ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER...

DISCAIMER:

NCIS: Los Angeles & Characters do not belong to me. The parts from Recovery and Frozen Lake do not belong to me.

SUMMARY:

This story starts out with Kensi and Deeks at Dinner at the end of recovery. I am going to put in my own idea about what happened after the end of Recovery and then skip to a few months later when Kensi returns from the assignment.

How I think things should turn out...

CHAPTER 7: THE WEEKEND...

MARTY'S P.O.V.

KENSI'S HOUSE...

Once inside I closed the door and then turned around pulling Kensi into my arms...I kissed her as I let my hands drift down to her waist.

"Welcome home, Princess..." I said with a smile and even though Kensi smiled back...

I could tell something happened on the classified mission and I wanted to ask her. I know she had asked me to be patient with her, but...

"...Are you okay?" I asked finally unable to help myself. "I'm fine...good. Why wouldn't I be? I'm home..." Kensi replied.

"Kens, you just said fine...what's wrong? Did something happen?" I asked as we walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Yeah...I-I saw Jack." Kensi told me and I could see the tears she was trying to hide.

I have to admit I was shocked and never saw that coming.

"Jack? As in..." I began. "Yes, my ex-fiancée...at first I thought he was the White Ghost, but I talked to him. Jack moved on years ago...he got married and had a child." Kensi didn't finish as she buried her face in my neck.

"It's going to be okay, Kensi." I said just holding her and kissing the top of her head. "H-how will it be okay? I loved him and he left me to start a new life without me..." Kensi muttered her face still against my neck.

"Because things usually turn out okay in the end, why didn't you just tell Granger or Hetty? I'm sure they would have taken you off the assignment." I said and Kensi pulled back looking at me as she tried to wipe the tears with the back of her hand.

"Because I think this was a test and if I would've said no I wouldn't do this assignment...you and I would have been split up as partners for good." Kensi said looking at me.

"I don't care if they would have split us up as partners, I would have gladly gone back to the LAPD. I even told Hetty she could send me back to the LAPD if you were sent on the mission because of me." I told her and Kensi face turned to a look of shock for a moment.

"You did what?" Kensi asked. "I went to Hetty and asked to her send if I was the reason you were sent on the mission, then I offered to go back to the LAPD so she could bring you home." I repeated.

"I care if we get split up as, Partners...Marty I don't want to break in a new partner and you are one of the only people I trust. It's hard getting a new partner and learning to trust that person to have your back." Kensi explained.

KENSI'S P.O.V.

"It took us a while to really trust each other, didn't it?" Marty inquired with a smile and I thought back to the beginning of our partnership.

"You drove me crazy and at first I was worried I couldn't trust you to watch my back, because you never seemed serious about much...except flirting with every female you met." I told him trying to hold back a smile.

"Yeah, but with you it was different and you know it," Marty shot back. "Really...how was it different?" I inquired and I watched the smile on Marty's face fade.

"Because even if we didn't know it that day at the MMA gym had this game going between us, the bantering, the teasing and you flirted with me to, Fern..."

Marty said then putting a hand to my cheek; he leaned over and pressed his lips to mine.

I put my arms around his neck and wove my fingers into his hair.

"...How about we take this to the bedroom?" Marty asked as I opened my eyes to look in his.

We had been apart for months and only had the one night together before I was sent on that classified mission...but looking at him now I could see how much he wanted to be with me.

I didn't say a word as I got up and started to head for the bedroom, smiling when I felt him behind me.

KENSI'S BEDROOM...

I stopped just after we entered the room, with Marty kissing the side of my neck and felt his fingers slide up my leg under the hem of my dress.

I turned around so I was facing him and Marty's hands drifted to my back to unzip my dress as I undid his pants.

Pretty soon no clothes stood between us and we made our way to the bed.

THIRD PERSON P.O.V.

HALF AN HOUR LATER...

"I'm glad you're home Kensi, you have no idea how I missed you. Did you miss me?" Marty asked rolling on his side to face Kensi.

"I guess so." Kensi said with a smile. "Really, you guess so? We finally admitted there was something between us before you left and you guess you missed me?" Marty asked moving as close to her as he could with a mischievous look in his eyes.

Then before Kensi could do anything he started to tickle her sides...

"Ma-Marty stop," Kensi yelled through laughter as she tried to stop him, before he grabbed her hands in one of his own, while still tickling her with the own. "Nope...not until you admit you missed me and not just guess." Marty told her with a smile.

"Ne-never..." Kensi said defiantly still laughing. "Then I won't stop." Marty replied. "You think so, huh? Just think about my knee being near a sensitive spot..." Kensi warned and Marty looked at her. "You wouldn't hurt me there..." Marty said looking at her with wide eyes.

"Do you want to find out?" Kensi teased. "Just admit you missed me and I'll let you go...I promise." Marty said still grinning at her. "If I did that it would go to your head." Kensi replied.

"So you didn't miss me at all?" Marty inquired pretending to look hurt. "Okay, yes...I did miss you." Kensi admitted at last Marty let her go.

"I knew you missed me. Even when you we were on separate vacations and you said you enjoyed your vacations without me...I bet that a day didn't go by that you didn't think about me." Marty said with a grin and Kensi moved so there was a little space between them, before hitting in the shoulder.

"You really know how to ruin the moment, don't you? Except this wasn't a vacation, Deeks...it was a job." Kensi reminded him. "I know...I should have thought about what I said before I spoke." Marty said giving her a peck on the lips before lying back down and pulling her closer to him.

Kensi laid her head on his shoulder and now long after they both fell asleep.
