my mother..." Replied Cosette smiling and trying not to cry.
"Then that means..." Legolas got closer to the girl and caressed her cheek "Miltithiniel?"
"Hello... Ada.."
"HELP!" A voice screamed from a bit further away.
"KILI!" Screamed Fili, worried for his brother.
"Kili..." Said Cosette, she looked up at her father and said "I know this is probably not the best of moments but I kindah have to go rescue my boy friend!" She smiled and turned around. "Bolt!" She called the pup "zoom zoom".
And the dog ran as fast as he could in the direction were he heard Kili was.
"He knows where he is... I'll be right back!" Said Cosette as she ran towards the direction the dog went.
When she finally caught up with Bolt she saw Kili being attacked by a spider. Then she saw a female elf with long orange hair. That shot down the spider that was attacking Kili, while there were to other ones approaching.
"Throw me a dagger!" Said Kili "quick"
"You think I'm giving you a weapon dwarf? Then you are mistaken!" She answered and killed both spiders.
"Kili!" Shouted Cosette "are you alright?" She said as she made her towards him and he hugged her.
"I'm fine sweet heart" he said.
"Not for long..." Said the orange haired elf.
The orange haired elf escorted both of them back to where everyone else was. The dwarves were being searched and one of the elves was having a hard time getting Fili rid of his daggers, he seamed to have one everywhere in his body.
"Ocrist! The foe hammer! Forged from my ancestors in Gondolin!" Said Legolas as he inspected Thorin's sword. "How did you get it?"
"It was given to me!" Said Thorin
"Not just a thief...but a liar as well.." He noticed Cosette's presence behind him
"And...a kidnapper!" He accused.
Thorin was furious at this point, he was about to say something but Cosette stepped in.
"NO! Ada you don't understand! I was not kidnapped by Thorin! I joined them on the quest..." She smiled at Thorin and Kili who were behind her and held they're hands. "They are my family..my friends"
Legolas looked puzzled at the girl, he didn't understand why she was defending the dwarves.
"That may be so... But they are trespassing on OUR lands. We shall take you to the woodland realm!" Said Legolas "Tauriel!" He called the orange haired elf "your in charge of her!" He pointed at Cosette.
"WHAT? Ada! I don't need a baby sitter!" Complained Cosette.
"Enough daughter! As long as you're here you will do as I say!" Said Legolas.
Cosette was furious, 'if I wanted to be treated like this I would have stayed at home' she thought.
"Come now Linty" said Tauriel.
"Don't call me that!" Spat Cosette.
"I don't believe you have a choice Linty" Tauriel grinned.
