Naruto turned almost in slow motion. But just before the Hollows could hit him an orb of wind slammed into them blowing them backwards. Sasuke and Rukia began spirit chants and Ichigo lunged forwards striking one of the Hollows who had a horned demonic mask, sending it sprawling. "Naruto get it together" he shouted. The second Hollow with an owl like mask lunged at Ichigo but sprang back as Uryu fired on it with his crossbow.
"Bakudo 4: Crawling Rope" Rukia called binding the Owl Mask.
"Hado 41: Great Fireball" Sasuke yelled shooting the Owl Mask and wounding it badly.
The Demon Mask sprang over Ichigo and lunged at Naruto. Uryu shot it in the shoulder wounding it but not stopping it. It lashed it's claws at Naruto but just as they contacted Ichigo grabbed its tail and yanked it back. The Owl Mask managed to muster the strength to lunge at Sakura but Rukia pulled her partner out of danger. Uryu transformed and Sasuke caught him. They charged Owl Mask.
Meanwhile Demon Mask had recovered and spun to face Ichigo. It whipped its tail and threw him to the ground lunging at him. "Hado 31: Red Flame Cannon" Rukia yelled shooting Demon Mask and knocking it away from Ichigo.
"Thanks" he panted.
"No problem" she replied.
Demon Mask got up looking mildly annoyed but otherwise alright. 'Looks like it still doesn't have any power unless I use a spirit chant. But still look at the size of that thing. Looks like I'll have to use that technique' Rukia thought. "Ichigo cover me for a few seconds" she said.
"Got it" Ichigo replied.
Demon Mask charged forwards but Ichigo sprang up over its swipe and delivered a spinning kick to the arrows Uryu had shot it with earlier. Demon Mask roared in pain. He and Ichigo continued to fight. "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter wings, ye who bears the name of man! Truth and temperance upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado 33: Pale Fire" Rukia said.
"Ichigo get out of the way" Sakura called as Rukia unleashed the spell.
Ichigo dove to the side just in time. Demon Mask was a little slow. He dodged the worst of it but lost his tail and one of his legs was severely burnt. Rukia gave a gasp of exhaustion. After having just finished a long day of work she was tired already but using a spell without its spirit chant and using Hado 33 had drained her power far more than she was expecting. Taking advantage of her distraction and Ichigo's distance from him the Hollow lunged at Naruto again.
'He's coming. I have to do it. I have to do it' Sakura thought. She morphed her arm into a blade and dove in front of Naruto extending her arm to meet the Hollow's charge.
Sasuke meanwhile had underestimated his opponent. He had assumed victory over the Hollow would be easy because of it's wounds. What he hadn't counted on was how much more dangerous an animal gets when it's been hurt. Sasuke was on the defensive with Owl Mask pounding away.
As Sasuke narrowly dodged its strike Uryu released his transformation and flung three arrows at it's face causing it to flinch. Sasuke took advantage of the opening and punched it hard, striking where his fireball had burnt the skin clean off. The Hollow gave a screech of pain then shot skyward revealing that it had wings.
Uryu transformed again and Sasuke grabbed him and sprang up slicing through one of Owl Mask's wings. The Owl Mask howled and plunged down towards Naruto.
Rukia was having a bad day. First she had woken up early to get to the meeting place on time only for Ichigo and his partner to ruin it by showing up late. Then she'd spent the entire day doing ridiculous chores, she was a Shinigami for Gods sake! And now she was caught up in the middle of a Hollow ambush with two useless weapons, one of which was about to get eaten unless she did something that was going to hurt a lot. '*sigh* I guess I have no choice' "Bakudo 4: Crawling Rope" she called as the spell formed.
Uryu was having a bad day. To start things off Sasuke had kept him up all night with constant noises coming from his bed. Then when morning came Sasuke was in a really bad mood and complaining he hadn't slept well. Then when got to the meeting place of course Naruto and his partner were late. And then he and Sasuke had spent the entire day doing ludacris menial tasks. Were they shinigami or weren't they! And now he was in the middle of a Hollow ambush that should never have happened because Hollows shouldn't be this close to the village and where were the sensei's?! And now an incredibly useless weapon was going to get hurt unless he did something that was gonna hurt a lot. 'What a pain. I guess I have no choice' "Sasuke throw me at the Hollow!" he yelled. Sasuke did so.
'Make it in time' Rukia and Uryu thought as Rukia built up power and Uryu released his transformation and aimed his crossbow.
