A/N: Hello all! TGIF, long week at work, got this done though, lots and lots of ground combat. Chief's part in this is pretty short, but I promise the next one will have a nice long chunk dedicated to his and the others objective. Not much else to say on that note, so thanks for reading and don't forget to review/comment/question, I'll do my best to answer them. Cheers!

"This is Lima-3-1. Requesting CAS mission at grid 552 by 134, enemy gunships have us pinned!"
Lieutenant Karl Urdain was in a holding pattern over North America at 80km above the surface when the call from ground side Marines for close air support came in, it was exactly the situation he'd been waiting for.
"Affirmative Lima-3-1, Windfall on station for CAS, ETA 2 minutes."
Karl switched the channel over to the squadrons frequency at a thought
"Windfall flight, form up on me! Delta left formation, targets are airborne, weapons free!"
Affirmatives came across the board as the other four Longswords positioned themselves around their flight lead. Three of them moved to Karl's left and the fourth to his right, once in formation they were ready to follow their leader to the designated targets.
"Prep for Hypersonic redirect. Initiating burn now!"
The five Longswords fired their fusion torch engines to push their velocities to hypersonic levels so the scram-jets could reach full compression and output. The blast of firing a fusion torch in atmosphere sounded like a bomb going off as fusion temperature plasma was ejected into the atmosphere, pushing the aerospace fighter/bombers to mach 2 just as the scram-jets kicked in, pushing them further to mach 5 as they made a wide turn that brought them onto a vector for the target grid coordinates.
"Entering AO...now!"
A few tens of kilometres ahead of Windfall flight were a swarm of earwig like aircraft's that had a large propeller mounted at their backs, they were flying in a chaotic circle around a forest of highways that interleaved over and under each other, the Marines somewhere amongst the tangle of ferroconcrete and Hard-Light as the insect like machines rained DM pulses down on them from above.
"Mark your targets, and good hunting!"
The five Longswords split as they approached the swarm of 60 gunships, opening up on a different cluster each with their array of weapons. Karl opened up with his Hard-Light Emitter first, sending a multitude of pulses at the gunships, striking some and missing others as they weaved in and out his crosshairs. The gunships that were hit exploded in a short lived fireball that split the things in half, the two severed parts falling to the earth in a shower of fragmented armour and internals adorned with globules of molten metal that made each kill look like a steelworks idea of confetti.
The gunships reacted all at once, making neck breaking turns and flips to change their course so they could face the new threat in the skies, just as the squadron fired their L-AMACs sending streams of silvery streaks out at the insectoid aircraft's. The rounds smashed into their carapaces with enough force to completely knock them off course, and in some cases right out of the sky, as the rounds ripped chunks off of their hulls and shattered the spinning blades that kept the gunships aloft.
Returning fire at the Longswords, but not soon enough, as the human aerospace vehicles shot by at mach 5, a few of the pulses causing the Hard-Light barriers to flair up but not landing nearly enough to do any real damage.
"Get locks on a wide spread, switch to YUMIs on airburst for AOE fire!"
The members of Windfall flight made the concious thought of using their missile bay, and specifying the YUMIs with the thought. A small rectangle on the underside of the Longswords retracted as a carousel filled with missiles dropped down to reveal the deadly payloads they carried. In all the pilots heads, pings were going off as they got locks on a number of the gunships, and firing the missiles as each YUMI missile was given a target to chase down. The missiles launched as the carousel rotated after every launch, the missiles leaving contrails in their wake as they streaked towards the horde of mechanical insects, upon coming within 5m of their intended targets the YUMIs exploded into spherical slipspace ruptures that consumed them and effectively erasing them from existence before collapsing, leaving no chance of return. Gunships not entirely caught by the ruptures were left with rounded clean cuts that left them looking like something had taken a bite out of their bodies.
The Longswords screamed by the now significantly smaller swarm, the gunships shooting at their assailers in futility.
"Their down 39 gunships!" Karl's copilot called out
"Keep it up!"
Having made the high-G flips to reorient themselves, the Longswords fired their L-AMACs and Hard-Light Emitters from far out of the gunships engagement range, their targets exploding in showers of sparks and clouds of dark smoke before following their fallen comrades to the ground. The surviving gunships began to take fire from the Marines below as they fired their ARCs and MA7s as they were distracted by the deadly Longsword pilots. The last few gunships began to pull back into their FOBs defence range to avoid the others fates.
"They're pulling back ladies and gentlemen, Lima-3-1 the skies are clear!"
"Roger that Windfall lead, thanks for saving our asses!"
"You got it Lima-3-1, good luck down there. Windfall lead out. RTB for rearm double time!"
The Longswords returned to formation and angled up for space, returning to the ship whence the came.

"Arbiter, we've rescued the crews of 928 vessels."
The Arbiter acknowledged the news with a positive grunt
"Begin deploying our forces to assist the Humans on the surface, send it all."
"By your will Arbiter."
All over the Alacrity, Sangheili, Unggoy and Mgalekgolo armed and armoured themselves before rushing out of their barracks and armouries to their designated hangers where their transports awaited them. As the troop carriers finished filling up with their passengers, they launched through the Hard-Light barrier that took the place of hanger bay doors, and towards the thousands of different conflict zones spread out all over the Earth.
The Arbiter watched as his troops launched en mass to support the Humans in protecting their homeworld and to kick the so called 'Combine' off. He nodded to himself, flexing his mandibles momentarily before turning and heading towards the Fleet Masters quarters, so that he may prepare himself to fight along side all of the defenders of this planet. Before leaving the bridge the Arbiter issued his orders for his personal contingent of Sangheili, Unggoy and Mgalekgolo.
"Have the Kaidon's Ghosts readied, we depart in 10 micro-cycles."

Higgs had regrouped with his squad, they'd commandeered another warthog as the Gauss hog only had three seats, Higgs and Haley took the transport Hog despite Greg's begging to ride with them, who got stuck as Yussef's gunner again. Once they were all mounted up, they got their bearings and began to head for the target FOB, target Sierra, and had been enroute for 10 minutes, they were getting close.
"Anyone spot anything?"
"That'd be a negative."
"Roger, Greg, what's our status on support for taking this thing out?"
Higgs mentally highlighted the FOB, the action highlighting the other squad members own display of the FOB.
"We got two flights 'o Longswords and a HAC squad at our displosal, we just gotta mark the things we want to see go boom."
"Good, that'll make this a hell of a lot easier."
Haley was sitting in the back of the warthog with an XSAR-0, keeping an eye on the horizon when she shouted
"Pair of Armour Synths! 300 metres south-south-east at our 9 o'clock!"
Without warning, Haley fired the XSAR-0 at the knees of the Synths in an attempt to immobilize them, the report of the weapon nearly deafening Higgs, but only left a ringing in his ears thanks to his helm. Haley's first shot shattered the front knee of the machine, sandy brownish carapace and armour shattered like glass while synthetic muscle tore and hung loose from the now severed limb, as the stump pumped out its silvery-grey blood. The XSAR-0 cycled, and Haley fired again, slamming into the main body of the synth this time, poking a hole into its body, but not doing any outright critical damage.
Greg swivelled the Gauss gun towards the synths and opend up on them as well, aiming for the sensory area that appeared to be its face, if such a thing could be called that. The synths partner didn't take this well, as it turned itself slightly before launching its DM vortex at Higgs warthog, which pulled hard to its right as Higgs veered out of the artillery weapons round, the vortex just missing them while slowing them down some as the vortex pulled at their heels.
Yussef and Greg had gotten close to the two synths, Greg going for limb or centre mass shots now, as Yussef drifted by the pair no more than 5 metres away, the synths tracking the warthog with their DM pulse guns and firing as their shots lined up. Moisture on the warthog boiled while the metal clicked with the sudden heating and cooling of the vehicles body, the two ODSTs shields flared to protect their wearers, while Yussef threw a handbag sized pouch under on of the synths as the drift reached its closest point to the synths.
"Elif air ab tizak!"
Yussef floored the warthog and got a good few metres away before the pouch, which was filled with C6 handgrenades, exploded under the synth. The explosion ripped open the underbelly of the machine as it wailed in pain, it wobbled before collapsing in a pool of its own internals and blood.
"I swear to fuckin' god I am NEVER riding with you again!" Greg yelled out as shrapnel and DM pulses barely missed them.
The remaining synth was propping itself up on its stump as it tried to fire at the two warthogs as they criss-crossed around it. Higgs put his hog into a slide to give Haley a clean shot on the front of the synth, she not missing the opportunity as she took aim and fired at the DM pulse turret itself, boreing a whole into he housing of the weapon before making a messy exit wound on its way out. One of the barrels sputtered and died out just before the whole turret assembly grew white hot and exploded beneath its host, the blast rocketing through the body of the synth, and thus killing it.

Eric and his HAC squad had changed their course slightly, to meet what ever monstrosity the Combine had sent their way this time. The HACs crested over a large hill, standing upon it and looking down into a valley that stretched out before them. Near the middle of the valley, was a massive metallic arachnid,
almost as long as their HACs were tall.
"What the name of fuck is tha-"
The pilot of the Odin never finished, as the giant spider fired a beam right into the torso of his HAC, the barriers and shields flaring before shattering and exploding in a light show if sparks and blue fragments. The torso flashed white hot instantly after its defences had been blown away, giving the pilot no time to react before the HAC was blown limb from limb, the torso all but evaporating into nothingness while sending the legs, arms and head flying in different directions after being singed by the explosion.
The blast rocked the other HACs, causing the other two to shield their heads from the blast with their arms as one fell to its knee and the other onto its ass. Eric held his footing while using the giant plasma sword to block the blast in place of his HACs arm.
"Get up! Fire on that thing NOW!"
Eric not wanting the Combine heavy assault synth to recharge and pick a new target with its DE beamer, he jumped his HAC down the slope of the hill into the valley while using its right arm to stabilize and slow the slide and aiming the left at the machine before loosing a barrage of AMAC rounds into its face and legs. The synth shied away from the fire as it brought its front legs in to cover its head, the rounds slamming into them that caused cascades of sparks to fly out of the impacts.
The two other HACs followed suit and jumped down the slope while firing their own array of weapons, a Hard-Light beams striking out and slashing the legs of the synth, drawing a bright orange line across the front legs and dotting the head with the same colour as the beam passed through gaps in the legs. Eric's HAC had reached the bottom of the slope and had landed with a running start, sprinting at the colossal synthetic arachnid as he held the trigger down for the AMAC, sending more rounds into the legs as chunks of armour began to fly off.
The assault synth opened fire with its network of DM pulse guns, the heated ghost particles impacting the Hard-Light barriers of Eric's Helios.
"Barriers down 29%" a monotone voice called out through Eric's mind, he gritted his teeth and thought 'Only a few more metres...' just as he came into range of his plasma sword, brining up the right arm and readying it for a hard downwards slash that aimed to cut through the legs and face of the synth. Before he could bring the energy blade down, the synths front legs shot out and made a sweeping motion that caught the HACs right leg, causing the blade to come down to far to the left and thus missing the synth entirely. The HAC hit the ground with a resounding crash, just as the arachnid synth brought up one of its legs as it intended to impale the HAC through its face, Eric made the HAC roll to its right just as the leg came down and impaled the ground instead. Activating the gravitic generators and pushing them to their max, launched the HAC back onto its feet and into the air above the synth, the DM pulse guns firing at him all the while, as Eric brought the sword into a stabbing angle from above.
The synth jumped backwards with all eight legs as the sword came down over where its main body would have been, the plasma sword searing the dirt as it penetrated metres into the soil. The machine removed its legs from its face as the eye began to glow.
"WATCH OUT!" Eric screamed over the comms at the approaching HACs
The beam shot out as both the HACs dived to opposite sides, the beam following the left one and catching it in the lower leg, causing the whole leg to explode and tear itself off in a violent explosion. The maimed HAC still on its side aimed its Hard-Light Emitter at the exposed face of the synth and fired, the beam striking it just above the eye before it brought its legs back in front of itself to block the oncoming fire. The other HAC had gotten up and had jumped up into the air as it rained down fire on top and over the legs of the synth, scaring more armour with streaks of orange lines.
Eric took the opportunity of the distracted synth to do a high knee kick that came slamming down onto one of the side legs of the synth, causing it to scream bloody murder and tilt to its left. As it reacted, Eric had already set in motion his HACs right arm, bringing the sword down as the arachnid swung its left front leg at his torso, and catching the leg towards the upper part of the limb and severing it. The leg continued to fly towards Eric's Helios as it was cut free, pushing the HAC back and knocking it onto its ass as Eric used the arms to stop the impending slide, dirt, rocks and trees were sent flying and were torn asunder as his HAC slid to a halt.
The giant synth roared in anger at the loss of its limb as it turned to bear down on the HAC that had taken its leg, just as the downed HAC fired its Hard-Light emitter again at the side of the synth, boiling away armour along its legs and main body. It reeled again as it tightened its legs together to ablate the harsh light, making a small hop right after and spinning in the air as it fired its DE beamer at the immobile HAC, hitting it in the head and causing the entire upper torso to explode before the pilot could eject.
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!" Vidal in the remaining Type-0 charged the arachnid, firing everything that resembled a gun mounted on his HAC at the still glowing lines that stripped the synth. It cried out with its synthetic roar as lasers and Hard-Light cut open already tender areas, the DM pulse guns opening up a hailstorm of superheated ghost particles at the oncoming HAC as its barriers and shields blocked the dangerously hot particles. Vidal managed to sever a leg on its right back side at the upper joint, causing the synth to stumble precariously, before it could right itself Vidal jumped his HAC into a dive that was aimed feet first at the face of the synth, the kick landing and caving in the front of its face as it roared even louder once again.
In retaliation, the synth used its front legs to slam the HAC into the ground and out of its face, which it immediately crawled over before bringing down two of its legs right on top of the head of the HAC, crushing Vidal in an instant.
"YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!" Eric howled in anger at the loss of another of his squad members and friends
Eric's HAC shot off of its back with the gravitic drives again and onto its feet, just as he kicked into a full on sprint towards the synth that had its left side to him. Breaking over 200km/h before reaching the machine, Eric strained against the Gs as he forced the right arm to swing in a wide arch that made a straight horizontal slash across all of the arachnids left legs, cutting them off at the joints as the metals and ceramics sublimated. The whole synth fell to its side as it no longer could support its left side, its right legs trying to thrash around and stabilize itself in a futile display of thrown dirt and trees.
As it fell, Eric jumped the HAC up into the air and came down on top of the synth in a needle dive that slammed both feet through the roof of its main body, as his HAC pushed its way through the synths hull, he stabbed the plasma sword deep into the head of the synth using the momentum of his HAC to reinforce the strike. The synth let out a pitiful wail as it thrashed around some more, before Eric dragged the sword along its bladed side through the synths head, bisecting the head in two while it was still attached to the body. It finally having been stilled, Eric allowed himself to slump in his command chair and mourn his friends and brothers in arms, head in hands.

The world rematerialized in an instant, as if it had never gone, but what surrounded the Chief now was not the Ascension, but a devastated cityscape. Smoke columns rose from every street and building, fires dotting the landscape where the could be seen as they danced over their fuel. Checking his map, Chief could see that highlighted objective no more than a few hundred metres away, thankful for the close and accurate placement of the teleport.
"Who else is on task? Any others in the grid?" Chief asked to the other inhabitant of his head
"Looks like an ODST squad is on the same task, so was a HAC squad but only the squad leads HAC is responding. Grids empty as far as I can tell, just us and that ODST squad"
"We'll meet up with those ODSTs, then figure out how to tackle that FOB."
Cortana opened a channel to the squads leader, talking to him for a moment before she killed the channel.
"They'll meet us just up ahead, they've got transports."
The Chief started into a jog, by Spartans standards at least, and came to a stop just a hundred metres of where he'd started, the revving of warthogs close by before they came sliding around a street corner and stopping close to the Chief.
"Holy shit, nobody told me we were gettin' the FREAKIN' CHIEF!" Greg exclaimed to nobody in particular
"Shut it Greg. Chief, it'll be a pleasure to work along side you Sir. I'm Lieutenant Higgs, and these are my junior officers Haley, Yussef and Greg."
"You're all ready for this?"
"Sir yes Sir!" they all responded
"Good, because this is going to turn into a real mess. Primary objective is to get Cortana into a network aboard one of their FOBs, cover her while she gets the intel, then we blow the place."
"Sounds like a walk in the park." Yussef quipped
"Yeah, well your freakin' nuts, might as well set up a picnic while were at it huh?" Gregs barb made no effect on Yussef, he just shrugged, as if he didn't mind the idea.
"Stow it you two, shall we?" Haley spoke up and motioned palm up in the direction of the FOB
"Let's." Higgs nodded with the one word affirmation
"Good. Let's move then."

CODEX
XAAL-0 "Ray": The Experimental Anti-Armour Laser was designed to destroy heavily armoured targets by either ignoring the armour and killing crew and/or destroying critical systems or by delivering more energy than the armour can handle. The XAAL-0 achieves this by operating under similar principles of a standard laser, except that the simulated emission of radiation instead of producing lower spectrum electromagnetic waves like visible light or ultraviolet light it produces gamma radiation that is confined using gravitic and magnetic fields and thus preventing the gamma rays from simply escaping the weapon via any material surface of the weapon as gamma radiation can pass through nigh any material and when it does not it delivers its energy in the form of kinetic energy and a landslide of phonons. The XAAL-0 was developed by the same team as the XSAW-0 and under the same roof, although the XSAR-0s team was uninvolved, and hence operates in a similar manner to the XSAW-0. As opposed to the XSAW-0, the XAAL-0 has a physically attached and singular 'barrel' and is home to a considerably longer and denser gain medium of the same compounds. The weapon, like its relatives, is powered by a FPB, but due to the energies involved in creating an amplified and focused gamma radiation beam, the weapon makes a standard FPB worth only two shots. The XAAL-0 under live fire tests, showed that the laser 'ignores' most materials utilized in armour while imparting a significant amount of heat on the item that is passed through, Titanium-A3 and below are virtually useless against an XAAL-0 while Titanium-A4 has shown to be mildly effective at halting the beam but sublimates after 2 seconds of sustained fire, while Titanium-A5 has proven to be decent in terms of protection against the laser as sublimation does not occur until 8+ seconds of sustained fire and will entirely absorb the beams energy without letting it pass through. Titanium-NX is the only armour that can actually block the laser and not transition from solid to gas instantaneously as it requires a minute or more of sustained fire in the same exact spot to liquefy the armour. Tests on organic targets have shown that spontaneous combustion is a side effect of a direct hit from the weapon when in the presence of an oxidizing agent rich atmosphere, like Earth's, and will vaporise the areas directly contacted by the beam regardless of present surrounding chemicals or matter. Standard shields have been effective at stopping the laser, but are overloaded after ablating the energy, while Hard-Light barriers will stop the beam as well but in doing so will fry the emitter, only NID-HL barriers have been truly good against the weapon being able to stop and survive multiple shots. The only X weapon usable by a Marine or GIs, but rarely is due to rumours about the weapon causing various forms of genital cancer along with other genetic degenerative disorders.
XGPC-0 'BFG': The Experimental Gravitic Phonon Channeller aka the 'Big Fucking Gun' is a highly experimental weapon as the use of gravitons and phonons are the primary method to which the weapon creates its offensive capabilities. The weapon is powered by its own micro ZPER which itself requires a CFPB to maintain the Hard-Light barriers on initial start up of the ZPER, once the weapon has been powered on, it cannot be turned off as the ZPER will once going produce the energy required to maintain its own NID-HL barriers and uses the CFPB to kick start the ZPER, which isn't to say that it cannot stop firing, simply that it is unable to power-down. The XGPC-0 requires the ZPER as FPBs or CFPBs and even micro DFRs do not provide the required energy to power the two primary modules of the weapon which are responsible for the generation of phonons and the generation and shaping of a gravitic field. The phonon generator is actually an exciton-polariton generator which are directed into a small E164 block, upon interaction with the E164 atoms the exciton-polaritons decay into phonons which the E164 rejects, to direct the flow of the phonons an immensely powerful compact gravitic field generator creates a looped region of space in which the phonons collect for less than a nanosecond, as to prevent loss of the phonons, until they are accelerated to 1c, the phonons massing less than a photon allows this without breaking the light-speed barrier, and are then redirected out of a cylindrical gravitic field that is twice as strong as the loop as to maintain the phonons velocity. Upon leaving the gravitic 'barrel' the phonons impact what the weapon was pointed at and delivers an enormous amount of heat, enough so to cause post-ferrous elements to fuse and can cause fusion in elements that lie in the second island of stability. The process of creating and directing the phonons takes less than 100 nanoseconds and thus can be repeated in short order, resulting in the weapon having a beam like firing behaviour. Unfortunately, the weapons primary drawbacks are that it weighs an in at an unreasonable 109kg, firing for periods longer than 5 seconds continuously will tax the gravitic filed generator thoroughly and can lead to a heat build up in the weapon, enough so that the operator may suffer severe burns if unprotected, and lastly if the weapon is fired for 10 seconds or more risks drawing too much power out of the ZPER and CFPB which may result in either power source destroying themselves explosively and if the ZPER goes it is powerful enough to vaporize virtually anything in a 100m radial sphere. The weapons ZPER does not have the safeties of its starship counterparts as is hence why a catastrophic failure of the weapon is possible. Other dangers of the XGPC-0 is that if fired at a target that is in close proximity it will cause micro fusion explosions to occur rapidly which results in a thermonuclear explosion, of relatively small size, which can injure or kill the operator, although this is unlikely as a suitable fuseable materials is required for such a reaction to occur. No armour or material has been shown to be effective against the weapon, and also like the XAAL-0 causes shields to short out including Hard-Light barriers and NID-HL barriers if fired at for over a few seconds.
XHLR-0: Another product from the weapons development teams designed for Spartan-Vs, the XHLR-0 is a miniaturized Hard-Light Light emitter like the M11E, but is restricted to beam and pulse modes like its starship counterparts. The XHLR-0 is designed to operate as the standard weapon for Spartan-Vs in place of the MA7 series, and so is built on the premise of prolonged usage and reliability at the cost of sheer damage output. Powered by a single FPB, the XHLR-0 makes the most out of what it has, capable of sustaining a beam of Hard-Light for 20 seconds or firing 400 pulses before a reload is required. The beam mode is powerful enough to penetrate Titanium-A5 after 5 seconds of sustaining the beam, 10 pulses for pulsed mode. The weapon is fairly heafty as it masses at 29kg without FPB and 31kg with, while not unusable by non-Spartan-Vs it can tend to fatigue them over an extended period of time and is therefore not wholly distributed. A lighter and more ergonomic design is in the works for deployment to Marines and ODSTs but is not expected to be ready until at least 2704.
Binilpentium: Element 205, accidentally discovered by DFR technicians while doing a cleaning and repair of an XR4 that had gone over 1 billion degrees Celsius and sustained the temperature for more than 5 minutes. Technically a metalloid, Binilpentium is solid but only at 50 degrees kelvin or below, a liquid from 51 to 200, a gas at 250, and its final state as a plasma at 383. Due to the unusually low temperature that Binilpentium forms a plasma, it can undergo fusion at temperature less than 1273 kelvin, 1000 degrees Celsius, on top of fusing at incredibly slow rates while putting out more energy than Deuterium per fused atom by orders of magnitudes and makes what was once thought far flung if not impossible, cold(ish) fusion. Although in theory, CF reactors would have lower power output than a ZPE reactor, CF reactors would be substantially safer than a ZPE equivalent. Though CF reactors are not without risk, as if the Binilpentium plasma exceeds 20 thousand degrees Celsius, it will begin to under go hot fusion which will cause a chain reaction through out the entire plasma, sky-rocketing the temperature of the fusion reaction to well past tens of billions of degrees in less than a few microseconds, thus destroying the reactor and most likely the host ship as well depending on the size of the reactor. Binilpentium can be shortened to Bnp or E205 for convenience sake.
CFR0 UNSC-ARD S12129/EXPERIMENTAL: Only a single CFR has been made, the CFR0 being it, as of 2699 and has yet to be outfitted onto a ship as further testing is done as well as design revisions for improved models of the same size and to gauge an accurate picture of the scalability of the design. The CFR0 is a few cubic meters smaller than the SVK0, and is devoid of a secondary dedicated powerplant, which allows the CFR0 for roughly the same size to output more power the the SVK0. The skeletal frame of the reactor is made of Unhexnilium, while the casing, shell, components housing and supports are made of (2TPa)Xeonium, with the inner walls and magnets being made of Unhexquadium. As only a single one has been constructed, no testing on durability has been physically done, but AI and computer simulations have show that the CFR0 is expected to be one of the safest and most reliable reactors yet, rivalling the SXL for survivability in the field. Safeties have been built into the design as well, with the inner walls ringed with various sensors that will detect if the CF reaction is behaving outside of design parameters, and will flood the entire reaction chamber with liquid nitrogen to kill any runaway Bnp CF to HF reactions.
Cold Fusion Plasma Battery: Slotted to replace the FPB by 2706, the CFPB is essentially the same as a FPB with the only difference being the fusion reactant contained inside the battery. Instead of hydrogen, Bnp is used at a fraction of the amount of hydrogen FPBs use, but last up to 12x as long, the only drawback being that a direct hit to the battery from an energy weapon with sufficient energy, and consequently heating potential, will cause the battery to explode as the microscopic amount of Bnp undergoes a hot fusion reaction and is equivalent to a hand grenade in terms of explosive force. While still possible to drain too much energy from the battery in a given moment, it is unlikely as the draw necessary to do so would melt most weapons, vehicles or defences internals.
UU Synth-HAssaultU1: An entirely synthetic and mechanical being, designed by a member species of the UU, is in appearance similar to a spider, but on a much larger scale. Standing at 60m tall, 90m in length and 70m wide including leg length, makes this machine a particularly large monster. Its function is similar to that of the Old Covenants Scarabs, as it can carry infantry and has powerful weaponry to support them while its size allows it to act as cover for them if the space is available. The Heavy Assault synth has a single DE beam weapon as its central 'eye' while DM pulse weapons litter the entire body of the machine from legs to main body and even its underbelly, a nightmare of an enemy for just about any foe that would encounter it.
