I own nothing but I hope you enjoy it anyways.
Audry could not stop the laugh from escaping her lips as she looked into the bright blue eyes of the elf warrior who introduced himself as Kallo Ignis. The man was humorous as he boasted about the great deeds he has done as if fighting a dragon was anything special.
Please she faced a dragon at fourteen with only a wand as her companion but you didn't see her boasting about it. She watched as he danced around her, his blond hair swirling around his head and his soft voice taking on an animated tone. She silently wondered if women actually fell for this crap.
"There you are little one." The brooding dark voice of Izzard stated as she turned to watch him come out towards them. A dark frown covered his lips and a look in his eyes that she could not put a name too.
"Ignis was just explaining to me how he took care of the dragon Hasan." Audry stated with a smile on her lips as a way of greeting.
"Is he now?" Izzard asked his eyes boring into the warrior.
"Would you care to join us, it's quite entertaining."
"I assure you taking on a dragon while a great feet is not something I wish to hear him speak of again little one." Izzard stated and Audry could not stop the laugh.
"Taking on a dragon is not such an amazing feet Izzard. No offence Ignis but I faced a dragon when I was fourteen. Dragons are extraordinary creatures but there weakness is in their eyes and the backside of the legs." She stated flippantly making Ignis's eyes widen.
"Merlin is in the castle, you did not tell me you would be visiting the human king today." Izzard stated, ignoring the warrior in favor of talking to his little one.
"Merlin! I forgot!" She cried as she jumped up and ran away without so much as a fare well to ether elf. Once she was completely out of sight he turned to face Ignis, his eyes dark and his voice cold.
"You would do well to not pursue her Kallo Ignis. She will not be another notch on your belt. As it is I do believe you have other things to do then to sit here reliving your battles."
"I was simply keeping the lady company Kallo Izzard. She looked to be brooding about something or other." Ignis stated as he held up his hands. He watched as the darker elf glared before turning around and walking away. Izzard never saw the smile that threatened to take ahold of his lips. "It seems the princess was right my friend, I wonder if you know that the little elf has captured your heart. It shall be interesting to watch tis unfold." He stated once he was out of sight.
"How did it go?" The lite tinkling voice of the princess asked making Ignis turn around to bow before a goofy grin took over his face.
"I fear the little elf may think I am a braggart and a fool. Are you aware she faced a dragon at fourteen years of age? I thought to impress her with the tail of Hasan only she found it amusing." Ignis stated with a laugh as the princess shook her head.
"It is to be expected, she talks little of her time before she met King Arthur and his advisor but I fear there may have been little joy. How did my brother respond to your attempt at flirting with her?"
I fear the next time we spar I may end up with bruises in places I never knew you could bruise. Do you see his eyes when he looks at her princess? A fool can see the way they soften, he looks as if she is the very essence of the moon and he is but a humble moon elf come to gaze upon her beauty. His voice softens as if to speak any other way would be offensive to her ears. I have never seen him react in such a way and I have known him since we were but boys."
"What do you think about them Ignis?" Alana asked, her arms folded and her head tilted to the side.
"What do I think? I think she would make him a wonderful wife but I also think he will be extremely possessive and protective of her. I think she will show him what it means to find pleasure in the simpler things and perhaps she may yet show him what it means to live. I doubt there will ever be another person human or elf that will make the prince look twice. I also think the rest of us lesser beings will be in severe pain until he decides to marry her."
"Why do you say that?" Alana asked with her brows furrowed.
"Because if looks could kill I would have been dead. He isn't going to take kindly to the rest of us even thinking about flirting with her. He will make our lives a living hell."
"Do you think we should rethink this idea Ignis?" She asked a little worried. She knew her brother and when his ire was gained he was dangerous, he could and did fight with a single minded purpose.
"It is better we gain his wrath with light flirting than one of the people who would stand no chance and may well seek to actually bed her. I am not a fool Alana. If once actually tried to get the elf into their bed then they are as good as dead. He will not sit idly by, he would kill the fool and it would likely destroy him. I will let the others know to be careful, light flirting but no touching and defiantly not to try anything with her. They should, for all intense and purposes act as if she were you."
"As if she was me?" Alana asked amused.
"Indeed, Izzard is protective of you, none of the men would ever dare try to get you into their beds and as such they should not try to gain Audry into theirs."
"That is perhaps for the best, do keep me abreast on what is happening Ignis. I plan to have my brother married by the years end and Atar wishes for a winter wedding." She turned to walk away when Ignis called out to her. She didn't turn around but she did stop.
"When Izzard is married will you still take the crown or will you allow him to have it?"
"It is my wish and hope that Izzard will be king, it is his birthright, and then perhaps I will be free to find a husband. Atar and I have discussed it at length and he will be hard pressed to take up the mantel but I think I may be able to persuade him. He will make a fine king and Audry will be a beloved queen, if not a bit unusual." She stated before moving once more.
