It's Killing Me to See You This Way

Alec woke to agonizing pain. It was centered in his chest, where he'd ripped through his flesh with the jagged glass from the clock. He'd passed out shortly after having done so from blood loss and he'd hoped with all his being that he'd be out long enough for Magnus to find him. What he wouldn't have given to wake up to those cat eyes and gentle kisses. Alas, it was wishful thinking. He was instead waking up to Maureen's child-like face full of anger that only a demon could muster on such petite features.

"What the hell was that Shadowhunter?" She hissed slapping him further into alertness. "What did you think you were doing?"

Alec blinked looking around some, he was in the torture room. He let out a groan and watched Maureen's small mouth twist into a grin. "I'd be careful how you spend your smiles blood sucker, you don't have many left." He managed to get out, doing his best to channel his inner Jace.

"Oh and why is that?" She asked, almost sweetly.

"I know what your rune was doing bitch. I just summoned a very pissed off Warlock and a few very pissed off Shadowhunters. I'd get my ass moving if I were you."

She smiled wider and he felt a stab of further pain run through his chest. He had to grit his teeth to keep from crying out. With a quick glance down he saw her toying at the torn flesh with her fingers. She noticed him looking and took pleasure in shoving her fingers into the wound. This time he couldn't keep his cry of pain behind his teeth. She moved closer to him, caressing his chest now as a lover might and putting her lips to his ear.

"I'm not afraid of your big bad Warlock, Alexander." She whispered, the seductive tone she was taking sounding odd in her young girls voice. "I want him to find you. As a matter of fact the faster he comes the happier my Master will be." She drew back from him, running her blood covered fingers across his face and through his hair.

"What are you talking about? Why are you doing this?" He asked for what had to be the millionth time since she'd taken him. "What do you want with me?"

"I can see why Bane is drawn to you Alexander. You are so very pretty. Maybe if you behave I will make a pet out of you." She said almost absently, "And it isn't you I want Alexander. You being so pretty is merely a bonus."

"I don't understand-"

"Of course you don't you fool!" She hissed, her voice venomous as she shoved her fingers into his open wound again, digging around as though trying to pull his heart out with her bare hands. "You don't seem to be getting it! This isn't about you, you stupid arrogant Shadowhunter." She shouted over his screams. "You all are the same, you always think its all about you and your stupid divine right! I'm older than your entire race boy. To think that I, in all my power, would want some simple little fool. That my master would hunger for a Shadowhunter whose just barely come of age, who doesn't even so potential! If I wanted a damn Shadowhunter I'd have taken the one with Holy Fire running through his god forsaken veins, not some black haired, freak who'd rather lay with men."

As she spoke, Maureen climbed atop him and grabbed his face with her bloodied hands, forcing him to look at her. "You are nothing Alexander, except bait."

"Magnus." Alec whispered instinctively, realizing now as she spoke what he'd done.

"You are leading him to his death Alexander."

"He wont do it. He'll figure you out. He isn't stupid."

"Oh he will come Shadowhunter. He would go to the ends of the earth for you, and when my Master asks for what he wants, he will give it gladly if it means saving you."

Alec tried to shake his head, but she held him still. She opened her mouth to speak again but they were interrupted.

"The Warlock and the Shadowhunters have broken in Ma'am."

Maureen smiled again, baring her teeth. She quickly got up from him and straightened herself out. "Good. Send for the Master and give them good sport so no one becomes suspicious. Kill the Shadowhunters as you like, but remember no real harm is to come to the Warlock."

"Yes Ma'am."

She turned back to Alec now and gave him a sweet smile. "The fun is just beginning Alexander."
