It finally was the day Classes resumed and I was more than happy to be back in class. In a rather good mood I made my way to breakfast and ate quietly. I almost couldn't contain my excitement as it was time to head to class. Starting with Charms, and ending with potions it was going to be a good day. Being in a better mood than I had been. I was participating a lot more than I had before break. Going through the day I find myself looking forward to potions class. Taking my spare hour to work on homework while helping Harry out while Hermione helped Ron. It was rather fun spending the hour with the three of them just laughing and chatting away. When it was time I headed down to the dungeons early only to find that Draco was already in class. Harry followed behind me and smiled nudging me lightly. He had taken it upon himself to tease me about Malfoy ever since I got the gift because I was wearing the ribbon around my wrist. I shoved him back and glared at him before looking up at the potion Master who had been watching.

"You might as well sit next to him…he will pair both of you up anyways…" Harry had a point when he said that. It would make things allot easier, so we wouldn't have to change seats taking time away from the brewing and preparations. "True. I'll talk to you after class than" I smiled and moved over to Draco and took a seat next to him. The boy looked at me for a moment but didn't say a word instead turned back to his book. I prepared for class and pulled of my robe and put it away it got in the way of brewing anyways. I pulled out my quill case and that's when it dawned on me I hadn't thanked him properly. "Uhm Draco….uh thanks for the quill…" He looked up and gave a small smile. "Don't mention it…I saw the way you looked at it….to be honest I had bought it out of spite so you couldn't have it…but…things between me and you changed...and I felt like I owed you…" I looked down and smiled, it was kind of sweet. 'Sweet…did I just think of him as sweet what the bloody hell…well the fact that he gave the quill to me as Christmas gift was...thoughtful….I guess sweet could be used…' a touch on my wrist pulled me out of my mind and I looked down seeing his fingers gently tug at the silver ribbon. "You are wearing the ribbon on your wrist?" "Yeah…I liked it…it's something I do...just wear stuff around my wrist..." "Why not get bracelets…" "I don't really own jewelry….I never really thought about it to be honest…I like simple things…not much for fancy jewelry" "I see…" Was all he said before giving one last tug on the ribbon and pulled his hand away. I smiled at him and he returned it. The class was filling with students and once the lesson started I smiled glad that I decided to sit next to him because we were in fact paired up. Everything went great we got to work and had everything set up, and the potion was slowly bubbling as we both watched it making sure it wasn't too hot or burning. "So...I'm your preferred partner?" I looked up eyes wide in shock, I had completely forgotten that I had said that. "Well yeah….you are good at potions so why wouldn't I prefer you?" "Seems like a valid reason..." "Plus you seem to be a nice guy…I do enjoy our little chats…" We both watched the potion, it turned the right color and I began to stir it as he added the next ingredients to it. "I'm a nice guy huh," he chuckled and picked up the next ingredient as I changed the direction I was stirring.

The Potion master passed us in his walk around the class only glancing at our potion before moving on the next pair. I looked back up at him and smiled as he began adding the next ingredient. "Yeah a nice guy…" he smiled and waited for me to stop stirring and turned the heat up just a little bit. "You are a pretty nice girl yourself…." I didn't take my eyes of the potion and smiled I could feel my cheeks heat up but I blamed it on the heat from the potion as it bubbled. "Am I a good partner?" There was short silence as the potion master passed us by again almost as if trying to listen into the conversation. "The best partner I had so far….And a partner I prefer to work with…" I smiled and turned to him only to see him smile at me. He moved and stirred the potion as it reached the right color and turned the heat down. I moved to crush the last ingredient and carefully sprinkled it in as he stirred. He stopped stirring and removed the stirring utensil. Now all we had to do is let the potion sit to cool off. "That's nice to hear…" There was a silence between us as we watched the potion. "Plus…I like having something pretty to look at while I wait…" he mumbled but it was audible enough to hear and he must have realized it as he looked at me before turning away and stared at the potion. I looked at my hands trying not to let my cheeks heat up but failing miserable. Neither of us noticing the Potion Master who had been standing behind us listening while inspecting the Potion of the other students. Noticing the man behind me I turned to look only to catch him look at both of us from the corner of his eyes before turning away and moving on. Finishing the potion we bottle up a sample and added a name tag with our names and cleaned up and sat quietly for the reminder of class, avoiding to look at each other. Class was dismissed and we packed up our things. "I'll see you tomorrow in class…" He looked up and nodded. "Yeah...see you than…" with that we went our separate ways for the day.

Rushing back to the Gryffindor tower ignoring Harry's calls as I passed them by. My mind was spinning and I needed to sit and have my treasured silence. Reaching the tower I rushed into the dorm and practically jumped onto the bed pulling the curtains shut, so no one would bother me. Kicking of my shoes I pulled my feet under me and hugged the pillow. 'What the hell was going on…he said I was pretty again…this time it seemed sincere…well it had seemed sincere at lunch as well…and then Professor Snape seemed to hover around us more than usual. Was it because we were talking while brewing' It was all too much, just too much I threw myself back onto my bed and curled up my mind racing about everything that happened. None of it made sense, we are friends. Friends can complement each other without meaning anything else by it, right? I think so, we are friends, and friends say nice things about each other. But that didn't explain Professor Snape, it had to be because we were talking, most likely. I got of my bed and just changed and got ready for bed and brushed my teeth. Thinking about all of this has made my head hurt and I wanted to just sleep it off. And so I will, I can always eat in the morning so missing dinner wouldn't be an issue. 'But what if he thinks I didn't show up because of what he said…' I shook that thought out of my head. I can explain to him why in class if it does come up, so problem solved. Smiling to myself I stretched and moved back to my bed and curled up in the covers. My mind Racing as I laid there. I decided to read until I was tired enough to fall asleep. I had no idea how long I actually read, but when the dorm began to fill with the other girls I called quits and laid down to sleep. Maybe tomorrow won't be as mentally exhausting.
