Fallon's POV
"Found anything for Emiko?" I asked Dai as he looked into the window of a local shop. The weekend had passed like a blur, and my parents finally came home last night. They were able to catch the leader of the rogue vampires in Tokyo, the other vampires that served under the rogue decided to get better educated about their new immortal lives instead of being killed.
"I can't afford anything like that jewelry box" Dai said finally turning to me looking defeated. Emiko's birthday was coming up, and of course like every year Daisuke always tried to find something special for her. Dai sighed and suggested we head home, as we turned the corner the two of us noticed some movers were trying to get a piano into a building. The sound of a rolling ball came to my ears and a little girl no more than six years old was running after it. My blue eyes widened as one of the piano ropes suddenly broke, my maternal instinct kicked in immediately and I ran towards the girl like lightning.
"Fallon look out!" I heard Dai yell as I grabbed the little girl. I suddenly felt my body being pushed forward just as the piano finally crashed into the concrete.
"Dai!" I screamed now worried for my friends life. I released the little girl and saw Daisuke coughing and opening his red eyes. As my best friend slid out from underneath the piano I threw myself into his chest and beat my fists against it.
"Why did you do that you idiot!" I was more upset than angry. Daisuke suddenly hugged me to apologize.
"I'm sorry Fal I couldn't just let that piano crush you"
"You're still a baka" I scolded the red head before finally removing my head from his chest.
"I'm so sorry are you two okay?" one of the blue suited movers came to us.
"Yes it missed us" Dai told the concerned man. My attention returned to the little girl who was still figuring out what was going on. I walked over to her and bent to her level, putting a reassuring hand onto her shoulder.
"Are you okay sweetie?"
The little girl nodded, while Dai looked happy to see the girl was safe. As I helped the girl up the girl's mother finally arrived yelling for her child. The girl suddenly got teary eyed before she started to cry, she gripped hard against her mother when she brought her into a hug. Dai then all of the sudden took off, what the hell?
"Young man?" the mother asked looking behind her, her eyes then went to me. The mother picked up her daughter and came to me.
"Thank you for getting Miho out of harm's way"
"Not a problem I think my friend just got scared will she be okay?" I inquired nodding to her daughter, the little girl was starting to calm down.
"I think so but may I still get your name along with your friends?"
A few minutes later.
I tried to find Daisuke but I guess my best friend decided to head home.
"Hey I'm home!" I shouted as I shut the door. Immediately both Mom and Dad ran up to me.
"You're not hurt are you?" Mom asked looking over me to make sure I had no injuries, even if I did they would heal fast.
"Dai pushed me out of the way and I know what I did was stupid I'm sorry" I apologized to them both.
"I agree what you did wasn't smart Fallon, but you're not hurt but please more be careful okay kid?" Dad asked as he patted my head.
"Gah Dad lay off the hair will ya?" I growled at my old man who chuckled.
The Next Day
Daisuke ended up calling me before I went to bed last night, he apologized like crazy for ditching me. As usual I forgave my adorable bff, before I went to sleep.
"Mr. Dark hasn't shown up recently has he?" a group of girls was talking about a certain thief as I entered homeroom.
"Has another warning letter shown up?" I inquired while I set my things down at my desk.
"Not yet" the black haired girl named Stacie replied to me. I sweat dropped as the three of them said in unison. "I would sure like to meet him"
Oh brother I thought to myself. A blush came to face as I remembered the heated make out session we had after that blonde angel's attack. What is wrong with me? Am I just crushing on Dark or am I in love with him?
To be honest I was falling for the purple haired angel but I was still unsure however what I had was either a crush or love. Takahashi then used that chance to come to me.
"Hey Fallon want some photos of Dark?" the wannabe reporter inquired while he threw an arm over my shoulder.
"Forget it buddy I ain't giving you my notes or letting you copy my homework" I growled at him, Takashi only protested. Daisuke finally came in the classroom and was setting his stuff on his desk, I used that chance to escape Takashi.
"Still thinking about what to give your Mom?" I teased my best friend hopefully to get him in a better mood today.
"Yes but I'm a blank slate" Dai said before letting out a sigh.
"What's with that sigh Niwa?" Riku said as she joined me and Dai.
"Dai's trying to find a present for his mother"
"FALLON!" Dai protested as his face turned beet red.
"Hey don't tell me you still buy birthday presents for your mother, you're like fourteen years old!" Takashi said as he walked up to us. I gave the reporter a death look which got him to laugh nervously.
"We'll ya doesn't everyone do that?" Daisuke questioned.
"No they don't" Takashi said. I noticed this conversation was not helping Dai's mood. "Maybe a girl can get away with it"
"I think it's a sweet thing to do" Riku added.
Takahashi looked at the elder Harada before saying. "Look if you have to get her something just wrote her an I owe you for a backrub or something, oh snap!" Takashi said before he finally noticed my fuming face. Everyone in the classroom cleared the way as I chased the reporter with around room.
Daisuke's House
At the end of the school day Dai had told me Emiko wondered if I wanted to have dinner with them, of course my folks didn't mind when I called them from my cell.
"I'm home!" Dai called as we entered his house.
"Hey honey!" both Dai and my eyes went bug eyed, in front of us Emiko was in a school uniform, which was a pretty shade of indigo.
"Mom!" Daisuke protested as I snickered.
"It's good to see you Fallon" Emiko said as we walked up to her. Dai's mom then gave a motherly hug which I happily returned.
"What's with the uniform Mom?" Daisuke inquired.
"This happens to be my old school uniform I found it when I was cleaning I feel like a teenager again, I can't believe it still fits" Emiko said before giggling happily.
"Aren't you a little old for that?" I did an anime fall as Dai asked this.
"I'm too old?" Emiko demanded from her son her hands on her hips. Dai sweat dropped before replying.
"No you're not I was just contaplating that people will think your still a student"
"What's that supposed to mean it may surprise you that I was quite popular in my day come with me you two"
I snorted as Daisuke was dragged to the dining room table.
"It's good to see you Fallon how is your violin playing coming along?" Daiki, Daisuke's grandfather asked from the sofa.
"It's going well I'm ready for my final With!" Daisuke's rabbit finally decided to show up, the rabbit excitedly said "Ku!" when he saw me. A few hops later the white fur ball was in my arms, as I went to sit down next to Emiko at the dining room table. In front of her was a photo album of her growing up, Emiko was actually a pretty girl. Emiko then began to explain about every morning starting in high school boys would leave her love letters in her locker, in the afternoon they would wait to offer to walk her home.
"I wish I had luck with the boys like that" I said sarcastically. That comment got both Emiko and Daisuke to laugh.
"So what happened with the boys that crushed on you anyway?" I asked Emiko politely.
"They all got scared because all I asked was a simple thing to have a baby boy" when she said this both Daisuke and I both turned red. Dai may not know about where this conversation was going, but I knew well enough. I had gotten the sex talk from my parents when I was only eleven and even then I didn't like it.
"Hold on a sec how did you meet Dad then?" Daisuke suddenly said. I never met Daisuke's father but from I heard he was a good man from Dad and Mom. Emiko smiled at the mention of her husband's name. She then started to explain about the St. White festival which happened every December, it was an event when you received anything white from the person you love. As it happened my father met my mother during a St. White festival, and as I said before love at first sight.
Emiko continued as she said she was given many beautiful things such as jewelry, perfumes all of the girly crap, but what stood out was a single white ribbon, that present left an important impression on her. So the next year she received the usual girl stuff, but her white ribbon didn't show which disappointed her. One day while she was waiting to catch a train for school, she felt tired and was anemic due to her being up all night writing a report. She almost fell in front of the train until Dai's dad caught her. Kosuke who was Daisuke's father then escorted Emiko so she could rest on a nearby bench, as he was handing her a hankerchief a familiar white ribbon was with it. Emiko recognized the ribbon and this got Kosuke busted, which of course was to be expected as Dai tended to be a klutz too. Before Emiko could finish she suddenly stood up panicked.
"Oh no I forgot the laundry! Oh I better bring it inside!" as Emiko hurried past us I snorted.
"You definitely have your parents genes Dai"
"You're right I do Fal" Daisuke agreed before the two of us laughed.
Daisuke's POV
Dinner with Fallon was excellent, afterwards I walked her home. It wasn't that late and I finally knew what I wanted to give Mom for her birthday. Mom luckily didn't tell Fallon about Dark, which wouldn't be a good thing, when I thought about that I heard Dark chuckling in my head. I really wished he didn't flirt with Fallon like he did, I mean he also liked Ms. Harada and I didn't want Fallon's feelings to get hurt.
Mom thought a lot about Dark growing up she may say some crazy stuff every now and then but I'll try and listen, I'd do anything for her
Is that so?
Oh great now Dark was awake. I suppose we can start with getting her a birthday present?
Dark!
I protested at my alter ego.
So what do you think we should get for her?
"Hey this is my mother we're talking about so you just stay out of this you hear me?!" I snapped at Dark.
Don't be selfish in a way she's my mother too, she did bring me back into this world, whoo, she's a looker isn't she? Mind if I take this as a keepsake?
I closed my drawing pad blushing.
Awww don't be like that we're going to need that pad of paper anyway.
"Are we making a birthday card?" I asked my other half.
Not a card but a warning letter.
A Few Days Later.
Fallon's POV
As I was heading out the door for school I heard the television.
"We have just received word that Dark has sent a new warning letter, in it Dark boasts a little after midnight tonight I will steal the hearts of the world's number two ladies" that got me to do an anime fall. Dad who had been watching the news looked to me, this morning he was wearing a long sleeved light blue shirt and red pajama pants. Mom had left for work a few minutes ago.
"You okay kid?" Dad inquired as I got back to my feet.
"Yeah I'm fine Pops, just surprised Dark isn't going after some piece of artwork" I replied before kissing him goodbye. When I got to homeroom the girls already were talking up a storm about the warning letter. Growling I took out my binder of Yugioh cards I brought. Today was Anime Club, I joined it at the beginning of the school year, and there would be duels in the club today.
"Are those you're duel monsters cards?" Daisuke asked as I held the binder close to my chest. I smirked at him and said.
"Yep Anime Club this afternoon" I said as I set the binder down and opened it up.
"Whoa those are a lot of nice cards Fallon!" Takashi said as he joined Daisuke's side.
"I'm not giving you any of my cards Takashi, especially not my Blue Eyes White Dragons or other rare cards" I growled at him.
"At least you have one of the Egyptian God Cards" Takashi said as he pointed at my Obelisk the Tormentor card.
"True but I'm still looking for Slifer and the Winged Dragon of Ra I can't find those cards anywhere" I groaned as I closed the binder in defeat.
Later that Night
Daisuke's POV
I heard Mom go through my room and got outside onto the roof looking for something. After making sure it was clear I woke up With.
"Let's go With" With woke up with a "Ku".
Emiko's POV
I looked at the town clock through my binoculars. The nerve of someone sending a fake warning letter really annoyed me which was why I was outside looking for said fake.
"He should show himself any minute now" I growled before looking in another direction, I caught the sight of black feathers.
"Got him!" as I said this I lost my footing from the roof and I was starting to fall towards the ground, only something caught me. I blacked out for a second before a familiar voice asked me in a amused manner.
"What are you doing in a place like this Ms. Tomboy?" Dark was holding me bridal style when I came too. He gently landed back on the spot on the roof where I was a second ago.
"Some imposter has been sending letters in your name you have to help me catch them"
"That wasn't the work of an imposter I sent that letter for a reason"
"What?" I was now confused. "You sent that letter?"
Dark nodded before I continued. "What were you thinking what's all this world's number two ladies stuff what on earth?" however Dark interrupted by holding a finger in front of me.
"You're the world's number one lady" he said happily.
"What?"
"We never had much of a chance to talk have we? So this is long overdue I just wanted to tell you thank you" Dark began. I blushed and asked.
"For what?"
"For believing in me for so long, and for giving me birth which was more important than you thought, this is from you're other son" Dark then pulled something out from his pocket. "Happy birthday mother" Dark said to me and winked. I took the present from Dark and gave him a hug which he happily gave me. When I got inside I sat on the living room couch and opened Dai's gift, I gasped it was a drawing of me when I was younger in high school. The gift got me to go all teary eyed I would however have to thank Daisuke in the morning since he was asleep. I however did go into his room to kiss him, I also placed the white ribbon beside him before I left him to his dreams.
Fallon's POV
Anime Club rocked this afternoon, I ended up winning three duels while losing one. I was glad tomorrow was Saturday because I got to sleep in. As usual I was in another one of my emerald green tank tops with black pajama shorts, I was sitting in one of the chairs on my balcony. I frowned as I looked away from my drawing pad as I felt a gust of wind. Dark most likely already visited his two lucky ladies to steal their hearts.
What utter crap was I really hoping he would show up to me? I thought to myself as I returned to my drawing.
"Whatcha drawing?" I yelped as Dark's voice surprised me. I quickly shut the drawing pad before standing up, Dark was dressed in that usual black attire of his from before when we had our make out session. His wings weren't anywhere, how he got to places with his those black feathers coming and going got me to wonder.
"What is it you want Dark I thought you had to go steal two ladies hearts?" I said to the Phantom Thief, narrowing my eyes. Dark smirked before replying.
"I already visited the world's number one lady and now I'm here for number two"
"Wait so you mean me?" I said felt my face turn blood red so Dark was thinking of me. Dark chuckled as he came up to me, he brought me into a loving hug.
"You're important to me Fallon, I don't know why but you just are" the way he said that was like a love confession. It was my turn to act this time, I seized the Phantom Thief's shirt collar and brought Dark's lips against mine. For some reason I needed to kiss him, I couldn't explain why but it seemed that the wolf half inside me along with the vampire half wanted him badly. And I'm not referring to sex, just the need to kiss him. Dark's arms snaked around my waist and he lifted me off the ground like I was light as a feather. Dark sadly was the first to stop our kiss, I growled when his lips left mine.
"If we keep up I won't be able to give your late birthday present" that comment got me to widen my eyes as he put me back down.
"My birthday was in August Dark" I was born on August 21 making me a Leo, my element was fire. It seemed to fit with my feisty personality and the desire to protect the ones I loved. It was late November now, and past Thanksgiving.
"I didn't awaken till the after mid November silly so the more reason to give you this" Dark took something out from his pocket. The box was small and it had my favorite colored wrapping paper and ribbon. I took the box from him and opened. When I saw what was in the box I squealed, and glomped Dark which caused us to fall onto the balcony floor. Thank god my parents were asleep, right now. Dark somehow managed to get Slifer the Sky Dragon and The Winged Dragon of Ra cards.
"Oh man I love you so much right now" Dark snickered before I got off of him.
"A friend of yours said you wanted them who you have to find out" he teased Dark suddenly had my drawing pad.
"No don't!" I protested as the Phantom Thief opened the pad.
"Who's this?" he grinned while showing me the Seto Kaiba picture I was in the midst of doing.
"A favorite character of mine from Yugioh" I stated blushing.
"Oh and do you happen to like this character like you like me?" Dark asked with an even wider grin. I grabbed the drawing pad away from him.
"He's not real"
"True but I bet I can steal your thoughts of him away" Dark teased. I flashed the Phantom Thief a look.
"How so?"
"With this" Dark then pinned me against the wall, with another kiss. I still held my present and drawing pad as the angel's tongue went into my mouth. Once he got tired of the French Kiss, his lips then went to the left side of my neck. I fought back a moan as his tongue licked my weak spot before he bit into my flesh.
"Oh gods" I said as Dark finally satisfied pulled away. He cupped my chin making me look into his amethyst eyes.
"Sooner or later Fallon you will fall me for me you already have began the process of starting to like me"
"Damn right I have" I said. He placed another kiss against my mouth, before he continued.
"I truly believe you are the woman who will end my loneliness my songbird I really do goodnight my Sacred Maiden" with that Dark's wings returned to him before he took off into the night.
