Chapter 7

Morning of the 3rd day, we arrive at the entrance of Ancient Orchid City. Chen Lin Jian called the members for meeting and discussion how to approach and search the city for treasure. Nie Li gave his opinion which got accepted after some little objection from Shen Yue, this guy got tense a little when he saw his family member didn't arrive.

I would have killed him if only Nie Li is not here, why? He might take the blame after Shen Yue died.

"Du Ze, here, you're good at using crossbow right? Here, some reagent poison for demon beast."

"Thanks"

Nie Li pass me a crossbow, bolts and some medicine that he made. It's good I can't take out the Goblin King's Sword in front of them, not now, I still don't have an interspatial ring for cover.

As our group walking inside the city some demon beast followed us, but didn't attack us. But as we walking deeper into the city the group of gorilla like beast, Giant Blue Armed Apes, getting bigger that they can flood and kill us, so before that happen some people in our group attack the Apes and Chen Lin Jian also ordered a full out attack.

'What the hell is wrong with these peoples, they can't even scratch the demon beast fur.'

The Apes are nimbler compared to their 3 meter tall look that you will assumed that they are slow. Some people tried using Crossbow but they can't even hit them.

'What's the uses of these guys'

I just shake my head and ready my crossbow, then.

Nie Li shoot his first bolt, which hit the Ape and paralyze it. Chen Lin Jian didn't waste time and rushed toward the ape and slay it.

'That guy called Chen Lin Jian really has some talent on him.'

But before I fired my bolt, I saw Shen Yue tried shooting an Ape, but the Apes dodge it. The group who's amazed at Nie Li's marksmanship almost burst out on laughter, but they got force to stop themselves because of Shen Yue's background.

Shen Yue who saw the expression of the people around him gritted his teethed and loaded another bolt and tried shooting again, this time he aimed at the Ape that was on air, he thought that the Ape will going to get hit, it just twist it's body and evaded the arrow. This time the laughter is getting louder, they almost can't stop themselves, but Shen Yue didn't give up and tried again, this time the bolt just flew from the crossbow weakly and stop half-way to its target. The crowd burst out on laughter and just forgets the background of Shen Yue, this also confused the Apes thinking what's wrong with these people that assaulting them.

But I don't have time for laughing when I saw Shen Yue aimed his crossbow toward Nie Li.

"Go on Shen Yue, try shooting it and I'll forget that you the son of Patriarch of Sacred Family."

I also aimed my crossbow at him too. I accidentally produce some killing intent which shaken Shen Yue.

By taking many lives, the killer gained the aura of beast which getting ingrained into his body unconsciously. Releasing Killing intent will make the opponent saw you as devil that slaughter lives just for entertainment and they can also hear the shout of the souls that you killed

Effect: 50% chance to stun the opponent that have weak Will for 2 seconds

Effect: 5% chance to make the opponent become crazy if their mind can't take it. Chances increase by 0.1% every level.]

Shen Yue's lackey tried to rush toward me, so I use the skill which stunned them and make them stay from where they are standing.

"Okay! Stop it right now!"

Chen Lin Jian tried to stop us, but Shen Yue just stands there shaking while his crossbow is on the ground.

"Du Ze, stop what you are doing right now. That thing called Shen Yue can't do shit about me"

This time I heard Nie Li voice and just aimed at some Ape, which got hit and paralyze. Other people rush toward it and kill it.

'What a waste of Exp, but I can't expose my strength to this guys and make them suspicious about me.'

The others got surprised that I can also hit the ape. Ning'er who in the side just smile at me, well she just need to stay put for now, because even she can't even do a thing to those apes.

"Sorry to bother you two, but it looks like you two are the only one who can take care of this current problem."

"No problem."

"I'm glad to help."

I keep firing bolts of arrow and making the apes fall to the ground and with Nie Li the progress on killing those Apes is fast. I'm slightly bleeding inside because of those tons of exp.

As the Apes getting thinned out, a terrifying roar sound from the other side of the City.

"It's a Spiritual grade demon beast!"

"What's its strength?"

"5-star Silver rank, almost into Gold rank!"

'Damn, that beast must be at lv31 and much stronger than a normal lv31 monster, which I'm sure I can't kill even now.'

I hold the hand of Ning'er and make her stay just beside me. Then a giant ape, bigger than normal, appeared at the top of some ruined building.

*ROAAAR!

The crowd got petrified by the display of power of the beast.

"Come follow me!"

Nie Li rushed toward the forest. His shout wake the others from their daze expression. I followed Nie Li toward the forest, pulling Ning'er with me.

"Du Ze, what should we do if those beasts got us cornered?"

"Don't worry that won't happened, the forest is big and we have many people in our group, we can just split up if needed also the apes are now few, they can't even surrounded us even if they want."

As we are running the Apes didn't give up and keep chasing us.

"Let's end it this shit here."

One person from Chen Lin Jian group suddenly rush toward one of the Apes and tried to kill using his claw, which he got after fusing from his demon beast.

"Support him!"

We left with no choice and fired toward some bolts toward those Apes, there are only 13 left with the leader of those Apes. I hit 4 of them while Nie Li hit 5, leaving only 4 and the big guy. I tried hitting the leader of the apes but he just evaded it, this give Nie Li some time to aim at the 4 Apes.

Now the leader is the only one left. The person who rushed earlier attacked again.

'What the hell wrong with that guy? Is he seeking death?'

*Bang!

He got hit by the beast punch, taking his life away. I saw that coming, not surprising. I tried hitting it with bolts again which make it back off again.

'Damn.'

"Let's split up the group and meet at the Military Ground."

"GO!"

The group scattered and formed smaller group, I go with Nie Li. In our group we have Ning'er, Ye Ziyun, Hu Yan Lanrou and some other people.

'Looks like I pissed the beast off.'

The Big guy chooses our group to chase. Having left with no choice I decide to risk it and stop to stall it.

"What are you doing?!"

"It's looks like that thing is aiming at me, you should guy go first. I will catch up toward you."

"No! If you're staying then I will stay here too, we have higher chance if we fight it together. Ziyun, Ning'er you guys go first!"

"Not happening Nie Li. You should go with them and protect them, I can take care of myself."

I stared at his eyes and just saw him nodded. He passed a satchel to me, which contained some medicine and escaping tools.

"Du Ze, I won't go. I will stay with you."

"Dummy little girl, just go. Trust me. Nie Li go now."

I just smiled at Ning'er and look at her teary eyes. They run toward the meeting place. Just at the time that I can't see them, the big thing drop to ground staring at me.

"You really are aiming at me."

I activated Heavenly Qilin and got myself covered with flames and thunder. Take out the Goblin King's Sword and activated the Heavenly Qilin Swordmanship, the sword slowly heated up until it look like it a sword that just taking out from the forge, it distort the air around it while producing some lick of flames from time to time, the sword blade is got covered with a thin blue sharp line, it was the concentrated thunder acting as the blade.

*ROOAARR!

The beast pounded it chest showing it might toward me, trying to intimidate me, which is not working. I use Rush toward it and hack sword toward it body, but the reaction of the Ape is quick, it block the sword with its arm. The sword, which I expect to cut its arm just left some small gush and burnt fur on its arm.

*ROOOOAAAR!

It was angered by what I did and tried to send a punch toward me with its free arm.

"Not a chance big guy. You already killed someone with that fist of yours."

I used Flaming-Thunder Ball and send it toward the Ape, resulting two explosions which stop it punch and I was send flying by the impact. It made some damage but it can be treated as a scratch.

'Damn, even if use all my mana I can't kill it. Time to run I guess.'

The Ape only stared at me getting wary by my weird tricks, which can scratch it even with our difference in power. I step forward once toward it, I saw the Ape's muscle tighten and ready to intercept me, but I turn around quickly and use Rush toward another direction. It looks like that it got surprised by my action, it just stand their dumbly for a while then roared and chased me.

I jumped tree to tree, evading it's some punch which can make a thick three become dust. Running for 5 minutes making me tired, dodging the ape's punch, sometimes send some Flaming-Thunder Ball toward it and use Rush as escape technique.

After a few seconds I saw and opening at my front, that can't be good, I don't have a chance escaping if we go toward there. But I saw a group of people wearing black cloaks with the symbol of Dark Guild on their back.

'Dark Guild! Just on the right time.'

I get some smoke bombs at the satchel that Nie Li gave me and hold it in my arms. I rushed toward the group which got surprised by my presence.

"Hey there guys! I have some present for you!"

The flames and thunder that covering me are gone when I appeared at their front, I absorb it into my body trying to hold it but it's like a rampaging dragon, wanting to come out. I throw the smoke bombs at the ground and it worked it magic, covering use with smokes.

I released the flame and thunder that inside me to run but It did something I didn't expect. The flames and thunder scattered, releasing the flames and thunder around me. The smoke got scattered and I saw the dark guild henchman is lying on the ground, they taken some damage from that form attack.

[By doing a certain action you gain Heavenly Qilin Burst skill]

By absorbing the scattered energy and hold it inside your body for a while, it began to multiply inside you which tried to burst, by releasing the energy again the result will be explosion that will scattered around you.

Effect: Stunned the opponents around you for 3 seconds.

Effect: Burn damage which reduce the opponents HP by 0.5% every 3 seconds, last by 60 seconds

Effect: The Heavenly Qilin Technique become undone and can't be used for 5 seconds.

I quickly throw another Smoke bomb the cover myself and use Sneak then rushed toward the side and hide from the eyes of Ape and Dark Guild. The Dark Guild guys tried standing slowly but what they saw when the smoke scattered is an angry big Ape staring at them. Looking for the guy that injured it and killed many of its kin. It didn't see the guy that injured it from the groups, angering it more and just attack straight toward the Dark Guild, which are still recovering from the sudden damage that they receive.

The Ape attack toward the Dark Guild resulted some of their men to die and some got seriously injured. The fight last for a while but the Ape got injured and escaped, while the Dark Guild don't have enough power to chase after it.

Du Ze who made the mess toward the two groups is currently walking slowly toward the meeting place while humming a song.
