A/N: Hey guys! This chapter is late again, but I did publish a one shot. So if you fancy reading my adapted English essay feel free to read and review it. Also, I have been reading Vampire Assassin by deathnoteuser07 and it's bloody awesome (no pun intended). Enjoy and review, I love to hear your opinion on my work. If anyone has any ideas for lyrics to be used in this fic or wants to know where the lyrics I already have in my fic came from just ask.

Disclaimer: Stephenie Meyer owns all the characters used in this fic and Twilight unfortunately.

Chapter 7

BPOV

It's been a week. A week of nothing. No Edward and no Jacob.

I had been working longer hours than necessary, trying to keep myself sane. Edward was texting me everyday reminding me that he was always there for me and that we should meet up. Truth be told I really wanted to, but something held me back. I was scared. Scared of what he would think of me after staying away from him.

"Bella. Come back to Earth," Rosalie said whilst waving her hand in front of my face.

"Landing in five, four, three, two, one. Houston we're back," I replied jokingly.

"Thinking about Edward again?"

"Yup," I popped my 'p' trying to lighten the conversation which would soon lead to Jake. "I'm scared of what he's going to think of me. I have been pushing him away and I don't know why," I sadly explained.

"I'm sure he understands Bella. He hasn't given up on you yet which is good," she reassured me. Sure he hadn't given up on me yet, but there is only a matter of time. I hope he stays for good though; he's special to me.

Just then my phone buzzed.

Hey! I know you must be sick of me, but I miss you. Do you want to do something tonight?

Edward x

"Well," Rose pushed. "Answer back."

He wants to do something with me... tonight," I told her shyly.

"Go. Get yourself back into reality Bella. He obviously wants to see you. He needs you just as much as you need him. Before the funeral you were living off of him like a drug. You are blind to what this man has to offer you." It was almost like receiving a slap across my face hearing Rose say these things. Was I really that dependant on Edward? I had only known him two weeks.

"Ok, I'll go," I decided.

"Good," Rose said proudly like hearing a young child admitting they had told a lie.

I got back to grading essays for my next class.

"Alice, help," I practically screamed down the phone.

"Clothes?" she asked already knowing the answer.

"Yes,"

"Again," she grumbled. "You should be an expert at this by now."

"I know, I know, but you love me for it," I reminded her.

After about half an hour of discussing where we're going – which I didn't know – and what would be able to wear: we decided on high waisted black city shorts and a blue sweatshirt. It was warm, but it wasn't exactly roasting so I put a pair of black tights and my worn out chucks.

Around about seven o'clock Edwards Vanquish pulled up. I was expecting him, but since he hadn't specified when he would be here I was surprised to see him. Seconds later the familiar thud of his hands against the wood of my door came. I rushed excitedly to greet him at the door - nearly tripping on my stray shoe lace.

"Hey," I greeted. I was grinning like an idiot, but this moment was special I hadn't seen him in what felt like forever.

"Hi," he answered just as happily. I could see he was just as happy to see me as I was him.

I took a minute to admire his angelic face. He was more amazing than the last time I had seen him. I wondered how I managed to stay away from this Adonis like creature for so long.

"I missed you." It sounded so cheesy, but what the hey, it had been a while.

"Same, it's been a long week."I nodded furiously in agreement.

I asked him if he wanted to come in, but instead he practically dragged me to his swanky car.

"You look beautiful by the way," he complemented. My cheeks instantly flamed up as I whispered a quiet 'thank you'.

"So where are you taking me?" I really wanted to know.

"That's for me to know and you to find out," his voice rang. It was such a generic remark, but when he said it, it made me excited. I never liked surprises, but when it came to Edward surprises were just part of the package and I loved it.

There was never an awkward silence when I was with Edward. Something I had never experienced with other guys – not that I had been with many.

We must have been driving for an hour when Edward switched the CD player on. He told me that we were almost there. 'Kids' by MGM seeped out from the once silent speakers and blocked out the low rumble of the engine.

Edward turned to me with that magnificent crooked smile. "Surprised?"

"Yeah just a bit," I admitted.

"My music taste varies; there are more surprising pieces than that. Trust me," he let out a soft chuckle.

Not long after our short conversation Edward pulled into an abandoned car park. There were no street lamps or cars buzzing about. The scene was a picture of peace and perfection. The only thing more perfect was the man beside me.

He's not even yours and yet you're claiming that he's perfect and ogling him.

I shut my inner monologue off, hoping it wouldn't disturb my night with Edward.

Your friend.

Edward opened my door for me and then offered me his hand, much like he had done on our first meet up – if that's what you would call it.

"It's beautiful," I whispered careful not to disturb the serene setting.

Edward came up behind me and placed his hand on my arm sending sparks up my arm.

"I thought we could watch the sun set. I've never brought a girl here before, but you're different. You appreciate the simple things in life. For you it's not all about money," he whispered into my ear.

"How do you know I'm different?" I challenged.

"You just are. No girl has ever insisted that she pay the bill or offered to sleep on the couch so that I could have the comfort of her cosy bed. Bella you're you and that's what makes you different."

What I did what seemed like the right thing to do – I wasn't trying to be different.

"Is that not the polite thing to do though? Don't most people offer to pay the bill?" I was fucking confused. Were there really people that selfish out there?

"You would be surprised Bella. You're the kindest and nicest person I have met... apart from my mother," he defended. I blushed at his statement.

Edward led me over to a bench at the edge of the car park. That didn't sound so romantic. The car park was at the top of a steep hill, that looked out onto the busy Seattle night. It was something out of a romance film that was verging on the edge of cheesy, but

"This isn't too cheesy, is it?" Edward said letting his insecure side take over.

"It's perfect," I said again. "I'm a big cheese ball anyway," I laughed.

We watched the sun set, captivated by the colours that were cast across the sky and the coming of the mild night. We ate the food that Edward had prepared, it was only pasta, but it was delicious and perfect for where we were.

It was a simple night full of smiles, blushing and lots of cheesy moments. Edward made my heart flutter and my fingers and feet tingle. Something that I had never felt before.

"Are you cold?" he enquired whilst taking his own hoodie off.

"Just a little," I admitted.

"Here take this and get yourself in the car. I'll pack up. I'll be back in a minute." He started to gather the bowls and cutlery from our dinner and place them in the cooler that he had brought with him. Quickly I slipped his too big hoodie on and half ran half walked to the car. Once inside I took it off and folded it neatly for when he came back.

He arrived five minutes later with the cooler.

"I can put that at me feet if you want," I offered.

"Nah, it's fine. I'll just shove it in the trunk," he replied.

Once he was seated in the car he turned on the ignition so that the car could heat up.

"Tonight was great," I announced.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself," he replied with a gentle smile. I could see that something was on his mind.

"What's up?" I asked worried by the slight crease in his forehead and the vacant expression in his eyes.

"Bella."

"Yes..."

He leaned into me and like there was some gravitational pull I leaned in too.

"I want to show you what I'm thinking. Stay still."

I followed his instructions and stayed still and closed my eyes. I felt everything; his warm breath tickling the skin on my face and his hand that came up to my neck. His masculine scent pleased my nose and I could hear my pulse drumming in my ears.

Then the most awaited yet unexpected touch graced my lips leaving a fire in its wake. Before I had time to process what had just happened his lips connected with mine once again sending my brain into a frenzy. This time I kissed back; our lips melted together like two pieces of puzzle coming together.

In that moment I forgot everything apart from Edward.
