Trunks- 15/ 16
Pan- 12
It was a warm Saturday morning in May when -most- of the hybrids were making their way down to the Briefs kitchen for breakfast.
"Morning sunshines," Bulma greeted her daughter and two adoptive children.
"Morning, Momma, Daddy," Bulla yawned, sitting next to Vegeta.
"Morning Momma Bulma, Papa Veggie," Pan grinned
Vegeta grunted, "haven't I told you to stop calling me that?" He asked the girl.
"Mhm," Pan nodded. "But you're Papa Veggie, so that's what I'm going to call you."
"Hey can I call you Veggie?" Goten asked, siting on the other side of the Saiyan, across from Bulla.
Vegeta gave him a hard look, his left eye starting to twitch.
"Or you know... Vegeta is good!" Goten laughed nervously with his hands in the air.
"Hey, where's the birthday boy?" Bulma frowned.
"Where do you think?" Goten smiled. "He's still asleep. I trie waking him up, but you know him... I even used the birthday line, but he only rolled his eyes and ordered me to shut up then."
Bulma sighed, "I swear Vegeta, he's so much like you at times."
The said man smirked, "well, he is a Prince."
Bulma rolled her eyes, glancing at Pan, the only person who could ever seem to wake Trunks up. "Would you mind-?"
"No problem!" Pan chirped, jumping out of her chair. She grabbed a cupcake off the counter before running up the stairs and to her favorite lavender-haired Saiyan's room.

Pan creaked the door open, stepping inside of the room. Just as Goten had said, Trunks was still sleeping soundly as he laid on his stomach. With a soft smile and a light giggle, Pan jumped onto his bed, causing him to let out a muffled groan.
"Happy birthday Trunks!" She smiled, leaning down to kiss her cheek.
"Panna, it's too early," he mumbled into a pillow as he squinted an eye at her.
"Trunks, it's eight," she informed him.
"Too early," he repeated.
"But I have something for you," she held out the cupcake.
Trunks scratched his head, sitting up with a yawn. He stretched before glancing at the food. "Is that a muffin?"
"I thought it was a cupcake," Pan frowned.
"Did my mother make it?"
Pan nodded, "I think so."
"That explains it then," he told her.
"Come on," Pan smiled, handing him is cupcake muffin before sliding off his bed. Slowly, he stood up, and as wasted no time grabbing his arm so that they could walk down to the kitchen together.

The rest of the day went by fairly smoothly. Trunks was turning sixteen, but he wasn't having a party, although Bulma had begged him to let her throw him one. He was much like his father in that scene, he didn't like parties and such things to be centered around him. The day was still special though; he got his first car. It was from Capsule Corp, one of the newest models of a black Ferrari. He also got a Vegeta-Sei heirloom from his father. Royal Saiyan crest necklace, something that by just wearing it, would let others know that he was the Saiyan Prince.
It was nightfall by the time things had settled down, and Trunks and Pan swung on an old swing set in the Briefs backyard. Bulla was busy getting ready for the night, and Goten was still stuffing his face from the cake Trunks had received. Even as it grew darker, the two still didn't make a move to come inside.
"Did you have a good birthday, Trunks?" Pan asked, holding onto the swings sides.
"Of course I did," Trunks turned his body towards her, letting his left arm hang. "I spent it with you."
Pan tilted her head down as a blush lit up her face. Trunks had that effect on her... Now that they were older he seemed to make her blush more and so easily too. "Trunks, will we always be together?" She asked him.
Trunks looked at her and smiled. They would always be together, he knew they would. Yet, recently, he had been wanting to become something more to her... Something stronger, but he knew she was still too young for that and he wasn't about to rush her.
"Trunks?" Pan waved a hand in front of his face when he took too long to answer.
Trunks caught her hand, holding it in his. "Of course Panna-Chan. Nothing could tear us apart."
Pan smiled at him before looking up at the sky. "Don't ever leave me okay...?" She whispered, "I don't know what I would do if you left me..."
Trunks stood up quickly, pulling on Pan's arm and making her stand as well. He brought her close to him, wrapping one arm around her as he held her other hand. A pink blush formed across Pan's cheeks and nose. She had hugged Trunks a million times, been this close to him a million times, heck, she's even slept on his chest before! But why was this time so different?
"I could never leave you," Trunks told her. "You complete me, you see? Without you in my life there would be no point in living."
"Y-you don't mean that," Pan whispered, her eyes were wide. Did he really feel the same way as her? She knew without a doubt that Trunks completed her. To her, he was everything, but was she really that important to him?
"Oh, but I do," he whispered back, and Pan rested her head on his chest with a sigh. "I refuse to live without you Panna. So you can't be going and doing anything reckless, okay?"
Pan laughed lightly, "I promise, but you have to be safe too."
"Aye, aye," he smiled with a nod.
"I love you Trunks, I'm glad you're my best friend."
Trunks smiled sadly as a sigh escaped his lips. He looked down at Pan in his arms, "Yeah, Best friends..."
