A/N: I hope to get another chapter after this done, and then another hiatus for this story, as all of my stories will be on hiatus until late August...

Notes: Canon 'Verse, Erza and Lucy go to Fiore's largest pride parade, also contains Wendy/Chelia, Cana/Mirajane, Laxus/Fried, and Kagura/Yukino. I had originally planned to release this on June 28th, but some things happened...

"Lucy, I think I know what we should do with our weekend off!" Declared Erza, holding a flyer in her hand.

"As long as it doesn't involve mountains, I'm fine." Offered Lucy, still interested in what Erza wanted to do all the while.

"The pride parade in Crocus!" Announced Erza, showing the flyer to Lucy. "I figure since this is our first year together, we may as well."

"I'd love to, can't wait!" Agreed Lucy, who had been thinking of doing so, but was unsure of what Erza would want, as their relationship was relatively unknown outside of the guild. "So, you're okay with telling it to Fiore?"

"Sure, why would I even want to work with the asshole who'd hate me just because I love another woman; if anything, this just tells me who my friends are." Reassured Erza, before giving Lucy a kiss to her lips.

"All right then, I can be packed in half an hour! To Crocus!" Affirmed Lucy.

Crocus was buzzing with activity. Hotels were bustling with visitors, the arena was being decorated for the parade, and the rest of the route was being similarly prepared. It was a beautiful chaos, the kind Erza and Lucy had come to associate with the grand magic games.

"Well, this should be interesting." Lucy noted, a sincere smile on her face.

"Indeed, it's a bit of a miracle I even found a hotel room..." noted Erza as she directed Lucy to a building several blocks from the arena, which had been designated as the parade's starting point.

"Sorry about the room being so small..." Muttered Erza, noting the room, which was only large enough for a bed, a table on the side, and a bathroom near the front door.

"That doesn'nt really matter, after all, I'm sharing it with the only person who I enjoy being in close quarters with." Laughed Lucy as she glomped Erzain an exaggerated manner, but was cut off by a knock at their room's door.

"Oh god..." Muttered Erza in an annoyed voice as she walked over to the door and looked through the peephole to see a middle aged man carrying a stack of flyers in his arms. "It looks like the protesters have found us..."

"Well the sign reading 'Welcome Fiore Pride Parade' around this block of rooms was a dead giveaway..." Sighed Lucy.

"Yeah, but hey, why should we give a fuck? They may say these things about us, but we know it's bullshit, and Fiore's king knows it too, we can marry now, if we so please." Reassured Erza.

"You always know how to make me feel better." Lucy said with a contented sigh.

"I can make you feel even better than that!" Laughed Erza, as she exquipped.

The next morning, the paraders converged upon the arena, as it was a more upbeat event, they were dressed in bright colors and other cheerful regalia. Erza and Lucy made their way through the crowd, to a grouping of mages; as mages from several guilds, including their own, had agreed to march together, in a symbol of solidarity.

"Erza! Lucy!" Shouted Lamia Scale's Chelia Blendy, her hand firmly grasping Wendy's.

"I didn't know you two were a couple." Noted Erza with a smile; it was nice to see more of their friends anywhere.

"We've been together for a month or so, this is us coming out." Explained Wendy.

"'Sup? Nice day, huh?" Shouted Cana, her arm slung over Mirajane's shoulder.

"Well, I suppose it's nice to see you here too." Said Lucy; she and Erza had known about Cana and Mirajane for awhile, but didn't know if they would be coming or not, as Mirajane remained a bit nervous about revealing her and Cana's love to the public.

"All of you look excited." Noted Fried, with Laxus' hand on his shoulder. " This should be an excellent day.

"I didn't know you were gay, Laxus." Noted Wendy. The last she'd heard, Laxus was with Mirajane.

"Mira and I were covering for each other, but I guess we both got sick of it; Mira has Cana, and I have Fried." Laxus explained, before accepting a kiss from the rune mage.

"Well, some old friends I see..." Noted Kagura, leading Yukino by the hand to the gathering.

"Lucy, you're here?" Asked Yukino, reassured by a semblance of familiarity. "Now I'm ready to show the world, Kagura."

"Looks like the march is starting, let's get a move on!" Declared Erza, as the parade began its trek through Crocus.

"HELL SHALL GLADLY ACCEPT YOU!" Shouted an older man in a cowboy hat crouched in an alleyway not far from the parade's path. He was joined by 70 or so compatriots, most clutching signs with homophobic slurs stationed near the parade for the next several blocks.

"What the fuck do they they're playing at?!" Demanded Cana, throwing up her middle finger at the man.

"Kagura, I'm scared..." Sobbed Yukino, as she huddled closer to Kagura.

"Ignore the assholes, they'll go away eventually." Reassured Erza, taking Lucy's hand and keeping her pace through all of this.

"The parade continued with little incident beyond that, but the jeers of the group of protesters persisted, that is, until three blocks in, one of them ran into the street and punched Lucy in the arm.

"Hey!" Shouted Lucy as more of the protesters came out as well, but were blocked off by a larger crowd of mages, many from the Fairy Tail guild.

"We support you, no matter what." Promised Gray.

"How about you idiots leave our friends alone!" Shouted Natsu and Lisana together.

"Stop being mean to aunt Lucy and aunt Erza!" Demanded Asuka, with Alzack and Bisca behind her, nodding in agreement.

"It looks like you were right, we have plenty of friends." Lucy muttered, as she noted Erza, who had gotten a bit behind Lucy, walking up.

"True enough!" Laughed Erza, as she brought Lucy's lips to hers and bestowed a passionate kis on the other girl, and at that time requipped a small box into her hand. After breaking from the kiss, Erza showed Lucy the ring in that box. "Will you marry me, Lucy?"

"YES! YES! YES!" Shouted Lucy with joyful tears in her eyes, and pulling Erza in for another kiss as cheers erupted from the parade around them, as well as among those who had come to their aid. "Erza was right again, we can be happy together." Lucy thought.
