The funeral was, well a funeral. Opie pretended to be strong and so did Chrissy but inside they were both dying. She didn't know what to say to Opie, and definitely wasn't sure what normal thing to say to anybody else. Chrissy either worked on the house or entered numbers, and Opie, whenever somebody talked to him, it was quick. Happy was the only one he'd talk to and that hurt Chrissy a lot. But she never fought him on it because she loved Opie, and could never be the cause of him feeling worse.
Happy walked in, seeing her putting a shelf together, "This dumb fucking piece of garbage won't go together!" She used every word in the book at the shelf, and that still wasn't enough. "Need any help?" He eyes softened when she saw him and shook her head, "I will not let this defeat me!" He chuckled at her stubbornness, "Well, when you're ready to have another hand to defeat it with, I'll be in the living room." "Okay babe." She walked over and kissed him. Ever since Donna's death, they've gotten closer, and if she were in the Clubhouse, Happy would be right their. After hours of her screaming, yelling, and throwing things, she finally got the shelf together. Happy smiled as she yelled "I did it! I finally did it!" Chrissy walked out of the room and sat down with Happy, "Hap." "Yes, babygirl?" "Just, I won't end up like Donna, right? Because of a gang war?" Her lip quivering. Happy almost let himself slip but quickly reminded himself what Jax had told him. "No. I won't let it happen." Chrissy stayed silent as he continued "His was a tragic mistake, Chris. You know I love Ope. More than some, that I know." Chrissy stared at him quizzically, What does he mean, "more than some?" But Chrissy remembered to keep her mouth shut unless she was directly told. "I'm sorry. I'm just angry, I'm angry that it happened. I'm angry at everyone for letting it happen. I know nobody meant it, it's just an irrational thought, you know?" He pulled her close, "I know baby. I know." He held her as she cried in his arms. "I miss her, who am I going to talk to? Gemma, she asks too many questions. Tara is a bit uptight and crow eaters hate me because I'm with you. I have nobody, now." His blood boiled, he knew it wasn't the Niners. As pissed as they were, they wouldn't gun down a women, plus they'd be smarter than that. He rubbed her back, finally she calmed down and pulled away. "You've got me, and I know I'm not a female but I'll be there as much as I physically can." She slightly smiled at him, "You're the best man ever Happy." "I aim to please." She giggled. They stayed that way for a few hours.
"Guess it's time for work?" She sighed. Chrissy didn't want to be near that place, at least not today. But she remembered what Ope, and them promised her, 'There will be an out for us.' "Need a ride?" Happy asked her, "No." "you sure?" She thought about it, "Actually, can you take me?" He smirked, "Never could make up your mind. Come on, let's go." He handed her the helmet and she put it on. "I'm ready to go." "Remember what I told you? Lean with me." "Yes, I remember!" They took off towards the clubhouse. When they arrived, dozens of bikes were in the area and "guards" at the gate. The guards were more like big biker guys opening and closing the gate. They let them through, and she hopped off the bike. "Isn't that your old charter Hap?" She pointed over to the men wearing Tacoma patches. "Yeah." Happy was a bit nervous to talk to them, being that they weren't exactly keen on him switching charters. Chrissy gave him a quick kiss and pranced off towards the office. Kozik came up to him and hugged him tightly. "It's good to see you man. How're you holding up? Your mom doing good?" "Yeah, everything's been good, money sucks and my moms doing good as long as she has those million dollar meds. What're you guys doin here?" "Clay wanted a bunch of charters to come down, filled us in on our black problem." Happy nodded and rasped out an okay. Kozik followed him as they walked over to Lee, the Tacoma president. "Hey man, hows SAMCRO treating you?" "Very well brother. Tacoma doing good?" "Yeah but we miss you man. How's your mom?" "Good, she's workin towards getting better. Hard when her meds cost more than every bike in this place." "Fuck man, sorry. Well as one charter to the next, we're here for you." Hap have a quick smirk and hugged his former president.
Chrissy walked into the office, seeing stuff scattered all over, "Jesus fuck, what happened in here?" She began picking thing up when Gemma walked in kissing Clay, that's what happened! They broke the kiss quickly when they saw her, "Hey Chris, we thought you'd be at home." "I thought I should keep up with the work, I didn't want to fall behind." "I'll Uh, go. You too have fun." She walked out quickly, and saw Hap talking to some Tacoma patches. She wasn't sure if she should go over and talk with them so she went over to the playground, Opie's kids were playing on the swing while a women in skimpy clothes sat on the bench. "What're you doin with Ope's kids?" Chrissy asked a bit snarkly. "Oh he's letting me watch them, I guess it takes his mind off of everything. I'm Lyla by the way, and you're Chrissy right? He's talked a lot about you." Chrissy softened towards the girl, "Yep that's me!" "What're you doing hiding here?" Lyla asked. "Same could be asked if you. But I didn't want to bother anyone, I know Hap, wouldn't be too thrilled to have me hanging all over him." "Ah, so you're the one that the girls hated." Chrissy laughed "That would also be me." "Well you shouldn't let men dictate what you want. Be his girl. If he don't like it, tell him that he can fuck off." Chrissy laughed, and it felt so foreign to her. Weeks have gone by and she's never felt this good since then. "Thanks for the advice. Also, you should ask Opie out. You two would be good for each other, plus, you're gorgeous. He'd be lucky to have you." She smiled, "I'll see what I can do." Chrissy waved bye and trekked over to Happy, who was talking to more Tacoma guys. She stopped dead in her tracks when one of them asked, "Whsoe the lucky croweater tonight?" Happy chuckled and Chrissy held her breath. "Her names Chrissy and she's no croweater, though, she definitely will put you on your ass." "Do we get to meet her or is she some forbidden fruit?" He turned and his eyes connected to her's. "Speak of the devil." Chrissy thanked the lords she looked good to day. The men whistles at her, "Damn baby, you sure you want him?" She blushed, looking down at her shoes embarrassed. Chrissy could feel his body become tense, "I can show you a good time." Chrissy, walked over to him and got close. She motioned for him to scoot down, "Don't ever, talk to me like that again, you scumbag. Leave Hap and I alone, while you're here. Do you understand me?" His eyes widened and his body was stiff. Chrissy put in a smile and patted his cheek, "I'll take a rain check." She slipped back to happy's side, seeing a pleased look on his face and a shocked look others. "Hap, I'm gonna go in, I'll see you soon." He nodded and gave her a quick kiss. She pushed passed the men, as she walked in she saw Opie sitting at the bar. "Hey?" "Hey." He said bluntly. "How're you doing?" "Fine." Chrissy sighed, feeling stumped on how to get him to talk to her. "How's the kids?" "Fine. Look," he looked right into my eyes "I know you're trying to be nice but I don't want to talk. I'm sick of everyone asking how I'm doing. My wife is dead. How do you think I feel? Just go away Chrissy. Nobody wants you here anyways." She began to walk away but then turned back to him. "No. You do not get to tell me what to do nor make me feel like shit because I care. Instead of wallowing in your own pity, go be with your kids. The ones who love you. I'm tired of everyone treating me like garbage when they are upset or mad at me." In one swift motioned, she threw a glass at the mugshot, the men ran inside as they heard a loud crash.
"This was the biggest mistake ever. I should've just stayed where I was. How could I be so blind?" Opie snapped back at her, "Stop making everything about you. Nobody asked you to stay here." "That's funny because Gemma and Clay didn't mind, in fact they asked me to work for them and to come live with them. Fuck you Opie. I thought you were my friend. I guess I was wrong." She turned away from him and tried to walk out, Happy grabbed her arm, "What the fuck happened?" "None of your business." "It's my clubhouse, it is my fucking business." She opened up her wallet and threw money at him, "Here, for the pictures." Then she walked off, silently hating herself for not bringing her car. Even though Happy was right on her tail, she kept walking. "Stop acting like a child, Christine." She spun on her heels, "Fuck off. And don't call me that." He rolled his eyes and grabbed her arm, tightly. "I will do what the fuck ever I want. What the hell are you thinking? What's going on with you? You were fine and then all of a sudden you turned into a-." Happy stopped himself, "a What? Come one, tell me." He let go of her arm and sighed, "I'm not going to play this fucking game. You either walk back with me, apologize to Clay and Jax or you keep walking and don't look back til you see the sign."
"I'm sorry for breaking the pictures. I'll buy and reframe all of them. I shouldn't have let my anger get to me." The two men murmured "It's alright." Then she walked out and sat alone on the swing set. "God how could I be so fucking dumb." "Everyone's been on edge. Don't worry about it." She looked up to see Gemma. "I'm so sorry. I can't believe what I've done. I'm so embarrassed." "Men are assholes anyways. They push you until you snap and then play victim. I liked seeing that "cross no bitch" act today. Don't ever let these men walk over you. Especially if you're an old lady." "Well I doubt that. Hap is beyond angry at me and if he was with a crow-eater I wouldn't even be mad." "No different when I threw shit at Clay for fucking behind my back. I don't mind but she came here, so that's when it becomes a problem. Don't worry. It'll get better." Chrissy nodded. "Thanks Gem." She smiled and gave her hug. "Mind giving me a ride home?" "Course darlin."
I'm so sorry for the lateness.
