Happy New Year my devoted readers! I promised other couples would have their love scenes, so here's chapter seven!

Disclaimer: I don't own Zara or Slayers

Chapter Seven: Sledding!

"Hey guys, do you want to go sledding?" Amelia asked.

"Sledding?" Lina said.

"Yeah! My daddy said that we could use the discarded shields from the royal armory!" Amelia exclaimed.

"Really? Cool!" Zara said.

"I don't see why not," Lina said.

"Awesome! Mr. Zelgadis and I will get the shields!" Amelia said happily.

"We can use the hill just outside the city," Xellos said.

"Cool! Everyone regroup there, then!" Lina said, running off. Gourry followed.

"Wow, this is a huge hill!" Zara exclaimed. The hill Xellos suggested was called Death's Peak and was known for the trees and rocks scattered randomly down its slopes.

"Well, this looks completely safe," Lina said sarcastically.

"If you think it's so safe, why don't you go down first?" Zelgadis suggested.

"Did you not hear the sarcasm in my voice?" Lina yelled.

"Maybe Mr. Xellos should go down first. He suggested it," Amelia said, looking down nervously at the slope.

Xellos shook his head. "Oh no, I couldn't possibly ruin the first ride down!" he said sheepishly.

"I think Xellos is scared!" Filia exclaimed.

"I am not scared! Give me a shield!" he said. Amelia handed him a large round shield and he prepared to go down the hill, phasing away his staff so he could use his arms for balance.

"Daddy is really going to do it?" Val asked Gourry.

"What?" Gourry asked. "Sorry, I wasn't paying any attention!" he said, looking down at Val.

"You're funny, Uncle Gourry!" Val chirped, laughing. Gourry just rubbed his head, confused.

"Here I go!" Xellos yelled. He pushed off and started dodging through trees and rocks with ease.

"Mommy, that looks scary!" Val said, nervously.

"Don't worry, you won't be going down this death trap of a hill, honey!" Filia said with determination.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Xellos cried as his board hit a rock and sent him flying into a tree.

"See! We shouldn't be doing this," Zelgadis said.

"These shields do look really flimsy," Amelia said, doubtfully.

"We can just use magic to fly out of harm's way!" Lina exclaimed. She grabbed a shield and leapt onto it. "WEEE!" Lina yelled as she flew down the slope.

"Hey Lina, wait up!" Gourry called. He grabbed a shield and followed Lina, dodging the trees and rocks as he went.

"Yikes!" Lina yelled as she nearly wiped out and hit a tree.

"Lina, are you okay!" Gourry asked, turning around worried.

He saw his friends waving and pointing at him frantically. He waved back, and smacked into a tree. "Oof," he said, falling down.

"Gourry!" Zara cried. He took a shield and leapt after his friend.

"Zara, you idiot!" Zelgadis growled.

"Zara, I'll help you!" Val yelled. He took up a shield and sledded down after his friend.

"VAL, NO!" Filia screamed. She jumped on a shield and took off after the little ancient dragon.

"I can't believe what a bunch of idiots they are!" Zelgadis exclaimed to Amelia, face-palming.

"In the name of justice, I shall help you, friends!" Amelia yelled, striking her signature pose. She took a shield and rode down the hill.

"Wha- Amelia, you too?" Zelgadis yelled. "You'll be killed!" Gourry and Xellos got back on their shields and took off once more.

The Slayers, minus Zelgadis, flew down the terrifying slope. No one was severely injured, that is until Gourry bumped into Lina, starting a chain reaction. The Slayers ended up wiping out, and getting caught in a tree, dangling from a tall branch, each one grabbing onto the others' legs so they created a chain.

"Takes brains like Gourry to end up in that situation," Zelgadis said, sighing. "Well, I'm taking the safe way down." He started walking, but stepped on a shield, throwing him off balance. "AAAAAHHH!" he screamed as he slipped and slid down the slope on the shield like a penguin. A rock, acting as a ramp, sent him flying into the air over his friends. Still screaming, he crashed down onto the frozen lake breaking the ice. He flew up in a bubble of air, dripping wet.

"Oh Cepheid, Zel, that was awesome!" Lina exclaimed as Zelgadis landed on the shore. The Slayers got down from the tree they were in.

"Mr. Zelgadis, are you okay?" Amelia asked, worried.

"I'm fine, Amelia," Zelgadis reassured. The princess kissed him, right on the lips. He was startled by this, but just decided it would be better to let it play out.

"Oh Cepheid, you two! Stop sucking face!" Lina yelled.

Zelgadis and Amelia broke apart. "I've always wanted you to do that to me," Zelgadis said, blushing.

"I just couldn't bear the thought of losing you, Mr. Zelgadis," Amelia said, blushing as well.

Filia was hugging Val. "Honey, don't ever scare me like that again!" she scolded, sobbing.

"I won't, Mommy," Val said, hugging her.

Bubbles rose up to the surface of the lake, and a shadow appeared under them, interrupting the love scene.

"What is that?" Gourry asked, nervously.

His question was answered by an ear-splitting roar. A lake monster shot out and fired a laser at the gang, causing them to split up.

"Well, this is just great," Lina said, sighing. "There just happens to be a lake monster in the lake!"

"Did you know about this, Mr. Xellos?" Amelia asked.

"Well, of course! But I think it's so much more fun this way! Don't you agree?" Xellos said cheerfully.

"Look out!" Zara warned. The gang dodged another laser.

"Let's go guys!" Lina yelled, flying up.

"Right!" Zelgadis said. He flew up to join Lina.

"For justice!" Amelia cried, leaping up as well.

"No one will ruin a love scene as long as I'm around!" Filia yelled. She ran behind a tree and transformed, flying out moments later. Gourry rode on Filia's back, taking out his sword. Xellos phased away and Zara and Val hid in a tree to watch the battle unfold.

"FIREBALL!" Lina yelled, sending the spell at the monster. It just whacked it back at her. She twisted so that it barely missed her.

"Hey guys!" Zara yelled. "Try electrocuting the water! It'll act like a conductor!"

"ALMEKIA LANCE!" Amelia cried, sending the spell toward the lake. The spell hit the lake and shocked the monster with waves of electricity. It roared, but was still standing.

"Take this!" Filia yelled, sending a Laser Breath at the monster. She burned it, causing it to cry out in pain.

"Release the Gourry bomb, Mommy!" Val cried from his perch.

"Mr. Gourry, jump off my back onto the monster, okay?" Filia banked sharply, causing Gourry to jump.

"Yeah!" Gourry yelled, landing on the back of the sea monster. He stabbed his sword down into the monster's head. He then tried to hang on as the monster shook its head back and forth. His sword came out and he fell.

"Gourry!" Lina cried. She sighed in relief as Gourry was picked up by Filia.

"Miss Lina, nothing fazes it, not even one of Miss Filia's Laser Breaths!" Amelia yelled.

"Alright, time for the big guns!" Lina yelled. She started chanting, "Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows…"

Filia picked up everyone and took off, away from the blast zone.

"…DRAGON SLAVE!" Lina yelled.

King Phil was riding his horse outside Sailune. He heard an explosion and looked toward Death's Peak to see a wall of fire coming at him. He gulped as the fire stopped inches away from his nose, singeing his eyebrows, and disappearing. He then proceeded to ride back to the palace, saying that he had enough fresh air.

Me: Ahhhh! See! Zelgadis and Amelia finally get their love scene! I'm pretty sure that something happened during that kiss, something special...

Lina: Yay! I finally got to blow something up using my Dragon Slave!

Me: Way to ruin a moment, Lina. *sighs* See you in the new year my devoted readers!
