Episode 6: Chris McLean and the Three Teams
"Last time on Total Drama Underdogs, the contestants got seriously wet as they tried to avoid water soakers from Eva, Brick, and Rodney. Rodney kept spraying girls until he finished the challenge by getting Trent. Brick drenched most of the contestants, and Eva had a score to settle with the duo that made the trap hole: Amy and Scarlett. Thanks to B and Dawn, the last ones that weren't soaked, Team Revenge won another challenge, and Team Pahkitew ended up going to the bonfire ceremony. Where Scarlett got the boot because of past actions that her team couldn't seem to overlook. What rivalries will be prevalent this time? Will Team Pahkitew be able to solve their issues? And will- holy guacamole!" Chris looked at the screen on his computer. "The gems in the Gem Cave are actually worth something? No way!" He looked into the hallway next to the room. "Hey Chef! Scrap the next planned challenge, I have something even better in mind!"
What he didn't know was that Fang and Sasquatchinakwa were outside the room's window and when they heard the news, they grinned deviously with greed.
"What will the surprise challenge be? How much cash can I get for the crystals from the Gem Cave? Find out right here on Total Drama Underdogs!" Chris finished the intro excitedly.
(cue theme song)
Another night had fully risen on Pahkitew Island. Contestants were asleep, the lake was calm, and nocturnal animals were out and about. Something unordinary happened as well.
A small plane flew over the island. It looked in bad shape and was one of those small planes meant for about four people. The side door opened and a person stood inside with a parachute strapped on. As if waiting just for the right moment, they stood for a few seconds before jumping out of the plane and diving down through the sky. They fell for a short amount of time when they finally pulled the cord on their parachute and gently descended towards ground. Their target: Pahkitew Island.
The person landed in a clearing on the island took off their helmet and parachute. Removing these allowed a better picture of a short girl with brown hair in a long braid and braces on her teeth; she also wore a purple tank top with jeans. Observing the island she was on, she widened her braces-filled smile creepily, not to mention insanely. She was Leslie and she was on Pahkitew Island. On Pahkitew Island with a mission.
All was quiet in Team Pahkitew's treehouse. Ella appeared to hum in her sleep, Sammy slept peacefully like dreams were the only place where she could escape her sister, and Amy slept with her back facing Sammy across the room, probably with the intention of not waking up to see her in the morning. As for the boys, Beardo had drool dangling over the side of the bed sloppily, Rodney apparently snored, and Topher seemed to be dreaming well.
"Oh sure Producers, I'd love to host Total Drama for the rest of its series…" Topher mumbled in his sleep with a smile. As Leslie checked out the treehouse, she had to raise an eyebrow at the kind of dream he was having.
Once she was done scoping out the treehouse, Leslie went to Team Revenge's cave. Dawn was in a meditational sleep at the cave's entrance like normal, Staci was sprawled out on the cave floor, Sam and Dakota were on opposite sides of the cave, and Brick had subconsciously grabbed onto B's foot sometime in the middle of the night. Leslie smiled slightly at the sight of Brick and B, it wasn't exactly what she would've liked, but it was close enough.
It took longer than she expected but she managed to find Team Wawanakwa's hut a while before sunrise. She peered through the hut's entryway to see the team sleeping. Katie and Sadie were simultaneously snoring like usual, Trent was sleeping next to his precious guitar, Eva slept with a flat expression on her face, Tyler and Ezekiel both had their respective headwear covering their eyes to keep out any light, and Noah slept with himself distanced from everybody else in a corner of the hut.
Noah… he looked so cute when he was sleeping. Though, to Leslie, he would look even cuter if a certain brown-haired geek was up next to him.
Leslie yawned and rubbed her eyes. "I need some sleep… and some NoCo." She walked away from the hut, and went to find a place to catch some sleep. Step two of her plan would have to wait until after she rejuvenated herself.
After Leslie disappeared from the hut's view, Noah stirred in his sleep and woke up, sitting up quickly for once. Glancing around, he saw nothing out of the ordinary. He could have sworn he had a really creepy feeling just a moment ago, like he was being watched. Getting over it, he shrugged and laid back down to sleep again.
Night shifted into day a couple hours later. Interns quickly ran around, scrambling for last minute preparations; this went noticed by the contestants going around collecting breakfast.
Dakota awoke groggily, sitting up before stretching her arms and legs. After her whole body came to life, she glanced at the half empty cave. B, Dawn, and Brick were definitely absent, probably gathering up some food for breakfast, and Staci, Sam, and she were the only three remaining in the cave. Speaking of Sam, she glanced over at her sleeping boyfriend with slight concern.
(Confessional- Ever heard of Leslie before?)
Dakota- "These last few nights, I've been avoiding sleeping next to Sam because I didn't want the same thing to happen again like before. Though, in all honesty, I slept better on Sam's stomach than I do on the cave floor. His belly is like a cushy pillow, or something."
(End confessional)
Walking by Staci, Dakota nudged her with her foot. "Staci, wake up, it's morning." After saying that, she moved over to Sam.
After Dakota nudged her, Staci snapped awake rapidly. "My great-great-great-great-great-great-great uncle Steven invented the front door!"
Dakota ignored Staci's random outburst and kneeled down to Sam, caressing his cheek. "Wakey, wakey, Sam. Another day, another challenge."
"Five more minutes, Mom, about to beat the final cup in reverse mode on Dario Cart 9…" Sam mumbled in his sleep.
"Sam, wake up." Dakota said again, to make her point, she kissed him on the cheek.
"Yellow fireball!" Sam's eyes opened instantly and started to become aware of his surroundings. "Huh? What? Oh, back in the cave. I was just dreaming. Morning, Dakota!" He greeted, his eyes settling on her form.
"Morning! It looks like B, Dawn, and Brick are gone so they might be back soon with breakfast."
Sam got up and rubbed his back. "Cool, I guess there's nothing to do but wait then."
Dakota nodded and they stared at each other lovingly until Staci piped up to say, "My great-great-great-great-great grandma Elizabeth invented waiting. Yah, before her, everybody was impatient with each other. I heard it was not fun. Hehe!" Staci giggled at the thought.
"Um Staci," Dakota broke gaze from Sam to turn her attention to the chatty liar. "Your stories are great and all but why don't you go out and see if you can find one of the others. They might need help bringing the food back to the cave and you've got wider arms to carry it with."
"Sure, I can do that. Maybe when we get back, I can tell you guys all about how my great-great-great-great…" Staci's voice faded as she walked out of the cave and into the forest, letting Sam and Dakota sigh in relief.
Rodney searched high and low; he searched every beach, checked every kind of flower, and even looked up in the trees. As hard as he tried, he couldn't find another gift to try and give Ella, the last crush he hadn't attempted to give a present to yet.
"Grr! Come on! I need something!" Rodney exclaimed in frustration.
Ella walked back to her team's treehouse sadly with a bucket of water. "I'm getting water. It's not making me any sadder. I tried to do what Samey said. It didn't work out, and I've been thinking about it ever since I went to bed. Why couldn't I vote with her and Amy could've gotten one vote more. Just what am I supposed to do? Will this game have a happily ever after? I really hope everything turns out for the better." Sad with herself, Ella sighed and sat down on a rock to take a break.
The woodland creatures could feel her sadness and they came over to comfort her.
The affection from the animals got Ella to giggle softly. "Thank you all, I needed that very much."
(Confessional- Ella's not happy?)
Ella- "I'm really wondering if I made the right choice in my vote last night. It's just that twins are supposed to be the closest human beings on Earth. They were born at the same time, and they might or they might not look like each other so that must mean something. What ever happened to Amy and Samey?"
(End confessional)
Noah had himself situated in an open, peaceful clearing and opened up his book. He already had breakfast this morning so he might as well get some reading done before Chris announces the next challenge. The bookworm had gotten into where he had left off for a moment before his peace was interrupted.
"Morning, Noah." Staci greeted as she walked into the clearing.
Noah sighed and tried to stay focused on his novel. "Oh joy, it's you."
Staci sat down next to him regardless of the tone of his voice. "It's a little odd finding you here. Funny thing, my great-great-great aunt Melanie invented running into people at odd times. Yah, before her, everybody always knew where to find each other."
"I'm sure she did." Noah remarked while still trying to tune her out.
"Oh, so you believe me? That's great, most people think I make up stories about my relatives. Sort of like how people think my fifth cousin third-removed is loony, but he's actually just eccentric."
"Yeah, that's great." Noah turned the page.
"Anyway, while I'm here, do you want to hear stories about my relatives? We should have a little while before the next challenge."
"That sounds about as nice as listening to Izzy talk about all the places she and Owen have sucked face." Sarcasm dripped through his answer.
"Okay! Where do I start? I know, how about how my great-great-great…" Staci took his answer as a 'yes' and began to tell lie after lie. While she talked, Noah read his book with one of his eyes visibly twitching.
(Confessional- Should've probably been more clear with her)
Noah- "So while I tried to enjoy myself with my book, Staci sat next to me telling lies for two hours! It was like she didn't have an 'off' button. She probably doesn't have one at all."
(End confessional)
"Challenge time! Meet me at the common area and then I'll take you to the actual challenge site. If you're not a Pahkitew Island contestant, I doubt you could find the challenge location on your own." Chris called to the teams over the mic. Sammy stopped picking berries, and Beardo popped his head out of a bush nearby with his afro covered in twigs and leaves; they looked at each other wondering what Chris was up to.
Twenty minutes later, the teams stood in front of Chris at the entrance of a cave.
"Originally, I had a different challenge in store for you, but after coming across some inspiration, this opportunity was too good to pass up."
"Is the inspiration you leaving? That would make good inspiration for me." Noah quipped, making Eva smirk and the others laugh.
Chris glared at Noah and took a deep breath. "Because I'm in a good mood right now, I'll choose to ignore that remark. I'm sure everybody knows the Pit from last season's pit cave challenge. For those of you that don't, watch the episodes! You should know this stuff. Anyway, one of the teams went through a cave full of pink crystals that they weren't supposed to take. Suffice to say, someone snagged one within 30 seconds so they were chased out by Bling Bear."
"Jasmine told me Shawn took one to give her as a present." Sammy stated for clarification.
"Yeah, it was him. Recently, I found out that the gems down there could actually be worth a bit of cash."
"Aren't those artificial like the rest of the island?" Topher asked the host.
"Nope, we originally found those and since they weren't worth much at the time, we decided to use them. Now that they have actually good value, they would make a lot of cash if appraised and sold. So, today you guys are going mining for them. Behind me is the tunnel that was supposed to be the Pit's exit in the original challenge, but since the teams were too stupid enough to actually cross it, it will act as the entryway and the exit for this challenge." Chris motioned to the cave behind him. "It's actually simple: get down there, collect the gems, and get back here. The team with the most gems will win. Before I forget, since Team Revenge won the last challenge, they'll be getting a large sack to haul their gems in. Team Wawanakwa came in second so they get a handy dandy duffel bag. Its disadvantage to the sack is it won't hold as much. Team Pahkitew, you get squat and you'll have to carry what you can in your pockets and in your arms." Chef handed out the sack and the duffel bag while Team Pahkitew groaned in discontent. "Now get going!" He pulled out his air horn and sounded it, sending the contestants running into the cave.
Nearby, Leslie peeked out from behind the trees where Chris and Chef weren't looking. "Thanks for announcing the challenge, Chris. Now I know exactly where half of my beloved is."
(Confessional- Who let this one in?)
Leslie- "I'm coming, Noah. Then I'll take you off this island and we can make my dreams finally come true. They must happen!"
(End confessional)
The three teams stopped not too far inside the cave. The reason for that was there were three different tunnels. "Seriously? Chris neglects to mention there are different paths again?!" Noah exclaimed in annoyance. "This is just like Egypt."
"Just like, how are we supposed to know which direction to go in?" Katie asked Sadie.
Dawn placed her hand on the cave wall and closed her eyes to concentrate for a moment. "Though the signal's strength isn't strong, I'm getting the feeling that the fastest way to the gems is down the middle tunnel."
Sam chuckled. "Well you know what they say, cut out the middle man."
"Down the middle path then!" Dakota commanded the team and they ran into the middle one.
Brick started to get nervous as they went further in. "Okay, it's getting darker. I really hope that it isn't pitch black even farther down the line."
Ella looked to Sammy. "Which way should we go? Chris indirectly told us that the tunnel would take us to the Gem Cave so no matter which way we go, we'll get there."
"Each tunnel must have some obstacle to get through it. I was in that challenge and each tunnel we went down led to another tunnel with another obstacle." Topher assumed.
"Considering I was almost voted off the other night, I believe I should get to pick which tunnel we go down." Amy stated to her teammates.
Rodney smiled in despite of what Amy had done to him. "That's a great idea. I second Amy's idea, and let her decide." Perhaps she would love him after that.
Sammy sighed in acceptance. "Alright, which one?"
The older twin spun around to get a look at the tunnels. "That team of losers went down the middle tunnel so let's not take that one. Since my beauty mark is on my right cheek, let's take the tunnel on the right."
Team Pahkitew went down the right tunnel, leaving Team Wawanakwa in the cave. Humming in thought, Ezekiel glanced at the others. "Process of elimination eh?"
"Makes as much sense as any of the other ways we could think about it." Tyler commented on the homeschooled boy's idea.
Team Pahkitew stopped running down their tunnel and continued walking instead. Their narrow path appeared to get wider as they entered another cave. Amy was the first one to walk in and the first two steps inside, she slipped and fell. "Ouch!" She cried on her butt hitting the floor. Feeling an odd texture on her hand, she held it up to see what was on it. On her hand was a substance she was familiar with. "Is this grease? Oh my gag! What is this doing here?" The older twin got up and Rodney quickly got to helping her clean herself up.
"It's not just where you fell. Look at the rest of the cave, the floor is covered in it." Ella pointed out the rest of the cave to the team.
"Since grease is so slippery, that must be why Chris had it put here." Sammy observed and Beardo nodded in agreement with her.
Topher mused, "Huh, if I were Chris, I would've gotten something like that giant spider costume in season four and have somebody control it to keep the team that went through here from moving on. Is grease really the best Chris can do?"
Amy glared at the aspiring host. "Shut up, you might give Chris ideas."
"I'm just saying." Topher responded.
(Confessional- Memories of grease)
Topher- "The grease worked for the obstacle course last season. I just don't know if it's the best obstacle for getting through caves you know?"
(End confessional)
"It looks like the other side of the cave we need to get to is over there." Rodney pointed out a tunnel around a curve in the cave.
"What if we danced across the grease? Perhaps grease doesn't slip up dancing." Ella offered. To test her idea out, she pranced around on her tippy toes and went out onto the grease. After a few moments of being stable, her feet slipped from under her and she face planted into the grease. "Never mind, it does make dancing slippery."
"We could slide across. Our feet can't get out from under us if we don't move them much." Rodney offered another idea like Ella's. Testing his idea, he stepped back a few steps and dashed forward, sliding one foot in front of the other successfully as he glided across the cave. "Hey, it's working! Wah!" His idea looked halfway there, but he didn't stop sliding until he crashed into the wall opposite of where the team was standing and fell on his back.
Amy huffed and folded her arms. "There is no way I'm going through there. My cheerleading uniform cannot get grease on it again."
In thought, Beardo stroked his beard until he froze and smiled. "Ding!" Like a light bulb appeared over his head, Beardo quickly worked on executing an idea of his own.
"What's he doing?" Sammy asked as she watched the human soundboard work.
Topher watched him with the twins oddly. "Looks like he's using his afro as a mop."
The human soundboard had himself bent over and he swished his head side to side; his hair soaked up the grease and cleared a path for them to use. He continued this motion until he reached the other side and gave his team an all-clear.
"Way to go, Beardo! Great idea!" Sammy cheered for him as the others voiced their approval.
(Confessional- Three cheers for having a lot of hair)
Sammy- "That was so smart of Beardo to use his hair like that. Team Maskwak really should've kept him on their team last season. If I was on their team, I would have."
Beardo- He dances around while making party music as a way of saying 'nailed it!'
(End confessional)
Team Revenge found themselves enveloped in complete darkness. "I was right, it was going to get darker." Brick whimpered.
"Brick, it's not even that bad. We're all here together, we'll be fine." Dakota said to the cadet.
"Hey, anyone think it's pretty cool that we can see each other's eyes in the dark?" Sam asked his teammates.
"I think it's funny. The dark is one of the few things that people in my family haven't invented since it's a natural thing." Staci commented.
Dakota glanced off to her side. "Dawn, you and B are really quiet. Are you both okay?"
Dawn nodded even though no one could really see it. "We're fine, Dakota. We're just trying to figure out how we're supposed to get through this cave."
"Okay, that's good. Now we just… Sam, now is not the time to be snuggling up against me." Dakota scolded her boyfriend.
"Um, Dakota, I'm not even touching you." Sam replied back.
"Have I mentioned-" Staci started but was cut off.
Dakota stopped Staci before she finished. "Yes, Staci, you told us already."
"Guys, B found something." Dawn announced to the group.
A light flickered on in the cave and the source was B holding a flashlight.
Sam chuckled appreciatively as B shined the flashlight on him. "B, you found a flashlight, cool! Where'd you find that?"
B directed the light to a group of rocks. He handed the flashlight to Dawn and went over to the rocks, miming the action of feeling around and picking up the flashlight.
"That's great and all, but can someone seriously see who or what is touching me?" Dakota pleaded awkwardly.
Dawn pointed the flashlight in Dakota's direction to find out the answer.
"Brick!" Dakota cried out indignantly.
Brick turned out to be holding onto Dakota worriedly because his fear of the dark was so great.
Sam frowned at the cadet. "Dude, hands off my girl!"
The cadet opened his eyes to discover that he was holding onto Dakota the whole time and let go while jumping back a few feet. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know who I was clinging to and it was really dark down here! I'm really sorry, Dakota!"
Dakota sighed in grief. "It's fine, just please don't do that again."
"What's this?" Staci said as she walked over to a set of rocks and reached down behind them. She held up a key. "A key? What's a key doing here? Ooh, this reminds me of how my great-great-great-"
"There must be a keyhole somewhere. Perhaps it will open up an entrance to the Gem Cave." Dawn quickly scanned the flashlight around the cave walls until she found a little hole. "There!"
B snatched the key from Staci and ran over to the keyhole, inserting it and turning the key to the right. A loud moan occurred as a door frame slid open, revealing another tunnel.
"There's the exit! And I think I can see light. That must be the Gem Cave, come on!" Brick dashed forward and the others followed him.
(Confessional- Shine)
Brick- "Why did my fear have to be the dark? Why couldn't it be something like needles? At least those actually inflict legitimate pain."
(End confessional)
Sadie walked through the left tunnel with her team. "What do you think the pink crystals look like? I bet they look totally pretty."
"They might. I just don't get why Chris switched the challenge from whatever he had in mind to mining for these. Are they really that valuable?" Trent answered the larger BFFFL.
"Considering Chris finds it worth making us do, probably." Eva stated gruffly.
"Look, there's another cave." Katie said, pointing ahead.
The season one team walked into the cave and when they all got no further than five steps in it, a large, mutant-looking spider jumped down to the ground.
"Giant spider!" Katie and Sadie screamed simultaneously, grabbing hold of each other in panic.
"I've seen big spiders eh, but I think that's the biggest one I've ever seen!" Ezekiel commented as he leaned back away from the large arachnid.
Tyler was nearly on the verge of chewing his fingernails to keep himself from actually screaming. "It's going to tangle us up in its web and eat us!" He yelled as Trent bumped into him.
"You are all idiots. It's just Izzy in the spider costume she used during season four." Eva said bluntly. Everyone, except Noah who was not even the slightest bit terrified, stared at her in confusion. "What? Izzy showed it to me and told me about it. We're friends even outside of the competition, I'm not that solitary."
Looking between the spider, Eva, and Noah, Tyler straightened up in an attempt to not appear intimidated. "Uh, yeah. I knew that too."
Noah walked up to the spider nonchalantly. "Izzy, you can drop the act. We know it's you in there. Save us the trouble and let us through." The spider stared at him for a few seconds before glaring and tangling him up in spider silk. "Okay, the fact that she just bound me up in spider silk shows that she's having a little too much fun right now." Unable to break free of the silk, Noah fell to the ground.
"Alright, Izzy, prepare for a time-out." Eva rushed the spider and started beating it up. Her team watched in shock as Eva proceeded to brutally beat up the spider, pounding it here and there. She finished it off in a minute and a half.
"Um, a little help here?" Noah quipped to his teammates, alerting them to the fact that he was still tangled up. Katie and Sadie, no longer fearing the spider since Eva took it down, went over and helped him out.
"Ha, you didn't scare us that much, Izzy! What do you have to say to that eh?" Ezekiel boasted as he walked up to the broken down spider while Eva calmed herself down. He pulled the head of the spider off and it revealed the head of a brown-haired female intern. "What? Yo guys! This isn't Izzy."
"So, if this isn't Izzy, then who is she?" Trent asked as he walked over to see the person controlling the costume.
Eva huffed gruffly, taking the spider head from Ezekiel. "Who cares who she is? I prefer Izzy as the spider than this nobody. This one doesn't even make a good spider." She placed the head back on the intern's costume. "Now that that's out of the way, come on, we should be close to those gems."
"And here I thought the interns couldn't get lower." Noah quipped as he walked past the spider costume with a glance, following the rest of his team through the tunnel.
(Confessional- Spider Izzy is better than Spider Intern)
Trent- "I feel really bad for the interns sometimes. They get no respect, and they're always forced into doing seriously messed up stuff only to get hurt in the end. I've had my share of bruises but I've never gotten a pounding from Eva."
(End confessional)
Team Revenge entered the cave full of pink crystals with awe, the first team to arrive at the location.
"Wow… these look totally sweet! I want some; they would make good jewelry to add to my wardrobe." Dakota mused, looking at a couple near the team.
"Looks like we beat the other teams here, which means we get first dibs." Sam noticed the other teams' absence.
B reached inside his jacket and pulled out the sack they were given by Chef. Brick took the sack from him as he held it out. "B's right, team! We need to start collecting crystals. Go!" The cadet ordered and everyone spread out to collect.
"Look, there are pickaxes down here. My fourth cousin twice removed invented them. Yah, before him, everything in mines had to be taken out by hand, and it was really hard." Staci picked up one of the pickaxes that were in the cave, and started axing away.
"Staci, no disrespect, but less chatting and more mining!" Brick called from his work space.
At that moment, Team Pahkitew emerged from their tunnel. Beardo somehow managed to get the grease out of his hair so his hair was now dry.
"Team Revenge is already here, and they're getting a lead on us!" Sammy cried out in distress after seeing the other team.
"We can still win. We just need to collect more than they can. Let's go!" Ella tried to cheer up her team. Seeing she was right, the rest of the team agreed with her and got to work.
Amy picked up a pickax, and noticed Ella was taking one as well. "I'm warning you, you better not start singing that stupid short person mining song from that old Flicnay movie."
Ella lifted up her pickax and smiled at Amy. "As much as I'd like to, I can't. Chris won't let me sing during challenges, remember?"
"Just don't start alright!" Amy snapped at the princess before starting her digging.
Team Wawanakwa arrived after that, and they saw that the two other teams were already there.
"The others beat us here eh. Eva, you took too long beating up the spider." Ezekiel frowned at the female bully.
Eva glared back at him. "Shut it, Homeschool, and start grabbing crystals. We have a challenge to win."
"Come on!" Katie called their attention away from each other and they all went mining.
Everyone rushed around, digging out crystals, tossing them in their team's sack or duffel bag, and fighting over crystals that two seemed to have found first.
Rodney was hard at work for a couple minutes until he stared at the crystals. "They're so beautiful. They're like the rings in a jewelry store." He stared at them for another moment before something clicked in his brain. "Jewelry… that's it! Girls like jewelry and these crystals are like jewelry. I'll take a couple for Amy and Ella. Jasmine and Scarlett too even though they're not here." He pulled out some decently sized crystals and put them in the pockets on his overalls, happy with his idea of a gift.
"Got some!" Katie and Sadie squealed, each carrying arms full of crystals over to Trent. He opened up the duffel bag, and they dumped their collections inside.
"B! This is a good one!" Dawn pointed eagerly to a crystal, and B dug it out with ease.
Beardo was collecting crystals in his arms and his hair. The smaller ones, he put in his giant afro, and the bigger ones, he carried in his arms.
"I don't think I can grab much more of these!" Topher exclaimed as his arms were nearly full.
"Then dump the smaller ones for the bigger ones! The bigger ones will probably get us the win." Amy hollered to him.
Sammy shook her head. "No! If you have pockets, put the smaller ones in those! We can't risk losing any!" She called over to him.
Amy heard the contradictory order, and found that Topher was listening to her. "Why you little-" The older twin growled.
Sam dumped his collection in his team's sack and grinned at Brick and Dakota. "I'd call this a gold mine, but it's full of crystals."
"Fascinating fact: Mining was invented by my great-great-great-" Staci started to launch into another ramble nearby.
"Staci, please, focus!" Dakota begged the liar.
(Confessional- Gems all around)
Sam- "Staci's nice and all, but she should really stop telling those lies. They're getting old really fast, and I think she's running out of relatives to talk about."
(End confessional)
Leslie walked past the spider-costumed intern. "Huh, spider costume…" She gave it a glance, thinking a spider costume might come in handy some other day.
In a part of the Gem Cave that the teams hadn't checked yet, Fang and Sasquatchinakwa tossed crystals into a crate-like box. When their claws/hands were empty, they went back to collecting crystals. A monitor lowered into the room, and Chris's image appeared on the screen. "Hey! There you are!" The two creatures paused in their collection and looked up at the screen. "What do you think you're doing?! Those are my crystals! I don't recall letting you go down there, and getting some! You two stop digging right now, and get your sorry butts up to production camp!"
The two creatures glared at him, and folded their arms.
"What? Wasn't I clear, move it!" Chris commanded them. Fang bent over to pick up a big stone, and chucked it at the monitor. The stone broke the monitor's connection, not to mention the screen, and the whole thing crashed to the ground. "Not the monitor!" Chris exclaimed from the production camp's computer after the connection severed.
"Hey, did you guys hear something?" Tyler asked the others in the cave and walked over to where he heard the noise. Looking into the cave neighboring the main one, he saw Fang and Sasquatchinakwa looking at him. The jock screamed, running away from the sight of them. "That land shark thing and the sasquatch are down here." He told the others that were staring at him.
"What?" Ezekiel walked to where Tyler previously was and looked in. "Hey, they are down here eh. And they've got crystals, cool! Hey guys, can we take those?" He asked the creatures, pointing to the box of crystals. Defensively, Sasquatchinakwa let out a roar, and he and Fang ran towards the homeschooled teen. Ezekiel screamed for his life and ran away from them. Fang and Sasquatchinakwa followed him out into the main cave.
Everyone screamed and the whole cave was sent into a panic from the attack. The contestants ran, and hid as the creatures chased them around.
"I don't want to be eaten by a land shark!" Katie cried as she embraced Sadie tightly.
"Me neither!" Sadie cried and embraced her best friend equally as tight.
"Let's get out of here!" Dakota screamed to her teammates.
Brick nodded in agreement. "I'm with Dakota, grab whatever crystals you can, and let's go!" He grabbed his team's sack, and made to leave.
"You're all a bunch of pansies. We outnumber them,, and out-strength them. We can take them down easy!" Eva snarled, not backing down against the creatures.
"Are you insane?! We can't fight these monsters!" Amy yelled out incredulously to Eva.
"You don't know that. We just have to show these bozos who runs the place." Eva retorted before Sasquatchinakwa ran towards her and she lifted him under his stomach and flung him over her. This action only made him angrier.
Noah popped up from behind a rock formation. "Eva! This isn't a matter of strength. This is a matter of getting out with all of our body parts still intact."
A voice Noah never heard before sounded out. "Found you!"
"Huh?" Noah turned around only to be tackled to the ground by Leslie.
"Thought you could lose me down in these caves, but you were wrong! Nothing can stop me from getting my NoCo!" She declared giddily while embracing the bookworm.
"Who the heck are you?!" Noah questioned his attacker.
"I've got all I can carry. Oh, sorry my friend." Ella ran through the cave with her arms full of crystals and ducked when Fang leaped at her only to miss her and crash into the wall behind her.
"I've got all I can too." Topher announced from his position in the cave.
"Then let's leave while we still can. Team Pahkitew, back to Chris!" Sammy called out and everyone on the team went for the exit.
While Eva kept Sasquatchinakwa busy, Team Revenge grabbed all they could.
"We have all we can carry. Team Revenge, we're done here. Mission accomplished!" Brick called out once the sack was full.
"See you freaks later!" Dakota waved to Fang and Sasquatchinakwa tauntingly before leaving.
Before he left, B noticed the crate, and since he had extra pockets in his jacket, he ran back there, and stuffed some extra crystals in his pockets while carrying the rest in his arms.
"We need to leave too." Trent said to the other members of Team Wawanakwa.
"Hey, guys! Forgetting about someone!" Noah called out. His team directed their attention to Leslie, who was dragging Noah away.
When Leslie noticed the attention was on her and Noah, she picked him up off the ground, and hugged him fiercely. "Back off, he's mine!"
"Let go of our friend, whoever you are!" Sadie ordered Leslie.
"Yeah, what Sadie said." Katie added, "By the way, who are you?"
"You don't know who I am?" The Noah hugger asked them. "I'm Leslie, the world's biggest fan of NoCo! Ring a bell?"
Noah froze after hearing 'NoCo' but something else occurred to him. "Wait, Leslie? I think I know you. You're that weird psycho who posts stuff about Cody and I on the Internet!"
"You know who I am? That makes me so happy, Noah! What do you think of my work, do you love it, or do you adore it?" Leslie asked with a hint of a squeal.
"I hate it, and you should stop that entirely. Seriously, what you put on there is creepy on so many levels." Noah deadpanned before looking to his team. "Can you guys help me out now? My arms are starting to fall asleep, and I'd like not to snark at anybody."
"Is a snark a-" Tyler asked confusingly before Noah cut him off.
"I swear if someone makes a comment about a hamburger between two hot dogs..." Noah warned them.
"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around with a hot dog and two hamburgers?" Leslie commented to Noah suggestively.
"Shut up!"
Ezekiel ran forward determinedly. "I'll save you, eh!"
"My Noah!" Leslie held Noah close with one arm, and backhanded Ezekiel across the face, sending him to the floor off to the side.
"Ouch, eh… that really hurt…" Ezekiel rubbed his hurt cheek. The rest of Team Wawanakwa stared at Leslie shockingly, except Eva who was still fighting a two-on-one battle with Sasquatchinakwa and Fang.
(Confessional- Leslie has quite the arm)
Ezekiel- "That Leslie girl really slapped me hard." He said as he rubbed his cheek.
Trent- "What is it with guys like Noah and Cody having the most insane fangirls? Do we all have someone that admires us that much?"
Leslie- "I won't let anyone stop me from getting what I want. Once I have Noah, I'll go after Cody next. You can't keep an eye on him forever, Sierra!"
(End confessional)
Katie and Sadie pulled on Noah's legs while Leslie pulled on his arms. "Give him back! We need him on our team!" The wonder twins told Leslie simultaneously.
"Well, I need him for personal reasons so let him go. He's mine!" Leslie retorted as she pulled.
Ezekiel, Tyler, and Trent watched the struggle, the former still caressing his cheek and the latter two waiting for a moment they might need to intervene.
"You know," Tyler said to the other two, "I think I'd never see the day where girls fight over Noah."
Noah shot a look at him from between the fighting girls. "I heard that!"
"We're already behind the other teams. We might lose the challenge if this goes on any longer. Eva, you almost done with them yet?" Trent called over to the female bully.
Sasquatchinakwa collapsed on the cave floor and Fang landed on top of him shortly after. Eva patted her hands against each other to clean them off of invisible dirt. "Just finished."
"You think you can make this girl over here let go of Noah." The musician gestured to the Noah tug-of-war.
Just then Eva noticed Leslie's presence. "Hey! What do you think you're doing with him?"
"Making my dreams come true that's what!" Leslie shouted at her.
"Okay Lunatic, I'm giving you three seconds to take your hands off of him and scram or else. 1." Eva folded her arms.
"Fat chance!"
"2!"
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Trent warned Leslie.
"No!" Leslie screamed.
"3!" Eva roared before rushing towards Leslie. With a tackle, Eva shoved Leslie away from her teammates and Leslie's grip on Noah released. The two girls tumbled to the ground and started fighting. "Grab the crystals and go, I'll meet you up above ground." Eva said over her shoulder.
"Gladly! Move, people!" Noah got up from where Leslie had let go of him, and joined his team in grabbing their duffel bag and their extra crystals before heading through the cave exit.
Leslie tried to push Eva off of her. "Get off of me, Noah's escaping!"
"That's the point!" Eva growled back.
Chris returned to the entrance that he had sent the contestants down and waited for them to arrive. Shortly, he was joined by Team Pahkitew.
"Hooray, we're the first ones back." Ella cheered happily.
Team Revenge came soon after them. "We're here, Chris, and we have a lot of crystals." Brick announced upon arrival.
Everyone except Eva on Team Wawanakwa returned with their crystals as well.
"Hey Wawanakwa, you're missing one of your members." Chris pointed out.
Trent looked at Chris awkwardly. "She's kind of busy at the moment."
"Not anymore." Everyone turned to see Eva coming out of the cave tunnels, dragging a dazed Leslie along with her. "It didn't take too long to take this girl down."
Chris pointed to Leslie with a confused glance. "Um, who's that?"
Eva dropped Leslie unceremoniously in front of Chris. "She's just some crazy chick that probably got onto the island. She was trying to take Noah for some creepy fantasies, or something."
Leslie sat on the ground, wobbling back and forth. "Should've gotten Cody first…" She finally fell over unconscious.
"Uh, Chef, we have something that needs to be taken care of." Chris beckoned Chef over.
"Girl looks crazy." Chef said as he picked up Leslie and took her away.
"Believe us, she is." Noah confirmed Chef's suspicion.
"Anywho," Chris brought the attention back to important matters, "It's time to see which team grabbed the most gems. I have a scale here. Dump all your crystals on this and we'll find out the weight altogether. The team that grabbed the most wins and the team that grabbed the least loses. You're your crystals are weighed, toss them in this other crate that will transport all the crystals for selling. Team Pahkitew, since you guys showed up first, you're up first." He indicated the scale next to him. The team dumped all their crystals onto the scale and the scale quickly calculated the weight. "150 pounds, nice haul!" Team Pahkitew cheered after hearing the grand total for their team. "Team Revenge, you're up next." The team loaded theirs onto the scale once it was cleared of the other team's. "174 pounds, you guys beat Team Pahkitew!" Team Revenge cheered while Team Pahkitew groaned in disappointment. "Team Wawanakwa, your turn." Nervously, the team loaded their collection onto the scale and watched the scale total their weight. "152 pounds! Team Revenge wins first place again, and Team Pahkitew loses again!" The two teams' responses were the same as before while Team Wawanakwa sighed in relief. "You guys did me a huge favor today. I'd like to reward you all with this being a reward challenge, but we have to eliminate somebody so Team Pahkitew, you're voting someone off. Team Revenge, your dinner is from Snack Junction, the only restaurant you'll want to catch the train for. Enjoy!" Team Revenge returned to their shelter happily while the other two teams walked back to their respective shelters.
(Confessional- Now Chris is going to be even more stinking rich)
Noah- "I really owe Eva today. It's because of her that psycho wasn't able to kidnap me. Whatever Eva wants to do next is okay with me, just as long as it doesn't involve me getting too physical."
Rodney- "My team lost again and now we're going to go from six to five. It doesn't matter because now I found the perfect gift to give to a girl." He pulls out some crystals that he didn't hand over to Chris. "Wish me luck."
(End confessional)
Amy angrily paced around the ground below the treehouse. Her team was going to a ceremony again, and because Scarlett was eliminated, chances were she was next, and there was no way she was going before Sparemy.
"Amy!"
Amy turned around to see Rodney approaching. "What do you want?" She asked icily, not wanting to be bothered.
He took a crystal out of his pocket. "I… gift… elimination tonight… love me…" The farm boy blushed profusely as he held out the crystal for Amy to take.
She took the crystal and examined it for a moment. Rodney watched her with interest in what she had to say about his gift. A moment later, she glared at him. "You didn't put this on the scale? We could have used this, you idiot! Thanks to you, we have to vote someone off again! Rah!" She threw the crystal off in a random direction, and then punched Rodney in the gut. "You're so lucky I want Sparemy gone first." The mean twin stomped off as Rodney recovered from the punch.
Topher and Beardo, who were in the boys' side of the treehouse, watched the exchange and glanced at each other before retreating inside.
Ella hummed a happy tune as she entered the clearing. She noticed Rodney standing by himself. "Good afternoon, Rodney. How are you?"
"Oh, I'm as fine as I can be. Amy didn't like my gift, and…" Rodney finished recovering and trailed off in his answer when he noticed Ella, one of his crushes on the show. "Oh, um… uh…" Remembering he still had more crystals, he pulled one out and held it out to Ella. "Gift… pretty… pink… you… safe…"
The fairytale princess took the crystal and looked at it momentarily before breaking into an even bigger smile than before. "This is beautiful! I've never received a jewel as a gift before. It's so pretty, and it matches my skirt and blouse. Oh, thank you so much Rodney!" Ella reached up on her tip toes, and curled her arms around Rodney's neck in a hug.
Rodney's cheeks really turned red as she hugged him. "No problem… sweet… sack… happiness…" Ella let go of him.
"This was really kind of you. I don't know how I can ever repay you." Ella said back then gasped as she lit up with an idea. Standing up as tall as she could, she kissed him on the cheek, and Rodney let out the littlest breath of surprise when her lips touched upon it. She lowered away from his cheek after a moment, and gazed at the crystal in her hand. "I've got to go show this to Samey. Bye-bye!" The princess started walking away and after she got a few feet from him, one of her shoes slipped off. "Oops!" Ella turned around to retrieve the shoe.
The country boy shook himself out of his trance and reached for the shoe as well. "Here, let me get that for you." He picked up the shoe, and approached Ella. Kneeling before her, he took hold of her shoeless foot, and slipped the little shoe back on. Gazing in awe of his action, Ella let her mouth fall open. It was just like what Dave did, like a fairy tale.
"Thank you." Ella thanked him as Rodney looked up to meet her eyes. They stared at each other for what seemed to be a minute until they broke contact. Bringing herself back to reality, Ella looked at the crystal again. "I better go show Samey now. Farewell, Rodney." She turned around and continued to walk away. Behind her, Rodney watched as she left, and reached up to feel the cheek Ella had kissed. Watching her and feeling her kiss, he smiled in bliss.
(Confessional- You go, Country Boy)
Rodney- "Ella kissed me. She kissed me! No girl I've ever fallen in love with has kissed me before! I think she's the one! I found my perfect girl!"
(End confessional)
Noah and Eva went foraging later that day, and Noah felt like he had to say something. "Eva, thanks for saving me from that Leslie girl today."
"Yeah, yeah," Eva shrugged it off, "That's just what friends do, don't they?" She asked in her tough tone.
"That they do. Say, what do you suppose Chris is going to do with her anyway?"
"I don't know and I don't care. If she shows her face around here and tries to nab you again, I'll just deck her."
"Sounds like a plan to me."
Night fell and the bonfire was lit. Team Pahkitew sat there and Chris stood at his oil drum podium. Chef and Leslie were also present. Though Leslie was a bit restrained and by restrained, tied up with rope.
"Let me out of this! I need to go get Noah and Cody, then I can make them do stuff for my personal pleasure." Leslie tried to get out of the rope.
Chris and the team looked at her with concern, mostly for their own safety being near her. "She's really freaking me out; but there's the elimination ceremony to take care of. Go and vote, we'll deal with her after that."
(Confessional- Leslie can't vote)
Amy- "Rodney really screwed up, but this could be an opportunity to eliminate Samey. She tried to lead the team, and failed. Everyone will probably blame her."
Topher- "Rodney was the cause of our team losing? I guess I'll vote for him then."
Rodney- "I definitely can't vote off Ella. She's my one true love now. I'll vote Topher."
Sammy- "I know Rodney gave Ella that gift, but Topher and Beardo came up to me before we went to the bonfire, and told me how Rodney had kept crystals, and tried to give one to Amy. I don't know how many crystals he kept, but whatever the amount it was could've saved us from elimination. Sorry, Rodney."
(End confessional)
"Okay, whoever does not get a marshmallow is gone, and out of the competition. Marshmallows for… Ella… Beardo… and Amy. The rest of you got at least one vote. Samey, you're safe too." Chris announced as he passed out marshmallows.
Amy snarled in a fit after Sammy was declared safe.
"Rodney, I heard you kept some crystals, and gave them out as gifts. Girls might think it's sweet, but I think that those are my crystals, and they should be sold, not given away. Topher, I have no idea why you're down here, but part of me hopes you're gone. The last marshmallow goes to…
…
…
…
"… Topher!" The host tossed him his marshmallow.
"Yes!" Topher cheered as he caught his marshmallow.
Rodney frowned sadly. "What? But I? This can't be happening."
"Sorry to say, but the votes have been cast and you got the most. You're out, dude." Chris apologized with no degree of guilt.
The country boy sighed.
"I'm sorry you can no longer be here, Rodney." Ella said, placing her hand on his shoulder.
Looking at Ella, Rodney smiled despite the situation, and faced everyone else. "You know what? It doesn't matter that I lost. Today, I found my true love."
"You did?" Sammy asked him.
"True love?" Topher followed up.
"Who?" Amy inquired with a hint of skepticism.
Rodney looked at Ella again. "Her."
Noticing he was meaning her as his true love, Ella appeared pleasantly surprised. "Really?"
"Yeah," Rodney nodded and his blush returned. "I… not good with words… please… my girlfriend… here…" After a lot of mumbling, he pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket, and handed it to Ella. "Read… better at writing… so much to say…"
Ella looked at the paper before looking back up at him. "Thank you Rodney, I'll be sure to read this right after we're done with the ceremony."
"I… miss… so fast… you… date…"
Chris appeared to be annoyed and shouted at him, "Get on with it!"
Rodney sighed, knowing his time was up. "Bye." He said to Ella before walking over to Chris and Chef, leaving Ella to watch him leave her. One of her rare moments, she almost looked unhappy instead of happy as he got further away.
Chris glared at Rodney. "Not so fast, hand over the rest of the crystals you have first." The farm boy fished the crystals he still had out of his pockets and handed them to Chris. "That's better, into the sack you go." Rodney complied and got into the Sack of Shame. While Chef closed up the sack, Chris turned his attention to Leslie, who was still trying to free herself from her binds.
"So, just what are you going to do with her?" Topher asked the host with the most, indicating Leslie.
"He better not put me in that sack unless Noah, Cody, or preferably both are in there." Leslie argued as she attempted to wiggle out of the rope.
Chris shook his head. "Actually, I have a better solution."
Minutes later, Chris stood near the Cannon of Shame. "Good thing I checked that this was still working. Send a mind blown psycho off with a bang."
Leslie glared at him from the other end of the cannon, her bindings removed. "This isn't over, Chris! I will be back and I will get Noah and Cody. I will have my NoCooooooo!" On her last word, Chris hit a button on a remote and Leslie was sent flying through the night sky, screaming the name of her favorite ship.
"I've only known her for one day and she's crazier than everyone that's been on this show combined. Will we have to take restrictive measures to make sure she can't get back on the island? Does everyone seriously have a crazy fan like Noah and Cody do? Can Team Pahkitew catch a break? Find out next time on Total Drama Underdogs!" Chris concluded.
Before the episode ended, Team Pahkitew returned to their treehouse only to see Dawn waiting for them there.
"What are you doing here?" Amy asked rudely.
Dawn didn't appear fazed by her tone. "My team is celebrating our third victory in a row and I realized something. Ever since World Tour, there hasn't really been time for us contestants to bond with each other. On behalf of my team, we invite you all to join us tonight."
Team Pahkitew glanced at each other before Sammy spoke up. "That sounds nice, Dawn, but just how are you celebrating?"
Dawn's lips curled into a smile. "A bonfire at the beach." The camera faded to black.
This is long overdue. I didn't post this chapter before because I like to be writing a chapter ahead of the one I actually post when it comes to competition fics, and I put this off for so long because I hit a roadblock at the next challenge.
The original challenge I had for that episode just wasn't working out, and so I thought of a new one to replace it, but even that one's not working so I have no idea where to go from here.
This chapter also contained a guest appearance by the character of Leslie, a creepy fangirl created by ThePessimisticRainbow, a friend of mine who I asked permission to use Leslie in this chapter. So, thanks to ThePessimisticRainbow for that, and I hope they're okay with Leslie's appearance.
Now with that out of the way, this chapter's elimination:
19th: Rodney
For Rodney, my main goal was to find him a love interest since he's all about the love, you know? So I wanted to give him a storyline that revolved around him trying to find the perfect girl for himself. He had zero chance with Scarlett, Amy's too cruel of a person for him to be with, and why he can't have Jasmine is obvious. In fairy tales, mostly the ones I've seen adapted into movies, it's always someone outside of their social class that ends up being their true love and I wanted to parody that with Rodney, a farm boy, being a true love for Ella, a princess.
20th: Scarlett
21st: Geoff
22nd: Anne Maria
23rd: Leonard
24th: Justin
25th: Blaineley
Remaining Contestants:
Team Wawanakwa: Eva, Ezekiel, Katie, Noah, Sadie, Trent, Tyler
