Chapter 5: Trouble With The Ex

Makenna's P.O.V:
I was sitting with Alec in the gardens when I heard Jane yell "MACKIE!" we stood up and ran for the throne room I saw Peter he looked at me I pressed myself against Alec's side nuzzling his neck knowing it would piss Peter off to no end knowing I had moved on, I was right as Peter yelled "GET AWAY FROM HER!" I snarled crouching protectively in front of Alec snarling "leave my mate out of this!" Peter snarled "NO! YOU'RE MINE!" I snarled "I haven't been yours for a year Peter! I am NOTHING to you" he lunged and I slammed into him and we hit the floor biting, hitting, and snarling.
Alec's P.O.V:
I saw red as Peter lunged at Mac but I knew she wouldn't appreciate me getting into her fight. This is something she needs to do on her own. I saw everyone tense waiting to see if they needed to jump in. I saw Jane holding back from using her power and I stepped up to her side placing a hand on her shoulder she looked up at me and spoke softly "she needs this" I spoke "I know, it's why I haven't stepped in. Wouldn't do me any good for her to be pissed at me when I just got her" Jane smiled slightly I watched with sadistic satisfaction as Peter flew across the room and into the wall.
Makenna's P.O.V
I snarled and growled at Peter knowing no one would stand in my way he growled "You are mine!" I snarled back "If I was truly your mate you would have never been able to cheat on me! With Charlotte at that! We have no bond! I am Alec's and he is mine!" I lunged slamming into him his teeth ripped through my shoulder I hissed and snarled in pain throwing him into the steps I crouched my power radiating around me I closed my eyes and stood up growling loudly my eyes snapped open I heard Jasper swear but ignored it I stood tall my eyes on Peter he froze his eyes widening I snarled "What is it you want Peter Whitlock? And don't say me because I know it's not true." He trembled as I stalked towards him he glanced at Alec I snarled "Eyes on me NOT my mate. You take one threatening step towards him and you will lose your head faster than you can blink" he stiffened turning his eyes back to me he said "Mackie" I snarled "That's Makenna to you" he flinched at the steel in my voice I glared hatefully but knew I couldn't use my powers because they weren't known to the vampire world yet. I stared at Peter with pure hatred I hissed "unless your visit was to speak of someone breaking the law or something as important. Leave. You have no business here in my home." He stood up I glared and growled loudly "GO!" he walked past me stopping as he reached my side I snarled as he tried touching me he flinched back I said "leave" he walked out and the doors slammed shut I clenched my fists and twitched.
Alec's P.O.V
I watched Mackie worried she would snap and go after him I jerked at a sharp nudge in my side Jane hissed softly "go to her you buffoon!" I ran to Mackie's side and wrapped my arm around her waist pulling her close smiling as she leaned into me I kissed her jaw and murmured "come my love. Let's get you calmed down" she smiled at me and nuzzled my neck softly I led her to the gardens and she ran to grab her guitar pulling me down next to her she stared strumming her guitar and singing

I smiled as she looked at me I pulled her in for a soft kiss she cuddled into my side burying her face in my throat I ran my fingers through her hair sighing in contentment.
Makenna's P.O.V
I curled into Alec's side a soft smile on my face I curled my fist in his shirt and pulled myself closer to him he held me tighter he kissed my head and chuckled softly I looked up at him he smiled brightly at me I spoke softly "Heidi is back" he stood up and pulled me towards the castle so we could go feed. My last thought before giving myself over to my instincts was that I was finally home and finally happy.
