"Do you really think they will love our performance?" Sebastian asked while he walked alone with Ciel to the contest.

Ciel stopped and said, "Of course, you already properly ordered me to the morning. Nothing will get in your way of winning the competition now."

"I know, but what if it doesn't work?"

"It will," Ciel said in a slightly stern voice," There's no need to underestimate me."

Sebastian played with the guitar pick that he brought along," Sorry, but it just wouldn't be good if they found out."

"Even if they did find out, they wouldn't believe it, so you're safe," Ciel reassured him.

"Yeah I guess you're right."

Everyone back stage either tapped their pencil of foot to the beat of the song or paced around the room. Sebastian tried not to focus on The Reapers song to avoid making comparisons, but he couldn't get the tune out of his head. The song had a fast guitar beat, and the lead singer, Ronald had a nasally voice that no one hear while he talked. This song was going to be stuck in his head for days. When the song was over an usher lead them on stage to get ready for their performance. It didn't take long to set up the stage so there stood there for a minute before it was time. This time Ran Mao was in front accompanied by Sebastian. Angelina and Lau were more the back and Grell stood on a riser in the center. She wore a black and white striped shirt with a red rose of in, with baggy red pants. The screens displayed an early morning sky and Ran Mao started the song off with a rough piano sound

"I'm dying I'm dying I know that I will die soon" Some more music plays.

"Why does this have to happen to me?

Why does a beast who does nothing but eat and cause trouble

get to live peacefully

and someone who has potential like me is dying every single day?" Grell sang.

The chorus hit and she sped up her piano playing. The screen changed to look like the afternoon.

"I don't know I don't know what I should do with the rest of my life. Can someone here help me out?

Sometimes I like to think that I can help other people and be important and remembered,

but I think the best decision would be not to care. No one would care if I died and I think that is good,

but I want my life to be worthwhile.

I don't care what the doctors say, I'll find a way even with this sickly shitty lifestyle," Grell continued. More glitchy music played, and Grell, Sebastian and Lau did a little hip hop dance. Grell and Lau were rocking it while Sebastian's movements were awkward, but that was part of his charm.

"I will do anything that I can do to prevent that disease from killing you

it's not fair I tried to help and look what I get I catch that terrible disease too

what should I do?

im dying every day, faster than you.

I don't know I don't know what I should do with the rest of my life

Can someone here help me out?

sometimes I like to think that I can help other people and be important and remembered

but I think the best decision would be not to care. No one would care if I died and I think that's good.

I want my life to be worthwhile-oh what i would do for real smile.

Day by day my soul is fading away

from this place that I hate

but I don't wanna leave you.

So that is why I am taking you too

you don't deserve this.

Don't worry there's nothing you will miss.

I spent every day trying to find a cure

But nothing seems to work.

What did we even live for?

Every day just felt like one gigantic chore.

Is there I way that I can do more?"

The performance earned a standing ovation from both the audience and the judges. Once the applause died down the first judge began to speak," That was amazing. I-I can't even find anything wrong with it. It told a classic story, but it wasn't cliché or at least it didn't seem cliché," He said.

The next judge wiped tears from his face," I'm honestly so emotional right now. The story was beautiful, the stage was beautiful. Your voice was beautiful," He said motioning to Grell," I'm sure many people can relate to this story in some way despite not being dead yet."

Everyone laughed.

"I also loved it. Everything, the music, the lyrics, your singing, and the stage setup. Nothing was random, it wasn't gimmicky. You also told a story, which I loved. You're a great actress Grell! I felt sorry for the character even though she wasn't real. Like how do you do that?" She looked at her fellow judges," Do you know?" She paused, and both of them shrugged. "I think you have a chance of winning this thing," The pale brunette said.

Some cheery music played, and a dark guy in a nice, gray suit stepped up on stage," Well those were some good comments from the judges. How do you fell about your performance?" He said and put the microphone to Grell's face.

"Well I think we did a good job, and we're glad that we made everyone feel symapthy for the character," Grell said.

The host pulled the microphone away," Later we'll see if they were the one who won the competition, but next we have a band of slightly older women who based their song on a personal story about death. Stay tuned and see you after the break."

The band moved backstage to the waiting room, all waiting anxiously while Sebastian secretly remained calm, "Don't worry about it, I'm sure we'll win," He assured Angelina, who was pacing around the room.

"You can never know who's gonna win this thing," Angelina replied.

"She right, don't get too cocky," William said.

"No one asked you your opinion," Sebastian snapped.

William rolled his eyes," I just wanted to give you a piece of advice, that's all."

"Well the judges did seem to like their performance. They didn't say anything wrong about it," Ronald pointed out.

" Yeah, but the lyrics didn't always fit the song, the voice didn't seem to belong to the person singing, and those noises sounded terrible like they were trying to be creative but failed."

Ronald looked down for a moment," You know what I think you're right."

"See? They didn't go as good as they think they did. Don't get your hopes up Sebastian. You wouldn't want to disappoint yourself," William said, and he walked away, followed by Ronald.

"What is their problem?" Grell asked.

"William just hates me," Sebastian said.

"Why?"

Sebastian shrugged, "I don't remember, I was probably better than him at something and he got jealous, and this is how we are now."

The host comes inside the room with the group of girls who just went," Okay, it's almost time for the judges to announce the winners, so get ready to come out on stage."

"This is just great," Lau muttered. This was quite unusual for him to actually be worried about something. He was usually pretty chill, and oblivious to what was going on.

Odd.

Everyone got up on stage, and even Sebastian could feel the tension. What if Ciel's brainwashing thing didn't work? Well, Will pointed out that there was some flaws the judges didn't notice, but it could still ware out. Wait did that mean that it didn't work? Gosh I wish we practiced more.

"Okay, first we're going to announced the bottom two."

Finally.

Some dramatic music played for an unnecessary amount of time before he said," The band in last place is." He paused. "Chaotic Riddle." It was the team of older women. They talked about how life changing this competition was and how they're glad they made it this far, despite not winning. Their responses sounded so cliché and it was just annoying. The other group, "Love In The Daylight" came in third place, but Sebastian didn't even bother listening to what their lead singer had to say.

"Okay so the final two remaining are The Reapers, and Ivaylo! Find out who will win after the break."

"Why do they have to do this to us," Angelina complained.

"I know can't they just tell us who the winner is?" Lau said

"Apparently not," Sebastian said while writing a text to Ciel," Hey, did you do the thing?"

"What thing?" Ciel texted back.

"The thing that makes people us unconditionally."

"Of course, I keep all my promises. Don't worry about it," Ciel said.

"Thanks."

"What for? I'm just following your orders."

"Not just that, but for all the things you've done for me."

"No problem, I will continue that XD."

"Hey Sebastian stop texting, we're about to go on in two minutes!" Grell said.

Sebastian put his phone in his pocket," Really? Uhh, I'm so nervous," he said despite all that Ciel said. For all he knew demons weren't even required to keep promises by their little demon law, but Ciel has done many things that Sebastian didn't even tell him to do. Maybe he does care about him.

"I know, but we'll find out who wins soon."

"Okay everybody, it's time to get back in your proper positions on stage," The host announced. The two bands got in their formations, and waited for the show to continue.

"Welcome back, now we are going to find out who won this competition," The host said. They wasted some time by showing some sob stories.

Come one just cut to the chase.

"And the band that won is," He paused again.

This tactic was losing its affect.

"Ivaylo!"Grell and Angelina screamed and Lau looked relieved. Ran Mao kept her stoic expression as always, and Sebastian widened his eyes in awe. They actually won! Ciel's trick worked. The host pointed his microphone toward Grell, "How does it feel to actually win this thing?"

It was obvious that Grell was holding back tears," I'm so proud of my band mates because I couldn't do this without them. "

Everyone applauded and the host said," Well that's it for tonight. If you think your band has talent then check out and see if you could win a million dollars and a record deal."

So now we had a job that wasn't shitty before graduating high school. We're awesome!

After a few minutes of standing there, they were finally able to go back stage.
