"Are the rumors true…are you a super saiyan?" Vegeta asked hesitantly.

Bardock was sitting on the the edge of the medical cot; his lack of armor revealed many of the battle scars that he gained throughout the years of constant combat. It just made Vegeta more aware of how far the low class had surpassed the elite in some aspects. He turned to face his prince and looked him dead in the eye, "Yes. I have achieved the transformation."

"Show me." Vegeta needed to see this form himself, he had to know.

Without a word, Bardock stood up and walked outside to the training grounds. For once, the training grounds were devoid of activity; it was as if they all had known something big was going to happen today. He stopped in the middle area and turned towards the prince, "It takes a great deal of concentration. You need to feel anger and despair like you've never felt before and then get pushed beyond it."

He began powering up; the ground around him began shaking as he returned to his legendary form. Vegeta could only stare in awe at what he was seeing. With one final scream, Bardock transformed agin. It was getting easier for him to do so. Vegeta tried to compose himself, "I can't sense energy like other beings but even I can see how you killed Frieza with this form."

"I don't think it'll be enough, I had heard rumors a few years ago that Frieza could transform more than once and that his power doubles each time he does it. I only allowed him to transform once and he nearly killed me even with this power."

He powered back down, "Just imagine what his full power would have been like and we still have his family to worry about if they find out!"

"Then we all need to become super saiyans." Vegeta made it sound like it was an easy task.

"It's not as simple as you make it sound, I'm not even sure what made me trigger it, I couldn't have been the first saiyan with feelings like that."

"No, but you're one of the strongest of this generation, maybe it has to do with how strong you are."

Bardock stared out into the sky, "Maybe…but we all need to get stronger in the event that Cold or Cooler comes to challenge us."

Five years later:

Vegeta stared out at his city; residing it were fifty thousand saiyans training diligently to keep up with the Planet Trade forces. Frieza's disappearance was made known galaxy wide but no one knew what had happened to him. Vegeta had assumed it was because he made an off-the- records visit to his planet. The saiyans weren't really considered suspects because of their generally low power levels as a whole. Vegeta smiled smugly because their average power level had increased from three thousand to about six thousand. His own power was stronger than his father's now. 'I wonder if he would have been proud or threatened if he could see me now?'

Vegeta quickly shook his head, there was no time to think about that. He heard footsteps approaching him from behind; he turned and saw that it was Zorn. "What is it Zorn?"

Zorn bowed, "I just wished to inform you that Bardock's second son, Kakarot, will be returning from his mission shortly."

Vegeta nodded and began heading down to the landing pad. With Bardock being a super saiyan, he and his kin became household names. Kakarot was sent off on his infant mission shortly after the whole Frieza incident. Originally Bardock didn't want him sent off but Vegeta reminded him that they needed to keep the charade up that they weren't up to anything. He was interested to see how he progressed; some of those super saiyan genes had to have rubbed out on at least one of his kids.

When he got there, Bardock and Raditz were already waiting. Raditz was close to Bardock's height now (something Vegeta was slightly envious of) and his hair had grown with him. While still considered to be on the weak side, Raditz had made good gains in power over the past five years. Bardock stood like a statue with his eyes closed; he hadn't grown in power like he wanted but it was only because very few people could challenge him. Nappa, Zorn and the Prince were the only ones who could come close but once he transformed, all bets were off. Raditz turned around in surprise, "My King, what are you doing here?"

"I am interested to see how your brother has come along from his mission. Then his real training can begin."

Raditz nodded and turned his gaze back towards the sky. He hoped his brother was mentally stable. Though it was a rare occurrence, some saiyan children went mad due to not being socialized properly. The sudden contact with a bunch of people usually ended up setting them off and it is quite the handful to deal with a feral saiyan child. Sometimes the child had to be killed because they couldn't socialize properly. It was cruel even to Raditz but it couldn't be helped. It was their way of life.

An alert sounded over the PA system that a space pod was in the atmosphere. Bardock opened his eyes and started at the faint glow in the sky. A few minutes later a saiyan pod crashed into the landing pad with a boom. Raditz walked closer only to have the door of the pod shoot out towards him. "What the hell?!" Raditz yelped as he narrowly dodged the hunk of metal.

A blur shot out of the pod and began throwing punches at Raditz who managed to block most of them but a few slipped past his guard. Raditz released some of his energy in a shockwave and set the assailant flying backwards. The blur turned out to be a miniature version of Bardock dressed in crudely made clothing; it was Kakarot. He didn't seem all the way there though; his pupils were dilated and his was frothing at the mouth. Before Kakarot could react, Raditz lunged forward and rammed his knee into his gut. His eyes rolled into his head and he collapsed. Raditz wiped blood from his lip, "The damn kid is feral! What the hell kinda planet did you send him too?"

Vegeta shrugged, "I'm not entirely sure, what I really want to see is his power level."

He clicked his scouter and waited for the numbers to pop up. His eyes opened in surprise, "He's five hundred! Seeing as how he was only a one when we sent him off, this is most impressive."

Bardock had a shadow of a grin on his face. I knew I was right about you Kakarot; you're going to be something special.

Raditz crossed his arms and had a bit of a frown. So he managed to jump up to five hundred at that age? When I came back from my infant mission, I was barely a hundred. What does that say about me then?

His thoughts were interrupted when he saw another ship descending from the sky. It looked like a Planet Trade cruiser; the type that Frieza and his kin used. Vegeta's hair stood on end, had they finally figured out what had happened? He looked over to see Bardock already slipping into his transformation.

"Bardock do not transform! We don't know what they want yet and I'd like to avoid a bloodbath."

Bardock reluctantly power down and crossed his arms as the ship touched down. When the door opened, he was surprised to see Turles with a small boy behind him. Vegeta didn't feel much better; he didn't trust that man in the slightest. Turles looked like time had not been kind to him; he was now sporting a goatee and a large scar over where his left eye should have been. His skin also seemed paler than he previously remembered. The boy seemed off, but not in the case of Kakarot's feral state. He just seemed blank. The most noticeable thing about the boy was the strange black headband on his head with a purple gem in the center.

Vegeta stepped forward, "What is it you want Turles?"

Turles opened his mouth and spoke but Vegeta wasn't ready for the words.

"Cooler is on his way here."

Merc here, I just want to apologize for the wait. I know I always say I'll update soon and believe me, I really want to. Adjusting to back home life has been an interesting experience; not to mention I have an internship that is pretty much a full time job. But Mondays and Wednesdays are slow there so I'll be able to write more (that's actually where I finished this). I once again thank you all for your patience.

Power Levels:

Bardock (Base): 26,000

Raditz: 2,500

Vegeta: 18,000

Kakarot: 500

Nappa: 12,000

Zorn: 18,000

Broly: 10,000*

Turles: ?

I'm sure a lot of you know why I put an asterisk by Broly's power level. Turles' power will remain a mystery for now. As for Bardock, since his transformation would mop the floor with anyone. It was hard to train himself properly. Even training in just his base form is sort of limiting himself. If someone can bench press 300 lbs, it's sort of pointless to try and just bench the bar with no weight (I hope that made sense). For those wondering, Zorn will get a bit more screen time down the line but he is not the focus of this story.

Also...KAKAROT has arrived! Tell me what you thought of it.

Until next time.
